Very attentive young lady greeted us and then took our order. The service was done by the young lady and a young chap who were very friendly ,polite and happy. The food and drinks were excellent with my wife having pancakes and myself a bacon butty. Great place to eat with the bonus you can take your dog in.

The cafe is advertised as being open from 9am on a Sunday - both online and in the window. We turned up - as did many others - to find it closed! Appalling!

An excellent restraurant with a wide range of food. All food well cooked and generous in quantity. Helpful staff. The range of food has increased over recent yrears.

Ordered a small plate......omelette with mushrooms, chips and salad and this was excellent, no skimping on any of the products or quality! Ordered a main meal...eggs champignon, which was poached eggs with mushrooms on a muffin and this was on a tiny plate. All tasted good, but the muffin was a bit dry. There seems no organisation in this place as food was being delivered from the front of house and the back? Also, the 'cook' appeared in a hoodie? I know everyone can wear what they want, but there is no professionalism and a bit of a worry with cleanliness if there is no apron or standard of dress.

This has become our regular choice for brunch - the menu is quite extensive and with great prices. I usually have their breakfast or my favourite is Eggs Royal. Staff are always very friendly and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. Well behaved dogs are welcome and they have free WiFi too 🤩

Myself and my partner came in September 2023 and everything was exceptional, so we decided to bring our family along with us during our Holiday in march 2024. Unfortunately the decline in standards was immediately noticeable. Stone faced, uninterested servers who lacked even basic hospitality skills, came to our table whilst drinking their own drinks, and a chef who was drinking on shift. Our food came out seemingly as two separate tables, with the adults at the table being served first, and the children at the table being served once we had almost finished our meal. When the children's meals arrived they were all dry (all 4 had pancakes) and were informed by the staff that the bacon pancakes were served with Maple syrup, which they were not. When we asked about this we were told we'd be charged for the maple syrup dropped on the table without any communication, apology etc. Overall a terrible experience and we won't be returning, a huge disappointment as the previous visit was exceptional and we were looking forward to showing our family.

We ordered breakfast (one with no beans) and coffee (one with hot milk). After 25 mins we had to ask for the coffee - which then came with cold milk. The breakfast came out as the hot milk was delivered to the table with both plates covered in baked beans! So one got sent back and when that eventually came out it was like the breakfast of two tales… the original breakfast was luke warm when it came out and looked like it had been sitting in the pans for 3 hours, mushrooms all shrivelled. Mine were hot at least, and fresh. We both had brown toast - which was the cheapest most awful toast I’ve ever eaten - you’d think, given the amount of bakeries in Teignmouth that they could’ve offered something a little better quality. All in all rather disappointing and sorry to say we will not be coming back any time ever again.

Friendly to humans and dogs! Warm, cosy, welcoming - just what was needed on a cold, sunny morning. You can always tell when a place is good as it's full of locals, but not so full there wasn't room for me.

We all had an excellent breakfast, this cafe never disappoints, definitely the best breakfast in Teignmouth

Such slowwww service, we waited over an hour for our sandwiches to arrive, by which time our drinks were well and truly finished.. During the wait we were constantly offerec food that was for other tables, clearly showing that the staff had no idea what table had ordered what food. When eventually the food arrived, the sandwiches were decent enough, the chicken was good, and tasty however one of our table ordered a sausage sandwich which consisted of cheap sausages on 2 slices of cheap supermarket bread. Very unappealing.

We ordered two meals. The first being an omelette with cheese and mushrooms, which came with salad and fries, this was excellent quality and tasted lovely. The second was mushrooms with poached eggs, served on a muffin with hollandaise sauce and this was also excellent quality. We also ordered two lattes and these were perfect too. We were very impressed with the meals and we will return. The only criticism we have is that our drinks, and then our meals were delivered to another table. Table numbers would be helpful to ensure this does not happen to others.

Looked this place up before we came to Devon. What a place, very surprising for a cafe that does Sunday Lunch. Please don’t be put of from the outside as it looks like another old fashioned seaside cafe . It beats any pub or restaurant we have eat Sunday Lunch in. It was absolutely beautiful, very traditional with all the trimmings, prober meaty gravy , and so much that even us who never leave anything, we pushing our luck. So it’s a must , if you don’t go your definitely missing out. Well done to the girls who were front of house , very polite and had everything under control , and for the young generation your a credit . Keep doing what your doing Oystercatchers .

Lovely little cafe with a really good and varied breakfast menu. The food was fantastic with lovely happy smiling staff . Even the toilets were spotless with an extra female touch to them. Cant fault this fabulous little cafe.

Day trip to Teignmouth, looked like a nice cafe, what a disappointment! Bacon has black and hard, eggs over done, beans clearly boiled for a long time, cheap brown bread. At £9.75 I expected a decent piece of bread. Wouldn't pay over £5 for this food and we waited ages for food to arrive even though it wasn't busy.

Delicious Breakfast, staff were friendly and helpful. Good choice of Breakfast options to cater for everyone.

While the feast was being created ..... sorry. .. I mean cremated.. I took the time of looking on trip advisor.. 20 min for a breakfast . Wasn't even busy . Over cooked eggs ..over cooked bacon. Soft hash browns.. reheated with an inch of their lives beans.. partially toasted cheap budget bread....if I'd had read the reviews beforehand I'd AV swerved this place ..along with the god awful voice of the massive rearend woman that seated . Took money and yacked on while coochy cooing a baby on next table at the top of her voice. Grungy god awful place

Superbly friendly staff. Great place. Dog friendly. Lovely food. Definitely worth a visit. The main lady that served us was lovely. Very friendly.

Despite the fact that the cafe was super busy we were welcomed warmly and seated quickly. The food was delicious ( we both had the poached eggs on toast with guacamole) and the dog enjoyed his free biscuit.

Fist time visiting the cage and Teignmouth. Had a great warm welcome from the lady front of house. Charming cafe with seaside feel. The hot chocolate was fab and so too was the toasted tea cake. Chef brought out the tea cake and, again, so friendly. I too often go to the big chains when out and about - not when I'm next in Teignmouth. I highly recommend this cafe.

What a lovely cafe! Our first visit to Teignmouth and the cafe. I had the vegan breakfast and my partner had the champignons eggs benedict. Beautifully cooked, well presented and served by friendly, polite staff. A super place to visit.

Excellent food and drink, lovely casual atmosphere, staff very professional and friendly. We had several coffees here and finished our week with the fisherman’s breakfast which was superb and extremely good value. We were impressed with their COVID precautions including the screens and space around the tables. Really very well done all round. Thanks all.

Since taking over last year, the new owners of the Oystercatcher's Cafe have vastly improved the breakfast offering in terms of both quality and quantity and achieving this without any noticeable price rise. Thankfully, they have not changed the decor which still retains its original comfortable and cosy seaside vibe. So the great Full English Breakfast that my companion and I devoured on our latest visit here - the 'Skipper's Breakfast' - comprises bacon, sausage, hash brown, free-range egg, mushrooms, grilled half tomato, baked beans and toast. Coffee (really good) was extra, and the total bill came to exactly £9.40p each. There are many other things to choose from listed on their breakfast menu including vegan and veggie options, breakfast baps & sandwiches, smoked salmon and a variety of 'egg dishes', eg. 'Mexicana', 'Royale', and 'Florentine' (for more details see the photo I took of their menu). Friendly and covid-savvy place, seating divisions, clean loos and freely available sanitizer here and at the entrance. Just one minor niggle - nowhere to put your used ketchup and sauce sachets (perhaps a little dish instead of dirtying the table?). Booking probably advisable on Saturday morning as they get busy busy! Looking forward to the next time . . . .

Luckily we had pre-booked for a wet Sunday morning as they were turning people away at the door. I went with a friend who is a vegetarian with dairy intolerance (whereas I am a proper carnivore)! They had great options available for her including a vegan hot chocolate with different milk choices. I had the biggest breakfast which was delicious (especially the bacon).Great service and very COVID-19 friendly and safe.

Location good for going onwards to seafront or shopping.The staff were friendly and fun, great sense of humour.Food great and reasonably priced.They took care to follow Covid guidelines without getting officious.They also found and kept some property left behind by one of our party.

We came to Teignmouth for a few days break and ended up having breakfast here every single morning. It was very welcoming, did social distancing well, looked nice, had lovely staff and high quality food. It was also vegan friendly and dog friendly - they made a great fuss of our dog and gave him treats. Traditional breakfasts but also a large number of other options to suit all of us.

Just called in on the off chance mainly for a cup of tea but because of the price we also decided to go with a fisherman's breakfast and we were glad we did what an absolute gut Buster a d bloody lovely with it can not recommend it enough well worth a visit we wi definitely be going back

We are having a week's holiday in the area and decided to have lunch here. Best decision of the holiday. The menu is quite extensive and it was a job to choose. I had the fisherman's breakfast and my wife had a Mediterranean pasta. I would recommend both.If we get the time, we'll be back. Great food, and served with a smile.

Have been here before but first visit after lockdown. Covid measures in place but doesn't feel over the top or in your face. Food was served very quickly and had eggs Italian which was so delicious. Booked a table as wanted to make sure we had a space, it was busy but not crowded. Lovely lunch, thank you.

Service and friendliness of the staff was fantastic and welcoming, the meal again fabulous, tasty and filling so much that we had to take our frangipane tart home with us and that was gorgeous.The coffee also great but it was the friendliness and food that takes this place to the next level.We had the ham, eggs and chips and it was fabulous so a big thank you to all at the Oystercatchers Cafe.

Staff gave lovely service, lovely food and drinks. Gammon steak and eggs were cooked to perfection and my partners food was beautifully presented. Will definitely be coming back!

First time here in December (2019) in many years with a second couple. Found friendly/Helpful staff & a wonderful breakfast. Once of our friends is vegetarian & they were very impressed with thier meal. Alsp very dog freindly.

We had a wonderful brunch today. It’s a lovely, friendly cafe focussed on great service, local produce, delicious food & catering for most food requirements including vegan. My mother-in-law said her Eggs Benedict were the best she’s ever had, & the hollandaise sauce was delicious.

We vIsit this place regularly and can't speak highly enough of it. Friendly staff and a good choice of home cooked food at reasonable prices. Dog and child friendly. Would particularly recommend the soup of the day, which is always a bit different and very tasty.

I visit this cafe whenever I am in Teignmouth. They have a good selection of meat and veggie dishes. The vegan breakfast is lovely and the shroom and nut vegan burger is possibly the best burger I have had.

Very friendly and lovely food with lovely options appearing on their specials board. It’s become our Sunday regular. Loved the beef stew and dumplings.

We arrived (reserved table) at the end of what was clearly a busy shift. The staff were delightful and, despite a few hiccups, we left with big smiles on our faces and happy memories of the food we'd had. I thoroughly recommend the Eggs Royale :-)

First off, dogs are allowed inside. Popped in for a coffee, which was 5/5. Lovely friendly staff and a really nice cafe with a good atmosphere.We did not eat, but the food we saw looked good and was reasonably priced.Can highly recommend and will definitely visit again.

Every now and again you come across a restraunt or cafe that is a real gem: this is one of those occasions. The food is excellent and very well priced. It is themed around brunch or all-day breakfast. But that is by no means all. It has a good range of light meals and can offer lunches such as hame egg & chips. Their eggs benedict is the best in Teignmouth, probably best in thethe south west. Other delights include eggs florentine and, of course, a really good full English breakfast, with vegetarian options. It closes at 3pm so go early. The staff are really friendly and helpful and, if you have a dog, you will still be welcome. This is one of those places that the locals know about!! Well worth finding.

What a great place, the best hot chocolate ever and cakes. Really good service. The lady really wanted customers to enjoy their experience there. Would definitely recommend for lunch or cakes and a hot drink.

We have just had a baby and we always stop in here for a breakfast and coffee whenever we can and have had 0 complaints about the food ever and we go In once a week ! The only difficulty is manoeuvring the lay out with a pram or even if we just have her car seat room is limited but we always find a way to make it work !

Popped in for lunch and had sandwiches but would definitely recommend as the food was gorgeous and the staff were excellent. Mouth was watering watching the hot food come out but unfortunately had a big breakfast earlier. Will be returning when next in the area.

Stopped off at the Oystercatchers today (not for the first time) for a latte coffee and a bacon sandwich. Inside was packed, so, it being a glorious day, I ordered and then sat outside at a table on the footway.

We used this a lot on our holiday, my husband used it for his morning cup of tea when walking the dog each day, the place was always welcoming (and dog friendly!)

I went to this lovely, warm and charming place and had their vegan breakfast on my first morning there, my girlfriend opting for a baguette, and we both agree it's one of the finest breakfasts we've had and went there for a second breakfast the next day. I was very impressed and loved both the food and the fantastic, chilled atmosphere.

We love this cafe, it’s always great food, and the staff are happy to alter the menu to suit. We will keep coming back!

We’ve been coming here for over 25 years, it has changed hands several times, but the quality and service is still top notch. Even though it was an extremely busy Saturday morning, our pot of tea, latte and bacon baguettes arrived within 15 minutes, and our bacon was perfectly crispy, just asked we asked. Ten out of ten. If you spot a table here, grab it!

Had a fishermans breakfast and a caramel iced latté. Both were very tasty and lovely. Staff very friendly and efficient. Very happy to help anyone. Would go back again.

Went in for a quick light lunch and we were impressed by the available selection as well as the friendly can-do attitude of the staff. Worth looking on their facebook page for some of the evening events, we found the folk club a fascinating experience

I visited this cafe today for lunch. The service was welcoming, friendly and prompt, the food good and excellent value for money and the cleanliness very high. It had a great community atmosphere about it. I feel prompted to write this review as I believe a very rude and angry customer will write a critical one about today’s events. As this man entered the cafe he said loudly across the cafe to 2 ladies walking in front of him ‘I didn’t want to be stuck behind two old ladies dithering about where to park their arses’. This changed the atmosphere somewhat and the two ladies left immediately and I don’t blame them. Unsurprisingly the food was not to his satisfaction either. So the small locally run cafe not only lost out on two customers but also had to refund him for his food. Local businesses do not need customers of his ilk and I think the chef was correct in asking him to politely leave. Well done to all concerned!

I had the skippers breakfast this morning and it was lovely. Been a skipper I found the irony quite amusing.

Enjoyed a great lunch with friends today, staff were friendly and attentive. Quality local food at a fair price. I can't see a lot that's changed since new ownership, still using the same local suppliers. New on the menu today was a twist on Mac and Cheese, a Mac and Cheese Bomb, very nice. Looking forward to our next visit.

Visited Teignmouth for first time in a while to be pleasantly surprised by the re vamp it had been given. The kids and I stopped off at Oystercatchers for some brunch and I would strongly advise going. The food was tasty and the service was great I totally recommend it.

I have been visiting The Oystercatcher Cafe for several years whilst on my annual Devon holiday. We never miss an opportunity to call in to The Oystercatcher. The menu on offer, staff and friendly welcome was just as good as it always has been :) Try out their veggie breakfast - its a treat (even has Linda McCartney sausages!)

As locals and regulars we are seeing the demise of what was the place to go for the best breakfast in town. The past 3 times we’ve eaten here there seems to be different staff on duty and the food has gotten worse each time, I started to smell a rat when they changed the sausages on the breakfast, a small issue maybe to some but a decent sausage says a lot about a full English.

I haven’t been here for a while but was really impressed. The menu is much more interesting but still has the old favourites. The staff were really friendly and attentive and there was a lovely atmosphere with plenty of dog owners in. I had this unbelievable mighty breakfast burger! I will be back soon...

Having been a regular for some years we were hoping that the new owners would keep the little gem as it was, sadly they didn't and haven't.

Sadly I put pen to paper re our last visit. We are local people and have always supported the restaurant however since the new management its dreadfull. The food wasnt up to par, the till a nightmare for the staff and this caused an unnecessary queue which got all of us grumpy and the staff stressed, the toilet was dirty and the poor staff stressed out while I assume the new owner just watched on.

Wouldn't usually criticize somewhere i used to go to often but the last two times i have been i have been disappointed.. The staff could of done a lot more but guess were tired. one older lady however trying to get on top of it so excused her for the chef bringing the food out which was strange and yet did not manage to spot that he burned my bacon but didn't say anything due to coming regularly. Chef provided service whereas the other server was on ipad? disappointed.

we arrived and sat at our table placed our order for scrambled eggs with smoked salmon on toast arrived very quickly it was luke warm and very dry also the toast was dry.We have eaten here before and had a very good meal this time we were disappointed to sat the least.we will be back because we think this was just a blip!!!!

Popped in for a quick drink to get out of the bad weather with 2 adults and 2 children. Ended up ordering food for us all. Food was excellent and staff looked after us superbly.Great find on a wet and windswept day.

The food has really gone down hill. The staff were really rude. The soup was absolutely revolting and the prices have gone up. The food is not as it was, since it’s changed hands. There’s no WiFi either, absolutely awful.

I know, things change, time moves on but surely not our favourite cafe in Teignmouth! Now under relatively new ownership the Oystercatcher has cast its last net for us! We, the three of us have been regular customers of the Oystercatcher for several years, visiting most weekends and Holidays and Highdays. Since “the two sisters “ took over everything has changed. Most of the regulars have gone. The staff that are left our brilliant but battle weary worn down by the increasing demands of “The Sisters “ we always felt welcome and at home in the Oystercatcher but now the atmosphere has gone the same way as the food, Down The Pan! That’s if you’re prepared to wait long enough to even get it! The new super chef they’ve employed always looks filthy on his regular trips to the toilets and his whites fall far short of the accustomed colour! We have kept on going because we just love the staff and feel we want to support them but alas no more We can only hope and pray that “The Sisters” move on to a reportedly new venture in Honiton or move the Oystercatcher on to somebody who will restore the Ambience, Atmosphere and yes The Fun that came for free in the Oystercatcher we locals all knew and loved, R.I.P Oystercatcher M,W, E.

I first reviewed this cafe in 2014, after frequenting it regularly and being happy every time. This happy experience lasted until December 2018. We have been in here 4 times since then and it's really obvious how different an experience you get now. The owners don't acknowledge your existence and I had what can only be described as a fried hot dog sausage on my breakfast, the last and final time we went in.

Our first visit since new owners and we were not dissapointed. This reataurant has a homely, intimate feel. The staff were pleasant and helpful, the service was prompt and the food well cooked and tasty.

On Saturday no omlets available cold beans on fried breakfast just poor quality continually changing systems knives and forks now have to be collected meaning that staff spend a lot of time giving them out instead of serving food hand dryer in toilet not working

The food and service was first class and we would recomend any person that is in the are to use it and it is very handy to the car park and the sea front

Popped in on Thursday 28th Feb for a lite lunch well that didn't happen had the Bosuns it was to die for, all meals came well presented all staff on duty where friendly and helpful. Will be coming more often that's for sure!

Been coming here for a few years, always been great. Would appear there's a new chef as the specials have just had a great leap forward. Home made scotch egg salad today was remarkable. Chef, you've got a new fan.

This is a beautiful little cafe in the centre of Teignmouth. It is on a lovely little street surrounded by other cafes and pubs but this one shines the best with its great staff, delicious homemade food and contagious coffee.

I am a regular visitor and am never disappointed. New menu, just as friendly staff, and better choice for veggie and vegan. Lovely, always enjoy a breakfast and a mocha, thanks!

How hard can it be, 2 tea cakes, a tea and a coffee? Well, tea cakes arrived, had to ask for more butter (woman not happy), no cutlery at the table, no customer engagement at all.

This friendly and comfortable cafe was a great find, they provide a very good selection of nicely cooked food along with excellent coffee and all at very reasonable prices, we loved it.

Visiting Teignmouth today we went to this lovely cafe for lunch. The atmosphere is really great & the owner Alex & her staff are delightful. We ordered the eggs benedict, a panini & one of the vegan special. All meals were excellent. The coffee was really good & have no hesitation in recommending this cafe. We notice when walking around that this cafe had many more customers than others in the same location. If the locals eat there thats telling you something excellent.

This was our favorite breakfast cafe this summer holiday. Nice location and great breakfast. like to come again.

My wife and a stopped for a light lunch on the way to a Torquay hotel which provides a 3 course evening meal.
