The best restaurants in Weymouth and Portland South West

I love this Boat Cafe, I go there often for a coffee, I'm sure I used to get the right coffee a long time ago, but it's already been a few times when I've asked for a Double Espresso, and I get what I call americano(see picture). I've once sent it back and no massive difference comes back. I will still come again for a double espresso and if it will be right, I will change my review. You call yourself a Cafe the coffee should be good.

Had a lovely meal at Shalim's Balti House. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. Very good value. Would definitely recommend.

This was my first time here but my wife had been 20 yrs ago. Service was excellent, food was the same. We were a party of 5 ordering ,all ordered different dishes. all the food the came at thesame time and piping hot. Would visit again.

Not too busy, friendly and helpful staff service was prompt and they brought the toasted sandwich over to us. Relaxing and clean environment. I normally have the caremel latte with oat milk which I really enjoy and as they use an extra shot of coffee compared to Costa... However I decided to have a mocka which I did not enjoy that much, it's a bit like hotel Chocolat very intense and it's pre-mixed but vegan.

Excellent service. Served very quickly, Lovely food lovely crab sandwich. Although would be nice to have more toilets.

Lovely and peaceful on the beach front. Dog friendly and fresh/delicious cocktails. Very much gives you the feel of being abroad

Very very disappointing. What should have been a lovely birthday meal turned out to be a shambles. No prosecco. No lemons. Three of the wines ordered were out of stock. The fundamentals of a good customer service were completely lacking. The whole experience felt like the restaurant was going into liquidation. For the price very underwhelming

Codfathers used to be consistently excellent, now it’s consistently ‘Ok’. Plain sausage slightly dry, chips slightly soggy, scampi fine. The problem is that you want a bit better than ‘fine’ for £21.

I'm on a tight budget and having a takeaway is a real treat. I was so disappointed with my meal. Ordered Veggie korma. Unfortunately a handful of frozen mixed veg, 1 mushroom and half a very unpleasant reheated potato was a waste of money. How hard could it be to chopped up a few fresh veg?

Part wrong order again,straight in the bin,young girl on desk no idea,sad cause food usually good if you get what you ordered

Sadly still lacking , food ok but nothing special. Staff standing around drinking at the bar . Come on now up your game or lower the prices

This cafe has for many years been our first port of call on our days out in the Weymouth area. We visit here 5-6 times a year. Sadly I think this will be our last visit. The prices have increased, now I know that everything is getting expensive but this cafe was the cheapest in the area and offered the best food. It is now more expensive than other local cafes and the quality of the food today was pretty poor. Firstly, the black pudding. Last time I had black pudding here it was nice pieces each about a a centimetre thick. Today 2 slices of black pudding cut to a thickness of about 3mm I didn’t know you could slice it so thin. And sadly when it is so thin it dries out on the griddle. And you charge 1.75 for this. You should be ashamed, you’re robbing people! I asked for fried bread, your fried bread used to be great, nice cooked colour and crunchy to eat. Today I got at best bread that looked like it had dipped in hot oil and served pale, soft and limp! We had a bacon bap. I think the chef went out of their way to find the fattiest rashers possible. Over half the bacon was greasy barely cooked fat, awful. I don’t know what’s happened. Perhaps it’s the start of the season and the right staff are not in place but i won’t be making this our regular stop in future. I don’t want to pay a lot of my hard earned money for thin overcooked black pudding, undercooked fried bread and very fatty bacon

I had king balti on Saturday and despite the busy night they had my food was arrived on time and was very hot still I was very impressed with the delivery and the food I had a chicken tikka masala and it was delicious was very flavourful I enjoyed every bit of it will definitely order again from them
