Micro meals and gastro prices, walked in feeling hungry and left feeling hungry but lighter in the wallet. Only three tables in use but service at a snails pace by someone who was more interested in her phone

Amazing breakfast deal, my son loves Black Pudding, but he said it tasted boiled or steamed..wrong texture and colour in the middle. Other than that...no problems at all with everything else. Will be returning soon xx

Food was lovely but seriously pathetic portions for the price you pay. Service atrocious for a very empty venue, I'm still waiting for my vinegar I asked for two days ago. Better places to visit with adult portions instead of children's meal sizes and attention to what is asked for by customers

Gammon steak was not cooked, it was exchanged to find the second was still under done.

Food and staff is lovely good atmosphere

Went in for a family meal for Father’s Day, we ate in the bar area because we hadn’t booked, which was fine, but the area didn’t feel particularly well maintained/cleaned, with the waste from one of the tables still on the sides and the carpet in need of a hoover. The food also left a lot to be desired. I had the trio of pies, which was nice, however, the quantity and quality of the mash was very poor. There was a small scoop of mash under each pie and it had clearly been left under lamp warming for some time as it was hard in some areas. Also there was more mash with the children’s meal we ordered than there was with my main, but that mash was again of the same quality. Alongside that, the skin on fries that came with the chicken burger tasted like they had a similar treatment to mash, as they were also hard. The price, was certainly not reflected in the quality of the meal.

All inclusive breakfast offer is family friendly. Food is actually good, but a bit slow restocking and a single coffee ☕️ machine spoils the overall experience. With free parking a bonus and kids eat free!

Went to eat this afternoon and the place was deserted apart from a few people having a drink! Ordered food then waited for over 45 mins but there was no one else eating so thought we had been forgotten! Could hear lots of conversations from behind the bar but no one let us know what was going on or why there was a delay? When it did arrive it was obvious it had been cooked at least 20 mins before as the chips were Luke warm as was the fish! We were in a hurry so just ate the food despite the temperature and left! Very disappointing! I regularly use table table restaurants and usually get good value! But I won’t be using this restaurant again

Dire Experience. I went for a meal on my own. It was a Monday early evening, so not busy, in fact as I approached the pub I thought it was closed. Eventually I was greeted with "no tables in the restaurant, but you can eat in the bar, just pick a table and order at the bar" So I did and frankly wished I had found somewhere else to eat... The only vacant table was filthy, but nobody offered to wipe it down. The food arrived at which point I had to go and find cutlery, but no knives available. The meal was OK, except I didn't get the poppadom that was supposed to be included. Nobody came to check the meal was OK, so I just left and doubt I will return.

Well, 2 very different experiences from this place, 1st was date night an wow! What a great night. The service was great, and the food was amazing. Quick service to the table with all round great atmosphere even made a tip as is was such a great evening well spent. However, the 2nd time (3 days apart), we had another night and brought our child, But we got the most opposite service and food. That staff were rude and unresponsive like they couldn't be bothered to work. The food oder came out wrong and warm. It just ruined the afternoon. The dessert on the second time around came out overly warm and one with no drizzle, when we only asked for no ice cream. Everything was overall a bad experience compared to the first time. Let's just hope it was a one off bad day.

Adel was an absolute delight and made our evening meal very enjoyable. She was very sweet when I shared footage of my daughter singing .

Unhelpful on arriving, didn't know what she was doing, had to get help to find a table. Food came at different times...kept children waiting.. Over charged for deserts we didn't order, luckily notices them on my bill when sat in the car, went back in and had to argue with same girl that we hadn't had them until it was proven by the waiter who served us. Not the best family meal experience.

We went for mother's day lunch. The staff were very polite and friendly. The food was excellent, I had the Sunday roast and I struggled with eating it all. An added bonus was because I chose from the set menu for mother's day, my meal was free. Sam, Katie and Alex couldn't do enough for us.

Free kids meals, very rude perants very poorly behaved kids. We will not be going again this is not the first time, thiz has happened at this location. No problem as we have been many time but no more.

The table was dirty, and I had to ask for a cloth to clean it. The staff were not busy when we went in but did not offer to clean it. The disabled toilet was soaked with some sort of fluid. I told staff about this but it took almost an hour to rectify. The other toilets (both male and female) were in a similar state with soaked toilet paper on the floor in the Ladies. The food was horrible. The crust of the beef and ale pie was rock hard and the child's beef burger was burnt and the beans were congealed. The skin on fries were bruised and covered in black flecks. We did not complain at the time as we had to take a tired and still hungry 4 year old home. I would NOT recommend this venue!

Had a booking. Waited for 5 minutes at the counter being seen by at least 3 members of staff but let standing. Left in the end...

Fast service great atmosphere, lovely meals.

We visited in a large group on a quiet and stormy Sunday afternoon. Good points - All the staff we interacted with were friendly, polite, professional and helpful - Portions sizes were excellent - Good prices for dishes, especially the upgrades for extras - Quality of a lot of the food was decent, especially the Sunday roast meats, Yorkshire puddings and roast potatoes - Order accuracy was 100% and all 9 of us were served at the same time Bad points - Service was very slow, we waited over an hour for mains and despite only having two courses (mains and dessert) and leaving straight after we paid, we were there for two and a half hours. As I mentioned we were a large group but the restaurant wasn't very busy - The meat and roasted vegetables were good but the boiled vegetables were bland, overcooked and mushy - Not sure whether it was because they were waiting on one specific item to be ready but I got the impression that many of our desserts had been sat waiting before being brought out. The hot items were only warm, the ice cream had half melted and the custard dishes had a thick, orange film Overall, it was a little disappointing but there weren't any problems that couldn't be fixed fairly easily. I think perhaps they were just a little short staffed in the kitchen so I would definitely go back again as it could well have been a one off. Although I would still steer clear of the boiled veg just in case!

Lovely breakfast with the family this morning. Staff were friendly and more than accommodating. One of our children is partial to a bit of chocolate spread on his pancakes and when none was available the team came through with some chocolate sauce from the kitchen. The added touch was the rendition of "Happy Birthday" whilst delivering a plate of muffins with candles for my son's birthday. Cooked breakfast was cooked to order and was perfect. Good quality sausages and nicely cooked bacon. The selection of help yourself pastries, cereals, fruit and yogurts was plentiful and constantly topped up. Considering kids eat free with paying adults it proves incredible value for money. We will definitely be returning.

The service here is exceptional. Very friendly staff and more than happy to help whatever your needs and requests are. I highly recommend this place. Start of the day or end of the evening the standards stay high. If anything isn't right (we are human and make mistakes) it is sorted promptly.

The food was nicely cooked and the drinks were too but waiting for 35-40 minutes for the bill and having to chase them several times. I felt like walking out without paying. I felt like it started well but ended up poorly.

Lovely man named Brian served us. Very friendly and banterful. Lots of issues with the kitchen. Steaks were fatty. Staff lied and said there was a "system issue" with our food which turned out to be ignorant chefs who didn't do the order. Only because of Brian are there any stars at all!

A family of 7 with no booking on a busy Saturday lunchtime and we were quickly shown to a table including one that had space for one of our party in a cumbersome wheelchair. Well done to Rachel and the team. Food was standard chain pub fayre but was obviously freshly cooked to order, all came out hot and at the same time and was very acceptable.

My came into the pub after Christmas and found there to be hardly any staff, plates left on tables, sticky tables that had been cleared and not wiped over, customers clearing tables and dirty toilets, not even keeping to basic hygiene standards. More concerning is my wife developed food poisoning from a chicken tikka masala 2 hours after which lasted for 4 days. I raised this with the manager who was dismissive, defensive not letting me speak which was very rude! I was trying to keep this local but having been spoken to like that he doesn’t deserve my business and I will escalate this to Whitbread as a formal complaint.

Christmas Day - great food, service and nice atmosphere. No waiting around, generous portions and fairly priced. Would easily go again for Christmas and any other time.

Lager flat, just waisted some air when asked which one they sell the most. Had to wait for a while as well for someone turning g up at the bar to serve us. I assume that food does not come with cutlery, bring your own or locate waiters station. No napkins included ? Waste of money.

Overall a lovely restaurant.. only reason for not giving the full 5 star review is because as nice the food and service was, as it got busier there were a lot of mistakes made and waiting times drastically increased.. other than that, brilliant place!

Our waitress, Anna, did a super job of looking after us and making sure everything was perfect. We would recommended Lockyers Quay -super friendly staff and management and amazing value for money.

Hi. I always leave poor reviews as a last result and give a chance to improve. After two days and a moderately busy restaraunt for dinner and breakfast. The service is very disappointing. Customers left waiting to make their order. 20 mins. Staff too busy chatting. Then the incorrect order served. And not seeing again for another 15 mins while they rectify it.

Had roast came out cold roast pots like boiled spud last weeks hardly any gravy 10. 49 for like a kids size meal worst roast ever stupidly we should of sent it back but we were all starving never again go there should of asked for refund iam sure food hygiene should go in there no way was food up to tempeture

The food is unexciting and uninspiring but is cooked well,tastes good and reasonably priced. The service is excellent and the restaurant is clean warm and inviting. No complaints.

Wide menu selection catering for all tastes, reasonably priced. Excellent service and friendly staff. Plenty outside seats if weather is suitable. Can be a little loud, it is a pub after all so not potentially the place for a romantic meal

Firstly for advertising the best Sunday roast in town, I was bitterly disappointed. After 40 mins of being available, I was told there was no turkey left, then when I said gammon is fine she said that's all gone as well. Wasn't the most helpful person to be serving. Had to have the beef, the amount of food on the plate was very minimal for paying the extra amount for a bigger plate. The sausage was white, no colour.. the carrot mash was about a 50 pence piece size, the stuffing ball was tiny. Hard carrots, no flavour to anything and I found a hair in my beef. Very disappointed. Have had many meals here over the year and never a problem. Wasn't even offered a refund or anything. Paid full price. Safe to say we won't be back, sadly as usually one of our favourite eateries.

Went on a Friday morning for a team meeting breakfast. £9.99 for an unlimited cooked breakfast is brilliant but the quality was also really enjoyable. The service from staff was great, polite and really helpful. 100% would come here again for breakfast for work or outside of work.

Up and down experience. We were all looking forward to a roast dinner on the Sunday. Arrived at 2pm to be told that they had run out of beef and gammon two hours after the roast dinners had started . 5 of the party ordered the roast turkey to be told that they had ran out of that aswell! Ordered starters and Mains from the normal menu instead which were very nice . We paid and when we got home realised we were over charged £37.00 as they didn’t take the roasts off our bill! Went back to the pub and they kindly refunded us Won’t be our first choice to return to again . Food is decent but management and customer service needs improvement.

Avoid. Can't even give it a 1 star for food. Very poor food quality and service. Customers clearing and cleaning their own tables as no staff bothered. Had ordered food and after a very long wait and despite asking for the table to be cleared twice, the food arrived but server unable to put it on the table as no space due to dirty dishes and glasses from the last customers. Food poor, steak pie was all gravy and pastry and the chicken and ham was just that, no sauce in the pie so very dry. Tried to speak to the manager but she was uninterested and just said "sorry about that" several times in a patronising manner. Should have walked out when we were waiting to enquire about a table and 3 members of staff including the manager, who were all stood behind the bar chatting, just looked at us and then carried on talking for several minutes. Staff training needed urgently.
