Attentive service, authentic Italian Menu Real Gem in Wimborne, a must go to authentic Italian restaurant. I recommend the mushroom starter and meal ball main course. There is also a good wine selection. We will be back soon

Great value lunch time menu but food not great. We came here to meet some friends we had not seen for some time, we arrived at 1pm to then be pushed to leave by 2pm as they were closed. The food was disappointing, the pizza’s were like microwave pizza’s, gave me indigestion. The service was good, but shame we had to leave and go elsewhere to buy a coffee. I don’t think I will be returning.

Lovely restaurant. Tuesday evening meal and pleased to see how busy the place was. Nice atmosphere. Excellent service by the two chaps on duty. Food delicious. We have eaten here on and off over the past 30 years and have never been disappointed. Tasty pizzas....clean plates all round.

Found this little place whilst we were on holiday in Wimborne and liked it so much we visited a second time. Lovely atmosphere and really good food, reasonably priced and served by friendly and attentive staff. Thank you, well done and long may you continue!

Rather disappointed in the pizzas here. The pizza bases seemed to me like frozen to microwave, factory-made quality. Toppings were totally uninspiring: supermarket ham squares etc. very boring. Very unItalian. Small portions too. A mere refuelling exercise.

Excellent evening with good food and fantastic customer service. Josh was a great host and overall this was a lovely experience. The pizzas were nice but the base was a little thick for my liking. I prefer wood fired pizzas… but having said that it was tasty and the desserts were also tasty.

Great evening out. The team at Piccolo Mondo went out of their way to squeeze us in last minute and we were most grateful. Friendly staff made us welcome with a great selection of pasta and pizza options. The chicken specials were outstanding also. All 7 of us, from 8 years old to 70’s were catered for and all of us were very satisfied with our choices. Would recommend this great family restaurant to anyone.

I called in again today for a really nice lunch with lots of flavour at a great price. I found the staff so friendly and very helpful.

We went to Piccolo Mondo on a Saturday evening. The restaurant was relatively busy so glad we booked. The service was friendly but far too quick in terms of bringing our food - literally 2 minutes after ordering our starter it was there! The same happened with the pizza - as soon as our plates for the starter disappeared the pizzas arrived! The food was reasonable but nothing out of the ordinary. The bill for the mushroom starter (which we shared) and 2 pizzas with salad and a bottle of wine was approximately £60. I am not sure we would return on the basis of the fast service but if you are looking for a quick meal it may be a good option!

We were looking for a nice place to eat and cwrc taxis recommended Piccolo mondo to us and we had a lovey dinner out with a nice warm atmosphere, the food was delicious would highly recommend.

The third time we've eaten here and the service and food is always great. Lovely lunch and such good value. We'll be back again soon.

Popped in for lunch. Pizza was as light as a cloud and delicious. Fantastic traditional tiramisu and latte with non dairy milk. Allergies catered for and service flawless! Highly recommended.

I ordered a pizza with motserella mushrooms and artichokes, it tasted of garlic and nothing else. It was also thick based. The menu did not say garlic or thick based, infact, the pizzas were described on the menu as thin based. I couldn't eat most of my pizza as it was incredibly garlicky, even though i was very hungry. I would have put up with the thick base. The waiter told me that there was small print somewhere on the menu that told me the pizza had garlic on it, he showed me something at the bottom of a page. I order what I see, I should not need to read a whole menu just incase they are using their garlic bread as pizza bases, which is obviously what they are doing. He also said I could have had thin based but it said they were all thin based on the menu so why would I ask? Very disappointed 😞 and hungry, and annoyed. Wine was good. Service was good.

A lovely authentic Italian restaurant serving mostly pizza and pasta plus a few specials….. It was very busy when we went midweek, which is always a good sign. The pizza was lovely. I had a thin base one, which was perfect and unusually for me, I even ate the crusts! I will be returning.

First time visiting Piccolo Mondo and we’re already planning our next visit. Lovely authentic Italian restaurant. We both had pizzas and said they were one of the best we’ve had. Staff very friendly and welcoming, can’t wait until our next visit.

Myself and my wife had friends visiting and we chose to eat here for the first time last Saturday evening. I’m so glad we did. The restaurant is lovely, the food delicious, reasonably priced with terrific portions and lovely service. Can’t wait to go again. Thank you 👍

Went here for my wife’s birthday with our daughter, it was very busy but luckily we had booked a table in advance. It took a while for the waiter to take our food order although we didn’t have to wait long for the food to arrive once ordered. I have been to many Italian restaurants and would say this one was perhaps a little average, food was ok but nothing extraordinary and choice was limited. I would say it’s worth trying for yourself as everyone has different tastes.

We had a disappointing meal here. I think it should be renamed Picolo menu, the menu is not very extensive, it can be viewed online. The specials were not available so we had a choice of pasta or pizza. Perhaps pasta would have been a better choice for me. My pizza was soggy and seemed to be a from freezer to microwave exercise. Pizza base style garlic bread was not bad, although also a little soggy. Olives which we ordered to have while we waited for starters were the only thing which did impress, and to be fair were tasty. I will not be in a hurry to return.

Eating alone is a mixed experience and I was relieved to feel really welcomed by all the staff. They were very attentive, just the right level of service, and the food was very tasty and homemade.

Happened upon this gem having been disappointed by another local restaurant, and loved it. The menu was typical traditional Italian, the staff were helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was lively. Definitely worth a visit.

Amazing atmosphere and feel to the place service was 10 out of 10 staff were friendly and helpful food came out really quick and easy amazing we had pasta. On the way out we were also offered a sweet price was very reasonable also

Visiting Wimborne for the weekend. Looked online and booked this in advance. Person on phone was friendly. Arrived early evening. Great welcome. The restaurant is light and airy. Food was excellent. Prices very reasonable. I'd highly recommend it.

Always polite and friendly service but it’s the gluten free options that keep me coming back. They have a choice of gf pasta and their own recipe pizza bases that are second to none that I’ve tried. I can recommend the Highlander if you like...

Disappointed on our first visit in many years. Starters were fine but the main pastas were stodgy and inedible, far from fresh homemade Italian food. We went home hungry.

We have used Piccolo Mondo (and been more than happy to do so) for over 15 years. Sadly, over the past twelve months, the experiences have been far from good - food bland, prices expensive for what’s on offer, wine extortionate for mediocre choice). Apologies...

We ate at Piccolo Mondo again for the first time in 27 years and it is as good as we remembered it - and still run by the same chap! Excellent reasonably priced food and friendly service.

This was one of the places we ate at in the evening during our stay in Wimborne (v. also my review of Wimborne Lodge B&B) and it was a delightful experience. This is no 'pizza parlour' and has a welcoming ambience. The menu is varied and authentic Italian style and the wines are equally as good. The service was very efficient and friendly and the food superb.I can recommend this restaurant without reservation.

Well where do I start here are some easy to read bullet points of our visit in MAY 2021.The owner is a I LOVE me type of person, he was so loud I couldn’t even hear my family talk.Considering we are still under some Covid restrictions the owner was removing his face visor, sitting at table with people so where dining. Pizza was bland, and almost identical to my garlic bread but with some Tasteless cheese and tinned tomato on top. The staff presentation to be totally honest look like they have just come out the pizza oven, oh sorry they don’t have an oven it must be the microwave.Don’t waste your evening on eating here as you have so many local places worth eating at that are far far far better, even a Tesco meal deal would give you more satisfaction. And not to mention the aftermath you will need to be fully stocked on loo ROLLSSSS for the next forthcoming.

For our first evening out after Lockdown 2 we chose Piccolo Mondo, an old favourite. They have worked incredibly hard at Covid Compliance and we felt perfectly safe there, but the atmosphere was still cosy and the staff very friendly, as always. We shared the Mediterranean Prawns starter, then had a delicious pizza and a pasta dish. Our only regret was that the helpings were so generous that we couldn’t finish them!Thank you for a wonderful evening, see you again soon!

Keep the old Italian away from the kids some dont like it. My garnddaughter will no longer go. Perhaps its time to addmit the younger fsmily members should be given the rains. The new room ios beutifuuly decorated. The heater in the gents toilet is rubbish, But very clean 5*

I visited for lunch on a friend’s recommendation. It’s a charming little traditional Italian restaurant with very friendly staff. We had the lunch deal of Half a Pizza or Pasta dish with salad or garlic bread for £5.70. The pizza was lovely, just the right size for lunch and very good value. I was very comfortable with the COVID 19 precautions in place

What a great find, this restaurant is serving excellent homemade delicious food. On our first visit we had a carne calzone and the special beef spezzatino, which was recommended by the chef/owner. He made the place very welcoming, going to each table and having a chat. Both were delicious. We then had tiramisu and a special pear and ricotta tart - wow both desserts were amazing. I can highly recommend their limoncello - very smooth, great taste. We decided to return a couple of days later and had the meatballs with spaghetti and the primo sole pizza. The Italian sausage they use has a wonderful flavour. We had the apple and caramel tart and the special limoncello tart. Both of these were delicious. We could not fault this place, the staff made us feel very welcome and we chatted with them. The atmosphere is great. I just wish we lived closer!

We visited without a booking and on arrival the restaurant was very quiet. We are not local and only found it via TripAdviser, tucked away off the Main Street. We were welcomed in by the team and seated in a well arranged dining area. One of the chefs came out of the kitchen to give us information about the specials. We opted for the tuna,anchovies, capers and mushrooms in a creamy chilli tomato sauce. We had a choice of pasta style and both went for tagliatelle. It was absolutely awesome, so fresh and the chef had checked on our chilli level and got it spot on. Highly recommend this authentic Italian.

We have been eating at Piccolo Mondo for many years but due to growing families and friends moving away we have not visited for some time. Having had the most wonderful Saturday evening enjoying the company of Maurice and his team we have to ask why we have left it so long. The atmosphere, service, food and drink was just fantastic. We all shared a number of starters and then a range of pizzas and pastas. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The restaurant felt very covid safe with good table distances, the team wore face shields and there was plenty of hand sanitizer available. It felt nearly normal. A night out isn't always just about the food, its also the company, ambiance and the feeling that you are welcome. Piccolos delivered and we wont leave it so long to be back.

My wife and I have been long time customers of Piccolo Mondo, and always enjoy the excellent food, wine and ambience that we always experience there. Not to mention the entertainment (free) provided by the proprietor, Maurice....which is worth a visit on its own!However, I have put pen to paper on this occasion to congratulate the restaurant on their COVID 19 precautions, which - from witnessing this at first hand - are without fault. You can be confident that your health will be in good hands at Piccolo Mondo. Well done to Maurice and his team, keep up the good work.

Always love coming here, great atmosphere and owner. Staff always friendly, you always can expect good service. As a pizza fan these are some of the best I've tasted, with my favourite being the pepperoni here. Im a big fan of the garlic oil they put on top and love the garlic bread too. Much better than any chain pizza restaurant I've tried.

I’ve visited this restaurant for many years but after the last disappointing trip, me, my friends and family will no longer be returning. The customer service was terrible and found the staff to be rude. we didn’t receive a warm friendly welcome as you would expect in a restaurant. We were placed on the worst table in the restaurant, right next to the entrance which was not enough room for the 2 metre distance rule, there were plenty of tables free which would of been a better choice. The quality of the food was just disappointing, nothing seemed to be freshly cooked and the pizzas seemed to be like the frozen ones you would find in the supermarkets. It completely ruined my mums birthday and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are far better Italian restaurants around the wimborne area and i would recommend going there instead.

We had the best meal of our week long holiday here earlier this week. All staff were very welcoming and so friendly, customer service and attention to detail were first class. It felt clean and safe and measures to make it 'covid safe' had been well thought through. The food was great - we had pizzas and some delicious desserts. I would definitely recommend this restautant!

We went for lunch to celebrate Dad’s 80th birthday. The Piccolo appears to be coping well post lockdown and has made some adjustments to help make the experience as COVID safe as it can be. As avid supporters of this restaurant for 38 years the place feels comfortable and welcoming. As ever, the food was brilliant. Pizzas all round.

Three of us went in today for the first time since lockdown. The welcome was warm, the food was just so delicious, but most of all we felt like members of the family as if the world outside was a cold environment in comparison. We just LOVE this restaurant!!

My wife an I visited Piccolo Mondo on a Saturday evening. Even though we had not made a reservation we were greeted warmly and accommodated without problem. The humorous service and food were excellent and we have already decided to return again in the near future. Recommended.

A favourite place for our family to visit. Family owned and run, you're always greated warmly. Menu consists of freshly cooked produce which is always a good standard. The pizza bases are cooked from scratch and are delicious. Lunchtime specials or an evening meal, we always enjoy our visits here

Booked a last minute table for 10 for a post birthday celebration! Maurice and his staff didn’t disappoint- great service, great pizzas, wonderful banter as ever and we will return again as we have as a family for the past 40 years for birthday celebrations!! Only downside is that Maurice now not allowed to take insta photos of the group!! Happy punters - good job Maurice and team - thank you for a lovely time we will of course be back xx

We have eaten here since it opened going back to the eighties service and food always very good. Not so any more ! declining quality and service . The last straw was at 1.45pm we asked if they were still serving the reply "yes if you can order in 5 minutes" ( this is lunch time empty restaurant ) by the tall manager, we sat down perplexed and chose quickly he came up and we ordered the reply abruptly "only 1 of you can have pizza " at that point we felt we didnt want to hand over our hard earned cash and felt humiliated. we left

A pre election meal which cheered us up. A lively, friendly welcome, excellent service and one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten. Good wine, delicious first courses and tasty pasta dishes. Highly recommended.

A nice personal service complements some decent wholesome food. Recommended for solid 'Italian' fare. You shouldnt leave disappointed.

Very nice location and good decoration. Staff were very good, friendly and happy to help. The food let the whole evening down. I would expect the pizzas to be stoned baked with fresh dough however they were pizzas you would cook in a fan oven and are the type you would get at a kebab house.

The pizzas are delicious but what makes this place is the staff who always go the extra mile and make every customer feel special. This is always our ‘go to’ restaurant for every kind of occasion. I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager and it’s still my favourite place to eat. You must try the white chocolate profiteroles.

Came here as we couldn’t get into Topogigio. Would’ve been better off going straight to the kebab house (which is where we ended up anyway).Upon arrival the first thing we saw was a sign saying ‘be nice or leave’ - not the warmest of welcomes but the place looked nice enough. However we were pressured by the ‘waitress’ into sitting in the over flow dining area, the best way to describe it being like an old granny’s conservatory. No atmosphere, no style, cheap mismatched 1990’s furniture and generally very odd. We were then descended on by the owner - Gino de Campo he was not. Loud, bossy and very scruffy (in fact none of the staff looked presentable). My ‘pasta san Danielo’ was almost certainly a microwaved ready meal. The sauce contained 1 x shred of chicken chunk, 1 x half a centimetre strip of bacon, 1 x mushroom, 1 x shred of carrot and 1 x pea. Excellent for all you dieters out there! The swordfish was like a John West patty with bland veg and new potatoes. We didn’t go for dessert as to be quite honest we couldn’t cope with any more of the domineering service and neither of us are a fan of Sara Lee. It was painful paying the bill. Avoid!

Another lovely lunch here . We all had different dishes. J had soup which came with cheesy garlic bread. My adult son had a half margarita pizza with salad and my husband a different pizza with anchovies. All were excellent along with the service.

We were made to feel very welcome, the people there were warm, friendly and fun and took an interest in our plans for the evening. The food was first class - prompt, hot and delicious, and very reasonably priced too. We can personally recommend the home-made Limoncello.

This is our first visit to Picollo and it was extremely satisfactory. Very hospitable staff that tend to your needs very quickly with a very rich menu, generous portions and very reasonably priced. This will definitely be the first of many visits.

We’ve been coming here for over 30 years and it never fails to please. The lunchtime special of half a “piccolo mondo” pizza with salad is very good value and relatively slimming. (I estimate around 340 calories!). Service is friendly and efficient. Plus free sweets to take away as you leave! What more do you need?

Really enjoyed the Highland topping on GF base. The GF version of Piccolo Mondo's pizza is fluffy and thick and holds together well for GF baking. It's not perfect but really very good.

The lunchtime meal offer is a bargain...we had pizzas and they were really tasty. Staff made us feel very welcome with the children and the place had a really nice vibe to it. Will be going back!

We ate here last week, food was excellent and hot. Had the same meal yesterday and presentation wasn't as good and it was only warm. Very disappointing. That is the trouble with many restaurants, there is no consistency. Also one of the staff was doing too much shouting, which was annoying.

Looking for somewhere to eat with the two young'ns and stumbled across this amazing little place. We were greeted with a super warm welcome and taken to a table overlooking the mini courtyard (beautiful) food was A1! Fresh and flavoursome. Lovely coffee. Thankyou piccolo for a fantastic lunch.

My husband and I ate here tonight and had such a lovely evening. The owner and staff are all so friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. We each ordered the mussels in tomato sauce starter and the meatballs as a main, and it was all very delicious- the portions are very generous too! A lovely characterful place, highly recommended.

Second time we have eaten here. Very comprehensive menu which they will adapt to suit your needs e.g. starter as a main, half a main pizza etc.. Very nicely cooked and presented together with the charming banter from our host. Very good value and also you get the bonus of a takeaway sweet ! ( go for the lollipop ).

My friend and I visited on a lunchtime. I did book as I know it gets busy as it's very popular. We both ordered the lunch special of lasagne and Salad. House red wine was very good value at £9.75 for 1/2 litre. We finished with salted caramel ice cream. The ambience and courtesy of staff was superb. Will definitely be back. Did I say food was great . It was.

This friendly Italian has a nice atmosphere and good home made food. The lunchtime special is really good value - a half pizza or small pasta with salad or garlic bread. £5.49. A bargain and just enough! Highly recommended. You can reserve a table. But note that it’s up a flight of steps and there’s no lift.

Went for lunch with my husband and our 3 year old boy to celebrate some good news. The waiter, Maurizio, was a real hit with our little boy. We could not have been made to feel more welcome and the food was fantastic.

We found this tucked away in a court yard and so we went into see what it’s was like. They had a lunchtime special on for half a pizza or small pasta with either salad or garlic bread for £5.50.

We visited here for a family birthday meal. What a lovely cosy atmosphere. We were welcomed and seated. The staff were friendly cheerful and very knowledgeable of the menu. Answered any questions we had. Lots to choose from the menu from starters to desserts. The drinks and food came out in good time. The food was delicious and so tasty. We all had different food off the menu and everything was fantastic. Even the chef came out with the birthday cake and got the whole resteraunt to sing Happy Birthday what a lovely gesture. 100%++ customer service would highly reccomnend this resteraunt.

I have been meaning to get this off my chest for awhile, about 2 years to be precise! I have read many reviews about this restaurant being really good, so picked this restaurant for my birthday meal. the service was poor but not as bad as the food and I couldn't help but notice the young pot-washer being targeted for doing nothing wrong, she was almost seen as the scapegoat although she worked her heart out! #justice_for_pot-washers

We stumbled across this restaurant one lunchtime, hidden in a little courtyard in the centre of Wimborne. As it was offering half-price lunches we went in and were more than pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious. We had the seafood pizza and seafood pasta which were crammed full of fish and as good as any Italian food we have had anywhere. The staff were friendly and the service perfect. We will definitely be back.

We had lovely pasta, one sea food in a creamy sauce and one meatballs with tomato sauce. Both were delicious, lunch portions, hearty helpings with salad. Followed by two cappuccinos and amaretti biscuits. Plenty of time afterwards for some shopping before the cinema......

The waiting staff were very attentive and quick to react to requests. Food was very good quality and reasonably priced. Would definitely go back.
