Staff wonderful, building characterful if shoingnits age a little. Rooms noisy but comfortable. Would definitely visit again.

This is an old coaching inn and approaching the reception area does not give a good impression, however once you have been greeted by the friendly staff any reservations disappear. We booked on line and technology had had its moment as it appeared that we had two bookings for different lengths of time. This was soon sorted out without fuss by the staff and we were escorted to our room and helped with the luggage. The room was spacious and along with the bathroom clean. The towels and sheets on the bed were sparkling White. Tea and coffee making facilities along with a selection of biscuits and bottled water. Elemetis liquid soap and shampoo in the bathroom. Bed large and comfortable. The restaurants are fairly dark as the hotel has a great depth but the cooked breakfast was good. The continental could do with a larger choice, such as bananas and a fruit compote as water melon not very enticing with yoghurt. Enjoyed the stay and would book again when visiting the area.

We went to the Seven Stars with friends, for a Saturday lunch. The staff were really polite and efficient, the food was lovely and arrived quickly. We swapped our table to sit outside and make the most of the weather, which was no trouble. We had a great time. Just a tiny thing the tables outside could do with some renovation or replacing.

Lovely Sunday Lunch sat watching the world go by. I'm coeliac so require a gluten free meal, the server's where pleasant and knowledgeable. We all ordered the beef which was delicious and tender, the only thing I couldn't have was the Yorkshire pudding. The lunch was served with plentiful veggies including red cabbage and cauliflower cheese, carrots and broccoli. We will be back . Yummy 😋

Seven stars is our go to for meeting friends and family! We love the food, the atmosphere and the staff are the friendliest, professional and such a warm team. They are always accommodating and look after us so well. You cannot go to Totnes and not visit the seven stars!

My mum and I had a wonderful stay and particularly enjoyed our dinner. The food was delicious, I had the fish and chips which was gluten-free and my mum enjoyed the pie and all the delicious veg. Julie, Lily, Phil and Miles went above and beyond to make our evening wonderful. They were super friendly and welcoming and we will definitely come again when we are in the area.

Great food, friendly staff but service was really poor after initial food order. Empty plates on table for 20 mins. Had to call staff over to clear. No offer to order more drinks at any point. Staff walking past tables looking everywhere but at tables. Sat again at end of meal waiting to pay for 15 mins. There were only three tables sat in restaurant so not due to being busy. I’ll repeat though, the food was excellent. Great choice on the menu and every meal was superb.

We often go and love ro share starters. Julia, Lily,, Phil and Miles all do a great job looking after us.

Quite a busy place but no-one seemed to know what was going on - the tables weren’t clean, didn’t know what soup it was, and to say it’s now a St Austell pub, I was totally underwhelmed. We were sat next to someone who bought a pint but was eating his own food! ….. Quite pricey and minuscule portions. Hardly any vegetarian / vegan options. I was so disappointed in my ploughman’s….the bread was 1/2 frozen baguette and on the small oblong plate it was served on had 2 little pots, (one with chutney in, one with 2 butter squares) to fill it out more. Then 2 microscopic pieces of cheese (that’s the veggie option as they don’t usually do a veggie option) with a tiny ball of rocket…there’s a beautiful bakery across the road. Why can’t they support local businesses and buy some decent bread? Im sure I paid around £14 for that aswell. Sorry but not for me.

This review is submitted on behalf of all 8 of us having lunch today, as not all are familiar with technology. We were warmly welcomed and served beautifully by Lily. Drinks came quickly and food service was commendably speedy given our numbers. Meals were reported as delicious by everyone in the party and we were pleasantly surprised.

Perfect cosy autumn roast and pints! We went for the lunch after the night before with magnificent old friends. It was perfect, friendly fun staff, lovely other guests, great roast!

Stopped at the Hotel for 2 nights at the weekend. Also had our evening meal at the hotel both evenings. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The bar areas are nicely decorated and there is a nice vibe in the Hotel, appeared popular with the locals. The food was your typical pub food but all nicely cooked and presented. Good range of options for breakfast. We were staying in room 18 which was a bit tired looking, we had our dog with us so not sure if that is why the room was not as nice as the pictures on the website. As a nice touch, dog bowls and bed are provided and a nice goody bag for your pooch. On the whole we had a really nice stay and it is well located to explore Totnes and the surrounding area.
