Second time here on a Saturday although no other tables. While having the starters, a local man who phoned an order in walked in straight in to the kitchen in nasty clothes, the manger and chef didn’t care too much that some bloke walked straight into a professional kitchen! EHO need to visit this restaurant and soon. Paid for the starter and left. Owner couldn’t care less. Avoid. From a restaurant manager this would be absolutely unacceptable.

Great late lunch with family, biggest haddock I have ever seen. Had that locally caught ling, calamri and my wife just cheesy chips. All with crispy fresh batter, chips golden but soft inside. Even cheesy chips were top, 1/2 chips, then cheese, more chips and topping of more cheese. All top quality, even the ice cream and with nice pints of Otter, bitter & ale on tap. Great way to end off long walk on the beach. You won’t be disappointed..

Its a lovely place in a beautiful setting ,great atmosphere and the service is good .The food however is expensive rather overpriced and not that good ,my supposed Thai monkfish curry tasted nothing like a Thai curry normally does it tasted vinigery and very chilli hot and not very tasty .The fish pie was watery, tasteless and my friend left a lot of it .The deserts were better and well presented but at £10 a dessert they should be good .The same company own the Bridge at Mountbatten and it serves basically the same menu we have been there too and find the food better cooked .

One of the best experiences of eating out we’ve had ever! The food was perfection. I had the king prawn linguine- full of flavour and I could have eaten the whole dish again despite being happily full. My husband had the steak frites! Which he also said was one of the best meals he’s ever had out! We are regular foodies and have been to the most exquisite fine dining, Michelins star restaurants nationally and globally and dick and Wills was a new gem we have discovered. It will be hard to eat anywhere else when frequenting salcombe after finding dick and wills! Oh and the cocktails… outstanding! I have finally found my drink… l highly recommend the lychee martini if u like sweet cocktails. Go enjoy dick and wills - you’re welcome! 😊

Walked there from Salcombe which took about 30 mins from where the ferry drops you off uphill. The views are amazing and had a drink outside first. We all had the beef roast which was perfect, starters of pork croquettes which were also amazing and shared a dessert of the magnum ice cream - mind blowing. The service from the delightful Dylan was spot on. This is our second visit and although much quieter inside than when we went in Feb 23 it was a wonderful experience.

Booked before we came on holiday and started to feel a bit nervous as some reviews mentioned they weren't very welcoming to tourists, well I don't know where they were but not here for sure. Had the warmest welcome from the start, staff were lovely and food exactly what we hoped for, Sunday Roast was perfect. Tender pork, crispiest roast potatoes ever, tons of tasty gravy and cauliflower cheese that actually tasted of cheese! Loved it all and somehow found room for the dark chocolate tart with raspberry sorbet WOW!

Having been to The Angel and enjoyed Ellie’s superb cooking and the staff’s attention to detail, we were looking forward to having breakfast at Embankment, now owned by The Angel. The food was excellent and the location is great, right on the Dart with lovely views. Unfortunately, we seemed to go there on a day when the member of staff serving was not paying attention to the customers. We were offered a seat which did not have a view outside to the river, despite not many table being occupied. Drinks orders were taken and menus provided; that’s where is seemed to go wrong! We had to ask for our order to be taken which is why the table of four behind us, having arrived 15 minutes after us, go their food at the same time as us. The waiter told us several times that we would ‘have to bear with him’ when asking for another coffee etc. Two other people who appeared to be working at the cafe were more interested in the passing schools kids and waving to them than what was happening in the cafe. It took two members of staff four visits to one table to turn it around!! It was a shame as the day before we had stopped to pick up two takeaway coffees to go on a boat trip and the guy who dealt with us was very friendly and helpful. It is not a bad place; great location, great food, lovely coffee and lovely fresh OJ that tasted as if it came direct from the orange a second ago. It was a shame that the member of staff serving us did not seem to retain what we asked him for, hence my wife getting a fried egg instead of poached and our food taking more time than it should. Having said the above, I would certainly rate it as a good place to get a meal.
