Poor delivery waited 2.5 hours!! Don't tell people delivery within a hour!! Not using again!

Checking times. Tonight. OCT 2023 Closed for refurbishment. I have to say it's the only Local Chinese Restaurant to sit in. The other two are Take Aways. I took a Take Away home. A Beef Curry (sauce a little hot)(not your normal curry sauce, in house made.) and Plain Boiled Rice. Also Fried Noodle (thin type) and Beef (not chow mein) (there are a bits of green pepper, mushrooms, in it) also asked for Bean Sprouts with added onion, (perfect) Fried Rice and Sweet and Sour Sauce. (It had in it onions, cucumber, carrots and chucks of pineapple. Got to be made in house and fresh).

I had our son and daughter in law, staying from Surrey. We ordered takeaway from Royal China, for delivery. Wow ! It was the best Chinese we had ,had in a long time. Can't wait to have again. It was all beautifully cooked and hot once delivered. 100% recommend. Thank you, Royal China

The family and our dog love this place! Fabulous food, always fresh and hot and a really good selection of veg! Lovely staff too.

Lovely, large pub, bistro, cafe. Choose to eat outside at the front, weather was lovely. Plenty of room inside. Rest room stairs, but a lift available for anyone with mobility difficulties.

We’ve had some truly dreadful meals at various Toby Carveries over the years, and to be fair some pretty good ones as well. This was the first time we have visited The Toby at Newton Abbot, mainly because from the outside it looks so shabby and run down. Drawn in by a voucher offer emailed to me we ventured there for lunch last week. Well what a huge difference the inside is, warm, bright and clean. The waiting staff were excellent despite the restaurant being busy. The carvery was hot and the vegetables not soggy. All in all a very good experience. Value for money, hot and tasty meal and simply lovely staff. Well done 10/10

This is a regular for us, however I’m becoming increasingly fed up with the managers attitude. Once again we were over charged recently, asked the female manager to resolve….. no apology, just a feeling we were bothering her. This manager really does need to sort her customer service out please.

Popped in for a couple of items early evening was quite, found what I needed no queue at the self service till.easy and quick.

Stopped on route between appointments with husband Barry. Friendly and quick service. Delicious ciabattas. Will be back to try desserts.

We love this place so much that we booked a table for 3 consecutive nights during our recent stay at Cofton holiday cottages. We enjoyed every night, the food is great, the beer selection is good and the wine list is also good. Probably my favourite pub

DONT ORDER ONLINE// ordered through deliveroo nd waiting 2+ hours after seeing rejected drivers etc. rung deliveroo and got told the reason it was taking so long is because the establishment had not completed the order and that it would only continue to be postponed or not completed at all. Used to love this place but after countless bad experiences will no longer be going to this establishment

Popped in here on our way to our holiday accommodation and felt immediately at home. Luke the landlord is very welcoming and attentive to all his customers. Food was great so we booked for Sunday lunch. It was really busy, lovely atmosphere. Sunday lunch was fab with 3 sizes to choose from which is good for those who don’t have a big appetite and those who do! Before leaving to come home from our holiday we went again for lunch and had the tempura veg for starter followed by the Yorkie Wrap which was chicken and stuffing served in a large homemade Yorkshire pudding with roasted new potatoes, peas and gravy. Absolutely gorgeous, piping hot dinner. I can also recommend the sticky toffee pudding. I wish it was our local here in Bristol! Recommend for atmosphere, welcome, food and price. Thank you Luke, we’ll definitely be returning.

When we ordered our food and drink there were no pleasantries. The pub was not busy but the two other couples there left half their food. We were a bit worried what our food would be like. We had the belly pork and chicken red Thai curry which were both very nice so no complaints there. At no time were we asked if our meal was OK although we were the only ones eating. Staff need to be friendlier and more interested in their customers. Will probably not go again.
