Amelia's Pantry in Teignbridge

We have been a few times before and the food and service has improved a lot during this visit. Food was hot and tasty and staff were friendly and attentive

Fantastic place. After a horrendous meal at the Smugglers we retreated to Amelias. The staff were super attentive. The dessert was superb. The cocktails even better & the service could not be faulted.

Shocking. If you want food cooked and delivered by kids who have no idea what they are doing well risk it. If you want decent for similar price go down to the anchor. We had chips and curry from the chippy one night. You could stand a knife up in the curry and although a decent flavour was salty. Another eve we ordered chicken in tyme and lemon. No flavour, like shoe leather on a plate of hard overcooked chips. Wilting lettuce. Thai curry significantly overloaded with salt and cold.was disgusting! So was sent back. 20 later a replacement fish and chips. Fish cooked OK. But chips fried to death, peas cold. No apology for first choice not fit to eat. No requests to see if new one was OK. No attempt to get second order right despite first order going back. Never collected plates. Shocking overall really. We have complained before about food at COften. They employ kids mostly, and look like they have nt a clue. It's a shame because the quality about this site overall is very good. Please get your food in order it's Terrible! And get better trained people in you charge enough.

Pricey but you can tell that this is local high quality food. Fried eggs are a gorgeous orange colour and I recommend the gammon. The cider battered fish however does not get my recommendation. The cider only seems to add colour rather than flavour and there's a lot of batter on what is otherwise a nice tasting bit of fish. 2 adult meals, 2 kids meals, 3 soft drinks and 1 glass of wine came to around 62 quid

Long wait for food , however was informed of this. Drinks arrived promptly. Friendly service. Our food was delicious and we enjoyed watching aircraft arriving/taking off. Definitely return.

Table booked at 19:00, food ordered at 19:15. Food arrived at 20:40, nothing difficult, chicken burgers and chips. No apologies or updates on what was going on, but got a free round of drinks after chasing order. Food when it came was ok, missing coleslaw and seasoned chips not seasoned, but as we were all so hungry, didn’t have the energy to complain. It’s a lovely campsite and location is good but seems not enough staff or preparedness to cope with start of summer holidays.

Slow service and poor communication. There was an hour wait for food which wasn’t communicated when we ordered. The restaurant wasn’t a 1/4 full so unsure why it was such a long wait. When the food came out it was enjoyable but then it took a further 30/40 minutes for my son’s jelly which was ordered in the meal deal. Disappointing to say the least.

There was nothing wrong with the order. But the efforts to do this well are definitely worth the stars. Mistakes happen, service is done.

I was so looking forward to having an evening meal and ordered the pork belly with seasonal vegetables. Waited half an hour for it to arrive and can honestly say this was one of the worst meals I have ever eaten in my life. The belly pork was a square hardly bigger than a postage stamp which my knife was barely able to cut, so chewy, the cabbage very undercooked and the mashed potato was indescribable. Never eating here again.

Set menu Gastro at Cofton. Meal stated onion mash which we ordered but chips came with the meal with no explanation until we asked. Dessert stated Biscoffee cheesecake with clotted cream but I got served Vanilla cheesecake with ice cream with no explanation. Upon asking I got told oh they must of ran out……. Would be nice to know this when I ordered it then I could of ordered something else as it as very bland

I am a member of cofton holiday park..As they had a new chef, I thought I would try the crushed avocado on toast, with two poached eggs..Omg I have never had a worse breakfast for a long time..I wish I had taken a photo..Cheap bread, Spread avocado like butter..Poached eggs awful.. All this pluss tea for £10.. I will stick to pride kitchen 3 min away..Cofton you need to go there, and order the same, just to see the quality at the same price..Very disappointed and I did tell a member of staff, but not bothered...

Went there to go into the pool and had some lunch. Brilliant place.

Use to do really good food here, but Cofton has gone on a make money whilst dropping quality drive of late. Even the chicken nuggets use to be a quality bit of meat but they have now sold out on these and have gone for the farm foods option. Disappointing, and they must be buying their drinks in from London as they are charging astranomic prices for them.

Lovely breakfast and coffee, nice and hot and cooked to perfection. Probably the best breakfast I had in months. Great service and at a reasonable price. I had a full Monty and I highly recommend it. Definitely coming back

We came here as we were staying on the site, we found service was slow as a shortage of staff. The food is self was OK, I would say just pub grub. Convenient more so.

Bad! Wetherspoons quality reheated/possibly microwaved steak and chips, cold coffee, order completely wrong, rude staff, overpriced.

I am appalled at the amount of dogs that were allowed in the restaurant. Having young children I did not feel comfortable allowing them to leave my sight with the amount of large dogs there. They were barking, fighting with eachother and licking their behinds where we were trying to eat. One of my children now has what appears to be bites on their legs. The food took over an hour to arrive and when it did was not worth the money. My husband took my young son to the toilet only to discover excrement stuck to the cubicle door. I doubt we will eat there again.

They have no qualified staff, totally slow service and the food is not at all up to par with the camping. Dry, stale and frozen fish and chips. They don't have a specific schedule, why are they disorganized, they are making the campsite lose money, which is great.

Clean and tidy with dogs aloud. My one criticism would be that the coffee is warm rather than hot but you can ask for extra hot coffee to avoid this

My partner and I arrived Sunday to Croft on holiday park , set up the motorhome and then decided to eat out rather than do our own , So we went to Amelia’s pantry for a sandwich rather than a full on roast downstairs in the warren retreat . My partner had the steak ciabatta and I had a blt ,his was really good steak wasn’t too chewy and it had plenty of garlic butter in it which he loves . Mine was full …of lettuce and the bread had dried out a bit on top ..they both came with either fries or crisps …we opted fries and they were good although I’m not a chip/fries fan . Next day it’s his birthday so we thought we might pop along in the evening as the chines didn’t deliver on a Monday ! It wasn’t late but understandably they had been open all day …so I wasn’t expecting too much ,I wasn’t disappointed…my partner had the southern fried chicken burger which was ok but looked tiny on the plate and a portion of onion rings at a whopping £5 a bowl of about 6/7 small frozen onion rings . I had the 10oz gammon with 2 fried eggs ,pineapple salsa ,roasted tomatoes and rocket salad …the gammon was ok but the char grill could clearly have done with a clean as it had lumps of past cooked debris stuck to eat ,which was like chewing on coal !!! The eggs had been totally destroyed and were beyond the dippy stage and into black and crispy ,again the griddle must have needed a clean as it was black on the bottom ….the pineapple salsa and roasted tomatoes were absent and the mixed leafs were cooked …I suspect sat under the lights on the pass or deposited on a hot plate ..the fries were ok …but I’m not keen on fries and it would have been nice to have had a choice of something different. The cost of the two meals was about£35 ….in my opinion not worth it …I did try to catch a waiter to tell him I wasn’t happy not long into the meal but they were busy else where . I did mention it when he cleaned away the plates ,bless him he did say “ oh sorry,I will tell the chef” but nothing else was said to us … Cofton holiday park is a lovely place and the bar’s restaurants within it a nice smart places,but over priced and underwhelming…in these days of high prices it’s to be expected that food is not cheap …but that was bad value too . I am a chef so I do know what I’m talking about ….maybe further into the season it will change ,come on cofton im sure you can do better .

We cycled here for a Swim 🏊🏊. Then we often have a nice Coffee ☕☕🍦🥧🍰Ice cream, Sandwich 🥪👌 or a Full Meal 🍝🧆🥙🍜🍛🍲🥗🦞🍔.. Which is always Fantastic!! As usual the Staff are always Happy to see you.. They will then tell you what specials are on the menu.. Along with Vegan Variants available. Not to be missed!!! Until the next Swim 🏊🏊 or Aqua aerobics as we often do as well. Also going for a swim and Sunday Roast.👍👍👍😁😁😁

Been twice for a roast dinner and can honestly say i wont be going back unfortunately, 1st visit was ok 2nd visit the carvery was terrible. Its right on my doorstep and i feel its a shame that they charge £14 for potatoes that are cold and the beef and pork was disgusting. I hate having to put a bad review but its the only way things change. Hope things get better.

Went to have a meal in Amelia’s restaurant. They did not have the pork belly so we asked for two chicken burgers. We asked for one without salad and sauce and asked if we could have peas instead. The lad said we could. It came without peas so I asked where they were. He went off to find out and never came back! No sorry. We were not impressed.

Very poor quality food! We ordered 4 fish and chips. Batter was unedible , burnt and so hard . Hardly any fish in batter. Management had the nerve to laugh at our complaint and said that's how fish is!

Love coming here with the kiddies, however i may think twice due to price increase of food and beverage. It was £7.50 for a portion of chips with cheese and £4.95 for a Mocha!

Amelia's currently closed for refurb. Nothing wrong with it when we visited last year! Little notice for guests, big impact on guests though.

I would have to say that the prices are a little expensive as they have a captive audience on site from holidaymakers etc.

Amelias is closed for refurb at the moment so the area downstairs is being used. Food was good, excellent service and very friendly staff

Staff were very accommodating of dietary requirements, servers were more than happy to clarify details with the chefs. Fantastic experience for someone needing gluten free food.

Had a lovely fish finger sandwich here today, was really lovely. Reasonably priced too. Wonderful attentive staff so polite and helpful. We'll done all. Makes a change to go somewhere where people are so friendly.

Don't order the fish and chips. The battery is Gluten Free even though I'm not but no choice in the matter and this makes it really hard and crisp. Not like batter at all. They have stopped their once signature dish Pork belly. Best thing in their menu, it's all fast food pub grub now. Too much corner cutting.

While staying at Cofton had cooked breakfast, and also evening meal, staff very nice and helpful food very good and reasonably priced would recommend

Love coming out here have done for years with my friends and there kids.. I came out with my 3 month old first time and I was abit disappointed with the soft play area inside. Its more for the big kids to run along the edge and jump over. My little boy was to small to go in but I wouldn't feel comfortable with him in there when he's bigger as its abit to open. The bit for the bigger kids is great just needs a bit of attention to the soft play. To many cushions in there and not fun. Just my opinion.. again love coming here food always great and staff always lovely. Was great to see it so busy yesterday.

I had the seafood linguine while my husband had chicken, ham and asparagus filo pie. Both meals were delicious and portions were generous. Quite noisy with children still in the soft play area which spoilt the ambience a bit

Best meal I’ve had in a long time, restaurant quality food reasonably priced, I’ve payed more money for crap this is really nice hotel standard food, and your not ripped off because you are in a holiday park

We had breakfast a couple of days and both days the food was delicious. Best poached eggs on GF toast that I have eaten ever. Runny, fresh eggs cooked to perfection and the GF bread was yummy too. Coffee also very good.

Excellent service and gorgeous food.

Whilst staying at cofton holiday park, we visited Amelia's 3 times, on all visits, the food was just delicious, hot and plentiful. Even at decent price for the food. Gin was lovely has well. Can't fault the staff, always helpful and constantly cleaning. If staying at cofton, you need to eat at least once whilst your there. We did eat at other places but, not has nice as Amelia's.

Everything top class, the staff were not only very helpful but everyone seemed to enjoy everything they did & the staff in Amelia’s although young were clearly conscientious about standards & ensuring guests were comfortable & given excellent service. Note * the food in Amelia’s was excellent especially the Tandoori chicken &chicken supreme 👏👏 to the chef.

It’s very unusual that I am not giving 5* for cofton but unfortunately our experience when eating at amelia’s for Sunday lunch was awful. This has never usually been the case but they failed terribly in this occasion. We were told Sunday lunch was served 12-4. We therefore booked for 3. We placed our drinks orders and this arrived at our table 20 mins later. We then went to place our food orders at 3.34 to be told they had stopped serving Sunday lunch. However I explained we were told they served until 4. He said not sure where you have seen this but it’s 3.30. I had a least on arrival which confirms 12-4! However he let us order. I have coeliac disease so explained would need gluten free. When food arrived mine had gluten on the plate and got served with cauliflower cheese which also contains gluten. A few of meals were only barely warm too. We then got another meal. Again the cauliflower cheese was out next to other veg and the waiter said “I know you cannot eat the cauliflower but you can give that away to someone else!” My daughter chicken was hard as rock and husbands potatoes were still cold. Previously before ordering a gentleman came and brought his chicken dish back as it was raw! We did get complimentary drink and pudding. Ordered Eton mess only to get ice cream and cream! They couldn’t even get that right. The whole meal was not the usual experience we have here. We were there to celebrate with friends for their 50th.

We stay at cofton regularly and eat here at least once on in our stay. What a lovely place to eat, happy friendly staff, really nice food, nice sized portions all hot and yummy. I would absolutely recommend having food here.

Wonderful view out but the coffee was small and lukewarm and tasted like it was made with uht milk (or the milk was off). Having said that, it was a nice froth on the latte. Based on the drink, we didn't try the food.

Amelias used to be good pre-pandemic. Now the menu is very limited/confused. The food quality has also dropped, eg/cold chips, burger and tea.

Website online implied a wide range of foods considering allergies and intolerances, however, the provided menus were simple and only offered one vegan option as an alternative. The times advertised online for food (Lunch 12-5) was a flat out lie, the kitchen had closed at...

On Sunday we had Sunday dinner and were very disappointed with the service and the food it came cold and my wife had nutmeg it came that cold we had to send it back it arrived 1st time without yourshire but when they brought it back it had a pudding for nearly £60 for 4 dinners we will not be recomending to eat there again and we have eaten there lots of times before very sorry

The food is amazing here.. have had lunch and dinner here. Portion size is good and food is served up really nicely and is delicious

We have eaten in and had a takeaway from here during our stay at Cofton Holidays. Family of 4! The staff, on the whole, were very friendly and the food was delicious! I think I had “the best burger I’ve ever had” as I declared...

Originally a 5 star review then a 3 and now back to 5mafter separate visits .Great breakfast and well organised social distancing rules. Staff polite and helpful. Have booked for another day..amended to a 3 from a 5 as the follow up breakfast had stone cold baked beans and other elements just warm. Mind you the steak and eggs the 16year old ordered was good and hot..waitress offered free coffees and was apologetic. Evening meal planned for tomorrow so will see if the stars come back . 2021 .. back again as here on holiday. Breakfast was perfect this time. So back up to 5stars.

Ordering from the app proved to be painfully slow, but then the waitress took our order at the table and service was good.

We ordered from the app which you have to because of COVID. Three burgers (one was a kids meal). After 40 minutes we asked if someone could find out where our food was? Five minutes later it arrived and my burger was at best luke...

Good food arrived quickly slightly over priced but nice setting to sit in. Desert cake arrived quickly but the sweet desert arrived about 50 mins after it being ordered NOT worth the wait 😉

Visited a number times whilst on holiday. Extensive menu, wonderful customer service, tasty home made food, safe covid outdoor dinning systems and a safe to order app in place. Very accommodating

1st visit Monday, with family, crispy squid, chips and onion rings. Squid ok, chips tasted dry and charcoal like, onion rings pretty solid and burnt ( pretty awful if I’m honest) . No one asked how our meals were - and hard to approach anyone...

Taking good care of customers during this trying time

We came for a family holiday and this was actually our 4th year of returning. We arrived on Bank Holiday Monday and rather late on the eat out to help out and we had bit of a below par experience but the manager and the team dealt with it very well and invited us back for another night to show how good their food really is and boy was it. We have had an amazing holiday in the new lodges but the food and the service was amazing as always and we cant recommend both the restaurant and the holiday park enough.Thank you

Came in at 2pm for our lunch, although it was the 50% off deal it was surprisingly quiet. Although it must of been busy as the 5 or 6 tables surrounding us had not been cleared. We ordered through an app and had to wait around 25 minutes for our drinks. Our drinks were sat on the bar waiting to be brought over for about 5 minutes and we decided to go and get them ourselves. There was one bar man working trying to do all the drink orders. The food came out after about 45 minutes. The nachos were very hard on top like they had been sitting under a lamp for a while. The waiter said the plates were hot... They were not clearly been siting on the side again. The best looking plate was actually my daughters toddler meal of burger and chips. The garlic bread came out and it was the sorryest looking garlic bread I have ever seen about 1cm thin and about 8 inches long. It clearly wasn't cooked long enough and tasted of dough.There was no tomato sauce as they had been so busy. I suggested they look for some on the other eating area down stairs and they found some. During this time we spoke to a lady about 3 times about the issues we were having not once did she offer us any money off or apologise. Luckily it was the 50% off deal otherwise I would of been really upset to pay that much money. Each adults meal was around £10. In the past it has been good here not sure what has happened short staffed?...

Great place for a good breakfast. Recommend the full monty breakfast! Staff were friendly and service was quick. Mobile ordering was fantastic and staff promptly corrected a mistake in our order. Set on a lovely caravan park, made us want to stay!

Nicely surprised by the good choice on the Gluten free menu. I had fish and chips and this was amazing quality and absolutely delicious! Staff were lovely and knowledgable

A table for ten, 7 adults and 3 babies, nothing was to much trouble and as ever delicious food - we eat here every week, 2 adults and 2 children in those times post a brilliant Water Babies swimming session and each and every time food is great only bettered by the service, thanks to all especially Rebecca.

It really is a great place to swim and have a meal the staff are brilliant very attentive to all your needs, food was brilliant. We came in December for the same for another family member and decided it was so good we would come again.The family swim at Cofton every week super clean pool great for all ages

Lovely and clean pool with water jets for the young ones and underfloor heating in the changing rooms. Lovely cafe with soft play for a coffee afterwards. Bay far the nicest pool in the area.

We visited today with family for a swim and carvery. Although the pool was busy and we need to wait half an hour for a slot, we enjoyed spending time in the cafe having a very tasty coffee whilst out toddler ran around in the soft play. The pool itself is clean, warm and light and my toddler particular enjoys the fountains and bubbles. We had a Sunday roast dinner in the restaurant downstairs. The chef served us himself and we had a lovely chat about all the options available at the carvery. The food was delicious and a very reasonable price. We will definately be visiting again as it was a fun and easy day out.

We just booked a last minute one night break. We used the indoor pool, sauna and steam room. Had a lovely dinner in the Swan. The whole site is immaculate.

This was our first visit to Cofton, with our 2 boys and 2 dogs. We stayed in the EXE 6 berth caravan, which is a fantastic space. There were some lovely touches with a basket for the dogs, equip with blankets, bowls, treats etc to everything you need for cleaning the caravan etc. The facilities are lovely, the staff can’t do enough for you. There is plenty to do in the surrounding area, including some lovely walks and beaches. We have enjoyed it that much, we have booked again for next year.

We came here for Breakfast on Christmas Eve, we loved the food it was well presented, hot, and plentiful. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very friendly. This is our second visit to Amelia's pantry , we visited here for breakfast on Christmas Eve two years ago and the food and service didn't disappoint then either.
