The best restaurants in St Peter and the Waterfront Plymouth South West

Staff were friendly, but let down by gross incompetence within their team. Note, the restraunt was no more than one third full. After 45 minutes our starters arrived, with the unwelcome news that our main courses were also ready and did we want them all together. No we didn’t and we were assured they would be remade. A further 45 minutes passes and our, presumably, original main courses arrived. Two lukewarm pasta dishes and a burnt pizza, a sheepish looking waitress declares these will be on the house. Food was edible and my son ate his burnt pizza. We also had a birthday voucher for £15, so the whole experience of dinner for three cost £30. However, it was nothing like the pleasant evening out we had planned. We will be striking this place from our list of eateries.

Return trip from two years ago when enjoyed lovely breakfast. Terrible experience this time. All food was Luke warm, tea cold and sausages were still raw and pink inside. I drank the tea and asked for a further cup explaining that the first was cold, the two female staff were overheard bemoaning the fact that I had asked for another cup even though I had not asked for a free replacement. When advised that she sausages were raw and pink inside they just said ‘oh dear’ no apologies. They did offer replacements but who wants to risk this and also to eat the sausages separately to the rest of their meal. Neither females appeared surprised that the food was so poor.. This was a Bank holiday Friday and the restaurant was empty. Clearly the locals knew something I didn’t. Definitely won’t be returning again.

I can’t fault this place the people are nice, the food is delicious and hot when it arrives. I don’t understand what other people are complaining about have always had great customer service and food!

Pero este tiene el personal más amable y agradecido de todos los tiempos, particularmente Natalia, es muy amable, atenta y elegante. Ella se asegurará de que disfrutes tu comida y de que no falte nada; además, ¡siempre tiene una sonrisa en su rostro!

Started well but went down hill, if only the food and drinks lived up to the enthusiasm and energy of our waiter Joe. 4 of us out for an 18th birthday and entered to be greeted by Joe, very lively and friendly asking any preferce on where to sit. Asked for a view as it over looks the the water and it was nearly sunset, we was sat near a window but the best seats had reserved for staff which wasn’t used and really the area should of been for paying customers. Anyway we ordered drinks, cocktails as it’s a birthday and pina colada to get the night going. Out comes this watery looking mojito. I asked and it was confirmed to be out of a can and asked for it to be changed which it was, first issue resolved. Food ordered and number written on our papers so each meal is give. To the right person. First meal comes to the table, we have no clue what the young girl said as she stands there waiting for instructions. No that’s not our food. She walks off and then takes it to another table, 2 minutes later and she back with two more plates, nope the fact we can’t hear and she doesn’t know the numbers she walks off. Back again and yep one of them is ours. Another 10 minutes pass and we get some side/starters. Burnt gyozas not the best but we eat and just pass it over. The other mains come out and 2 of the 3 noodle dishes are burnt. Not the best and to be honest you get better from the local noodle bar. We did have 1 meal refunded but as a whole I wouldn’t return considering the cost and quality of food. Only reason for 2 stars was Joe was actually really good and it’s a shame the food and drinks didn’t live up to his standards!!!!

Came for a birthday party drinks and food was overpriced the food was ok but not great the place wasn't very welcoming but decorated with the Mexican theme as advertised not the best for fussy eaters not a great choice not the best place I have been,also not the worst but would not return again.

A decent place, good service and excellent for watching sport.

Maria is the best. Excellent service and pizza. The best pizza I have had in England Perfect host Maria treated us so well and food was Delishous. Thank you Maria. Thank you Angelo Pizza best in England. 10/10

A great little pub with good customer service and a good selection of both ales and largers and spirits

Muy, muy amable servicio. La comida era increíble, el mejor sándwich en un salón de té en mucho tiempo. . . Perro amigable también! ! !

Acabo de volver de vacaciones y quería un menú de 3 platos con una buena relación calidad-precio al final de un largo día de viaje. El personal estaba por cerrar pero eran más que dispuesto a permanecer abierto y luego nos hicieron sentir muy bienvenidos. las porciones buen tamaño y una excelente relación calidad-precio

Food was simply delicious. We tried the Kung Po Special, Mapo Tofu and spicy peppery chicken wings. Mapo Tofu was silky smooth and full of flavor! Service was excellent and the stafff were polite, attentive and made some recommendations. I would highly recommend Lee Gardens which offered a high quality cuisine and impeccable service!

We enjoyed very good times at Platos and have been disappointed that there has now been a lack of any activity or responses for a long long time but today we were delighted to discover that the unique (for Plymouth) premises have been taken over by the Knead Pizzas business who have managed to survived and emerged through the Covid years first in The Market and then at the Lord High Admiral but have now blossomed into the perfect space here at the top of Finewell St. We shall be down here again and again.

¡Salimos caminando de nuestro campamento y logramos perdernos por completo! La orientación nunca fue mi punto fuerte. Nos encontramos con este encantador pub con la ayuda de Google Maps. Al principio no parecía abierta, pero probamos la puerta y afortunadamente lo estaba. Recibimos una cálida bienvenida de la camarera del bar, quien también nos ayudó a tomar un taxi de regreso a nuestro campamento. Bebidas deliciosas y algunos paquetes de patatas fritas que eran muy necesarias después de que nos sorprendió el clima británico :)

Regularly watch the football at this venue, plenty of screens, great atmosphere. Forgot to mention cheap drinks
