The best restaurants in Wimborne Minster East Dorset South West

This place is a lovely little hidden gem in Wimborne, there's nothing better then sitting outside in the sunshine by the river enjoying a lovely cooked breakfast and at a decent reasonable price as well :)

We visited The Rising Sun on Saturday for lunch and found the place to be quite traditional, with lots of tables, lighting was good and most of all the service the lady behind the bar provided was EXCELLENT! We ordered some drinks and sat down to have a look at the menu. Ordering was at the bar, but very easy. We shared the Calamari starter and then ordered the Mediterranean tart which came with salad and chunky chips and the Cajun Chicken Burger. All the food was very good and delivered in a timely manner. The Outland IPA was a good tasting beer. The pub is very dog friendly, so we sat out dog under the table, where he managed to spill his bowl of water and this was no hassle for the waitress to clear up for us. Excellent pub/restaurant and if we are in the area I would go back and can highly recommend to others

We went to the Short and Sweet company for lunch on a Monday. It was quiet when we arrived but got busier but they do take away too! We had an excellent home made black bean and bacon soup with sourbread and a pot of tea. The bill was approximately £15. We would happily return if we are in the area.

Our first visit here, since it became ‘Little Pickle’. It’s in a lovely location, but we haven’t been, because of the pandemic & then it was closed for a while? My daughter & I met there for a late breakfast & started with a double espresso (me) & tea (daughter). The coffee had a lovely crema & was really hot, which I like. Then I had a breakfast brioche with grilled halloumi & chili jam (delicious!) & daughter had similar, with spinach. The menu is large & varied, so we plan to go back & try other options! The staff were really friendly, helpful & professional. There is a pay car park, quite near & it’s near enough to the town centre, for a stroll there, after a visit to the Gallery.

The Tea Room & Garden at the Museum of East Dorset (MED) in Wimborne Minster is a beautiful spot for light refreshments - both hot and cold. The Tea Room is connected to the beautiful garden of the museum and, thus, victors can, in the warm weather, be seated in the outside patio area to enjoy their drinks and snacks whilst experiencing the aesthetically glorious garden. The MED Tea Room also has a light inside dining area which has lovely views across the garden due to the big windows. The staff is comprised of volunteers who are friendly and welcoming; refreshments are ordered at the café and served to your table. The Tea Room and toilets are very clean and the menu includes a very reasonable charge for food and drink. The Tea Room and garden are accessible for all visitors and there is a disabled bathroom. The walled garden is a location for everyone (of all abilities and ages) to enjoy, play, relax and explore.

5 of us came here for a birthday lunch, a beautiful place, Beau was so attentive to us. All staff so friendly and helpful. So professional. You could tell they were aware of the customers and when they needed anything. Decor lovely, food amazing. Service amazing. Would definitely recommend.

A cheeky spontaneous trip to the pub, had absalotly banging BBQ chicken panini and a cheeky pint. All topped with friendly and charismatic service from Joshua, what a legend! Must come again.

I go in most days and always have a good experience in there. Whether it’s the badhand coffee, the delicious homemade cakes or the friendly and welcoming staff I always leave with a smile on my face!

Great food, best Indian food we've had for some time. My Daughter is vegan often put off by Indian food, however the staff went above and beyond to adjust the ingredients and even did this all off their own backs... Customer Service you rarely find in todays world!

Says they shut at 4, came here for ice cream and some drinks at 3:40 and told they were closed 🤷🏼‍♀️

The food is not bad, in fact i would recommend the pork belly starter. However, it is not consistent with the mains, I ordered risotto and it was undercooked, for the price I expected more. Service was good tho

My compliments to the chef. Food was excellent, home cooked and delicious..not expensive. We will return again soon. This is a little gem of a place in the centre right next to the Minster

We visited with some friends for the first time today. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food delicious. We’ll be back.
