Disappointed really to be honest, having recently eaten at wagamama’s in Cardiff our expectations were high The food was average Thai beef salad was indifferent, lots of lettuce ! The medium rare steak strips were really tough , supposed to be the finest cut The broccoli starter was the outstanding dish for us Seemed to be a lack of chefs working , but the staff we’re friendly and helpful

Really unique venue, we had a really nice meal here. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and allowed us to sit near the window even though the tables were laid out in a slightly strange 4 - 2 layout. Food tasted as good as ever.

First visit. Great setting with lots of space and nice decor. Food was amazing. Shame it didn’t all come out together but apparently that is the norm. Only downside was when we arrived, asked us to sit on the end of a bench with another family. Totally understandable if busy but there were 14 free tables! Saying that, when we asked for our own table, they happily obliged. Would definitely go again

Friendly staff and nice food. But service needs a lot of improvement. After sitting down, it took 30 minutes for someone to take our drinks and food order. When the food did arrive, one of our dishes was given to another table by mistake. And then one of our dishes was missing (which meant one of our party had to wait another 20 mins for their food). We then had drinks and food that we didn't order arrive at our table. It's a shame, the food was good. But the service organisation is a bit of a mess.

What a place. I suffer from social anxiety badly normally I don't like to eat out as with the anxiety i have a very bad Sutter. Normally I will have my sister order everything as its embarrassing but at wagamama Plymouth I was able to order my own dessert for the first time. This was down to the staff. I felt very confortable. When we were seated, we asked for a seat by an wall. He gave us a choice to have the back corner or by the sea view. Normally this request gets an eye roll but he was very lovely. Our waitress Zoey was brilliant. I can not sing her praise enough. She helped us work out the menu and saw I was struggling to speak with her there. So she ordered us chilli squid to pick and gave us time to decide. The food was picture perfect and tasty! Everytime we were checked on is it was like an injection of happiness the staff are so caring and attentive. Honestly can not compliment her enough. The most hilarious thing zoey did will stay with me forever is bring over the dessert menu opened them and said "it's time. You gotta treat yourself" and the walked away. Her whole attitude was brilliant. When she came back I ORDERED FOR MYSELF! I get it was 3 words but without a sutter. I felt great. My sister rang the restaurant and told the manager we had a great time 5 minutes after we left. Definitely coming back. For anyone that has any anxiety about eating out go here the staff are so friendly and the food amazing.

The gyozos are delicious and make a great starter. In fact every dish we had was really good. Each dish came out at separate times which meant I had to protect my plate from marauding forks from those on my table who had eaten theirs but had no food left in front of them! Service was good but wish we had been told that each dish is cooked separately so we could have shared

So, so impressed with our visit today. My stepdaughter has a nut allergy and the way it was handled was amazing. Sometimes the allergy can be treated as a bit of a nuisance but in this place? It was like she was a celebrity! A full colour-coded chart was displayed so we could cross reference and identify which sharing dishes were safe (quite a lot made the cut!). Then she was told the head chef would be cooking her meal personally after thoroughly cleaning the prep area for safety. Absolutely amazing :) Another of our party ordered something off the cuff and was a little disappointed with what arrived. No problem: comped dish and menu returned to the table so she could choose something else. Absolutely wonderful experience at what I was expecting be a quick ‘in and out’ dining experience Great job by the team.

We came for a birthday and they took the initiative to ask for the name of the person who’s birthday it was so they could join in with the Happy Birthday song, as well as a member of staff who’s name we presume to be Liv was giving us really nice conversation when she knew the topic and made us feel very comfortable the whole meal. On top of all this the food was such a lovely quality of cuisine that we don’t get to experience often in the south west, especially not at this standard. I would highly recommend Wagamama because they also serve FREE green tea!!! It’s been a very good first impression at a place I’ve fallen in love with xxx

Wagamama is in a great location, and an interesting old building in Plymouth. I visited with friends and we were all impressed with the staff and the building itself. Unfortunately the important stuff ( the food) doesn’t match up. Service was really quick, but there were a few mistakes made which resulted in the food coming out in a strange order. Mains before sides, forgotten side orders that turned up at the end of the meal after reminding the staff, it was all a bit disorganised. The staff were very good, but seemed to be struggling to keep up (it was busy). We all ate our food but it was just ok. The other negative is that both the ladies and gents toilets were not the cleanest. Ok for a quick bite but don’t expect to be blown away by authentic Japanese food.

Second time we have been here, came when it first opened left disappointed then sad to say things have not improved, great location good looking menu but unfortunately still serving great looking tasteless food which is fine if you just ate with your eyes. I had the brisket ramen my wife had the teriyaki chicken both were massively under seasoned, too much noodle water making the ramen little more than slightly salty hot water. This type of food is not easy to get right and unfortunately in this establishment they are miles away from how it should be. Staff were friendly and attentive children’s meals were decent sized portions but albeit again bland at around £50 for a light lunch it should of been better sorry wagamama I don’t think we will be back ever again.

My husband hates spicy food so I was a little anxious visiting here for a date night. The waitress, Lauren, couldn't have been more helpful! She pulled up a seat and talked us through a handful of things she'd recommend having listened to what he did and didn't like. She also allowed us to order our sides and eat them then order our mains because we were worried about eating separately or it all coming out together and going cold. We tried 4 of the side dishes and there wasn't one we didn't enjoy! Our favourite was the duck pancakes. My husband really liked the cherry and hoisin sauce. We had a curry and ramen for mains and we were really impressed with the taste of both! Throughout the evening the staff were attentive and helpful. Would really recommend this to anyone wanting to try something new. We will definitely be visiting again in the new year. Thanks Wagamama Plymouth!

Our intended venue in the city centrefor lunch was fully booked and somehow we ended up here instead. Trade in Wagamamas RWY was surprisingly light. Things have moved on a lot since our last visit five years ago. The space was simple, the staff were helpful without being too formulaic and the menus, particularly the veggie/vegan spread was enticing and well laid out. I had a surprisingly good jug of green tea and our meals were a great combination of flavours and heat, serving quickly from the open kitchen counter just beside us. Finding a free two hour parking spot outside the yard on the roundabout helped to make our late lunch even more of a stress free experience. We may come back again much sooner than last time, although the news in this weeks business pages of the take over by another national restaurant chain was a bit of a worry.

This was our first visit to a Wagamama’s and it was extremely busy due to the festival “Illuminate” in the Royal William Yard. We had booked so it was no problem and we were shown to our seats straight away. The service was nice and friendly, but it did seem chaotic with first of all, a long wait for our drinks, which actually only arrived when one of the first main courses was delivered. There were five of us and the time between the first and last main meals to be delivered was about 25 minutes, consequently the first person had already finished by the time the last one was served! And then when half the party had finished, the sides arrived, after a little prompting to the waitress! Apparently the reason for this, they say, is that all the dishes are made fresh and brought out when done, but to be quite honest I would rather we all ate together, as that was the point in us all going out for a meal together. I was also surprised at the tiny cup of hot chocolate our granddaughter was served. The seating arrangements were chalet style with long tables and benches. On saying all this, the food was very nice and tasty, but not sure we would rush back if it was just the two of us, as we like to eat together when out for a meal.

It was Friday and so started to fill up around 7. A bit of a hike from the Hoe but pleasant enough and we got to see a submarine being escorted to the naval base after dinner which you don’t get anywhere else that I know of. Lovely starters, and mains, although, hubby had the tuna steak and there wasn't a lot of anything else on the plate and what was with it was tasteless. My chicken itame on the other hand was superb and full of flavour. Desserts were hit and miss as well. The Fig cheesecake was very nice and tasted really fresh, while the spicy mango & coconut parfait tasted of nothing spicy, there was no coconut taste at all and was like one of the generic frozen desserts that you get from your local chinese restaurant. The biggest show of skimping to save money came when I ordered a REGULAR latte which came out in the smallest coffee cup i've ever seen. I did question it as I thought they had brought me an espresso but apparently that is their regular latte. I would definitely go back as I love the starters and mains here but will probably go elsewhere afterwards for coffee & dessert.

Myself and my partner visited this evening, we sat outside whilst it was still warm and watched as the sun set over the water - absolutely picturesque view in a gorgeous spot in Plymouth. We are both vegan and the options available were vast - we managed to have a very filling a satisfying meal. There seemed to be a probablem with ordering vegan steamed buns though? We ordered the steamed buns and although the rest of our food arrived... the buns didn’t. We spoke to our server Courtney (who is fab) and she chased this up and we finally got them about 40/50 minutes after ordering. Courtney offered drinks on the house for inconvenience but after trying the steamed buns we decided we would have an other portion instead of the drinks as they were so bloody tasty! Courtney advised that there may be a little wait for them as they were busy which we were fine with. About half an hour later... still no buns. We made Courtney aware and she expressed her disappointment and profusely apologised - she brought out two drinks on the house as we were waiting again and around 10 minutes later we were brought the buns in a takeaway hag as it was getting chilly and we wanted to leave... I have to say they were so worth the wait, both times! Although it would advisable to get it sorted in the kitchen because all the meat eaters were receiving their buns in hoards whilst us vegans were sat twiddling our thumbs... Fantastic service though, Courtney kept us happy and laughing through our entire visit and the food was spot on. But don’t leave us waiting too long for the tasty steamed buns when we come back for some more in the future!

I've been meaning to check this place out for a long time, so finally did today. We were seated quite easily and several different waitresses tended to our table, so no complaints on that front. All of the food arrived at different times, which we were told it would, but not much of a wait in between to be fair. My dish was cold, so when the waitress asked if everything was ok, I asked her if mine could be microwaved. As they don't have any microwaves, she took it away and provided me with another meal, this time on a warm plate. The food was totally bland and tasteless, you could have done your own using a stir fry pack which they sell for £1 in the supermarkets. I've tried these before and to be honest, the taste is pretty much the same. All 3 of us said that the meal was lacking in flavour and my daughter left half of hers (which at £10.00 a throw certainly isn't very good value). We had chicken and prawn noodles, which consisted of 3 prawns and 4 small pieces of dry chicken). I didn't bother to complain at the end as I had already sent my meal back once. You live and learn - avoid this place if you want anything with any flavour!!

Myself and a friend dined here on a weekday evening, at around half past seven. When we walked into the restaurant we were greeted by a welcoming waiter, who unfortunately sat us beside the door in the side-bar area to the main seating area. As this was one of the only tables available & we hadn't booked, this was fine though. Whilst we were quick to be served drinks, it took a long time for the waiter to come around and ask us which dishes we would like for our main meal as the restaurant was extremely busy. When we ordered, we were made aware that our dishes may come out at separate times due to them being cooked fresh. Of course, we said this was fine and waited for our meals to be brought out. Although not a massive issue, my main actually came out prior to my starter and the time between each of our dishes coming out was quite long - so much so that I had finished my main before my friend received his.The food was tasty & plentiful however, which did make for an enjoyable meal. If we visited again we would probably aim for a quieter time though. This is mainly because the restaurant felt hectic, both in terms of the speed of service and the atmosphere. Overall though, not a bad evening out.

The restaurant was easy to find. For mains, we ordered a chicken katsu curry and chicken teriyaki donburi. Chicken was tender and nice, the curry was different from the usual japanese curry but still rather delicious. The donburi was nothing fascinating though. However the star of the meal had to be the mango and coconut parfait. Both flavours go so well together and the quinoa on top added an extra bite and texture to the dish. It was wonderful.

What we love about Wagamama, is their vegan friendly menu, so we were delighted to find out that they have a new vegan menu. As Plymouth is out closest Wagamama (to Cornwall), we were keen to try their new menu, so took a day trip by train and combined it with a bit of shopping and lunching on The Hoe. By half past four, we were in need of an early dinner and were questioning our decision to eat at Wagamama, as it isn’t in the city centre. But knowing we would regret travelling home early, without dinner, we hailed a taxi to the Royal William Yard, location of Wagamama. Thank goodness we did! The location is very picturesque and the restaurant is situated in a Grade 1 listed former Naval military yard. (Check out their website royalwilliamyard.com). The restored stone exterior gives way to a familiar Wagamama restaurant interior: bench tables and seating dining area with subtle lighting and modern kitchen to one side. On the opposite side of the restaurant is a beautiful exposed stone wall with deep recessed windows, and stunning views across the marina. Without a doubt, Wagamama is one of our favourite dining experiences; vegan-friendly, delicious food with great service (the staff are always welcoming and friendly) and Plymouth has the added attraction of a fantastic location. We chose yasai gyoza and endamame, for shared starters, and kare burosu ramen, yasai yaki soba and warm chilli yasai salad, as our mains, all of it satisfying and full of flavour. It is well worth the minor inconvenience of a taxi journey to visit this restaurant and there are many other shops and galleries, plus events, that make a visit here more of a day out.

First ever visit to Wagamamas and it was okay. A different, unusual menu which was good and the food was also very good. Table service was quick and very friendly although something I find strange is that each dish is served when it is ready. It was explained this was the relaxed wagamamas way? Fits in with the large shared tables and benches I guess. So of the four of us we were all eating separately as food for each of us arrived at different times. generally I prefer to eat the same time as my other guests and not have to watch them or be watched eating but I went with the flow and it was okay. The other observation I would make, similar to so many modern restaurants now, is the level of noise. High ceilings, bare stone walls and hard wood furniture on a stone/wooden floor means noise echo's around and it become necessary to shout to converse with someone on the other side of the table. It became impossible and conversation just broke down to speaking to the person beside you. That said I would try wagamamas again, now knowing what to expect, although perhaps at a different location.

Very helpful staff with very nice food served timeously, The environment is clean and modern and the noise level is moderate. It seems expensive with dishes (and the beer) perhaps 10% overpriced but nevertheless a good evening was had by all!

Sorry but this restaurant was not my thing. Huge open seating area, it was like eating in a very noisy student refectory. Of our party of 6, one couple had eaten here before and on this occasion they were not impressed The dishes we ordered were either over spiced or bland and the dessert portions were extremely small. Young staff very helpful and we didn't have to wait that long for our food even though it was busy however none of us thought it was value for money. My myself and partner thought it a rip off! Very expensive for what you got.

Firstly, is always busy so book a table in advance. I'm not the best person at trying new things but was convinced to go to this restaurant by my better half - and i'm glad I went. It's very different, in that your food is brought out individually, as and when it's ready, rather than when the full table's food is ready. Not for everyone but I found it ok. Staff were very helpful when asked anything, very friendly too. Food was outstanding, based on what I was recommended. Prices not bad, no more expensive than eating out regularly. All in all, decent experience and would happily go again.

This is in a fantastic location on the corner of Royal William Yard with views across the harbour. You can see the Cremyll Arms and Mount Edgcumbe Park over in Cornwall n the distance. One option is to park on the Cornish side and take a passenger ferry to Royal William Yard. High standards in Wagamama maintained as always but the experience is enhanced by the fantastic surroundings After eating you can have a wander around Royal William Yard or perhaps climb the world famous Royal William Yard Staircase by Gillespie Yunnie Architects into the nearby park overlooking the sea. Royal William Yard is a hive of activity with businesses shops and apartments being built into the historic buildings breathing new life into this part of PlymouthThere are some really pleasant staff in this restaurant maintaining a good vibe. The food was great. Some people like Waggas more than others and for those who are not very keen there are plenty of other high quality restaurant choices in the immediate area. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Plymouth.

Came here with our son twice in the week we were staying in Plymouth, once quite late (10 pm-ish) - midweek, and the second time around 7:30 pm on the Friday - we were staying in an apartment nearby, it was raining (both nights), and we wanted to eat somewhere local. The first evening - late - the place was almost empty. Service was immediate and friendly. Very good. Calm, relaxing. That's why we decided to go back a few nights later, when it was raining again. We got there and the place was already full to bursting - people must eat early. But what hit me - almost literally - was the wall of noise as we walked in! It was like a nightclub/disco-level noise. Very loud music, which everyone needs to shout over to have a conversation. Definitely not calm or relaxing. If it had been like this the first time, we definitely would not have gone back a second time. The food is typical Wagamama. It's good and I like it - same as other Wagamamas I've been to. Service was OK the second time too - not very personal, but reasonably fast and efficient. Had to point at the dishes we wanted because it was so loud. So, no complaints about the food, price (€81.47 for 3 x 2 courses and beers - about the same both visits), or service. But it was like 2 different places. Late it was a calm relaxed place, great to eat and chat - ideal for a family outing. Early it was Bedlam! Impossible to communicate without shouting. Crowded. Loud party music. 100's of people drinking like it was the end of the world. Is that just because it's Friday, or do they drink and party like that every night?Turnover is of course quick, but the difference in atmosphere couldn't be more marked. So, if you fancy a Wagamama night out, take your pick - calm or raucous? Early or late? Family-friendly, or nightclub? Midweek or Friday?

Absolutamente horrible.

When we first entered Wagammas as a pre booked table of 7 for a birthday meal, we were fooled by the crisp layout and amount of staff members dotted around the place....we would soon find out why. We were given just about enough time to read and understand the menu before being bombarded to order and having menus jerked out of hands even after mentioning dessert which we might want to think about while eating mains. Mains ? What MAINS ? ... well as we were new to this establishment we were told that food was all freshly prepared and "cooked to order" so may come out at different times we went with it for a while .... none of us envisaged food coming out in dribs and drabs at 15 , 25 , 45 and 55 minutes past when we had placed the original order. My family and friends kept trying to offer me their food and at one point i had to because id waited that long but in any normal situation it is a little impolite to do so in a normal restaurant. The non existent portion sizes were quite disappointing given the AMOUNT OF TIME we were kept waiting for it, bowls of rice and noodles for heaven's sake. I'm no chef but really ? Highly inflated prices for food as well as drinks which was sad for me because I needed more drinks to get rid of the taste of the main meal, as it had been left to sit in a concoction of coriander for probably about the same amount of time as I'd been waiting( 1 hour while everyone else ate as the food all went cold quickly ) it was and still is all I cant taste. We had more than 4 waiters at the table at one point and none of them asked if i wanted to change my order try something similar at any point or tell me why it was taking an hour to get to me and that really annoyed me. "Chefs cut their finger" could understand , "we have run out of tuna" could also understand that even if they'd said we are "sending someone to go get part of that dish as we don't have quite enough" i would have been understanding about. One waiter had said that two of the main meals would be taken off of the bill for us which was adequate to the situation, however the birthday party pictures that were taken on my dads phone were less than adequate not difficult to do and couldn't even get that right. We were tempted to ask for a few complimentary desserts but decided that that probably wasn't worth the hassle of waiting, being in a very noisy restaurant and being cold as all of the windows were wide open. Would definitely not go again personally however My Brother whose birthday it was got his food first although I imagine that this was purely chance, as his Girlfriend who ordered exactly the same thing minus and egg got hers 45 minutes later. Sort yourselves out please.*On a side note the buddha beer was good but that was the only thing I had that wasn't awful. * Avoid weekends.

Went here for my friends 21st birthday meal on Friday;Ordered a cocktail and it took 50 minutes to come, no soft drink offered instead for half an hour, in the end I was offered water but still expected to atleast be offered a drink on the house for my patienceWe all ordered our food and it came at different times, some of us got our mains before our starters and yet again I was sat for another 20 minutes without food in front of me as my friends were tucking in to their meals, I didn't understand why this was because I had ordered the same as two people on our table who got theirs ages before me. I had the chicken ramen bowl which I found to be tasteless and had to pour about half a bottle of soy sauce on to make it taste edible. The only saving grace was the guy serving us was lovely and tried his best to keep us happy, just a shame I wasn't offered something off my bill for about an hours worth of waiting for things I'd ordered, especially as when my food came everyone had finished.Considering we had booked and they knew we were coming this wasn't good enough, don't think I will be returning; sorry guys but I have to be honest!

This was my first visit. Based on my experience, I am unlikely to visit again. I chose Wagamama Ramen. The meat and vegetables were submerged in the soup, not at all like the picture shown in the menu, in which the meat and vegetables are presented on top of the noodles, with the soup just covering the noodles. They also skimped on the quantity of meat and vegetable compared to the menu picture, so it was not the hearty meal it is described as.

got to be honest, not overly keen. Green beans in a dish etc for a fiver is not what I would call inviting or delish. When ordering I stated no to a certain ingredient because of an allergy. Food came out with said ingredient and we queried it. Food was swapped out with no fuss and wasn't charged. We took offence to the waiter that took the order coming over and stating that he didn't hear me even though he repeated it back to me at point of order. Then saying it's my fault for not telling them if an allergy....... But that's why I said no to something in the first place. Regardless food was fantastic and would 100% go back
