What an all-round lovely place. Food was delicious and clearly homemade, or just best quality ingredients; coffee great and plenty of it, plus loose leaf tea in a massive pot. The bonus is that all the staff are so helpful, polite and friendly. What a fantastic place and long may they serve!

What lovely tea rooms, seating both downstairs and upstairs, also a lovely outside area, looked very inviting had the weather been warmer. Friendly helpful staff, excellent coffee and both the cheese and fruit scones were delicious. If in the area again will definitely be paying another visit, most enjoyable.

Lovely tea rooms with friendly staff. Coffee was excellent as were the cheese and fruit scones, really enjoyed them. Just can't believe a bad recent review I've just read relates to Time For Tea in Street, Somerset. In fact it's 'cash only' and that review refers to the card machine ! We had a delightful visit and will definitely be returning when next in the area.

Absolutely shocking place… firstly the what I assume owner was extremely rude but then claims that all her staff are okay with it via rude responses to previous reviews, which is beyond me because how can anyone be okay with the way she speaks to her staff it is utterly disgusting that quite frankly ruined the meal before it even began. As someone who works in customer service there is no sence of comunacation between her and her staff just frustration. The portion size was shocking compared to the price a scoop of mash, 2 sausages and a bit of onion gravy for nearly £16??? The gamon smelt like fish which completely put me of my meal, the condiments just looked like grubby house home utensals and the floors where absolutely stinking. All in all just a grubby and run down place. When it came time to pay the attitude and frustration was beyond as we all wanted to pay separately. She then proceeded to snatch the card machine out of her employees hand and throw it under the counter. The owner obviously is so stubborn as you can see from previous reviews her response are outrageous, they lack any sense of self awareness and are just outright rude and disrespectful.

Stopped for a light lunch while shopping in Street. They serve tea the only proper way - made from leaves served in a china teapot with china cups - fantastic. We had soup - served piping hot with a nice roll, and cake - there was a good selection of cakes. We were very warmly welcomed and it was a very relaxing meal. Just to note they only take cash - there is a notice on the door. No worry as there is a cashpoint across the road if you are stuck.

I had the special of a BLT sandwich with crisps and coleslaw. My husband had a 3 egg omelette with ham and mushroom. Both were delicious. The bacon in the sandwich did not have any fat on at all and was well cooked, with lots of lettuce and tomato. The omelette was more like a souflee omelette, light and fluffy with a lot of ham and mushroom in it. The omelette came with salad and coleslaw and the sandwich came with crisps and coleslaw. We had it with a pot of tea for two which was loose leaf tea in an old fashioned china pot and old china cups and saucers. We got four good cups of tea from that Plenty of good tea. The bill was less than £20 which is the usual price of one dodgy burger and chips with a drink in some places. Yum yum! Only drawback is cash only, but there is an ATM across the street.

We visited here rather than spend some extortionate amount of money at a faceless chain in Clarks village. Nice little place, seems very friendly, we sat in the corner downstairs, and had tuna jacket potato, a very lovely tomato and pepper soup, with a ham and cheese sandwich, a pot of tea and a soft drink. Very nice portion sizes, food very fresh, and the soup was very very good. Seating available upstairs too. Would happily visit here again. Mostly sandwiches, jackets, paninis, light bites, that kind of thing. Also it is cash only so come prepared.

A pleasant clean bright cafe in Street. Somerset. My wife and I enjoyed the greeting, the staff were friendly but not to pushy and polite . The panini we had was " the special" and was served with a straight forward side salad...nothing pretentious or too fussy.. home made cole slaw and fresh salad leaves, tomato & cucumber. Menu was descriptive and straight forward and should be okay forost folks who like standard fare. Tea served was loose leaf and ' robust', China cups used with a strainer provided. Cakes were homemade and the one we had was lovely. Good value for food and drinks ..cash only but no problem for us .. a small garden area is available and whilst the first impressions are of a small area downstairs there is also a 2nd floor area available .. overall I would happily re-visit and recommend you try it

My Mum and I had travelled up to Street to meet with my aunt in this lovely little tea shop. We enjoyed a lovely hot drink and buttered fruit loaf which were truly scrumptious. We decided to visit 'time for tea' for coffee and cake, however, after ordering we couldn't have the cake we had chosen due to it being mouldy. This then caused an argument between the owner I would assume and one of her staff, causing myself and my friend to feel very uncomfortable. We were then offered a scone as there was no other cake, I took the offer up and it arrived very stale and not even with clotted cream, it must have been double cream or a very cheap alternative. I was in two minds about ordering something different after the first problem as it very much put me off. I came to pay and did mention that I wasn't very happy only for the staff to look down their nose at me. I was very dissapointed with my visit, the atmosphere between the staff and also the cleanliness.

They did suggest that we went upstairs but as I am registered legally blind, I prefer not to take stairs in a strange place for safety reasons. There was no reason for the door to be open, there was no evidence that much cooking was going on so we didn't really understand her response. Perhaps this is a local cafe for local people and visitors are not welcome.

A sweet cafe in the heart of the hamlet of Street. This was my 2nd visit I like they do redbush tea and home cooked foods. I hate microwaves.

Nicely situated in the high street of Street, this a cosy tearoom with seating up and down. We were seated up stairs and the tables were well placed and not cramped at all. The sandwiches and soup we had were well made tasty and we presented. This is a cash only venue, pay at till. The service was quick, the staff were polite and friendly. Will be going back if I find myself in the area.

Went there at 3.30 pm for tea and saw the close sign go up. What time do they have tea in Street? Could be nice but honestly closing so early I don't have a chance to find out.

Arrived at Time for Tea mid afternoon and just wanted something light to eat and a cup of tea. The cheese scones looked tempting and it was suggested to us that we might like to have a savoury tea consisting of tea, cheese scones, cheddar, apple and pear and chutney.......delicious and just want we needed. Very accomodating, friendly service and a bright, light tearoom with additional upstairs area overlooking the High Street.

Dropped in for a light bite after shopping at Clarks Village. Very welcoming with very cheery staff. Not much room indoors downstairs but ample space oudoor in the sunny back garden. Enjoyed a nice pot of tea for two (despite ordering coffee!!...but we let that pass) and very nice teacakes. for £3.50 each.

We happened upon this tea room after shopping in Street and in need of a drink. The staff were very friendly and the shop itself takes me back in time with beautiful tea services. The garden is well maintained and a great place for a chat with friends over tea and cake. Well worth a visit.

Especially came out of clarks village just to find this little place as I'd been told about it . We took a while to find if , but what a lovely little tea rooms . We thought we were the only ones in there to start when we ordered and wondered why out pots of tea and food were taking so long (half hour wait ) well it was because there were seats in the garden with people in them and seats upstairs too , all waiting for their food I expect that's why ours took so long .( we had two soups with sandwiches and I had omelette with salad ) but it was worth the wait it was all lovely , i lived the bone china tea sets too , that's why I choose places I like the vintage feel . I would return even despite the wait .

We poped in for lunch after visiting the East Somerset Railway, the pub is a stones throw from the ESR entrance. They had a great deal on for lunch and both the food and service we're delightful!

A very affordable bakery in downtown Glastonbury with 2 locations downtown. Treats for under £2. The sausage roll was average, not delicious.
