Very good service, delicious food, my son and I enjoyed our meal and will go again

Great food and all the Wait staff were punctual and friendly. It's not often that I see a waiter helping another with cleaning their tables etc. The restaurant was busy but still service was great and good flew out the kitchen. They made sure to ask about my allergies and made sure nothing I had had it in. Would definitely say a must on your list if you are in the area.

Foods taste good, but some of those are stale. It is kind of weird that stale mushrooms and scallops are all in the soup noodles. It am sure that the sourness doesn’t come from the sauce.

Amazing atmosphere and experience

This stunning Japanese restaurant has captured our hearts. The sleek, modern interior creates a welcoming atmosphere, and the impeccable service only enhances the dining experience. But the real star of the show is the food. Every dish is a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. We've been back multiple times, and each visit has been a delight.

Second visit and an even better experience. The decor and ambience are inviting. The young man who looked after us for the evening was attentive and very much a plus point, had a personality! First dish, Chicken Yakitori skewers. Portion size, just right with the chicken, cooked to perfection. The sauce, yum. Next, Wasabi steak. As with any steak too much or too liitle cooking, yuck. Mine, cooked medium rare and as tender as you would hope. Accompanied with ramen noodles (extra charge but worth it). I am normally take them or leave them with noodles. This time, the perfect addition. I think you can guess, thoroughly recommend. Back again. As per the above, still just as good. This time around, tempura prawns. The batter was so light and crispy, yum.

The dininng experience was superb

Great food. Lots of vegetarian options. It was my second time and it was lovely. I noticed though that the toilets do not coincide with the restaurant ambience and there are in need of refurbishment. Could do with more thorough cleaning too.

Authentic Fresh Tasty “I want everything on the menu!!” My favourite restaurant in Plymouth (but I do love Japanese), I’ve been here frequently over the years but compelled to write a review after the last 2 visits. My Mum, celiac, can be pretty challenging to satisfy with this cuisine!! A few months ago, Alan was so attentive, meticulous and vigilant with communication and in finding options, we left super happy customers. Tonight, Alan (who recognised us!!) continued to offer platinum service. Ben also served our table and he was as attentive and lovely. The kitchen team were obviously working with Alan to meet Mums needs and we felt confident that we were in safe hands….. Alan, Ben, and the chefs, thank you for your service!! Came in for a special meal with my partner - very accommodating staff as we weren't sure if we wanted to sit in the upstairs restaurant, but they let us move around. Very attentive staff with great recommendations, the food was wonderful and beautiful. Very clean and the toilets were spotless! We will definitely be visiting again.

Delicious, generous portions, and a surprise.

I have to be completely honest it isn’t my favourite Japanese restaurant in Plymouth however I highly recommend a visit! Each restaurant will appeal to people in different ways, this is a bit of an awkward location if you aren’t that familiar with Plymouth could do with better signage outside. Food is excellent although I found the clam nigiri and the octopus nigiri a bit chewy and bland, maki rolls were great, sashimi I’m not convinced was the freshest but still delicious…the star of the show is the unagi (eel) probably the best I’ve had was very good quality and nicely cooked! Also highly recommend the plum wine! The girl that served us was really good and knowledgeable, restaurant was very clean and tidy…except the bathrooms they are tiny and a bit gross l, if the owner is reading this might be worth spending some time and money on them (sorry to be rude) Will be back hopefully to try the floor seating

First impressions were great with a lovely venue and friendly staff but the food was not good. We opted for the tasting menu and the quality was poor. I had to spit the scallop out as it was gritty and fishy. It didn’t taste fresh at all! We had tempura prawns and my boyfriend noticed that they had not taken out the poop shoot from the prawn, so had to do this himself, which you do not expect when you’re paying this much money. The sushi was okay however, it didn’t taste very fresh for a bill over £115. We have enjoyed much better Japanese food elsewhere in Plymouth with better value for money. We did intend to complain about the quality however at no point did anyone ask how the food was. We were asked if we were finished but, considering most courses were not empty plates, I expected them to ask if we enjoyed the courses. Left feeling ripped off and will not be returning or recommending.

The best of the best when it comes to food. Not overpriced for portions, the meals are beautifully made with great taste. And the staff and atmosphere make you feel like you took a trip to Japan. All the family I took with me say that it's a 10/10, excellent place. #1 in my restaurant books - Ash

Absolutely stunning! Lucky to get in having a last minute babysitter and have had it on our list! Beautifully presented gorgeous tasting fresh food. My husband is a big fan of Japanese food and said it was the best he had ever had. Service was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu and very relaxed to enjoy our meal. We slightly over ordered as we were a little excited but everything was excellent. Thank you, see you again for sure.

We enjoyed a wonderful meal here for my 30th birthday. There is so much choice on the menu, truly something for everyone! Everything we had was totally delicious - crispy duck rolls, vegetable gyoza, beef yakiniku, steamed sea bass with ginger & soy and followed by sesame ice cream. Everyone was so friendly and polite, it was a fantastic evening 🥰 We will definitely be back!

I have been lucky enough to eat in some fabulous Japanese restaurants over the years. I find sushi exquisite and the experience we had last night celebrating my partners birthday was really special. Nice intimate seating area at the rear. We had the 6 course taster menu. We both love sushi so it was even more magic to have the same type of food and savour it together. The dishes really were masterfully prepared and seasoned and it was a delight for the palate. Would I change anything? I have to say I’m old school and love proper chopsticks not the take away sort. Service was acceptable, I suspect a less experienced younger waiter so wasn’t maybe quite as refined from a service perspective. Literally thought that’s fine tuning and it will never stop us coming back. Really can’t rate highly enough. We were so engrossed in the experience we forgot to take photos.

One of the authentic Japanese restaurant in town of Plymouth, United Kingdom. I like the presentation of their food. It’s really fresh. We celebrated the birthday of one of our friends and we really had a good time. During our visit, we’re lucky that we were able that we were seated at once. Usually this restaurant is always full with different nationals. Indeed, it was a great celebration.

The best Japanese Food I've had outside of Japan!! Took myself out here as a little self indulgent self date, and decided to engulge a bit and try some things I've not had before. I ordered the Miso Soup & Beef Yakitori as appetiser, with Fried Vegetables and Tofu as my main (would recommend having this with rice, as Japanese cuisine combines these. You have your carbohydrates as the rice essentially- I just wanted to have some space for more food since I've enjoyed, and do enjoy, expanding my pallette.) For pudding I enjoyed the Fried Green Tea Ice Cream with Fruit Salad, a truly interesting dish that I found myself enjoying. :) For drinks I had the Cherry Blossom Cocktail & Warmed/Hot Koshino Happo Sake. Very pleasant restaurant, and I strongly recommend it to anyone within the area. The staff are incredibly attentive and caring to your needs & the restaurant is comfortably sized- I'm surprised that it isn't that popular (I went on a Friday Night.) The only drawback I would say is it isn't particularly budget friendly- but if you have the money, or budget accordingly with what you can afford, it is an absolutely lovely dining experience with impeccable food.

Great food and great service by Cameron. The tempura and gyoza were perfectly crispy and the plum wine very tasty. Would visit again and try more of the menu without hesitation.

One of the best places I've visited so far this year. We had an assortment of visually amazing dishes and some delicious plum wine. Would recommend any of their sushi dishes and their noodle dishes were to die for. Had a brilliant time. Going again very soon.

The mango ice cream was not flavored and had orange food dye in The soup was almost pure salt and suchi was not good averall

This is a lovely Japanese restaurant on the main street heading for the Barbican. They do a 6 course tasting menu which is delicious and allows you to try different dishes.

1st time for a proper sushi meal. Great flavours and textures. We went to the Jananese restaurant upstairs but they seem to have lost the legs to the chairs 😀. Great experience

great for asian food experience. Group of 6 of us all shared most if not all the lighter bite starters on the menu. the gzoyas? were very nice as ive never had them before but i did prefer the vegetable ones! steak with teriyaki sauce was a winner with the group too. Wouldn’t bother with this place at all Plenty of better sushi places for less money. The gyoza was a lump of hard meat and the wrapper was tough and lifeless. Really void of any flavour. The sushi rice was over cooked and had no flavour - the fillings were also rather mushy and tasteless. The place and decor was also a bit daggy and lifeless Sorry to say the worst sushi I can remember having - even yo sushi does it better

Lack lustre in all departments. It was a slow night the place was empty. Never less the service was slow. The food was ok nothing to complain about but equally nothing to rave about. Was it Japanese not sure. The price however was something to get excited about. High prices for average food. Not good not bad not anything. The resturant itself was at the same level could do with an update. On the plus side the family enjoyed the night. I just thought it was overpriced and the service could have been better.

I have been going here for the last 18 years. Always welcoming. Food is always spot on and portions are well sized. My wife and I love the soft shell crab and sushi dishes. All the sake 🍶 are good and personally I think taste better when warmed. A fantastic family run business and I'm so glad that it has continued to thrive in such a competitive market.

Great service, I was with quite a difficult table but the staff handled it brilliantly.

Food was so delicious, we tried Katsu Curry, sushi and tempura mixed. Portion sizes are decent, the service is good, lovely atmosphere with Japanese music playing on the background. Would have like to try eating traditionally but the upstairs Japanese room was shut.

Having enjoyed a candlelit summer concert at the Market Hall featuring the music of Joe Hisaishi we fancied some Japanese food. Sooo pleased we found Yukisan😋

It's was our sons 16th birthday and he wanted sushi so as we we're karting in plymouth anyway went to yukisan. And it didn't disappoint. We ordered lots of different dishes on the menu and not one we could fault. Well priced and probably the best sushi i have ever had. My chef husband is allergic to fish so had the steak tartar with wasbi mayo, it just melted in the mouth and the balance was amazing. Staff were really friendly, they even put a happy birthday banner up for him. We would happily drive an hour to eat here again.

Our first time in a Japanese restaurant and a very pleasant surprise. We sampled Meat Gyoza, a selection of tempura, some sushi with wasabi, a Katsu chicken and strips of ribeye in a soy and red wine sauce. Reasonably priced, delicious food served by Robyn who led us expertly through our choices from the menu. Highly recommended!

Great as expected! Actually been frequenting this restaurant for some time but haven't been back since the pandemic hit. Very happy and satisfied that it's still a great place for supper. Me and my wife came here on our first date almost 8 years ago and we've been back at least once a year since. The food is always incredible and our latest meal was no exception. This time our visit was with our 2 year old and we were apprehensive about bringing her because of how she'd react to more exotic food and needing to sit quietly in a restaurant setting but the staff made her so comfortable. They have high chairs available but we used their booster seat so she could sit on a normal chair alongside us (we didn't risk the floor sitting area upstairs!). The staff were very kind towards her and spoke to her and made her feel welcome which helped her settle as if she was upset, it would ruin the meal for us by having to try and calm her down all evening (and probably for the rest of the restaurant too). The food was a delight once again. We had 3 starters between us (Duck Rolls, Gyoza + Chicken Yakitori) and a main each (Chicken and Steak Teriyaki), while our daughter had Avocado Maki and some Ramen Noodles. We ordered too much but the food is so delicious that we just want to try a bit of everything. We've ordered the Bento Box previously but this has been relegated to the lunch menu only now but not a problem for us as there's still plenty of great options to order. Their card machine had no option to leave a tip so they had to settle for whatever cash I had left in my wallet and a positive review on here instead!

Soft shell crab tempura is very good. Sashimi is low grade - not worth the tariff. Other than that this is a solid place.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday and she chose Yukisan from a short-list. It couldn't have been nicer. We knew from experience that the food would be excellent but what was lovely about this evening was the warm friendly welcome from all the staff. Our main waiter, who told us he had studied music at the university, could not have been better. He was patient and helpful. Don't miss trying the plum wine ice cream and the Devonia sparkling water.

First time here and when I stood outside it looked very run down so I didn't have much hope but once inside it looked totally different with a lovely atmosphere, The staff were friendly and helpful and the main thing, the food was amazing. The duck spring rolls were the best I have ever had and yukisan food in general was the best Japanese food I have ever tasted. Definitely will be going back

Visited many times and as always food was delicious, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. This is the only restaurant I know where staff still wear mask and take temperature on arrival which I think is still necessary. Have booked again for visit in November.

This place has the best Asian food in Plymouth. Great service, fantastic food. I’m a Vegan and this place cooks the most delicious Tofu I’ve ever had. We will be back for sure.
