Walked through the door with my service dog and a man immediately told me I couldn’t go here I couldn’t go there etc etc, nice welcome!, only wanted the bar and dogs allowed I did not remind him that registered service dogs can legally go anywhere. Went to bar ordered a drink and was told by the lady serving dogs couldn’t go blah blah blah! then she added the whole hotel could be shut down due to a dog at this point I had to inform here that she was talking rubbish if you advertise as dog friendly then be dog friendly do not attack customers as soon as they arrive and maybe a water bowl!. I have used this place on and off for over 50 years not-in recent years as I now live abroad but what a shame it has gone downhill so much no wonder only 5 people in the bar.

Great location, really nice staff and good size rooms, it was a little warm when we were there and there was no air conditioning in our room, but it wasn't too bad. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks.

We had a work dinner at Kings Head which nearly 40 people attended. The food and service were fantastic!! The staff were really good and ensured we had an enjoyable time. The venue was great for big group like ours and Laura was brilliant through out the booking process. We all had a good time, definitely will be visiting again soon.

Have just spent 2 nights here as did several family members, who all came to Wimborne to attend and celebrate a wedding. The hotel was superb and I loved my room. All food eaten here was lovely and staff incredibly helpful. I was designated driver of minibus we'd hired to ferry people from hotel to venue (The Orangery) and back at the end of day. Would suggest looking on a map as it is easy to take a wrong turn as Wimborne has a one-way system and you end up on a big loop. Bedroom was a wow as lovely the layout and decor. The bathroom spotless and plenty of towels etc. The little things you might need like an iron or a fan are there. Bed was comfy and enough pillows. Paid £280 for 2 nights (Fri/Sat) inc: full English breakfast. Has a little car park for about 10 cars and spaces can be hard to get when it's busy. Would I stay here again = yes!

We have just returned home from an evening meal and couldn’t wait to share the experience we received. The service was fantastic. Jess and Karen could not have been any more attentive. Jess took our drinks order and confidently answered our questions. Jess was friendly, professional, and worked hard to ensure that all the other customers within our area received the same attention. Karen was equally amazing; their teamwork was remarkable. The service more than made up for the meal. Dessert, The Bakewell Tart was lovely, but my Caesar salad was average, not enough cheese, more of a vinaigrette than Caesar sauce and the smallest chicken breast. The other meals were good though.

First there were 6 of us and the service from Jess and Zoe front of house was excellent. Michael on the bar was very polite and very friendly, we shall be visiting again. The food cooked by Dillon and Adam the chefs was absolutely superb and the manager Trefor has got a brilliant group of staff and done a brilliant job in turning the kings head around. Rest assured we will be back.

Stayed for 2 nights on business. Had a spacious room with a nice bed & view over car park (nice to keep an eye on the car). Nice amenities. Didn't need to call hotel staff for anything, checking in was fast & efficient. Emergency numbers prominently displayed if needed (at reception & in rooms). Only had evening meals but orders were taken accurately, and food was lovely. 2nd night was busier so slightly longer wait but such is life. Overall a great stay, easily getting in my recommendations for South Dorest/Bournemouth/Poole trips.

A Hotel located within walking distance of shops, restaurants and cafes, with clean rooms and comfortable beds. Very ideal for car travellers as it has onsite parking which is always several levels above most hotels who tell you to park in multi-storeys. Laura, who is extremely helpful, is very accommodating. Honestly, it's everything that you want and more.

Absolutely awful service. Booked a table for 9.am. typing this review at 10.05am and still no breakfast! No drinks were offered until 9.35am, ordered moccha got hot chocolate. Most of which was on the table as it was badly carried to the table. 9.50 am finally asked for our orders, I said how as no menu provided. Waitress said it was because we weren't sat at a "breakfast table"!! The table we were told to sit at ? 9.55am, cutlery bought to us but no food, not even toast. 10.10am 1 glass of apple juice placed on table but no pineapple juice or 2 x lattes we ordered 20 mins ago!! Tables that were seated after us were asked their orders first. Such a shame as our first stay was amazing. Last nights dinner service & quality of food was amazing. Breakfast ends/ended 10 am. Checkout is 11.am !! Extremely disappointing experience. STILL NO FOOD at 10 15am and I'm on the verge of just leaving without now.

When we moved to the area in early 2020, one of our neighbours told us that Bentleys was his favourite places for a Sunday carvery. Then came Covid and lockdowns, so that we have only now been able to try it out, since its reopening last month. We were very much looking forward to it and, whilst it was OK, it was a little disappointing. Firstly the complimentary hors d’oeuvres. One small rectangular plate was presented to us, but whilst the quantity of what was on there was fine for two, the actual components on it were one chicken skewer, one spring roll and two small, but different, tarts, meaning that, other than the olives and feta, everything had to be cut in half to enable us each to sample everything! The carvery itself was neither the best that I have ever had, but nor was it the worst. I was impressed that the beef was cooked as beef should be, and not cremated, and commented as much to the chef. As this was unusual for a carvery both my wife and I went for it plus some turkey. I have to say that the turkey was very nice, but the beef was rather chewy. Vegetables were OK; I thought that the roast potatoes could have been a bit crispier and the Yorkshire was pretty rock solid. For dessert, my wife chose the lemon meringue which, I think was a good choice, because I went for rhubarb crumble and custard and found the crumble topping to be almost as solid as a pie crust. I'm afraid that it is unlikely that we will be rushing back.
