Currently in pop-up restaurant mode, so if you're expecting a mainstream restaurant experience then you might be disappointed. However, if you like delicious, interesting, high quality Indonesian food at a bargain price then you should visit now before the prices inevitably go up.

The chef of this pop-up restaurant has been running occasional one-off delicious Indonesian food events for years in Wimborne, and currently offers lunch in her centrally-located own home a few weekends a year. Pre-booking essential. This was a lovely, intimate and special dining experience. Four of us arrived at the chef's home for our pre-booked lunch and were greeted by the owner's son who was acting as waitstaff. We were shown into the house's front-room with tables for no-more than 30 people. As there were four of us we easily ordered a bit of everything from the small menu of classic Indonesian main and side dishes plus another classic Special of the Day. All absolutely delicious and clearly cooked from scratch! Worth noting:Currently cash only and unlicenced - entirely expected given the home-based nature of A Taste of Rasa Sayang. We were invited to pop to the very local supermarket to buy our own alcoholic drinks if required. Otherwise it's water.- Vegetarians and Vegans - mention this when booking. We were asked at booking if we had special dietary requirements. Didn't affect us, but as this is a small venture mention it beforehand. We were surprised at how little the bill came to - a benefit of not being able to order alcoholic drinks! This is currently run just by the chef with help from her family, so doesn't operate like a permanent restaurant business.Talking to the owner's son, it seems that in time there may be a more permanent / frequent tiny restaurant here.If you're local, it's worth finding their Facebook Page and following for updates. It's well worth the effort of watching for when this restaurant is open and booking in advance. Real Indonesian food isn't very common in this part of the world, and this is cooked with care!

The establishment is being set up so initially starting as a pop up restaurant until building works completed. The chef is time served most excellent cook from the regionThe menu is professional with choices for all. The beef curry melted in my mouth, the service excellent. Satay was the best with quality ingredients served fast and warm. Our 7 year old lad loved it too. Best kept secret in Wimborne! Wish the family well and we will be back particularly when the build is complete. Worth checking their social media or calling for a booking as its pop up status at moment. Alcohol licence will come in time, check with owners if you can bring your own! PS the chef is also an excellent botanical artist too. Shhh dont tell anyone! We were visiting the area on holiday.

Have had good meals from here in the past. Unfortunately tonight it wasn't very nice. Prawns were inedible, very hard and chewy. Had to throw them away. Disappointing

Popped in mid morning for a coffee, ended up with a delicious almond croissant to go with a latte! Really nice place to drop into, lots of delicious food and snacks to tempt you. Friendly staff, well decorated, clean and a nice ambience. Will drop in again.
