Panahar Bangladeshi & Indian Takeaway in South Gloucestershire

We've been ordering deliveries for a year and the food is always good quality, tasty and good value too. They even accommodate our requests around dietary requirements. We've never eaten in, so can't comment there, but the delivery drivers are friendly too if that helps.

Went here on a Friday night. Barely any lights on in the place, took 10 mins to get served even though we were the only ones in there. Food was okay but bhaji and naan were old and stale had just been re-heated. Owner is a very rude guy as well

Went here based on reviews. Visiting area, so paid for Uber etc. The welcome was non existent, barely any lights on at 6pm on Saturday night. Waited for anyone to come out of kitchen for about 5 minutes ..maybe a bell notification on the door would help. It's basically a takeaway place. Very cold, no heating, had to put out coats back on. No atmosphere at all, could do with some background music. A couple who came in left very quickly, I suppose because they never got served quickly enough !! The toilet for an Indian restaurant was very spacious, it's a shame they have not maintained it after their investment. No toilet roll.....despite all of the above, the food served was excellent and value for money. Don't forget to take your own alcohol.

Had a great takeaway, just eat notifications accurate , food on time and great value, really tasty bhuna and dupiazza.

One of the best. Value for money 10/10 Service cannot fault it. I have eaten in many many place's rate it with the best for Value and service and the two Great chefs. Will be back. Bob Chapman. I hate Oil and this was one of the best if not the best for no Oil.

The food was quick but the chicken tikka masala tasted of butter and nothing else.

Pros: -food taste good Cons: -we had a scheduled order it showed up an hour early luckily we just got home -cheese Naan had barely any cheese -meat was very fatty

Great Indian Takeaway - available for pick up and Deliveroo. Passanda was creamy and delicious plus the highlight was the giant onion bhajis. Everything was great, will be ordering again.

Pashwari nan was a greasy small pancake, disappointed! Late delivery, the rest of the food was ok

The food was good, the place felt like the restaurant was a side business to takeaways. I understand that was how businesses needed to behave during covid lockdown but it doesn't inspire people to visit for a sit down meal.

Really oily curry’s (like so oily it stains everything it touches and there is 2cm layer on top the dish) The Naans are not that garlicky and they forgot to put the poppadoms in the bag. Couldn’t be bothered to go back after the drive to collect it. The onion Bhajis are very good and the flavour of the curry is nice.

Used to love this place but feels like they’ve lost care for the food they make. Garlic naans are just sprinkled with garlic powder and a creamy and mild special curry ordered came with ingredients missing and based on a spicy tomato base. Really disappointed

Placed an order at 7, due to arrive at 7.30, still waiting. They said driver had been in an accident and were sending another driver out to collect food. This was over 20 mins ago and still no sign. Restaurant is 9 mins from our house. Will not order here again.

Good food but poor customer service.

Food turned up on time however was inedible and one of the meals was wrong. I phoned and the man shouted at me that I didnt know what I was ordering!! We all like very spicy food but the food we did have was completely inedible as was soooooo hot!! Have been ordering from panahar for years but never again!!

This is the best takeaway Indian food i have ever had. We have used them 4 times now and the food is consistently delicious. We have only had takeaway, but they deliver and their app is excellent. Highly highly recommend.

Order from here quite often and the food is generally tastey but also had a couple of slow deliveries and had the wrong food delivered a couple of times or a soggy nan. No one wants a soggy nan. Quality has gone downhill recently

Recommended by my AirBnB host - wasnt let down by the food! The meat kadhai was spot on. They have a good range of starters - prawns puri and bombay aloo are highly recommended. They serve quality food and sizeable food portions which will leave you 100% satiated. Thank you guys!

Great food, great service. I have been ordering from Panahar for a few months now. Each time the food is great and the service is very good. It is also well priced. The only issue might be some delays in delivery, but that is understandable in the current situation. I would definitely recommend.

Good prices and tasty food, bring your own drink makes it less expensive meal out.

Picked up a takeaway, not too impressed. Got to almost halfway through the paneer naan to find some cheese, which was minimal to say the least. The poppadoms were all broken in the bag, in total don't think I got the 2 I ordered and paid for. Pilau rice - fine. The curry tasted good to be fair - the reason for extra star, but the container was barely over half full. Oh and no complimentary sauces you get with some places. Don't think I'll return. Shame

First class Indian food. We ate in, rather than takeaway. The restaurant is small and simply furnished. The food was served to us piping hot, the portions were generous and very tasty. We would be happy to eat there again any time we are in the area and looking for a good Indian meal.

There's not many Indian restaurants/takeaways that I've not tried in North Bristol but this one is right up there with the best for food quality, not the greatest place to dine as it's a bit in need of modernizing, grab a takeaway you won't be disappointed 😋 .

This place is my go to takeaway when having Indian. Great selection, always well prepared and delivered quick. None expensive, and great value for what you pay for. When visiting the restaurant the staff are friendly and the service is always top notch.

Fantastic food at a very reasonable price. The restaurant is not flashy but basic but don't let that put you off. It is a BYO as they don't sell booze, you can also take your own soft drinks, no corkage charge.

OK but not the best Indian I've had

I brought the tandoori mixed grill for £10.50 and was no way worth the price, stay clear of this item also chips was soggy. Overall curry was nice and lamb was tender.

The food is incredible, very authentic and flavour some. Prices are great and the staff is friendly, helpfull and happy to accommodate customer requirements. Can't recommend Panahar enough!

Ordered from here the other night only me and kids didn't eat it but my partner did and he was up all night really ill, called the next day to make them aware so they could do something, but all he got was pure bad attitude, just glad my kids didn't eat it...will never order from here again..

Busy enough that there is a nice atmosphere but not so busy you can't get a table on short notice. Delicious food, huge portions. We didn't realise it was a bring your own, but just meant we had more room for amazing Peshawari Naan. Will 100% come again.

Taste ordinary. People there got big attitude. Wont give bill. Moreover they ask what is the amount of bill you are going to make?! Nowhere else seen this. Stay away

Interior not quite represent the experience but the food here is amazing! We are regulars and have been coming here for year! Recommended is the chefs special chill garlic masala! Mmmmm delicious

I ate at the Restaurant yesterday and the food was amazing. Great tasting curry with soft nan bread and rice. Would definitely recommend this place and will be coming here again.

My local Indian restaurant.. Very small interior, but really friendly and attentive staff. Food is really tasty and a great price. They do a deal on Wednesdays too which is great.
