The best restaurants in Teignbridge South West

Superb food with a huge selection to choose from. Very friendly and efficient service. We had been recommended this restaurant and very glad we ate here. Shame we live so far away but we will be back as we visit 3/4 times a year. It is only a small space so I would recommend you book!

Lovely meal, good food, nice ambience, clean, lovely staff. Enjoyable evening! Even the kids enjoyed the food.

I had an absolutely fantastic lunchtime meal at The Sandygate Inn! The food was delicious, freshly cooked, and bursting with flavor, with generous portions that left me thoroughly satisfied. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this charming pub for a top-notch meal in a cozy, community-focused setting. I’ll definitely be back!

We were recommended a visit to this pub, it was well worth a visit, even though a slightly challenging journey. The food was very good, and the service was excellent .

We came for a breakfast after looking at reviews, we usually go to a well known cafe on Shaldon side but thought we would switch it up. Staff were friendly and nice coffee. However the small breakfast was VERY SMALL for £12 was about enough food for my toddler. I understand one of each which is what we ordered but a teaspoon of beans and 3 tiny button mushrooms? Could be a little more generous. No pepper on tables only salt? And everything was very oily. Better value for money elsewhere:

Came here today (5/4/25) for lunch. The food came out and it was stunning. The roast beef was excellent. Then a member of staff decided to completely spoil it by standing right beside the table for the whole duration talking to other customers about her "colonoscopy" and various other medical conditions. Couldn't believe it. Won't be entertaining the idea of coming back, no matter how good the food was. This wasn't the lady who served us it was a different waitress. Appalled to be honest.

Highly recommend this place as a wonderful summer venue We have just enjoyed the best ploughman's lunch we have ever had .We sat in a sun baked lovely courtyard with a cool breeze and had ploughman's for two .When it came it could have fed 4 adults Two large platters with the most deliciously selections of cheeses x3 local ham,stuffed tomatoes silver onions,chutney coleslaw salad,celery herby olives fresh home made bread,a huge selection of quality cheese biscuits, and because I asked for them king prawns in Marie sauce .Every bit was delicious, and withouta doubt its going to be our go to local summer lunch time venue. Staff were so attentive 10/10

I find them hard to beat for the chunky lovely fish, crispy fresh cooked better, great chips and all so friendly there

Always came here for a drink as a local, cold drinks and good service. Live music was a mixed bag but some of it quite good. Great view from the upper deck. Didn't try food as they did not provide the service.
