Lived in Plymouth when the hotel was first opened so it fits its age. Service was great - especially the breakfast staff. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice. Bed was comfortable considering it wasn’t a Premier Inn.

Just returned from a very pleasant 4 night stay traveling with my mother. On the first day of this trip my mother was not feeling very well so a big thankyou to the reception and hotel staff for looking out for her and making sure she was ok. Everything was great and very clean.

Club Room view was a building site. TV picture very poor quality Room very hot Was advised as fully stocked room fridge. All I got for 2 guests was one Coke and one Diet Coke as either of us drink normal Coke we had one drink between 2 people. This was reported to reception with no response apart from we don’t have the authority to do anything. Furniture all damaged Wi-Fi not working Tried to charge me for breakfast included in the room rate. No coffee cups in the restaurant next to the coffee machine. Had to ask for one and the waiter returned with one cup. I asked him what about everyone else and he just shrugged his shoulders. A hotel of this poor standard is not worth £120 especially with all the service issues I experienced. I look forward to a response that was promised on check out.

As a returning customer visiting family who live within a 10 minutes walk from Copthorn Hotel and Plymouth station I have always been impressed with cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. And quality of breakfast and service. The friendliness and welcoming personalities of reception and waiting staff is wonderful.

Just returned from our first but not last stay at the Copthorne Hotel in Plymouth. The hotel on the outside looks very run down however on the inside it’s very modern, clean and posh looking. Rooms are of a good quality and very good size. Bathroom could do with an update as it’s quite old and a lot of mould in parts of the ceiling (possibly due to a non working extractor fan). We didn’t eat or drink on site but it did look very clean. Good value. Great location and would stay again.

very satisfied with the services provided. big and clean room, clean hotel smell as you enter the door. The large and clean bathroom, I really liked the soap and the shower gel, how it smelled, as well as the very clean towels and the bed. the bed is very comfortable and the mattress is good. the parking is very ok and secure. the lady at the reception very nice and welcoming. I would love to come back to this wonderful hotel

Centrally located in the town centre with parking spaces. This is a good hotel to spend a couple of nights in if you are visiting the area for a long weekend. Don't forget to ask about the welcome drink at check-in.

Recent business trip. A nice hotel with friendly staff and a good attitude. Sadly the hotel is looking rather tired and in need of some TLC. The food in the restaurant was lovely and the 4am pizza delivered to my room was very nice. The lady on reception was lovely and very helpful.

Decent enough hotel, was very close to where I was working. The whole hotel is very tired, needs a LOT of money spending on it to update it. Furniture and decor have seen better days.

It is a pretty good hotel, the location is close to the center and the train station. The room was quite clean (the wallpaper on the walls and the ceiling fan still need to be cleaned of dust), the bed and pillows comfortable, linen and towels of good quality. It would still be useful to have sockets near the bed. The breakfast was quite good, I would have liked some fresh vegetables, the staff was very kind. It's not really a 4-star hotel, the furniture is quite dated, but the value for money is very good. Very easy online check-in and check-out. Overall, it was a good experience. We will choose this hotel again the next time we come to Plymouth.

It was difficult to find the car park. There were no signs on the main roads. Only on back roads right before it and it was not where you would expect. I had to drive three loops just to get to the right place. I ordered room service at 10:30 pm as it said it was 24 hours. But was informed that they couldn’t begin with getting the food ready until 11pm when the night staff came on. At 11pm there was a call to confirm the order and I was told that it would be half an hour. At 11:45 I called to check on the food. I was told that it wasn’t ready yet and would be 15 more minutes. As I was with another person they offered one meal for free. At 5 past midnight I called again and said not to bother as I just wanted to go to bed after having a long day. They then said the food was on the way up to the room. Then offered both meals for free which was nice. I did not get the food until 20minutes past midnight. Obviously it was not on its way up when I was told. I then had to eat and finish getting ready for bed. Do I did not end up getting to sleep until 1 am. I had been up since 7:45 the previous day and got very little sleep. It was not a good experience. Also people were being very loud in the hallways at 1 am so that did not help with getting to sleep. The only benefit is that the hotel was very close to the centre of Plymouth and made walking in the city very easy.

Don't just pocket profit from the business. Reinvestment is also crucial for success sometimes. Every facility in this establishment is exhausted and dated . The hotel manager sincerely replying to each review would not resolve this issue. And please don't give me traditional values and all those bla bla 🙃. Because I have seen many hotels around the world maintaining tradition and modernisation hand in hand. Best of luck.

Possibly the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at, when we got to the hotel there was only 6 parking spaces at the front that were all taken so I had to dump the car and go inside to ask where to park, as soon as the staff saw me they ran off to the back so I had to stand at the desk for almost 5 minutes before they came back and acted like nothing had happened, when I asked about parking the guy at the desk just gave me a postcode which led us to a random car park, when we went back to the hotel we asked if we had parked in the right place where we were told that the hotel parking was actually underground but we don’t need to worry and our car would be fine. We unpacked in the room where we found bogeys on the bathmat and bathroom wall which was absolutely disgusting and shows the level of care they put into the cleaning. At this point we didn’t want to make a fuss and just went back to the car less than 30 minutes later to find a parking ticket for £50. Went back to the hotel and they said they’d get in touch with the local council to get it sorted but he didn’t seem apologetic at all just put it to one side. We stayed for two nights and had to ask the front desk 3 times before they actually emailed the council to try to get it sorted. We’ve now been home for a few weeks and have rang up a few times to see what’s happened. Every time we’ve been met with rude staff being very short with us. The most recent time we’ve rang the staff member was so snotty and said “we don’t deal with that sort of thing” and hung up leaving us to pay the £50 ourself. If we’d just been told no they wouldn’t sort it on the spot it only would’ve been £25 but instead we’ve been messed around, I work in hospitality myself and wasn’t rude at all to any of the staff so I don’t understand why they felt the need to be so rude to us, really gave us a bad impression of the area and would absolutely not recommend this hotel to anyone, better service sleeping on the streets.

Nice enough for a one-night stopover. This room was tired and needed a bit of TLC. Chair ripped, painted surfaces scraped and cupboard doors at angles but it was otherwise clean and comfortable. If you're just looking for a simple overnight base this should suffice. I've seen better hostels TBF.

Hotel located near city center, with about 6 parking spaces at front of building. Friendly & helpful service when I checked in from the receptionist. My room was located on the 4th floor. Room is dated, most likely from the 90s.

Ordered takeout tonight and all the food was hot when it got here and so flavourful. We ordered beef chow mein which was amazing, the beef was so tender and the sauce was incredible, best we've had. The satay skewers were also a great flavour compared to ones we've tried elsewhere, we also had chicken fried rice, chicken balls , prawn crackers (of which we received extra!) chips, which weren't dry like usual Chinese chips and curry sauce which my husband said was really good (he's fussy with curry too) portions were a great size and we still have enough for lunch tomorrow and will definitely be ordering again! We usually use the same Chinese every time but they were on holiday so tried somewhere new. Looks like they accidentally just lost a customer to Lee Gardens! Thankyou ☺️

Been here a number of times and it’s my go to pub, there’s a wide variety of food and a great selection of drinks. The perfect vibe for a chilled dinner with the family or for a special occasion. Staffs customer service is 10/10. A very welcoming atmosphere, would definitely recommend! :)

Dropped in for a casual lunch and had an amazing jerk chicken wrap with plantain on the side. The team were friendly and welcoming but the real star was the jerk chicken wrap that I'll be getting a lot more of in the not too distant.
