Fox in South Gloucestershire

Walked into the entrance there was two separate families waiting to be seated.... the dining area was virtually empty. Waited nearly 10mins the people first in the queue still hadn't been seated so we walked out. Joke.

Manager was fantastic, the place spotless.. very well kept..

First visit in a few months but once again everything was superb. Extremely pleasant staff and a really cosy setting. We opted for steak as it was 'Steak Night' and they were delicious. Meal very well presented and it was extremely good value for money. Will be back quite soon this time.

Our server Andy was amazing! Such a character made us feel very welcome. And was there for all our needs. He even predicted what I wanted for dessert lol 😂

Chris, the bartender was very welcoming, attentive, charismatic and entertaining. He was professional and helpful and we would definitely visit again after this pleasant experience. The food was hot and delicious, as it should be.

Decided to book a table to have Lunch with my wife. I had Steak & Ale Pie, and she had Fish and Chips. Andy served us and was a very friendly, efficient server. Our food arrived very quickly and was delicious. The restaurant has a pleasant atmosphere and was busy but not overcrowded and we had a nice table location. We love going to the Fox for Lunch Dates

Andy was lovely tonight, checked in on us a couple time to make sure we were having a nice evening, the food was lovely I had a kebab and fries luuush!

The food menu was alright. The steak came in with no gravy or sauces. Hence, it was dry. Steak pie was nice sized with literally 4 small steak pieces in it. This doesn't justify the price for it.

Going to try and provide a balanced review but it's hard to be positive about our experience this evening. Firstly the Fox no longer does table service this was already enough for me to not return I might as well go to a Witherspoon if I have to use an app to order. Secondly the order did not come out as we felt we ordered, not sure where the mistake was but then IMO the serving staff compounded the issue by insisting we found the emailed receipt for the order instead of fixing the mistake. They insisted we must have received the receipt even though we had definitely not received it and still haven't. Then they said they could look the email up on there system but they where currently busy, I would have happily left at this point and taken the loss and ordered somewhere else. Anyway we did get food eventually but I won't be returning.

I had a table for 16 people for my birthday. The accomodating manager sat us in a area that was suitable for my disabled Dad and was private for the amount of people that were there. Staff were amazing with professional standards and patience as taking the orders was not easy with that amount of people. The waitress was lovely and there was no rushing to place orders. The service was outstanding and we all mentioned how lovely the food was and there were 16 clear plates for both starters and mains. Would like to say a massive thank you and how relaxed we were made to feel. A wonderful pub and brilliant birthday. THANK YOU. 😀

The food was good, staff were friendly but not overbearing, order was correct and in good time, it was busy without being loud or intrusive, we were given space and time to eat and not feel rushed. It was a lovely evening

A very friendly and welcoming pub. They have created a lovely atmospheric pub in the Fox. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. They have catered for our family members allergies when they have joined us. The menu has a great selection and the prices are reasonable

My wife ordered the roast beef very disappointing the carrots where rock hard, the beer had no flavour and very chewy, the gravy had no depth of flavour like it was just gravy granuals and there was not enough gravy so quite disappointing we normally go to the Coddington arms who's roast beef is much better.

We had our dog with us, but this was never an issue. Having an outdoor but covered area was perfect. We had food, which was hot and delicious. Not expensive. We've been here before because it has a real understanding of allergies and dietary requirements, which allows one of my family members to eat with all of us, rather than bring his own. Would definitely recommend this place.

Lovely place to eat especially with a group of friends. Plenty of car park spaces, wheelchair accessible, nice varied menu.

Haven't been here for years but will be returning soon. Food was of a really high grade, beer was lively and the staff friendly & really helpful. Outside of the pub looked fantastic and very inviting, and the inside was spotless. Obviously a good amount of money has been invested in this place and the owners should be proud

The service was excellent, very attentive and asking about our meals. The food was lovely but the main enjoyable experiance of the evening were the staff members, they can not do enough for you to make you feel welcome. Especially Andy and Martha who we have had the privilege of knowing for a long time and Harriet a new Runner.

We arrived at the largely empty restaurant at 5.20, having booked a table for four on a weekday evening. We asked if it would be possible to be seated at a particular table but were immediately dismissed by the seater because all the tables in the restaurant were apparently booked. This seemed a little churlish, since there were several four seater tables to choose from, all in the same area, but we accepted the seater's choice anyway. The food was lovely and the service was good, but we remained in the restaurant until 6.45 and couldn't help but notice that the table we requested, as well as three other four seaters, remained empty in our section for the duration of our visit. Since tables are booked on the system for an hour amd a half, it put rather a dampener on the evening to learn that the seater had simply been unwilling to facilitate such a small request at the start of our visit. We enjoy the food here and it's become something of a tradition to visit for celebrations in the family, so I'm hopeful this downturn in service was a one-off.

Visited The Fox this evening with friends, we were seated and greeted by our waiter called Sam. We ordered various meals each and we all were happy with what was plated, all very hot and arrived in good time. All food tasted delicious, the service with Sam was excellent and friendly and we were overall extremely satisfied with our visit.

All the staff were very friendly. The food was fast, hot and very tasty. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Excellent food and prompt service especially for a busy Friday night. (3 adults and 1 child came out in less than 15 minutes) The only thing that let it down was the new ordering system, it's fine for those who are tech savvy but alas I'm not one of those people, that being said we were able to order at the bar. Also it's worth mentioning that not every phone has a QR scanner. Still worthy of a 5 star review.

Always good service, lovely food. We were warned of the 30 minute wait for food, it didn't take that long. We like to visit as a family of 4 when it's 30% off mains as a treat. It was a busy Friday night, the staff were all friendly.

We go to the Fox for lunch each week, and we go despite the food. We like that it's clean and comfortable, not many children and they have waitress service which includes drinks. Unfortunately we have to put up with the limited menu and poorly prepared food.

Sunday lunch on 9th March was worse meal ever food cold gravy like water for what we paid not enough on the plate

Andy was a lovely server, very kind and attentive. However I found the meals to be overpriced and on the GF menu there are no prices I didn’t know how much I was spending, plus the soup says it comes with a bread roll but I was given a slice of plain bread that disintegrated as soon as I spread the butter on it. I thought they had run out but I had one with my burger. Over all the service was very good, but the food needs more consistency and pricing needs to be adjusted. Same issues with most Marstons Pubs. Service 9/10 Food 7/10 Price 5/10 Hygiene 9/10

Booked a table for 19:15 still sat waiting for a table at 19:40. Other people that had bookings later than ours that came in after us were seated. Found staff pretty rude too. Very disappointed as usually really like it here.

The bar and waiting staff were very attentive unfortunately the food was not good. We all agreed that the food lacked flavour which left us very disappointed. One of our group was happy with the pizza . All the other meals were off the pub menu. The mixed grill - Chicken was dry and steak was chewy. Lasagne - lacked flavour as did the cowboy burger. The chicken wings had no colour and unappealing.

Lovely food we had a mix chicken platter and fish and chips- the cod was massive, and the chicken was cooked beautifully. All the staff were great and polite. Lucy was brilliant- she was efficient, polite and quick. She really was a shinning example of how I wish all waiting staff should be. Great experience thank you!!
