Absolutely delicious! Tasty, good sized portions, value for money

Absolutely love this place. Me and my partner go here all the time and love the food. The katsu curry is to die for and it never disappoints. Cute atmosphere and staff are lovely. A decent amount of vegan alternatives aswell for days i feel like trying something else! 100% recommend!!!

A charming smaller establishment, tucked away in Plymouth Market! Food was served piping hot and super swiftly, the staff exuded warmth and friendliness, the food was divine (the Tonkotsu ramen bowl blew me away, gorgeous broth!), and a great price point for great food! The menu had a superb variety of dishes; it would've been even better to have an alcoholic drink of choice available alongside a meal, but no big deal; the experience made up for it entirely! Overall, it was a very positive dining experience. I'd highly recommend anyone in the area to give it a go!

Recommended to come here before leaving Plymouth. I took away the roast duck buns and Thai milk tea. They tasted good and the price was nice. The service was also very nice. If I travel next time, I will definitely come here and sit down and have a good bowl of ramen.

I came in to get a nice simple bubble tea. I asked for a brown sugar milk tea with tapioca and it came to £4.90. The size was HORRIBLE for that price I usually buy these at cupp or bubble ci-tea which offer larger sizes for way less money. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Cracking little place. Food was so fresh and tasty. Had the char Sui pork boa and spicy edamame. Would definitely recommend.

The food is fresh, cook in front of you, very tasty and the attention is excellent, friendly and quick. I only wish they were open later. My favourite is the chicken katsu curry, but the noddles are also amazing

The Miso broth is the absolute best I ever tasted. Only down side is no toilet once the market has closed.

I finally managed to get a table on a Saturday lunchtime- the last couple of times I've tried it has been full, and now I know why! Some of the best food out I've had in a while in Plymouth. The greens in miso was so fresh and flavourful. The fried chicken bao was so moist and packed with filling. I can't wait to go back for a bowl of ramen when it's cooler - it smelt delicious!

Superb spicy seafood ramen followed with 'hurricane' coffee, son had takiyaki. All cooked to order, piping hot. So much better with small tables outside shop.

This is a small restaurant with minimal seating (roughly 16-18 seats) serving fantastic food! You can also take away or have food delivered. We had Ramen, bao buns and gyozas and everything was perfect and the price is good. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

easily one of my favourite places to eat. the food is affordable for the portion sizes and really yummy. the feel of the restaurant is so nice and the staff are really friendly. the food is served really quick, so there’s not a long wait for it to arrive. the milk teas are one of my favourites. there’s a good range of meals for vegetarian and vegans as well. would 100% recommend.

I recently visited the Tea&Bun restaurant in Plymouth after seeing the hype on Deliveroo, expecting a delightful experience. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to the expectations. I ordered the spicy seafood ramen, anticipating a rich and flavorful broth, but it sadly reminded me more of plain, instant noodles with just chili powder added—no depth of flavor whatsoever. I also tried the taro milk bubble tea, which was unfortunately too watery and lacked the creamy richness of milk that one would expect. Additionally, the bubbles were not up to the mark. The dining area is very small, and after finding a place to sit, we had to go and order at the till. This was not comfortable given the limited space available, which further let down the overall experience. Overall, my visit was disappointing. I don't recommend this place for authentic food. I can't reply to the comment you gave so I am adding on Second Reply: Firstly, about the seating space, it's important for potential customers to know about the limited space and the requirement to order at the till. Navigating through the cramped area where other customers were already seated was uncomfortable and awkward. Making customers comfortable should be your top priority since we're paying for the dining experience. Why not come to the table to take orders instead? As for the meal being bland, it's really disappointing to see such a dismissive attitude towards customer feedback. Telling me I should have asked your team for advice on how to make my meal taste better isn't a solution; it suggests that the default offering is subpar. Regarding the bubble tea, I finished it because I paid for it, not because it was enjoyable. Your insinuation that finishing the drink invalidates my critique is simply unfair. Constructive feedback is meant to help improve your offerings, not to be brushed off with accusations of being a "keyboard warrior." I wasn't looking for a reason to complain but was providing honest feedback based on my experience.

You have got to try the Crispy Duck Bao Bun and the sticky ribs! Sooooo good!

The food here is so delicious, I go out of my way to eat here whenever I'm in Plymouth, so the only negative thing I cam say is I wish it was open more! Everything is delicious and freshly cooked, with quality ingredients and no cutting corners. I always get the ramen because the broth is made with real ingredients, as a chef that has seen behind the scenes in chain store Japanese food places, I can tell you the "broth" is a scoop of paste in hot water. Defo not the case here which is why I will always choose them. Also all the sides are fresh, crunch, crispy and flavourful. I am always recommended it to people and trying to drag my family to eat here with me. Also friendly professional staff, I like the ambience though sometimes it can get busy, and such great value for the quality of the food.

One of my top 5 favourite places to go to for food. Lovely owners, friendly staff and amazing food. I highly recommend the salmon karaage bao buns + the chicken katsu. You get two for such a cheap price (5.95) and they're so tasty. Drink wise, I will always get the Taro Milk Tea. Much cheaper compared to many other places that sell bubble tea + a good portion size.

I ordered this for takeaway and oh my goodness 😍 absolutely sensational. My partner and I had the donburi and the bibimbap with two of the buns to share - one beef and one katsu. Presentation is incredible considering it travelled. I'm sorry but all other takeaways need to take notes from these guys. Tastes are out of this world. Thank you!! Also, if you like iced tea... You HAVE to get the passion fruit one.

We've tried three kinds of ramen. All were just perfect. Delicious food and very nice people.

The ramen here is incredible 😋 I feel like it's the only place in Plymouth to get good ramen (and Dumplings etc.). All the food I've tried so far has been excellent. Staff are super friendly too :)

Always popped in for their fruit tea, but had never eaten there. one of my friends thankfully convinced me to buy one of their Raman dishes. It was quite nice and a large portion, they let me take home what I couldn't finish. I was given something that I didn't order, but they corrected it and let me keep the first bowl. Overall, a great environment and good food for alright prices! I highly recommend the fruit tea, refreshing and delicious!

We adore this place. We have been here at-least 20 times now and it never disappoints. My fiancés favourite ramen outside of specialist restaurants in central London. We make a plan of visiting every time we come to Plymouth! Already can’t wait until next time!

I’m on a mission to try every eatery in the market. This time it was Tea & Bun. I’ve wanted to try here for ages and it was honestly amazing. The place was packed which is obviously a really good sign! We had: •Fried pork gyoza with spicy Mayo •Aubergine with sesame miso •Chicken katsu with special tonkatsu sauce bao bun •Fried prawns with spicy Mayo bao bun. Everything is cooked fresh to order and was so tasty. The gyozas were some of the best I’ve tried and the aubergine miso flavours were incredible. Can’t wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!

I'd give it a 6 if I could. We got the mushroom gyoza's and the salmon bao buns, they were so nice we forgot to take photo because they were so good. Lovely and warming ramen. Brilliant service with lovely staff

This place really does the best gyoza, bao buns, ribs and ramen in Plymouth as far as I'm concerned. Amazingly fresh food, really tasty and very good cost as well Highly recommended to any who love Japan/Korean foods.

Perfect little restaurant in the old market, flavours are phenomenal, staff are so sweet and helpful, service is fast and immaculate, all around one of my new favourite places to eat. Can be slightly pricey but their portion sizes won't disappoint and like I said, flavours are just perfect.

IMO it's over-rated. Tokusatsu Noodles was ok. But they microwaved the rice. That is a definite no.

Fantastic food, reasonable prices, the only problem is it gets busy!

This is pretty close to 4 stars, but not quite for me. I love ramen and had been planning to try Tea and Bun for a while as they are one of the few places in the south west that actually list ramen correctly within their menu. I went at a busy lunchtime, but all of the servers were friendly and nice enough. I grabbed a window seat and ordered the spicy tonkotsu and fried mushroom gyoza. The gyozas were okay, a little too much vinegar for me, but nice none the less. The spicy tonkotsu was also okay, though the noodles were nothing too special, and the soup itself felt like it was missing something. Very porky and smooth, but didn't hit the umami flavour I was looking for. Overall still one of the better places to get noodles in Plymouth (if you're looking specifically for ramen), and well worth a visit.

Went here in 2022. It's a typical western-style Asian restaurant. The ramen wasn't authentic, the "tonkotsu" broth was watery and bland (tonkotsu broth should be creamy), and you needed to pay an extra £1.50 for the marinated egg which is ridiculous in my opinion, because no ramen is complete without the egg. Also the egg was obviously marinated with only soy sauce with no mirin because it's very salty and had no sweetness at all. If you don't know what authentic ramen is supposed to taste like, I guess it's passable. For me who have lived in Japan before and can speak Japanese, it's eh.

We were wandering around the market and came across Tea and Bun. Having never tried a Bao Bun we thought we'd visit. One of the ladies met us and showed us to our table. Very polite and friendly. We had one beef plate bao bun and one pork bag bun. Beautifully presented and very tasty. As we left they said goodbye and asked if we'd enjoyed our food. Excellent place and would definitely recommend it.

My boyfriend and I come here quite often and love it. It is his favourite place to eat in Plymouth. The portions are huge and the broths are full of flavour. The staff are so friendly and welcoming also 🙂

Delicious East Asian food! I was surprised by how tasty the spicy ramen was. The bao buns were also decent, and the boba tea was lovely and sweet. And all if those were vegan. Nothing to complain about here! I'll definitely come again.

Excellent food, there aren't a lot of options in the South West for genuine Bibimbap so this really scratched the itch! The side dishes were wonderful as was the Vietnamese iced coffee so 5/5 from us! We will definitely come again.

Great service and food! Waitresses are so lovely! A man (who im assuming is the boss) was extremely rude to the staff, and brought down the atmosphere.

Had tried Tea & Bun a while back and really enjoyed it. So I decided to order a takeaway. The (prawn) bao buns are excellent! The ramen was also nice, just found the chicken in it very dry even with the broth. I will definitely be back again for the bao buns.

Love the bao buns especially the prawn bao bun. Its yummy 😋. The Tonkutso Ramen its also very warming and tasty. Must visit when your in Plymouth Market.

Go here often with friends it’s so lovely staff are absolutely wonderful and food and drink are to die for honestly would recommend to everyone it’s so worth going here especially if you like Japanese food!! I recommend peach oolong tea and the chicken ramen they have lots of options it’s quick and brilliant customer service Also they do takeaway which is brilliant in the summer sometimes I take ramen up to the hoe and it’s just the right temp to eat it by the time I get up there it’s not too hot by then!!

This is an authentic taste of the orient right in the gastro metropolis of Plymouth with high quality fresh ingredients. The friendly staff and plethora of menu choices makes it a firm favourite for my whole family.

First class food and service at a very reasonable price. Highly recommended. I just need to practice my chopstick technique.

Visited here a few times and it's a great value place with really authentic cooks - the broth was rich for the ramen, the noodles were perfect and the other dishes I ordered were cooked fantastic, the portion sizes are nice too. Clientelle was quirky and friendly too! Highly recommend.

Ordered Deliveroo from here was really excited by the menu but disappointed with what arrived. Was expecting better quality and taste from the reviews, buns were quite chewy and plasticky and the tonkotsu pork was very dry and unseasoned, in addition it was not clear it didn’t come with the staple egg as expected with a tonkotsu dish

The foods are absolutely delicious with reasonable price and great service!! Whole family with four drinks, four main and two side dish just £60!! Recommend: Add the egg in your ramen!!Vietnamese Coffee, Bun, Chicken Curry!!

Like any great restaurant they do a few things really well not lots of things really average. Having said that the options are amazing and varied. My family shared Bao buns, squid balls, ramen and Katsu, every single one was cooked perfectly, tasted incredible and filled you up. The staff were so friendly as well and take an interest in everyone, not just the regulars who I’m SURE they have here!

Please get the chicken katsu curry if you go here, it’s SO GOOD!!! 10/10 most comforting meal I’ve had in Plymouth and the staff are so friendly!! Great experience all round!!

I cannot put into words how amazing this place is. My son and I visited yesterday for lunch and left with the feeling of experiencing one of the nicest meals we’ve ever had. The flavour of the soy ramen broth is exquisite, the slightly sweet yet deep pork flavour was a pure mouthful of pleasure. We will be back! Thank you! Xx

come here almost every week for a mid-week extra treat lunch with my partner. The service is always so quick and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Food here is delicious and has great vegetarian and vegan options too.

Great little place, did miss it when I walked past but glad I found it! Excellent pork ramen; delicate full flavoured broth with really juicy, tender pork. So filling I couldn’t eat anything else, although would have loved to try a Bao bun…..next time!
