Thought I would try new codfarthers in lynch lane.Large cod fish one end, mostly crispy batter fish dry like rubber stuck to the batter, what there was of it. £8.40 for what it was Chips not bad bit greasy. Give me the Marlboro anyday

Shame I couldn't give it no stars, worst chips I've had in my life. I put them down for the seagulls and they didn't even pick them up. Stay clear of the donner meat in the burger it's fresh from the microwave. Don't get a small chips you'll be lucky if you get 10 chips. Absolutely terrible chip shop.

My order was late because there was no divers so why was order taking in the first place if couldn’t be sure it would be delivered not good service from just eat very disappointed

Chips were lovely, Haddock was slightly overcooked, foot long was one left over from lunchtime, savaloy was cold, cheese and onion fry-it was crushed, fish cake had been sat around a while, chicken was very dry and virtually inedible.

We had an excellent take away for 11 people while staying at Portland House. The food was delivered on time and was packed very well so it stayed hot.

Brilliant local Chippy, much better than the over hyped seafront establishments.

We're having a stay in Weymouth and we decided on dish and chips and chose this place. Had a feeling it was good judging by the queue but it is worth the wait. The haddock was delicious and the chips are thick and chunky. Service was excellent but they were really busy, maybe we called at a peak time but would highly recommend them.

Cold over cooked chicken sausage rubbish won’t use this again

Second time ordering from here, value for money much better than other chippies! Both cods were huge even though I'd selected the smaller option, and was cooked perfectly for me; batter not too soft nor too crispy. Chips were nice & fat too! Cheapest place for delivery (0.99) and arrived quickly & hot. Cannot fault!! Plus freebie drink was a nice bonus!

large order for 6 people, took half an hour to arrive as stated on the app. it was all present, correct, and absolutely lovely. will happily continue to order from here and would recommend it to others wanting good fish & chips

Good gluten free fish with nice crispy batter food remained hot for a good while and was not greasy. I have returned many times since my original feedback and they have been consistently good fish and chips, normal not gluten free, curry sauce and mushy peas are also good, large fish is now £8.40 chips small £3 medium £4

We tried a few things at Cod Fathers Fish and Chips Shop, and I especially recommend the cod, perfectly seasoned with the right amount of salt and vinegar. Their curry sauce was exceptionally tasty, adding a delightful twist to the meal. The breaded mushrooms were also quite decent, making for a satisfying side dish.

I tried codfathers whilst on holiday and had high expectations when I was charged £28.00 for 2 fish,chips and peas. They were truly the most tasteless dried bland fish supper I have ever tasted. They hadn’t even bothered to add salt and vinegar, which may have helped with the impossible task of swallowing such dry flavourless food.

Just went in for 1 bag of chips they were hot freshly cooked not bad but not the best. I would say 7 out of 10. portion was a little on the small side. I would buy again from here unless I find some were better.

Avoid,Avoid,Avoid !! Truly Awful ! Ordered few things came to £19. Dried up hard chips mostly and very small pea fitter. Portion of battered mushrooms tiny size and not a normal portion.The quern battered sassages were nice though. Had ordered for myself and two menbers of my family and had to apologies to them for the awful looking and bad dried up hard food.No effort put in to make fresh chips ,pea fitter or battered mushrooms .Just give us the hard dried up chips. small peaball, and it looked like the scrapings of what was left . Disgusting .Will never buy from godfather again. They obviously couldnt care less about what they churn out. Grabbed my money £19 and threw in a load of rubbish and scrapings left. , not fit to buy. They should go out of business soon.There's a good chip shop whose food is always lovely on the town bridge, highly recommend that.

Wow! I’ve tried all the other ‘best’ fish ‘n’ chip shops in Weymouth. Codfathers is undoubtedly THE best for miles around. Huge, delicious flakey fish, perfect batter and epic chunky freshly cut chips. 11/10

Pricier than other chippies and uncomfortable service from staff. For some reason they seem to be the only business in 2024 against card payments, and inconsistent with their rules against it. Today I was told I couldn't pay on card unless I spent a minimum of £5, but yesterday I paid for the same order on card without issue, just seems like they don't want your business.

CODFATHERS Weymouth is the best go to chippy in Weymouth

When we come to Weymouth we always come here for fish and chips but last night was the worst ever, dry chips small large fish very disappointed as we were so looking forward to it .will not be going back 😡

One of worse fish and chips we have ever experienced. Asked for a large cod and chips. Was very disappointed in what we saw. Chips were very dry and it was certainly not a large cod. Even the individual who was serving us could not remember what we ordered. Will not be visiting again.

I am not a local, living some 130 miles away. But when I fish Chesil I always come here. Really nice people and the food is great. #batteredsprouts

Popped in for a battered sausage and chips... I was impressed by the way the girl salted my chips. The bag was adequate enough for the salt to spread around bag. batter was nice. Can't wait to try some fish... I always test the batter and oil before I go fishing 🫡

not the best fish and chips batter was rubbery and chips looked and tasted as if they had been keeping warm from dinner time service most of it went in the bin complete waste of £22.80 would not recommend we had it delivered and was 35 mins late

Lived here for 8 years and not been here til now. Very impressed with the haddock, nice crispy brown batter and not soggy even though cooked fresh and the chips were the best I've had yet, soft and fluffy. This will be my go to chippy in future even though I live the other side of town!

A bit disappointing, I love cod and chips when we're down at the beach, but we had to wait 30 minutes for our order and I must say it wasn't worth the wait. The batter was so crunchy and dry I had to take the batter off and just eat the fish, and the chips were cooked to much.

Diabolical ! Staff are rude, prioritizing online orders. Person was waiting before me for 20 minutes for a bag of chips. You get shouted at from the fryer, if you want anything. As a business owner myself, it’s very provincial having a minimum card spend considering we are moving towards cashless. Portion size for the price is not worth it. Won’t be going back.

Very small portion of chips ,not hot . Sausage ok but still not hot Price to high for what you get . I wouldn't go again.

Food was warm but not hot, the chips tested of rancid oil with the batter crunchy in some place but mostly soft, a shame to be honest as used to be really good but in the last 9 months as seem to go down hill. I would definitely go again as everyone has a bad day, but on this experience definitely just one star I'll update after my next visit.

Working at a Fish and Chips myself, I understand the work behind it. However, this has been the absolute worst Fish and Chips we ever had. After being told that making Cod Bites was not possible because "I cannot be asked to cut the cod into smaller pieces", I offered to pay for a large cod just to get the bites, then, the guy at the till agreed to do it. The fish was soaking in oil, the box was stuck to the food and the battered came off completely. The pineapple fritters were stuck together and the buttered came off too. The Buttered Rolls were not fresh, they only had a teaspoon of butter in the middle. The chips were very hard and not eatable. The lady at the counter was ignorant and packed everything crumbled up. We are aware of the price increase lately but we ended up paying £50 for this mess. Would not reccomend to anyone!!
