Ordered lamb masala via Deliveroo but was a cheap beef stewing steak, blatently not lamb

Very nice Indian just outside main Barbican area but great service nice food and sensible prices. Would Def go back when in fact the area (visiting yachtsman)

I have no idea why I’ve never visited this restaurant before. A little off the beaten track, but actually right next to the new Bar Code centre. I wasn’t expecting too much but the “eat in” reviews here looked good so some friends and I thought we’d give it a try. I think it opened just before lock down. Wow. Ordered a variety of dishes. Mixed kebab starters, chicken chat, onion bhajis and tandoori chicken. It was fantastic. All of it. Fresh and beautifully cooked. Then came the curries. I had a fabulous jalfrezi along with a keema and garlic naan. It was superb. There was a madras and a couple of other curries too with sides. Well - I agree with another reviewer on here. The best in the city. I was amazed that the restaurant was empty apart from us. Spread the word Plymouth. This place is definitely worth a visit. I’ll be back very soon!

When we moved to Plymouth I didn't think I'd find an Indian restaurant and takeaway that could match or beat the one I grew up visiting every month in Somerset. After trying so many Indian takeout places in Plymouth I thought I would never find one I liked... but omg I absolutely love this place! The food is so incredible and full of flavour! They are also really great at dealing with allergies, they cater for me so well and we've been several times now. Could not rate this place high enough! (Just don't shovel it into your mouth without checking for a whole chilli, big mistake!)

Definitely best Indian in the city. In my opinion. Have eaten in Indian restaurants all over country for over 30 years and this is better than any other in Plymouth. And I have eaten in all the others.....

Took over 2 hours to deliver our order, 2 phone calls to chase it up, firstly told it would be 5 more minutes, 2nd call told me he would call the driver and call me back. 15 minutes later, I called again to be told it would be 10 minutes. Food arrived 15 minutes later. Poor customer service, no offer of discount or partial refund. Ordered a chicken pathia, got very chewy lamb, flavour ok tho. Chips were soggy. Food was lukewarm so needed reheating. Ordered mango chutney got raita which tasted and smelled like gone off yogurt. All in all, very poor, will not be ordering from them again.

Best Indian meal we’ve had in a long time !! Piping hot fantastic flavours . Callum the boss man was awesome and very knowledgeable. Will be heading back there soon as we can 👌👌

Wow! I wish I came here earlier. Their food was delicious, prices made me smile, my order was ready to collect within 20mins and the staff were really friendly. Plus in the restaurant is a beautiful historic water well from 15th century that I thought was a really cool addition to a restaurant. Shall certainly be returning

Highly recommended! This is a small friendly restaurant, beautifully decorated, pristine, modern,with comfortable chairs that we visited for an evening meal on the off chance. The service was super friendly, geniuinely caring .Food was beautifully presented, very tasty and reasonably priced. Will certainly return again in the future!

I have eaten here under this ownership before and was happy. This time service mediocre. Food was ok. Plus point was chicken that had clearly been cut from the bone and not pre prepared as cubes. But a piece of small bone and a little gristle. Flavour of garlic chilli chicken with garlic rice dominated by dry flakes of garlic that were not fully reconstituted and therefore a bit chewy. No objection to flakes but prefer fresh. The garlic rice was too oily. Apart from above the masala was nice if slightly underseasoned for my taste. My gut feeling that this was a one off. Hopefully better next time.

No flavour. If you’re from london like me trust me it’s rubbish, it’s nothing like the exquisite Indian /Bengali food we encounter on our streets.I felt like I needed to throw up after.

Food was delivered 50 minuities late, due to this it was cold. Also 2 portions of rice were missing, all in all a nightmare.

Really.late delivery.thru just eat. Challenging man on phone when complained.will never order again. Do not recommend this to anyone. Awful experience

Best curry in Plymouth for sure 😁 the king prawn dhansak is beautifully cooked and my partner loves the vindaloo.

Been using BS for a while now and have eaten a variety of delights on their menu and all dishes stand strong in their flavour , texture and individuality, no inexperience or blandness in anything ive tried so far. Polite and calm delivery and always within 45 mins. Really impressed and will continue to use. You won't be dissappointed, i've not gone elsewhere since using them. Bon Appetite !

Delivery service poor, but tasty food. I ordered via Deliveroo but the restaurant use own delivery driver. Missing food, always a bad thing when you have people to feed who have chosen meals. They did try to rectify by sending out the missing food but it was way later, we’ll after we had eaten what was delivered. I sadly wouldn’t get delivery from here as can’t be trusted to deliver right food. It’s a shame as food was tasty. Oh well!

Fairly new ownership doing the restaurant proud. The restaurant itself could really have a great feel and vibe if they can get it right. Its in a convenient location, quite but just off the throng of the city. The food itself was very good. We had a mixed sharing platter to start that was of good value and great taste. We both had curries which names escape me but which were well cooked. The service was very good as well. Attentive but not overbearing. My only gripe was the service charge added to the bill. I despise service charges. I tipped the waiter as well as he was so good and I was not sure he would get the service charge passed onto him.

The food was excellent, the lamb was tender, the spices well balanced, and the nann bread was the best both of us have ever eaten! Service was very good. Will definitely go back

Tried this place for the first time. Poppadoms with the usual bits and pieces but in addition a lovely tamarind dip. Lovely. Then a garlic, chilli masala dish with garlic rice. Chicken right off the bone not cubed. Taste wonderful. If there was a downside it would be the fact it appears a little pricey but that matters not when you get such good food and service.

We have been waiting for three hours and food never arrived. The phone is off the hook and not even Deliveroo managed to get in touch with them. A total scam.

Husain was an excellent host. The lamb korma was delicious and we’ll be back soon.

The place was spotless. The staff were lovely and attentive, especially Ali. I thought I'd try something new and ordered the keema peas balti which was stunning. I also asked for chana masala which wasn't on the menu but the restaurant were happy to oblige. It was the best chana masala I'd ever eaten despite the chef saying it was the first time he'd cooked it. He is a real talent. This is very definitely my favourite new Indian restaurant and takeaway. Absolutely loved it.

Noticed the newly opened Bengal Flavour on the way home on New Year’s Eve and decided we would give it a try. Found the website which is new and very clunky so ended up phoning order. One set fixed price meal and the other a chicken sashlick from the full menu which we hadn’t been able load. All arrived in less than the 40 minutes predicted and cost £2 for the man. All very well cooked, plentiful, tasty and hot. Total £40 all in. The name is Bengal and the sign says Bangladeshi but we think the choice and style is a bit wider. Would consider eating there, maybe in a group and after a few beers.
