I came here for a late dinner after a concert at the cathedral, this was why we chose to dine here as it is open late. A great option for an after hours meal. The food was great and full of flavour, we ordered a bit too much as we wanted to be able to try lots. I wish the food had been a bit more spicy but I suppose we could have chosen different ones.
So nice to support a friendly local business. My mum and I only had cappuccinos but the scones and cakes looked divine. Such a friendly welcome, which makes such a difference nowadays. If we are in Street again, we shall definitely pop in!
Got a lovely warm welcome, lovely food and lovely atmosphere. Really brilliant pizza and nice evening. We were looked after by the waitress all evening, lovely and cosy with the fire on which was lovely as it was a bitter night

The owners are a wonderful family. The Chip shop style menu is brilliant and well priced. Also does great takeaways and delivery. Lovely entertainment and pub sports venue, as well as a great home to many teams, clubs and community groups. Really great visiting The venue. Definitely recommended
Refreshing change. It’s our local but was previously overpriced and not very welcoming. Steak was cooked to perfection. Simple menu but lovely food, proper country pub now. Thank you!
I’ve visited here previously and didn’t have a good experience.
I emailed to let them know about my experience and didn’t get a response.
But time has passed so decided to give it another go.
Sadly no better this time. The cooking temperature of the steak was served blue at best, ordered M/R. The other steak ordered was poorly cut, shaped like a wedge which meant it was very unevenly cooked.
The flavour of the steaks doesn’t match the prices.
Ordered sauces to go with the steaks, shouldn’t have bothered. Absolutely tasteless and watery.
No check back so not an opportunity to address the issues, but my mind was made up to just eat and leave.
I did mention to the server when paying but got a nonchalant reply.
Very sad as I love going out to eat.
Wow. Booked for the Sunday buffet and was concerned that as a veggie I would probably just get a veg curry and some rice. Wow was I wrong. The Sunday buffet is not a buffet it's a banquet. I expected warming trays of various food that everyone dipped thier spoons into and piled their plates high. Wrong. There's a special menu of about 55 different dishes to choose from all included in the price. The portions are small but plenty and you can keep ordering until you are full. Plus there were some fantastic choices for vegetarians including lots of paneer which is my absolute favorite. So impressed. Every dish we ordered was exqusite. Freshly cooked and delicious. You bring your own alcohol which makes it affordable for a night out if you are on a budget. Soft drinks, puddings and poppadoms not included.
That was the only negative. Poppadoms not included?? Very odd. Especially as we were encouraged to order them to start with. Er no. I am not going to fill up on poppadoms that are not included in the price, when I am doing the all inc buffet?? The service was slow but attentive and to be expected when everything is cooked freshly. Fabulous evening. Great value. Thank you!
Went in based on other people's Google reviews, and they appeared to have a good South Indian menu.
Given a table for one, far end (from door) next to the bar/ till.
Food: well prepared, tasted excellent.
But, only 4 pieces of chicken in the Kerala Chicken Curry.
Asked for water 3x, finally got 1 glass.
One of the staff needed an extra chair for another group.
With permission, my jacket was placed on the chair by a large empty table.
Confused as to why he could just not have picked up that chair, which was exactly the same distance from him as the one with my jacket 🤔.
Went to the washroom while waiting for my meal order to arrive.
My drink, cutlery, and empty plate were still in place.
Returned a few seconds later, my chair was given to another customer.
However, if it was taken, I feel it shows the character and personality of the customer base (and the staff) of this restaurant.
There was another empty chair closer to this new customer.
Therefore, my suspicion is that this is a family, relatives, and friends (of the staff and owners) only restaurant.
Atmosphere: it's only for family, extended relatives, and friends of the owners/ staff.
So, yes, anyone else who feels or felt that they weren't welcome, I would say they were/ are correct, and most likely you were/ are not on the friends list with this group.
Would not recommend it to anyone else at any time.
There are plenty of other restaurants from the Indian subcontinent serving South Indian food.
In short, walker friendly, cyclist friendly, dog friendly, local friendly, guest friendly... in short, friendly!
In length, a charming little cafe to stop by if you're doing one of the many walking trails in the area or visiting Nunney Castle. Indeed I'd say it's a must! The staff were absolutely lovely and just the perfect amount of conversational. The facilities were dog friendly but clean and whilst it's small (and only seems to have one toilet), it uses it's space well.
We had coffees and croque monsieur and I'll agree with the lady on the counter that it was the best croque monsieur I've ever tasted! What a find!
Truth be told, it's on the pricey side if you're not just sticking with drinks, but when you have such superb customer service, quality of food served and a lovely location, I think it's worth a pretty penny. Besides, there's a board in the place that shows where all the ingredients for their products have come from and that is just choice! Please visit!
Nice little local pub.
The natives tried to give us the "You ain`t from round here" look, but their hearts weren`t really in it.
Youngsters in the garden were giving it large but fell over themselves to make us feel welcome when we made eye contact.
An all-round positive experience, thank you.
