Always really good service, today my daughters coffee didn't taste quite right for her and the staff were more than happy to change it for her. Never have a problem here coffee and food always spot on. Lovely atmosphere and very friendly, helpful staff 😊

Visited on 21st February 2025 whilst on a weekend break in Portland..what a wonderful Friday evening...Landlady, staff and locals most welcoming..A real old fashioned no frills local pub serving good beer and great music..Everything a good pub should be...looking forward to coming back...Seedy and Lorraine xx

I was so pleased to find a chippy with a vegan menu as well! So we ordered online for collection so we could eat on the beach. I had the vegan options - wish I could’ve tried more! - and hubby and child had chicken and chips. When we arrived to collect it was ready and waiting and I can honestly say this was the best chippy food I’ve had since I was a kid and wasn’t vegan! Amazing, well done.

Love this place. Gardens, staff and food are excellent. Now for the BUT. It has become very noisy and it is difficult to have a conversation at the table. Of course, due to its popularity, it is usually full even at this hime of year when the weather doesn’t allow outside sitting. The ceilings are low and the tables close together. We have been there when there was a ‘wake’ also there. Outside now the walk near the well is full of tables and chairs as is another area used for weddings. I loved the peace and atmosphere it had before. I don’t blame themoeners during tnese difficult times but would appreciate no background music please.
