What a lovely place to spend an afternoon! We were fortunate to be able to sit outside on a lovely sunny day for lunch. The BBQ worked really well and you could easily spend the time ordering nibbles from the menu and drinking copious amounts of Rose

The most lovely place. The views over the inlet are stunning. We loved the food. The lobster was fantastic. Great service and well priced wines. We had a child, the children eat free in July was a lovely touch. They can have a burger or fish and chips. We could only manage one course, we had eaten too much during the day. Would have loved to have tried more dishes. Come hungry. Enjoy.

OMG probably the best lobster I have ever had - a total taste sensation and treat. Phenomenal flavour in the black garlic butter lobster, I could have eaten dozens of smoked lobster arancini, and dream of the linguini - we will be back. Lovely friendly staff, can't urge anyone enough to go.

This pop up restaurant is well worth a visit, lovely building with tables inside & outside. Service from Clare & her staff was excellent and the food is genuinely the best in Salcombe. The prawn & crab tian was very well seasoned & the fruit de mer linguine was tremendous

We went with good foodie friends on the opening night 2024. The team were finding their feet in the pop up but were super friendly and engaging and the food from Jamie was excellent. Clare was super friendly. Recommend the hake. House white wine dry and fresh and zingy.

The food was nice, but quite rich. The wine list was limited. We sat inside but the lighting was very bright and the furniture all felt re-used. It felt a bit like being in a school dining hall. They definitely need some candles and mood lighting. There was nice music though. It’s obviously a great spot and has the potential to be really good.

Booked an indoor table for two, but the staff were amazing at accommodating us and setting up an extra table for us outside. The food was amazing, however a little bit more information on the menu with regard to allergens, would have meant that the poor waitress wouldn’t have to keep going back and forth to the kitchen. Also, be prepared for a long wait for your starters, nearly an hour for ours, but definitely worth the wait. Overall, make sure you book early, and before they shut at the end of the season. Fingers crossed they reopen next year.

Absolutely perfect! Fabulous food with glorious views. All aspects of the meal, from the service through to the food were excellent and that included catering for some picky children!! When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely lady who brought us to a table in the library with an incredibly stunning view of the estuary. The lady was attentive explaining about the pop up, the food and menu. The scallops, crab salad, brill and smoked lobster were all divine! While ordering she was able to modify parts of their menu to accommodate for teenage picky eaters in my family without issue! Whole meal was delicious, would love to return.

We have loved Jamie’s food for ages. Always a great treat! Even better in the gorgeous Cliff House Library with stunning views. Yes it is a pop up but that adds to the charm. My crab with tropical fruits was amazing and the risotto was sublime. I was happy to trade perfect napery for stunning views. Even better to have fine dining right in Salcombe

Salcombe needs a high quality fish and seafood restaurant, and we were looking forward to our dinner there. A pop up is a great idea, but unfortunately the experience fell short of our expectations. Cliff House is a stunning location with beautiful views, and it was a warm and sunny evening. Unfortunately only 4 or 5 tables had been set up on the large terrace and we were told we would have to sit inside. The room was set up as if for a wedding reception with 4’ round tables, usually seating 8 people. Our party of 4 was placed at one of these huge tables, with paper napkins and table cloths, in the middle of the room. It felt basic particularly as large grey catering trays of glasses and cutlery were placed openly on the table behind us. The menu is good with a range of locally sourced options which sounded delicious. However the wine list is provided by Cliff House with limited options. Our starters were good, buttery scallops and a pork terrine. The staff were friendly but seemed busy and quite stressed and it took a long time for our main courses to arrive - we were seated at 19.30 but did not receive them until 21.00. Unfortunately the sole was small and overcooked, chicken and sea bass were good. The overall bill for 4 starters and main courses (no sides) and a bottle of mid-range white wine was £260 which seemed quite high. I really wanted to love this place, but we left feeling somewhat disappointed. Hopefully as the season continues the service will improve and the Smoking Lobster will find its rhythm.

Food and wine is terrific but all feels a little bit “pop up”, come on guys camping tables, paper table cloths and napkins??????? A little bit of white linen would go a hell of a long way……..also be brave with some ambient music too would be my best advice!

Delicious food, terrific location and view, charming staff. A great addition to restaurants in Salcombe and just as high a standard as its sister restaurant, Twenty Seven in Kingsbridge. I cannot recommend it highly enough. With luck and support it will become more than a temporary pop up. Well done chef Jamie!

4 diners who really enjoyed their meal. One with a smaller appetite requested a starter for a main - which came as she was eating her starter surely it’s not beyond the realms of communication to give the chef this information. Room a bit sterile as paper tablecloths round tables and no flowers. Wine from Cliff House list good choice nasty glasses filled too full by the waitresses. All the food was delicious and perfectly prepared

We had heard of this pop up restaurant and were lucky enough to be visiting Salcombe when it was running. So glad we did. Salcombe really needs a fine dining experience and this one did not disappoint. We arrived and were seated by the window with the most amazing view. I had the lobster arancini which was delicious. My wife said the risotto she had was one of the best she had ever tasted. If you are in Salcombe check if it’s open and book a seat you won’t be disappointed

The new location of the Hairy Barista is my go to place in town for everything good….. There is nothing these guys can do wrong in my eyes…. They serve great coffee, chai ( a definite favourite of mine)amongst many other interesting things inc Kombucha and Kefir drinks… I love their food offerings wether it be a simple filled croissant to their always hearty soups or specials. I will continue to support them as often as I can afford. They do things with the most amount of integrity and genuine passion and that means a lot in my world. You only have to look at how busy they are day to day to know they have hit a sweet spot 🙏🙏

What a great, lovely little pub, nice and cozy, great service and when it came to the food, well, outstanding main courseoff the specials board, great portions, you will not be(shouldn't be) going home hungry. Highly recommend Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening

We realise that this restaurant cannot provide a large menu especially during the autumn /winter but on our evening the fish choice was not on (replaced with a lazy prawn dish) and out of two desserts the crumble was also not available! Feel this is lazy as there is so much fish available locally and the excuses to not provide an apple crumble is in fact rather lazy from the kitchen. If you only want to offer pizzas and burgers, fine but don’t disappoint people with omissions.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Expensive for what it is. For example a small piece of frittata and a very small salad for nine ounces odd. Went home and had toast to supplement. Disappointing as had heard good things.
