Food was minging to be honest......chicken balls were like rubber......salt and pepper chicken like what the hell....never seen it cooked like before and it was not very nice.....use to use this chinese often 12 months ago but prices became crazy high.....thought we try today as it was previously nice but will never order again Chickwn curry was also like 50% mushrooms

Having been away and not had time to shop decided to have a T/A so went on line and ordered from here So easy to order and it arrived on time piping hot. The Thai Green Prawn Curry had a lovely flavour and about 7 large Prawns. Singapore Noodles and a Vegetable Curry All delicious and will certainly be ordering again

This use to be our favourite Chinese but after the last 3 orders we will not be ordering again. The food quality is very very cheap now , I've had better supermarket takeaways . The quantity has changed aswell. It is very expensive now as prices have shot up massively. We will not be ordering again, such a shame , ever since the shop in mutley opened our local in Plympton started to get worse.

Speedy delivery but utterly shocking, used to be considered one of the best Asian restaurants in Mutley, to being easily worst in Plymouth, the quality of the food is not worth your money.

First time ordering from here tonight and the food was on time as started, lovely and hot a very tasty. The chicken pad Thai was beautiful and very filling. Salt and pepper chips were a little poor on the seasoning but still lovely. Delivery to Ivybridge which is a bonus. Will be back again.

This was a delivery. I asked for the curry to be extra spicy with extra chillis. What I did get was what seemed like loads of pepper added instead! There were no chilli's as other places would add. But instead chilli powder or pepper or whatever was added, seemed pepper to me. Stated large curry but the container was only 3/4 full so more like large container normal curry portion. Noodles initially seems OK but had a stale wierd taste especially on the onions. Not too happy this time.

This use to be our go to Chinese takeaway but stopped getting it from here Feb 2023 when their prices shot up. Thought we'd give it another try last night (Nov 2023) but was very disappointed to see the standards have gone downwards. My rice hardly had any meat in it and what meat it did have was very tiny chunks. Was fairly bland too. The Foo Yung was very light on ingredients as well, was mostly egg. My Mrs curry was like a soup! And the chicken in it was ok but not the lovely pieces of stringy chicken that it use to be. We'll be sticking to China Chef for now onwards. Even with their recent price increases they are still cheaper than Asian box, saving me around £200 a year.

Mongolian Beef is delicious, quality is always good. We had family down from Scotland and ordered quite a large meal, pre-ordered it to arrive at 8pm and it was two minutes early. The food came well packaged it was piping hot and our regular delivery driver is always friendly, we forgot to ask for new menus and he kindly posted a couple through our letter box later that evening without us asking.

Order put i at 5-15 had to wait 2 1/2 hrs for it to be delivered.

I've been a regular here for years now, I order at least once a week by pre-ordering or failing that I order a collection and pick it up on my way home from work, I know they are a popular takeaway so I usually order my food early during the day to avoid having to wait to long. I have watched them all in action and they seem like a super tight-knit team, drivers always rushing in and then out, the guys behind the counter are very pro-active when it comes to organising everything, everyone seems to know exactly what they are doing and me being nosey I found out they monitor and adjust delivery times throughout the night. Having ADHD I don't miss much in the way of details.

Great food . Delivery can be a bit slow at times . But good is amazing

Ordered food at 5.45pm its now 20.10 pm and still waiting!!! Phoned for update to be told trouble with driver 30 mins extra wait. 30 mins now up and still waiting. Couldnt of cared less when we phoned up. Disgusting service not happy!!

Never have I ordered a Chinese where it took 3hrs! Regardless of the day/time of order. Food was nice except had a hair/fibre in one of the dishes. Food was steaming but once plated went very cold quickly- only x2 people eating. Would possibly order again as food was nice however more dissapointed in the wait time than the hair. So would probably order elsewhere.

Ordered from here recently when visiting a family member in Plympton. Take away/delivery only. Aromatic crispy duck and Hong Kong style sweet and sour chicken were both delicious. Delivery was courteous and prompt and all the food delivered hot and fresh. Very nice.

Was in hotel for night ordered, delivered on time, piping hot. Best crispy beef I've EVER had. Really good price on whole menu. Very impressed, gutted its not local to me. Really recommend!

The Beijing beef is my new found favourite so delicious and tender. Be aware if collecting its cash only. We got caught out first time. Definitely recommend though.

Just had dinner at Asian Box on Mutely Plain. Absolutely incredible! We had the Malatang soup which was delicious and warming with lots of different things to try in it. I would 100% recommend Asian Box to someone looking for something different, authentic and yummy.

Read reviews thought id try here. Well never again, didnt seem anything cooked fresh chips hard hong kong syle chicken taste less.

Used to be my favourite Chinese takeaway. Recently the prices have shot up and the quality has dropped. Still not the worst I've had, but think I prefer China Chef now. P.s as suggested called to speak to manager and the girl who answered was rude as said call back next week. Now I will definitely not order from here. Good luck and good bye (for good)

Asian box is by far the best Chinese in Plymouth. We have enjoyed everything that we have tried from the menu. The counter staff are welcoming and polite. Definitely our regular from now on 😊

I have been going to Asian Box for a takeaway for a few months now and can honestly say I will never go back to another Chinese. Every dish I have had is a great portion and had amazing taste. Their chicken in black bean sauce is amazing. Friendly and helpful staff every time I’ve visited. Great value for money!

Had a takeaway delivery from here first time the delivery came on time, valentine's this year it arrived an hour later, first time food arrived piping hot and delicious, second time had to be reheated in air fryer but still tasted great. Salt and chilli fries are yum. Beef in black bean sauce was great sauce but meat had a bit of grissle in it. Banana fritters were exceptional.

Do not eat here! Ordered a vegetarian tofu dish and I bit into a piece of CHICKEN!! Manager did not care and never phoned back, now conveniently they are closed for a holiday. Have picture as proof and will be reporting. Thankyou for ruining our Valentine's day meal.

We ordered a takeaway from Asian Box last night and the Singapore Vermicelli Noodles was so salty it was inedible. We phoned them to complain but they refused to replace the meal unless we ordered a whole new meal and we could have one dish free. We even kept the inedible meal to prove it was too salty. This is not very good customer service. We have used this takeaway since it opened years ago and never had a bad meal. We certainly won’t be using this place again.

Told to order via the app by the takeaway and then waited over 2 hours for the food. We even rang them an 1 1/2 in and were told it was on the way only for them to back track and say it would be 15 - 20 minutes before it was sent out. It wasn't. The saving grace is that the food is very good, but the customer service is appalling. There are other options in Plymouth for Pad Thai. Next time we will use one of them.

Disappointed after having to wait nearly 3 hours for delivery and then discovered that pancakes were missing that were meant to go with crispy duck. Tried calling to let them know but no answer. Such a shame as normally can’t fault Asian Box.

Very disappointing. Crispy aromatic duck was not crispy - in fact it was slimy. Only 6 pancakes and very meagre portion of cucumber and spring onions. Crispy sweet and sour chicken balls also were not crispy and the chicken was soggy. I had to collect as delivery time quoted was 2 hours. Surely they need more drivers? A complete waste of money and will not be ordering food from Asian Box again!

This is in my opinion by far the best Chinese in plympton. We have Chinese from here more than we’d like to admit. Always piping hot and good quality food with excellent flavours.

Very, very slow for a delivery. Won’t use them again

This order was over an hour late !! When I first ordered I missed some items off of my order so I rang up after half hour trying to get through and speaking to a robot on their website to amend the order to be told once it was paid for I couldn’t add anything on. Surely I would just pay again??? A 2 and a half hour wait for a Chinese takeaway is just unacceptable. Customer service was shocking. Food was cold and congealed into a jelly. I would give 0 stars if I could.

Usually very pleased with food from Asian Box however, this time round, very poor. Was told to collect at 18:30 so we turned up at 18:25. The total cost of order £37. Returned home, a couple of minutes away, literally - the food cold. Meals very bland, not a lot of flavour to it at all. £37 and no complementary prawn crackers, now that’s a liberty 😂. Wouldn’t recommend to be honest and certainly will not be going back again 😮 very disappointed. VILE

We have been using Asian box for years. Have lived in plympton for decades and tried them all. Genuinely never had a bad meal, always tastes great and they offer a lot of variety that other take outs in plympton don’t. Since having kids always go for delivery now and only once in to many years to remember have we had an long wait but were kept informed by them contacting us rather than us them. Sort don’t want to say how good they are from a selfish point of view if you know what I mean😜

The best Asian food in Plympton. We tend to pre-order and it generally arrives early or on time. There is a large selection of meals to choose from, and they are always hot and tasty.

Always delicious. Our favorite Chinese but pre order on weekends or expect a VERY long wait for your food. They get very busy and delivery can take an extremely long time as a result.

Just had a meal from Asian box. Wasn’t really a meal to be honest, had to bin the chips straight away as they hadn’t been cooked properly. A couple were edible,but the rest were literally uncooked,pale,& raw. Sweet & Sour prawns likewise,batter was gooey & barely cooked, and the sweet & sour sauce was so runny,it was just like (slightly) flavoured water. Fortunately I’d ordered curry sauce,which I had to use to flavour the meal. Curry sauce was really nice by the way,tasted fresh,unlike the rest of it. Won’t be using this place again,ever😩

We ordered at 6pm tonight and asked for delivery at 8.40pm. At half 9 we called to ask where our food was, you said it was being prepared. At 10 we called again, no answer. We live round the corner so I walked down, no one there. You've taken our money and taken the piss. We will never use you again

First ordered from Asian Box at the beginning of March as we were looking for a different takeaway delivery as our local one was closed. We though that takeaway was the best we had had in a long time and were amazed to find that the one we had tonight was even better! Delivered promptly and piping hot despite being delivered to Ivybridge. There is such an extensive menu that we will take years to tire of it!

Our usual Chinese was closed so gave it a go. A little overpriced compared to our usual and the food was too dry and bland for my liking. Cash only as well which wasn't made clear when we went to collect.

Every meal we try in this take away is exceptional. King prawns FRESH! Delivered each day, simply the best ! I've lived all over the UK 🇬🇧 and this really is the best Chinese I've found. Always freshly cooked, rice separates perfectly. Staff helpful. Highly recommended, give them a try, you won't be disappointed.

what an experience placed an order directly with the shop and they told us it would be between one hour to an hour and half, three quarters of an hour later they rang us to say was the order for tonight or tomorrow we said tonight and they said everything was under control. They then rang again an hour later and said the order was misplaced and it would be another 2 hours dont think we will be returning here again

Best Chinese food place in Plympton, if not Plymouth. Has amazing food and service - they assisted me once when I was having issues paying and talked me through using my card, which was a big help. Their menu has a lot of choice and option and I haven't had a bad experience.The only warning I can give is order pretty early in advance between around 5-9pm, because that's when the wait times can grow pretty big. Apart from that, very heavily recommend.

Best Chinese in Plymouth, we're so lucky to have it in Plympton! Aromatic duck is amazing, proper peices of meat in all the dishes, no dry scraggy scraps like other Chinese restaurants do. Very tasty and super ordering system online. Delivery can sometimes be slow but I suppose when they're this good they're busy! Worth a the wait in my opinion.

Not sure if they have a new chef ? But when we started using Asian box the food was fantastic but the last two times we've been there we were very disappointed

Muy decepcionado, el sistema de pedidos es excelente, puede ver cuándo se cocinó la comida y, lamentablemente, en el camino no llegó a la hora programada. I have ordered from here a few times now and each time the food has been perfect. I can highly recommend King Prawn in Black Bean Sauce. They definitely do not scrimp on the prawns or flavour. Good value for money.

La comida estaba bien caliente y deliciosa, teníamos bolas de pollo, tostadas de gambas con sésamo, galletas saladas de gambas, arroz frito con huevo y pollo en salsa de pimienta negra. Todo muy sabroso, el plato de pollo a la pimienta negra era particularmente delicioso.

Lo siento, no me impresionó. . . . ordenó rendang de carne que se supone que es un curry reducido lentamente. . . . llegó como rodajas en una salsa cremosa no descripta! ! Decided to give this take away a go rather than the Chinese takeaway's local to me that are abysmal. Food was ready when I arrived, kitchen is open to the serving counter which is always encouraging. Two Oriental men doing the cooking. Menu is extensive but my order was only a small one. Food was hot and tasty and the nice touch of free fortune cookies in the bag. Will use again.

Even though I ordered the Hong-Kong sweet n sour chicken by mistake my god it was Awesome! So I'll definitely be ordering this one in future. The food was all freshly cook & all tasted amazing, all delivered hot with a friendly smile. This is definitely my new Takeaway 5*****

Real authentic food, absolutely stunning. I tend to try different things, tried the house pad tai and now tend to order it every time. Really cant Express how much these guys put there all into what there cooking. Can pay via cash or card with there online service or download the app on google play store, plus collect points from each order and get a meal on them. Seriously the best in and around Plymouth. Great job asian box, keep it up A+++

Hands down the best Asian Takeway in Plympton, the food tastes amazing, and the delivery service is on time, the menu selection is great, plenty to choose from especially for any palette. Recently they had issues with there online system, while I was waiting I got a phone call which politely explained the situation and said my food was on the way, sure enough 10 minutes later the door bell went. Habiendo notado que la comida va cuesta abajo y que obtiene una calificación de comida espantosa y que nos ausentamos sospechosamente de Trip Advisor, decidimos probar el box asiático.¡Qué diferencia en sabor y calidad! La comida es simplemente encantadora. Acabamos de ordenar y recoger por segunda vez. Probamos diferentes platos y sabían tan bien como el primer pedido. El personal es realmente educado y amable, y la comida es excelente. ¿Qué más se puede pedir?¡Qué triste que no los probáramos cuando se abrieron por primera vez y tardamos tanto en descubrir lo buenos que son!

An averagely priced outlet producing average quality food. Having had three orders over a 12 month period, I found that the food was not particularly tasty, sometimes greasy and generally, well "Average". Perfectly edible and fairly priced, but just not memorable!
