Lovely cafe, with very friendly staff. Had a really nice cup of tea and a couple of slices of toast. Overlooking the lovely Weymouth seafront.

Popped in for a quick lunch by the seaside. Really nice cosy atmosphere with friendly staff. The food was very mice and didn’t take long to come even tho they were busy. Would definitely come back again. Lovely place

Unfortunately after we ordered and payed the staff told us one of our meals was sold out so we had to chose something else and be refunded which was a bit of a faff Apart from that staff were very friendly and service was quick Definitely will return when we’re back in Weymouth

Very overrated. Service very average unfortunately. The staff aren't very quick to acknowledge you are there and waiting to be served. A simple 'be with you in a moment ' wouldn't go amiss. Does well because of where it is,rather than what it is

One of the best american burgers I have ever had. This burger was a burger that could restore world peace. It is that good. The burger was an experience in itself and was worth the 4 hour trip to Weymouth itself. Come here if you are in the area looking for food, come here if you aren't in the are looking for food, it is worth trip.

A super cafe in a good location with a wide choice of food. My fish and chips were excellent and my partners vegan burger and chips also tasty and of good size. Friendly and helpful staff and efficient service. Plenty of seating inside and there is also a large outdoor seating area. Easy accessed toilet on the ground floor.

Just popped in out of the rain, What a lovely place the staff are very efficient and pleasant very good service , Just had a tea and coffee and a slice of cake you must try it.

WE ORDERED A TOASTED CHEESE, HAM AND PINEAPPLE SANDWICH AND A BEANS JACKET POTATO. THEY QUICKLY ARRIVED ,LARGE PORTIONS WITH SALAD AND COLESLAW .BOTH WERE EXCELLENT A LITTLE BIT EXPENSIVE BUT WELL WORTH THE EXTRA COST .WILL DEFINATELY RETURN WHEN IN WEYMOUTH .

We opted for the full English breakfast, and wow we weren't disappointed! The bacon was absolutely gorgeous, so flavourful!! Toast was nice fresh bread and not run of the mill store bought. Clean and friendly staff, highly recommend.

Fantastic place the service was amazing the people were helpful and greeted you with a smile. The food was delicious and well presented came out all together and the wait wasn’t long even tho it was really busy. We had a selection of food. Crab sandwich, Jacket potato, Toasty, Sausage and chips, every meal was perfect. Really is a fantastic place. Would highly recommend.

Food is terrible. Very cheap tasting frozen rubbish. Also most food was either over or undercooked. Avoid at all costs.

We went for a drink and for somewhere to sit and feed the baby. It was very busy but a waitress spotted our pushchair and showed us to a quieter table inside where there was room to park the pram. A large selection of cakes and I was thrilled with the vegan biscoff cupcake!

I asked the waitress for a table for 5. I saw there was a free table, a man had just left. Despite this, she told us that there were no tables available. I then asked the waitress if we could wait here and she ignored me and walked off. I was standing around waiting, all the while I could see that same table was free so I asked another passing waiter if we could sit there and he said yes sure it was free…. We made our way over to the table and noticed that some of the chairs were missing. The table behind had taken two chairs from our table as they were a large group. We then asked the same waitress if we could take a free chair over to our table as some of our chairs were missing. She said NO. There were plenty of free chairs available but she said NO. From the moment we entered the Cactus Tea Rooms there was absolutely no effort whatsoever to say hello, accommodate us or anything. After all this nonsense, we decided to leave and did not order anything. On the way out, the same waitress gave me a sarcastic smile goodbye and then childishly whispered something to another waitress. The Cactus Tea Rooms is let down by silly, immature and childish staff that don’t know what they are doing. Please see attached photo of staff. We went to Rockfish instead and had an amazing lunch and the service there was fantastic, the staff at Rockfish actually say HELLO when you walk in the door! :)

We visited this lovely place twice during our stay in Weymouth. They make the best cappuccinos I have had in a long time. Yummy Dorset apple cake & Coffee and walnut cake. Dog friendly inside & and out, which is so refreshing. Highly recommend this cafe, Well done guys 👏👏👏

Been to this place n ordered drinks n food was asked to pay first as if I would run bcoz of my nationality I guess coz I was not English for locals they have to pay after meals I guess,coz I dint see any other customers paying first if m not mistaken,I did work in hospitality business n has been working still back home when guest from other nationality we don't tell to pay ,it was pretty sad that they greet customers from other nationality they treat this way ..

Had a lovely family gathering here to celebrate a birthday...Excellent from enquiry to being looked after on the day. Good gluten free options...lovely position too..

Exalent fish & chips, thay have revamped since we ate there last time, a bit of a wait but it was worth it, the fish was probably the best that I have had for a long time, puts longs in bridport high street to shame.

Visited on Saturday for Tea and scone . Never again , . Service was very slow , When the waitress did appear . The Tea was stewed scone was warm but stale ,only good thing was the cream and jam

My wife visited The Cactus Tea Rooms and had absolutely excellent service, she needed a gluten free meal and was catered for extremely well.

Lovely visit to the Cactus Tea Rooms with family. Josh was extremely attentive and went above and beyond to cater for all the family's requests. The other staff were extremely welcoming too. Scenic views and amazing cakes! Highly recommend.

What a lovely place this is, went as a group of five (and the dog too, who was welcomed). We all had the full English breakfast, 2 bacon, 2 sausages, 2 hash browns, egg, toast and butter, beans, tomato and mushrooms, bargain for £12. Well cooked, good quality food. Attentive and pleasant staff who couldn’t do enough. I will be recommending this place from now on. Thank you Cactus Tea Rooms.

What a find, right on the seafront, dog friendly, excellent staff, we ate breakfast here most days of our stay, food was of good quality, cooked well and lots of if for the price. The servers are very friendly and nothing is too much bother, quick service, and nice to check all was ok. Definitely, recomend the Full English Breakfast, also not too expensive for the amount and quality that you get.

We were looking for a good cafe for a mid-day snack and this place was perfect. Although busy we were quickly shown to the only free table inside and all the staff were attentive and friendly. A good range of food on offer and our chosen food of toasted sandwiches were delicious and served in good time considering how busy it was.

Great warm place to watch the world go by! We stopped off here to escape the rain, the cakes are to die for! My son really liked his milkshake too.

Cake here has always been good, but WOW the Christmas cake they've started doing is out of this world! I'd recommend everyone to get down there in December whilst it lasts. The staff make a real effort and it's such a great independent place I'd choose over a chain any day for amazing cake and tea.

The really pleasant waiter told us to take a seat and someone would take our order. Unfortunately no one came despite people who arrived after being served before us.We had to call out to a waitress. One of our cakes was missing cream despite it being requested..The Victoria sponge was OK but nothing special. More concerning was whilst we were there as well as our order not being correct the gentleman behind us was handed a dry scone with no jam or cream which they had to rectify and two other tables were given each others hot drinks.That was four orders being incorrect within 10 minutes.

Nice friendly chap served us, basic decor and scones that left an awful after taste, too much baking powder or worse still the catering mix you can buy that just add milk...... couldn't eat mine, husband did as he was hungry. Repeated on him afterwards. Prime location so what a waste...could be amazing but wasn't in any way. Tearoom, not really a cafe at best.

We had our lunch here today and overall the food was very nice however I think it is very overpriced. We paid £8 for my ham and tomato toasty which seemed very unreasonable once it came out. Two pieces of brown toasted bread, two pieces of what I would refer to as bacon and a few slices of tomato. Again no complaints on the quality of the food just the price.

AVOID: I've eaten in here more than once (as a visitor under duress from family), and sadly never again. Some (not all) of the young staff were rude, and the food really is poor - given the location + coach-loads of pensioners they know they will fill their tables, so they really dont seem to care about their other customers. The rude staff comments seem consistent with many other reviews, and I have to agree with the many comments regarding the AWFUL CHIPS 😱. Do yourself a favour - enjoy a stroll on the nice beach and visit the chip shop 50 yards away instead (very friendly staff🙂).

Told technical difficulties with card machines caused us not to be served when we have clearly seen several people who came after us be served before us. We spoke to one of the staff and was told he would get our order taken this did not happen and then when we went inside we were told it is table service only.

Absolutely delicious! Food was amazing and they were incredibly accommodating of my gluten intolerance too with options immediately available. My husband couldn’t praise the mushrooms enough!

Good food at reasonable prices, I had cod+chips & my wife had their fish finger sandwich. Clean, with good prompt and friendly service.

The name of this tea room definitely stood out on the map of Weymouth! I looked it up before I came and read excellent reviews....and here's another! I was especially interested to read that they are very considerate of special diets and having had lunch here 2 days in a row during my short break, I can confirm this to be true. This tea room is very popular and it's easy to see why! It can be difficult to get a table but I was lucky on my 2 visits. You're given a very warm welcome on arrival and then you choose where you'd like to sit. It's table service here and they take payment as soon as you've finished placing your order. On my first visit, a member of staff made time to answer my questions about potential allergens in items on the menu despite it being so busy. They have a very extensive menu here. NOTE: The vegan cheese they use here is Violife. The chips are cooked separately from other menu items. The ham is from a local butcher. This information helped me make an informed decision and I was comfortably able to choose things to eat. The portions are very generous and everything was absolutely delicious! I didn't have to wait long for my order on both occasions. The tea room is in a lovely location opposite the sea front. I loved it here and I highly recommend it! I'll definitely be back should I have an opportunity to visit Weymouth again in the future. Absolutely fantastic!

Great food, lovely staff, I was sat outside having lunch when I did witness the manager having a conversation about a review a customer had left, he was very aggressive and I don't think this was appropriate with other customers around. We will definitely be back next year, as the food was amazing.

Went there whilst visiting Weymouth for the first time and loved it. We sat outside which despite being right next to a busy road, was quiet and there was no seagulls either. The menu seemed a bit basic but the food was super tasty! I had a cheese and tomato toastie which was a very big portion and came with a side salad and coleslaw. My only negative was that my americano came with hot milk straight in the mug which was basically a cappuccino -- not what I asked for but it was still a good coffee. What made my stay there a 5/5 experience was the young lady who took our order. She made us feel very welcome and looked after, even during a busy lunch time. Sadly I didn't ask for her name to include in this review but I hope she knows that she does a great job. I would definitely recommend this place.

As a local resident, I have visited on many occasions. I love their toasted cheese and onion sandwiches which draw me back to eat there. I have dietary needs due to an operation and will ask for smaller portions. Whilst on the whole this request is met I find that no allowance is made in the pricing for the smaller amount of food ordered being told on many occasions that "we will have to charge full price" The food on the whole is excellent, if not slightly overpriced. A small glass tub of pickle is charged extra and gives the impression that such items help inflate the cost of your meal. I asked for some black pepper and was given a catering jar which if I had opened might lead to cross contamination. Yesterday was extremely busy causing a long wait. It would help if waiting staff had a set number of tables to cover.

Sorry to have to do this but I must….. We both had sausage, egg and chips with 1 piece of bread/spread and quite honestly, I have nothing good to say about this meal at all. The chips were flat and utterly tasteless, the eggs were completely overcooked and the sausage was akin to what you might get from a funfair. A pot of very mediocre tea to wash it down and the bill was over £30. We have never felt so cheated and can only assume that this establishment is solely geared up to fleece the unwitting tourist. The only reason I have awarded 2 stars is the service. The staff were working very hard and were all pleasant and efficient. Such a pity that they were let down by an utterly diabolical meal. We have now returned home after our holiday and are still beating ourselves up about walking through these doors and parting with our hard earned money for complete rubbish. AVOID.

Absolutely lovely food, fantastic, calm, quiet environment. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. We entered at about 5 unsure of the closing time, which we found out to be 6, and were still given the same level of service as we were when we went for lunch.

I always avoid giving 5 stars to places as I always think that there’s room to improve… but The Cactus Tea Rooms is almost perfection! There is no justifiable reason to not give this place 5 stars. The food is amazing. Burgers are homemade and delicious, and the portions are massive for their price! The service is swift and amazing. One waitress was so careful with our dietary requirements, making sure everything was alright. She was kind, caring, and made the experience amazing. Food and drink came out in a reasonable amount of time. The atmosphere was calm and nice. It was lovely. One small point of development… the chips weren’t always crispy. But that was very small, and isn’t enough to remove 1 full star from the overall rating. Highly recommend you come. We are not locals and had cycled to Weymouth from Bournemouth. I checked Google for a decent cream ☕, we avoid any High St chains. Service with a smile makes a huge difference, so helpful. Cream tea was fab. I saw the next table had ordered the jacket 🥔 and they looked fab, sadly they had run out of Portland crab sandwiches. Would definitely return

Great place to have lunch with a good choice of food. The prawn mayo sandwich was packed full.of prawns and the latte hot and not bitter.

We had cream tea with Prosseco for breakfast !! Lovely scones jam and plenty of cream. The young lady serving us reminded us to beware of the pesty seagulls!! My daughter asked if she could have the Cork from the Prosseco bottle (needed for her wedding) she came back with it not 5 minutes later. Young ladies were friendly

I’m so glad I ignored the previous pity party reviews. Once again my wife and I have enjoyed a fabulous lunch in this establishment. Friendly, polite staff. No need for menus as a possible 6 foot square chalk board shows everything you need to know. Please try this tea rooms it’s very pleasant and flavourful.

My wife and I had a pot of tea for 2. I also had a cheese and pickle sandwich and my wife had a cheese and onion sandwich. Both came well filled and with a side of coleslaw and a small salad. My wife had eaten half of her sandwich when a large seagull swooped down and took the other half. A member of staff came out, shooed the seagull away and made another half sandwich free of charge for my wife (we had offered to pay for it). Can't beat that for service. Definitely recommend this establishment both for food quality and service.

I have never been asked before to pay prior to have eaten especially as we were sitting in side not outside. Also we had to wait nearly 10m to actually get the food to our table . The scone was not bad but we will never return

I cant understand why this place got 5-star reviews. We ordered the fish & chips, for some bazaar reason we had to pay before we received our food. That's the first time, out of the hundreds of restaurants that I have been to (being very conservative) and now I know why. had I not paid first, and after the meal, I would have refused to pay; and obviously, it has happened in the past. there is no proper menu, just a chalk board, obviously cutting costs. when we received our food, the first impressions were positive. but then again you could have brought in fake food and got the same reaction. as usual I first try the chips, which were obviously cooked in an air fryer as they were very dry. then the peas, just some frozen peas warmed in hot water, and couldn't keep them on my fork. Mushy Pease would have been better, but then I guess that takes effort. then the fried Cod! oh, my word! the most tasteless, watery piece of fish that I have ever tasted, and I know my fish.... if there was ever a fish that could be used as a mock Cod, it was over moist to the extent that it was watery, no salt or any other flavouring. possibly the blandest piece of fish that I have ever tasted, I thought that I had got COVID and lost all my taste, but then the rest of us felt exactly the same way. I should have walked an extra 100 yards and got value for my money. the only reason I gave this review 1 star, is that you cannot give a review without a star, pity one cannot give minus stars. I hope this review will warn others, and maybe let them eat and pay later.

Reasonable service but good service. 😊 They do very good gluten free food, as the chef is gluten intolerant. They don’t do sausage’s yet but give you an extra slice of bacon. Very good.

One of the few progressive cafes to offer Dairy-free cheese and spread. We had a delicious toastie with DF cheese, tomato and onion overlooking the promenade and beach. Staff were excellent and very friendly. Highly recommended for a snack or full meal.

They seem to take real pride in the way the food is prepared. Simple food done very well. Veggie breakfast was great. Jacket potatoes are excellent as well. Decent oat latte.
