Love this place, always lots to choose from and freshly cooked, and the portions of chips are very generous. Really nice cod too, definitely worth a visit.
Well, 3rd day in England and quite by chance found this lovely hotel. Wasn’t sure what to expect but from the moment I walked in, I was charmed. The staff are brilliant - they were attentive to our needs as ready to help with anything. The room is wonderful - big comfy double bed, bed side lights, desk, comfy chairs, TV and wardrobe. Windows on either side of the room give a through draught. The bathroom has a full size bath and shower. I feel very comfortable in the room. Dinner was amazing. I had crispy fish and chips, best I’ve had this year. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the pie of the day and said the pastry was to die for. The Grange was built in the mid 1800s for a local vicar. The building is a tad tired, but we loved it.
What a great service. The food was hot and plentiful. Every thing is fresh and so tasty. So glad of a hot meal I didn't have to cook. Will be ordering again and again.

Best fried chicken in Bristol!!!!
The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, and making every bite absolutely delicious.
The place itself has a cozy and welcoming vibe, perfect for a quick bite or a casual meal. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring a great dining experience from start to finish.

Driver went to thornbury not oldland! Normally this place is good but driver cancelled my calls 3 times even though it’s his error. Any other time impressed however I’m starving! Still waiting!
Wow, what a dreadful experience.
Cold soup, no spoon to eat it with.
Ordered a pot of tea, no milk, after asking twice, I still had to go and ask again for it.
My drink didn't arrive, had to chase it up. The whole thing was a total nightmare. Pricing on menu unclear. Would not recommend.
What a fabulous restaurant- we booked for a family birthday of 13 with 3 children. The staff were absolutely fantastic, keeping food & drinks served & the cake brought out at the end with our coffee.
Definitely recommend…
Visited with a friend - great lunch menu. Very varied and reasonable - beautiful food. We liked it so much we've invited the rest of the family for a birthday meal (x18 people) for the evening menu. Hopefully we will like it just as much :-)
We were out walking on a Friday afternoon and scurried into this community café because it had started to rain. We had dressed for moderately wet weather, but the wind was in our faces and thus better avoided. Besides the chance to have a sit-down, and a coffee, was too good to ignore.
The community café here in Lyde Green is housed in the community centre and, being well-after lunch-time, it was not too busy. We ordered two medium sized Americano Coffee’s with hot milk from the pleasant waitress at the servery. The coffee arrived promptly and it was acceptably hot, but sadly it was not very strong. It lacked the rich bitter flavours that we particularly like when we have a coffee out.
The cost was £2.75 per medium-sized cup, so it was about the going rate, but other local cafés provide a better, and stronger, cup of coffee.

I use a Powerchair and attended a function upstairs. The first thing I must say is just how lovely all the staff were, friendly, welcoming, extremely helpful and accommodating. There's no lift, but there is a stair lift. Fortunately my Powerchair is light enough and so was carried up the stairs. There's an accessible toilet with a sliding door, tho it's heavy so may need assistance.
I'm also vegan, which I mentioned on arrival. The function had a lovely buffet, which everyone enjoyed, but wasn't suitable. However the chef had put together a lovely spread for me, a mix of sandwiches, salad, crisps, and made some delicious non-fish fingers and small potato wedges. Also the most delicious and enormous flapjack. Superb, especially at such short notice, I felt very 'seen'.
We all had a lovely time. It was a memorial celebration for a dear friend (husband, father, grandfather) with family and friends, 2-7pm.
The room was nicely presented, with round tables, white cloths, and navy blue fabric coverings on the chairs.
We were able to bring equipment for a display, but note it must be PAT tested.
We all had a great time, a really lovely celebration in a nice setting. Definitely recommend, tho I'm not aware of the pricing.
Walked in the pub where the owner/landlady was smoking outside. Not a great first impression. Went in to be told they were only doing roasts. At 1.15 they only had 2 chicken left. We ordered and sat out side with our drinks. The waitress called us in to a very empty restaurant area where are meals were on the table. Lots of roast potatoes and some meat. We asked when veg was coming out to be told the had run out of veg the night before!!!!! We couldn’t believe it! We told them we didn’t want it. The landlady/owner did offer us to take meals free of charge but that wasn’t the point. We have been before but the fantastic chef they had has left! We’ll never go back. Needs a complete revamp and new chef!
