Wok N Roll in Plymouth

Not a dine in takeaway only, and absolutely flavoursome best IMHO in plymouth

I ordered the chicken balls, king prawns with mixed vegetables, and a house special chow mein with prawns crackers (not pictured) and a 1.5L bottle of Tango (also not pictured). The food is nice and hot, everything tastes amazing, the chicken balls are nice and crispy, the sweet and sour sauce is probably the best I’ve had, and the bottle of tango I got is nice and cold too. The delivery drivers are swift and are competent at following instructing as to where to drop off the food- no problems at all. Also, good for price, wok n roll was in the cheaper sorted and filtered places on Uber eats but that is not a bad thing.

Overpriced pure crap, everything literally tasteless went back numerous times just thinking it’s a bad day but everything is still rubbish

Had a takeaway. It wasn't good. Sloppy and greasy. Will never order from this place again ..It had good reviews but my own experience was bad

service is awful. 2 minute drive from ours and it’s took well over hour and a half. lady on the phone didn’t even care about our food and yet they kept saying the drivers left and is 5 minutes away. some say slow and steady win the race, but this time it defintley lost, by a big big margin.

The chips are actually terrible, twice. I just can't reccomend, not for that price I've never known anywhere to simply rehead. I've had to add water and microwave...more than dissapointed ...if I'd know o was cooking my own food, I'd have done that xx

First try for me of this place . Nothing really wrong with the food , possibly down to personal taste but for me it wasnt quite right. Decent sized portions throughout but my chicken curry wasnt as expected seemed to be missing some flavour. The worst thing by far was the chicken , it tastes strange in texture as it is the cheap pumped with water type . Unlikely to try again

Always getting the orders wrong. Young lad on the phone was so rude and non apologetic when getting my order wrong. Didn't refund me or give me anything to apologise. The food was nice but paid for extra prawns and recieved two?! And very little sauce.

The food was awful, everything tasted sweet with no other flavor. Delivery took 1h30.

Hands down, the best crispy chilli chicken I've ever had! We asked for no msg and what a difference to the sauce, so clean tasting! Thank you guys, we'll be back!

Service is good but i was very disappointed about the food, i ordered friedrice, pad thai, and chicken curry..... pad thai is very sweet and chicken curry too sweet i can even taste the other ingredients that they put in it its like u put sugar on that noodle and say its padthai ohhh man i put it all in the bin. Total waste of money and time.

Not happy at all. Ordered food at 7:35, called at 9 when it still hadn’t arrived to be told it would be another 30 minutes. 2 hours wait simply isn’t acceptable. The woman on the phone was totally unhelpful. No apology offered and certainly no refund. I’ve ordered from here so many times but this has put me off entirely.

Wok n roll is my favourite Chinese for vermicelli 👌 The sweet an sour Hong Kong style was also very delicious. I'm a big Noddle fan and this place tastes fresh and not greasy!

Delivery was rubbish, took around an hour and a half. However the food is pretty good and worth the wait. The wan tan soup is delicious, egg fried rice and crispy chilli beef is also pretty good. The sesame prawn toast however was hollow inside, i dont think there was any prawns in there.

Greedy.Doubled their delivery charge. Was my go to takeaway but I won't be using this shop again.

Tried this place twice now and really disappointed on both visits. Rubber chicken, mushy spring rolls. Tried the salt and pepper chicken on my first visit which was also rubbery and tasteless.

This was ALWAYS my favourite Chinese. But over the last few months it’s always closed. I’m unsure if they’ve closed down. Don’t see how it can be financially viable anymore when it’s always closed

I am affraid to say this was one of the worst meals I have had from a takeaway for a very line time, soft noodles were dry and tasteless the same with the egg fried rice sweet and sour sauce was so thick it wouldn’t pour out of the container. Chicken balls are huge with way to much batter and ribs again tasteless, the reason for 2 stars was because of the shredded beef which wasn’t bad. I won’t be back I am sorry to say so a tin of soup for me tonight it is!!!

The food isn't very nice here. The sauces and the curry/ satay dishes all taste like they have gravy in them. The China express nearby is a tastier.

Just had the most amazing takeaway from you, delivered before time given and the food turned up piping hot! The beef in oyster sauce was 10/10 and my eight year old absolutely loves the prawn toast! Stunning meal and will definitely recommend to friends! 👍

Sorry to say it but the takeaway that was delivered was awful. We ordered honey spare ribs and kung po chicken as main dishes. Both were dried out and hard. I understand with delivery that it may not be piping hot but it was tepid at best. The chips were hard, brown and overcooked. This with prawn crackers and delivery cost almost £20. Save your money or find another takeaway

Lovely takeaway from here while on holiday. Mini spring rolls and ribs were great. Would definitely recommend

I ordered chicken chow mein. This should be smoky noodles with onion and bean sprouts and chicken. Instead it was soggy sweet noodles with flabby unknown meat and vegetables. It went straight in the bin. What a waste of money. It was like whatever you ordered they were going to serve you the same stuff. Vile vile vile. It doesn’t even resemble a chow mein. Also £4.70 for a few chips with three pieces of onion and two tiny pieces of chilli???? Not salt n chilli chips, just a massive rip off! This was a payday treat which I don’t do very often and I’m gutted. What a waste of £11.50. Even the bin was put out.

Done a massive order. All the meat was rubbish, food came cold and it took over 2 hours to be delivered only thing I ate was the prawn crackers 😂

Very happy with this takeaway, it was fresh and hot and very tasty. There was no delay and couldn’t fault it. Only criticism is that they only take cash which is a pain.

Delicious, piping hot, delivered early.

I was recommended them from somebody I knew....first order and they forgot the most crucial part of the meal....the sauces....ruined the whole meal....tried them again a month later and begged the girl on the phone to make sure the sauce is not forgotten this time.....you guessed it they still forgot....someone down there is taking the piss....will not use again out of principle.....,shambolic .

Moved into area and tried this takeaway and was delighted with their food. Friendly staff and food is cooked fresh.

Tasted very good, they do a student discount too so make sure to check and order from the store rather from online.

Recently had some meals from the above. The meals have been good up to this latest one have been good.... Ver poor this time ,leaving out a piece of hard plastic in the food

Brilliant excellent food.Well worth the money. Best Chinese food takeaway. Good big chunky bits of chicken and veg in my chow mein. My husband loves the chicken balls and curry sauce. Also the sweet and sour sauce that came with the chicken balls. I highly recommend this place. Lovey hot food on Christmas Eve. We have ordered about 3 times now. Will definitely order more next year.Thanks to all the delivery drivers, people who work in the shop and who cooks the food. You all do a brilliant job.

I always come to wok n roll as it is quick and convenient for me to being so local. When I first tried in May I Honeslty now won’t recommend any other Chinese. Prices are good and the food is always delicious. Staff are always friendly and smiley too

0 stars not 1! Absolutely shocking, worst Chinese I have ever had! It had so much salt and such chewy meat it wasn’t even edible. Then when I complained they didn’t want to give a refund and said I can have a credit note and then when I rang up to order using my credit note they claimed there was no record of it until I said I’ll put it on social media then they agreed to only cover 1 dish. DO NOT GO THERE

We tried this for the first time and it was shocking! Food was the worse ever! When i complained they offered me a credit note but a few days later they are denying that i ever had one. Do not buy from here.

Wouldnt use again only ordered because due to current situation our normal Chinese takeaway was closed .I specifically ordered 3 main dishes the curry did not turn up when I rang ,the lady said the curry was not ordered I definataly did order it.Food not wonderful so wouldnt recommend.

Best Chinese in Plymouth, such fresh tasty food, prices are so so reasonably but would still say for your money it’s the best Chinese iv eaten. Very fussy eater as I’m a foody but would highly recommend this place to anyone and will always rate it highly!

Not even worth one start after tonight's experience. I would have said the best Chinese take away a year ago. I dunno what has happened to this place bit the last 4 maybe 5 orders have been absolutely disgusting I wouldn't even fees it to a cat. 2hrs wait it finally arrives but omg vile food again over cooked crispy chilly pork. Solid under cooked chips. Avoid this place cold and soggy vile food

Después de escuchar un par de buenas críticas sobre Wok 'n' Roll, pensamos en probarlo, la experiencia comenzó bien, pero desafortunadamente no duró. Buena selección de comida, servicio bastante rápido (si recogimos, lo cual hicimos) y personal amable. Pero luego a la comida. . . . . Oh querido.Lo positivo primero. La sal y las patatas fritas de chile eran encantadores, al igual que la salsa de curry.El resto de los platos pueden describirse mejor como comidas preparadas en el supermercado. Si bien no eran horribles, eran muy mediocres y los ingredientes tenían un sabor barato, como el pollo bombeado con agua. El pollo con sal y chile básicamente sabe a nuggets de pollo frito. El arroz estaba seco. Las galletas saladas de gambas, aunque gratis con nuestra comida, no estaban bien cocidas, lo que significa que algunas estaban duras y pegajosas. Y en lo que respecta a los panqueques, simplemente los peores que he probado, a menos que, por supuesto, te gusten las cebollas hervidas con un poco de zanahoria, un solo langostino y lo que solo se puede describir como jamón en cubos envuelto en cartón frito. Ni un frijol a la vista. Una mordida me provocó náuseas, nadie intentó siquiera la otra, fue directo a la basura.Todos engañamos en nuestras dietas como un regalo para el cumpleaños de mi hija, pero nosotros fuimos los que terminamos sintiéndonos engañados. Not for me i ordered a special curry a chicken curry prawn chow mein singapoor rice egg fried rice and hot wings . The special curry had a peice of beef and pork in it each about 20cm squared so small i didnt think it had any at first . The chicken wings are hoorendouse and so was most of it . The sungapor rice also is bare preety much as bare as the egg fried rice . Not a patch on jade garden

Me lo recomendaron pero no volveré a molestar. Esperamos más de una hora para la entrega. Las bolas de cerdo eran tan duras que no pude meter el tenedor y cuando las abrí, había un pequeño trozo de carne de cerdo adentro que estaba demasiado cocido y seco. Sin embargo, Rice era encantador. Todos los platos estaban calientes pero bien.

Very well prepared food and friendly place

We often struggle to find Chinese restaurants that will deliver to our area that we can order through a food delivery app. However we found Wok n Roll on one of those online ordering sites. Having not eaten there before we read a few reviews before placing our order. We always assume reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt but in general they seemed positive so we gave them a go. It was a rough Friday evening, rain pounding, no food in the fridge so we ordered several dishes to be delivered. We live quite a distance from this restaurant so when delivery was predicted to be an hour later we were pretty impressed as the “local” ones can be an hour to an hour and a half. But we were shocked when our food arrived just 30minutes later!! We dived into our dinner and both of us kept commenting on how nice the flavours were. We enjoyed every meal, with some of them tasting better than our favourite Chinese restaurant! We will definitely be ordering from Wok n Roll again! Yum yum!

The first time I ordered food from Wok n roll was last December, my delivery was over an hour later than expected due to a mix on their part. I spoke to them on the phone, they apologised and offered me 20% discount on my next order, which I thought was fair enough. However, when the food finally arrived, I was very disappointed, it was tasteless and probably the worst Chinese takeaway I’d ever had.Nevertheless, 7 months later, after a friend was saying that they were really good, I thought I’d give them another chance. So I popped into their shop and politely asked about the discount that they said I could have. They told me that they had no record of it because it was such a long time ago! (7 months!)I was very hungry at the time and couldn’t be bothered to go elsewhere as it’s near to where I live. The food I ordered tasted ok, flavour wise it was a slight improvement on what I’d had before but unfortunately it have given me a spot of diarrhoea and left me running to the toilet a few times!So all in all my experience with Wok n roll has not been very good. There’s far more better Chinese takeaways in Plymouth to choose from!

Solo he usado Wok n Roll como mi chino local ya que he vivido en el área.La comida es siempre caliente y sabrosa (menos 1 plato que tuve una vez).Normalmente se obtienen alitas de pollo con sal y pimienta que siempre se cocinan a la perfección, nunca se secan y la guarnición en la que se cocinan siempre es deliciosa y sabrosa también.Algo de este pollo al estilo hong king, agridulce, que lo diferencia de otras salsas chinas típicas. Siempre muy sabroso y en realidad tiene una buena textura y sabor.Ya sabes lo que hace un buen chino. . . . . cuando puede sacarlo de la nevera y recalentarlo en el microondas y sabe igual de bueno:)Gran servicio también

Los rollitos de primavera fueron los peores que he tenido en una comida para llevar, realmente insípida, sin toques de especias o condimentos, principalmente zanahorias picadas y pasteles de cartón. Realmente decepcionado, tener una comida para llevar es un lujo, y rara vez me lo puedo permitir. Cuando lo hago, no espero tirar la mayor parte porque no es un estándar decente.

Appalling customer service. Placed order online which advised an hour delivery time. Got a phone call twenty minutes later to say there would be an extra half an hour added to this as they were having to move food around due to a hygiene inspection. No apology, no offer to waive delivery fee, nothing! Not good enough and not my problem anyway - suggested they did these things in the day time when they were not busy. Cancelled my order. Rang back to request a refund and was told I could not have one - no manager on site to speak to. Ask the woman who answered the phone if she thought the way she was dealing with my frustration was good customer service and she put the phone down on me. I then drove down their place and asked for my money back which I got but wow - what a crap way to treat your customers - will never, ever order from them again... :-(

Friendly and reasonably well priced food. If you order on their website you can build up points to save up for free food. Now THAT'S a great idea!

We had a long wait althou we did enjoy it

I do like "Chinese food" or "Meals from China" there are so many ways of saying it. Last Friday for example I had a Duck Spring Roll with a Pot Noodle. But wait.....ask me what flavour Pot Noodle? It was a Bombay Bad boy. So I combined an Indian Traditional Meal with a Chinese side dish. Call me Middle Class but I do like a Cultural Fusion on my Plate. Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha. I don't like Rainbows though

We purchased a meal today 5/12/18 For our family £33 + i rang to complain about our 2 chicken curry dishes that the chicken was undercooked pink in texture tasted raw to which we threw away there was no apology just kept sayin chicken been cooked 3 times worrying in its self no offer of refund for these dishes or apology bad customer care will never use this takeway ever again disgusting service .

Ordered through the app to pay of arrival. When I got there They lost my order and I ended up paying for someone else's. They then had to put my order back through and charge me the rest of the cost. The girl on the till said she had applied my student discount she had not but wouldn't accept this. Crispy aromatic chicken was extremely dry. Will not be returning.

We regularly use this takeaway. The food is lovely but what really stands out are the staff. The two young girls who are front of house are always so friendly and happy. We have used this takeaway for pick up and delivery and always fine.

The best Chinese meal ever! I order from here about twice per month and have never been disappointed with their menu. I order online from them, but do have to wait up to an hour. Their curry is to die for. Their fried rice with chicken and pineapple is luscious.

In my opinion this is one of the nicer Chinese takeaways in the area.

Really disappointed, rice was forgotten with our order..contacted and was told it would be sent out straight away...40 mins later and still waiting. Children sat waiting for their tea, nice food but I won’t be using this takeaway again.

Beautiful, fresh food. We all said we would use this place again. The only let down was that each dish was in a small box, so not very generous portions. But the HK sweet and sour, beef curry and Pepper pork were delicious. Not greasy....great flavours. Still 4 stars from us.

Had a few orders from this takeaway always a quick delivery and their prawn crackers are the best ever! Good quality and not greasy, however, there is one chef that likes his use of chillies especially in the Singapore chow mein. Not a problem for us but if you don’t like too hot maybe worth asking before you order. Staff always really friendly and helpful. A great local Chinese highly recommend them!! 👍👍

Very let down by Wongs chinese in Priory Road.use to be superb but must be new owners and food was terrible.thought we would try wok'n'roll.last Sunday .food was delivered within half an hour and it was just beyond belief how good it was it tasted better than any other chinese takeaway we've tried all the family loved it and ate every last bit.we will definatley be ordering again from there.very Highly Recommended
