I come here nearly once a week for breakfast and it is always lovely the food is freshly cooked to order and wallid and his team are always so welcoming and friendly, highly recommend

Good food, would have been 5 stars if there were still serving Sunday roast up to the advertised time of 6. Got there at 4 to be told it was only standard menu on offer. However the mixed grill was good. For some reason only vegan options for the vegetarians, waitress looked confused when we ordered cheese with the vegan burger.

Very friendly staff. Breakfast always hot and readily available.

It was lovely being greeted each morning by Mandy's smiling face. She looked after our needs to perfection 👌

This is our new favourite breakfast spot! Good quality food and plenty of it, with the manager Wilad going above and beyond for his customers. Highly recommend!

Great breakfast .great staff friendly. The chefs to the lovely ladies Sharon a d ma dy ,who really look after you always hard working and nothing is to much trouble the manageress are also very friendly and very kind great place to eat always hot and plenty great place 😀

Joel was great and saw to our every need as both of us have some food allergy and he was great. Food was lovely, service is great and it’s a nice place too.

Had chicken goujons followed by a stack burger without the bun. Really enjoyed the meal. Replacing the bun with a crispy salad worked really well. The whole experience was enhanced by the friendly staff, especially Joel who was attentive and very helpful.

Stayed in the Premier inn for 2 nights whilst working away. Was attended to by Joel who we couldn't fault whatsoever such a positive attitude and helped us with choosing our evening meals with his recommendations we went for the smothered platter. Would highly recommend as the menu has plenty of options and the beer is top notch

Well i don't always get the time/chance to leave a review but sometimes you just get that one person that makes your day.... after a long busy a stressful day(and start to the week) I was just planning on a quick bite and straight to bed. So I came to the Lockyers Quay and was served by a friendly and welcoming gent (Joel) Must say he is an absolute credit to the business and service from him was impeccable made me forget all about the week and I left feeling so much better and more focused for the week ahead. The meal was fantastic and definitely filled a gap, and this will definitely be the pub I go to for food when in the area all the staff were welcoming and seemed to get along food was delicious, hot and out in a reasonable time. Highly recommend this establishment and the management have clearly done an excellent job in training and supporting there staff! See you again soon (I hope)

Served breakfast by Mandy & Sharon this morning. They were pleasant and efficient and the food was well cooked and tasty. Definitely come again!

Came here in the afternoon, no need to book as was quiet. Ordered the tikka curry and katsu curry, food arrived after around 20 minutes, was hot and fresh. Disabled toilet / baby change was open so we didn’t have to chase staff for a key. Our daughter was having a hard time in here as toddlers sometimes do but no one made us feel uncomfortable, staff were pretty good and we made sure she moved when anyone was coming by. Only problem here was we’d had deserts. I ordered the strawberry knickerbocker, when it came it had cranberries in and one strawberry, didn’t look anything like it did on the menu and there wasn’t much in it either.

Cookhouse great value for money and my granddaughter was free to eat, what a fantastic saving. It was a weekend so very busy, hot trolley food and an excellent range of continental but you could still ask for lots of extras from the kitchen . The manager Mr Walid and waiting staff were happy to take these orders, poaches or fried eggs were done very quickly. We shall definitely be back again had a great breakfast..top marks.

I've not visited or eaten here for quite some time and I had high hopes having always enjoyed the food & service in the past. On this occasion the place seemed short staffed, cutlery/condiments were lacking thus needing a hunt around to aquire vinegar and ketchup sachets. I ordered the Gammon which tasted ok though looked a little undercooked to me and I did consider sending it back for a bit. Chips tasted great although there was only a handful on the plate. This appears to be a common trend amongst chain restaurants these days. I've not heard of a potato famine and spuds haven't gone up in price like eggs have for example so I have to question why the humble chip is becoming harder to enjoy in quantities. One of the party had chicken tikka curry which she enjoyed and required use of a spoon which was also missing from the Cutlery tray. Either staff don't understand English, they've never been asked for a spoon before or were just too 'inconvenienced' but obtaining one was almost as difficult as changing a tyre with blu tak. Unless staff training and the menu improves I won't be going back and can't recommend which is a shame..

If I could give negative 10 stars on service I would. But first things first - their breakfast food is deplorable and tasteless but dinner was much improved. The main issue is this establishment and the Whitbread family who owns it are able-ist and discriminate against people who are medically challenged. Not once, not twice, but three times and three different employees refused me service because my daughter and I each have service (assistance) dogs due to medical conditions. I was told by the first person who would not allow us service that I had to be either deaf or blind to allow my service dog and he sent me away. I complained at my companion hotel Premier Inn and the hotel manager had a conversation with them so the next morning I tried breakfast and the lady said the same thing that it was company policy that only the deaf and blind are allowed service animals on site, she even said the hotel manager had "approved" it but she was not going to honor it. The hotel made them honor it and the food was bland and most inedible. We went back for dinner, which we had paid for at the hotel in advance. Another female employee again refused me service due to my assistance dog and said it was "company policy." She also pretended I had not already paid (the hotel employee confirmed he could see our reservation and his screen looked like what the restuarant staff see). During all these incidents I was demeaned and discriminated against all the while speaking calmly and respectfully even though I was completely disrespected. However, they hang a huge LGBTQ flag on the door letting them know they are supported but unless you are deaf or blind, no other disability is acceptable to these people. I will NEVER stay with this hotel brand or support any business owned by the Whitbread family. I have never felt so discriminated against in my life. By the way, I should mention I am a visitor to the UK and have been in multiple other eating and shopping, as well as tourism establishments, and NEVER have the staff treating me so poorly. I will say the hotel staff is helpful and respectful and tried their best to make it right but the restaurant staff are ignorant. As a visitor I want to note that my service dog and my daughter's service dog have had to pass rigorous testing and approval of my own government and the UK government to travel with me.

Turned up to pop in for lunch with a friend but the state of the front outdoor area put us off so went elsewhere I'm afraid. Old falling to bits wooden tables, wooden chairs with splits in that could injure legs, a filthy smelly and full up ashtray area and a few sporadic planters with faded old plastic plants. Kerb appeal lost my custom I'm afraid.

Went here with my sun 12till 6pm menu great value. Good you now put your car reg number into an i,pad in the pub 3hrs free. Slight not happy table sticky dont know if wiped staff great

Booked a table for 13, when I changed numbers and times, really cheerfully helpful. Ended up with 13 people on a Saturday evening. Car park had spaces, Table was ready, drink and food orders prompt and correct. All staff a pleasure to meet, Katie especially looked after our group really well. Even taking some very good group pictures. All the Food and drink orders went down really well. A vegan was well catered for. Easy choice for next family gathering, Dead easy 5 star review. Thanks Katie and associates.

Unfortunately, a disappointment. About food. The traditional cuisine was definitely not tasty, the meat in the salad and on the grill was dry and rubbery to the taste. Furniture such as tables and kitchen utensils are not very clean, we did not immediately find a clean table. As for the service, it was worse. The girl who served us was very unpleasant with us. I wanted to apologize for visiting her place. In general, my 10-year-old son wanted to come to this institution, today is his birthday. It's a pity that even he understood that the behavior of the waitress was very impolite.

Food and service is always great when we come to stay in Plymouth. Mr Walid is a absolute stand out character at this establishment. He always goes above and beyond to look after us. We have even had family dinners with up to 20 people and he is an absolute star. A credit to the business.

Food was shocking today. Asked a question regarding the sour cream being separate from the potato dippers got told yes it comes seperate for it to come out covering all the food. Then asked for all the food to come out together for one starter to arrive 10 mins before the rest of the food. Not there normal standard

Food is average. Sirloin steaks are poor quality. Thai curry came with peas ! I would avoid

I was really quite disappointed in the new menu the family come here quite often and all of our favourites were removed even the fish pie was removed, I really can’t see us coming back witch is a shame as we really enjoy the service.

Amazing breakfast deal, my son loves Black Pudding, but he said it tasted boiled or steamed..wrong texture and colour in the middle. Other than that...no problems at all with everything else. Will be returning soon xx

Food was lovely but seriously pathetic portions for the price you pay. Service atrocious for a very empty venue, I'm still waiting for my vinegar I asked for two days ago. Better places to visit with adult portions instead of children's meal sizes and attention to what is asked for by customers

Went in for a family meal for Father’s Day, we ate in the bar area because we hadn’t booked, which was fine, but the area didn’t feel particularly well maintained/cleaned, with the waste from one of the tables still on the sides and the carpet in need of a hoover. The food also left a lot to be desired. I had the trio of pies, which was nice, however, the quantity and quality of the mash was very poor. There was a small scoop of mash under each pie and it had clearly been left under lamp warming for some time as it was hard in some areas. Also there was more mash with the children’s meal we ordered than there was with my main, but that mash was again of the same quality. Alongside that, the skin on fries that came with the chicken burger tasted like they had a similar treatment to mash, as they were also hard. The price, was certainly not reflected in the quality of the meal.

All inclusive breakfast offer is family friendly. Food is actually good, but a bit slow restocking and a single coffee ☕️ machine spoils the overall experience. With free parking a bonus and kids eat free!

Went to eat this afternoon and the place was deserted apart from a few people having a drink! Ordered food then waited for over 45 mins but there was no one else eating so thought we had been forgotten! Could hear lots of conversations from behind the bar but no one let us know what was going on or why there was a delay? When it did arrive it was obvious it had been cooked at least 20 mins before as the chips were Luke warm as was the fish! We were in a hurry so just ate the food despite the temperature and left! Very disappointing! I regularly use table table restaurants and usually get good value! But I won’t be using this restaurant again

Dire Experience. I went for a meal on my own. It was a Monday early evening, so not busy, in fact as I approached the pub I thought it was closed. Eventually I was greeted with "no tables in the restaurant, but you can eat in the bar, just pick a table and order at the bar" So I did and frankly wished I had found somewhere else to eat... The only vacant table was filthy, but nobody offered to wipe it down. The food arrived at which point I had to go and find cutlery, but no knives available. The meal was OK, except I didn't get the poppadom that was supposed to be included. Nobody came to check the meal was OK, so I just left and doubt I will return.

Well, 2 very different experiences from this place, 1st was date night an wow! What a great night. The service was great, and the food was amazing. Quick service to the table with all round great atmosphere even made a tip as is was such a great evening well spent. However, the 2nd time (3 days apart), we had another night and brought our child, But we got the most opposite service and food. That staff were rude and unresponsive like they couldn't be bothered to work. The food oder came out wrong and warm. It just ruined the afternoon. The dessert on the second time around came out overly warm and one with no drizzle, when we only asked for no ice cream. Everything was overall a bad experience compared to the first time. Let's just hope it was a one off bad day.

Adel was an absolute delight and made our evening meal very enjoyable. She was very sweet when I shared footage of my daughter singing .

Unhelpful on arriving, didn't know what she was doing, had to get help to find a table. Food came at different times...kept children waiting.. Over charged for deserts we didn't order, luckily notices them on my bill when sat in the car, went back in and had to argue with same girl that we hadn't had them until it was proven by the waiter who served us. Not the best family meal experience.

Usual premier inn standard really but just have to mention our waitress , Adel. Bubbly ,happy funny, but efficient & quick. A breath of fresh air. Made our evening.

We went for mother's day lunch. The staff were very polite and friendly. The food was excellent, I had the Sunday roast and I struggled with eating it all. An added bonus was because I chose from the set menu for mother's day, my meal was free. Sam, Katie and Alex couldn't do enough for us.

The table was dirty, and I had to ask for a cloth to clean it. The staff were not busy when we went in but did not offer to clean it. The disabled toilet was soaked with some sort of fluid. I told staff about this but it took almost an hour to rectify. The other toilets (both male and female) were in a similar state with soaked toilet paper on the floor in the Ladies. The food was horrible. The crust of the beef and ale pie was rock hard and the child's beef burger was burnt and the beans were congealed. The skin on fries were bruised and covered in black flecks. We did not complain at the time as we had to take a tired and still hungry 4 year old home. I would NOT recommend this venue!
