Prezzo - Wimborne in East Dorset

Wonderful Georgian building. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was tasty. Great choice for Gluten free and vegan. Overall very happy!

We hadn't been to Prezzo for about six years and thought we would give it a try again. Last time was not the best meal Similar to the previous, my wife chose the Penne pasta arrabiata and I chose the Tre Gusto Pizza. I must admit the meal was a little better than the last time, but still what we would call average. Service was good throughout. I know of a few well known Pizza chains who serve a better pizza.

To say I’m shocked is an understatement! I visited this restaurant with a group from work. There were issues regarding length of wait, which was sorted, however, I ordered the beef in chianti. At a few pence under £20.00 I thought I was in for an amazing meal. Well, what was presented (when it finally came!) was nothing short of a sick joke! I have attached a photo, (I have included my hand as perspective), to prove the point! I counted seven pieces of beef, a splodge of approx a tablespoon of grey mash and a couple of wilted broccoli stems across the top of the dish! It DID NOT look very appetising, but as we’d waited so long, I started to eat it. Although the beef was tender, the mash was just mush and lacked any flavour. How Prezzo can feel this is good value for money is beyond me. I spoke with the manager to let him know my feelings, his response was that they get lots of complaints about the dish! I have completed an online form for Prezzo, interestingly, I have heard nothing back! I for one, will never be going back to any Prezzo, It seems profits come before quality!

Strange location, reception is down a hallway past a staircase which makes it feel like an uninhabited hotel. We were shown into a room at the front of the building which was very bland and uninspiring. We ordered beef cooked in chianti, which sounded lovely but when it arrived the portions were so small they could have been served on a tea plate! We were given a small spoonful of mashed potato, a spoonful of stew and two stems of broccoli, which had not even been warmed up - they were ice cold! We were given another two sprigs of warm broccoli each but at a cost of almost £20 per head we found it very poor value for money. All in all, a very disappointing visit.

We visited for lunch today and the whole experience was very good. All the staff were friendly, polite and helpful and the food was excellent. Drinks were nicely chilled, even the glasses provided with a jug of water were very cold! A very pleasant lunch and we will definitely return.

We where welcomed by a young lady I believe was the manageress, Katie who sat us down & was very polite. The service was good & we enjoyed the evening. We had the mozzarella starters followed by spaghetti bolognaise & chicken Madeira.

We have dined in this restaurant every Wednesday evening for 6-9 months. We always arrive at 430-5pm and have a quick dinner before the children’s football session nearby. We have never needed to book as the restaurant is empty at that time. This evening we were turned away by Katie and Will. They claimed to be managers and explained that there were no tables available. Both sides of the restaurant were empty. I explained we would be very quick and could guarantee the table back by 545pm. We were told it was not possible as they had reservations at 6pm and 630pm. Rather than attempting to assist a regular customer with 2 children and an 81 year old handicapped grandparent Will suggested I could make a complaint and Katie smirked when I became annoyed that this would not resolve the immediate problem. I proceeded to take photos of the restaurant to demonstrate how quiet it was and dined elsewhere. On my return to the car I took a further photo demonstrating it was still empty at 550pm. Any competent employee would have recognised the situation and assisted given the circumstances. The F&B industry is struggling and with people like Katie and Will it is no surprise. It is simply perverse that paying customers are turned away and alienated.

Very mediocre food, scant toppings on the pizzas. The pepperoni pizza was described as a generous topping of pepperoni, it was sadly lacking in topping. The service was good but overall very poor value.

Was amazing. They have the best chef in town. The food was nice and hot. Staff were very friendly and attentive, we were very well looked after throughout our visit.

We were planning on going there for dinner tonight based on the set menu we saw on the website. When we arrived the staff were lovely but they told us because they are a small branch the advertised set menu wasn’t available. The full menu was very expensive for what it was, particularly on a quiet night mid week. There are far better value options available in Wimborne.

Good Atmosphere, Friendly Service, Good Food, Reasonably priced. Most enjoyable evening and would definitely recommend.

visited with a friend and place was very quiet as late lunch. Service was so slow did not order a starter and 45 mins for main course to arrive, when it did my pasta was only slightly warm in places and hot in others it was not heated through properly almost as if it had been in a broken microwave. I mentioned it and waitress was disinterested. It was vile. The entrance is filthy stairs covered in weeks of dirt and fluff, toilets dirty or out of order. This used to be a nice place to visit but shall not be returning.

As expected, great food and great service! I would definitely recommend to family and friends so they can have the same amazing experience.

We needed a quick after school meal to celebrate my sons birthday, we eat out very often in the town so we were aware there were better places to go but we needed parking and food served all day so chose Prezzo. The chap that greeted us was friendly and accommodating, the waitress that served our table got pretty much every order wrong but she was so dismissive and disinterested in our party that we didn’t raise the errors. When I asked if it was coke or Pepsi she said Pepsi I asked if they had any bottled coke, she snapped that she’d already told me it was Pepsi. One order I did question was the Parmesan and truffle oil fries, the fries were delivered and I could see that they were plain without the Parmesan and oil, I tried to locate the waitress but ended up waiting 15 minutes before she walked past, I asked her to change the fries for the correct order...I was flabbergasted when she took the now cold fries to the kitchen and put Parmesan and oil on them and returned the same cold fries...beggars belief! My 7 year old son had calamari and exclaimed how cold, hard and tasteless they were, he was correct they were like flavourless rubber. As I said we know there are many fantastic places in Wimborne to eat but we at least though this would do for our children...my children asked never to go here again because the food was disgusting, says it all. Topagigios is a similar price and far superior in every way. Thank you to the man that welcomed us.

It's Prezzo and you know what you are getting..look for current offers as they can make a big difference to cost, especially mid-week. I think the Prezzo offer has improved of late and this place is worth a visit as the building is different to most Prezzo's and offers a pleasant dining environ.

Took my husband for dinner tonight as we've had a couple of stressful weeks and thought it would be a nice relaxing way to end the week.Unfortunately the waitress when bringing our drinks proceeded to pour 2 glasses of red wine over us. Whilst she was very apologetic, it seems the management here do not know how to deal with scenarios like this.We were told the manager was aware and was going to come over and speak to us, this didn't happen. In fact, my husband had to go and find some extra tissues to mop up both the table and ourselves. In fact other than the waitress there was no apology or acknowledgment from any one else.There was a lot of red wine on the floor and I was worried that my light grey coat would end up in it so I hung it up in the corridor, even then no other member of staff acknowledged me.When we came to the end of the meal the bill came, and the couple next to us even commented how we shouldn't have to pay for the meal.At this point my husband went to check my coat had no staining on it and asked to speak to the manager. At this point the manager came over but no apology came. We felt bad asking if the drinks could be removed from the bill but he did agree.The bill came to £17, in our view Prezzo could have offered for us not to pay any of this. Overall the experience left us with a rather sour taste in our mouth. We were both sat in our wet red wine stained clothing throughout the meal, with no further assistance provided.I have now just got home and had to put a load of washing on to ensure our clothing is not ruined. I have checked my coat and miraculously it looks like the red wine stain is only on the inside so at least this is not damaged.We accept mistakes happen, but as I have always been taught in Client Service, it's not the mistake that people remember but how it's dealt with and unfortunately this was not dealt with by Prezzo management.

Last visited Prezzo in 2016, and returned recently with a group of friends. Now I appreciate that it is almost Christmas, and consequently potentially busy, but I really would have expected a 'chain' eatery to be sufficiently 'geared up' for an influx of visitors.So, back to my visit.No lasagne, no burgers (sold out ???!!!), therefore my selection was compromised somewhat.Eventually ordered meat balls. Not too pleasant when it arrived in front of me. The presentation left a lot to be desired, reminding me of food which had just been dumpted on my plate - possibly yesterday's left-overs ?? 'Clods' of spaghetti stuck together, and so, not very pleasant at all. Other people in our party seemed reasonably satisfied and so I was not prepared to complain !Didn't have a dessert, instead ordered a latte, which arrived lukewarm.Need I say more, other than I shall not rush to visit for a third time.

I have given this place 3 chances.... Never again. Costumer service is awful. Food mediocre and always a challenge if "one" has a voucher!

From the minute we walked in we were impressed it was warm it had atmosphere, lighting just right , staff polite , and the food was amazing, well impressed d had a little wait for main course but they were very busy would I go back yes yes yes .

Went to this restaurant on Saturday with a group of friends, whilst the meal itself was lovely the service was very slow despite the restaurant being strangely quiet for a Saturday eve at 8pm and there was lots of little fruit fly type insects flying around the table and settling on the wall and door frame which unfortunately spoilt the evening. When this was bought to the attention of the lady serving our table she simply shrugged it off and said “we didn’t have a problem yesterday”. Upon paying the bill we mentioned the issue again even pointing them out to which she said I’ve told the manager and we’ll refund you the cost of a beer - there was 5 of us and we only had 1 beer at the cost of approx £6 equating to not even 10% of the total bill!!! Needless to say we will not be going there again which is a shame as it’s not what we expect from Prezzo and the building in which the restaurant was is beautiful.

My friends and I visit quite often Wimborne and Prezzo is a good choice to have a lunch. Very good food , they got gluten free options . We will be back!

A very convenient place to visit prior to a trip to the cinema nearby. Staff were friendly and welcoming and service was very good. I had pizza, OH had lasagne and both were very good. Would happily return.

The wine was ok but expensive for the quality. House red was musty. My spaghetti Bolognese was bulk standard, rather too much of it but nicely al dente. My partner’s pizza was awful. ‘Roast peppers’ were two big strips of barely warm pepper. ‘Caramelised onion’ was oversweet marmalade. Two big chunks of dry flavourless chewy chicken. We wouldn’t have chosen to come to a chain restaurant but couldn’t find anywhere else. We thought at least the basics would be ok. Not so.On the plus side, the building is beautiful but I don’t think the restaurant be there for long. Service was friendly even when we complained but we were still charged for everything.

Pizza was served cold, they reheated it, burnt it, was awful, tasted like burnt cheese on toast....worst pizza ever served.

Lorraine welcomed us warmly and showed us to our table. Our food was well presented and delicious. We appreciated the efficient service and the quality of the food. A most enjoyable evening.

Totally dilapidated venue, from the moment you enter with the frayed carpet in the foyer held down with gaffer tape which I almost triped over to the filthy walls and splash marks right next to our table. A single grotty wc / disabled / babychange room for all patrons was also filthy, enough for us to just have our drinks and leave without ordering food, certainly will not be visiting again. Wimborne has so much more to offer than this unacceptable standard.

We enjoyed the special offer 2 course including drink menu which had good choices with variety and the pizzas were particularly good. Bit of a delay between starter and main courses but not too disruptive. Needed to watch the bill though as we were initially invoiced as if all items were from main menu which was a lot more than the offer!

went here on a Friday evening, just 4 people. table booked for 7.30 so far so good. all sat down asked if we wanted drinks, drinks came, brought menus, took orders starters and mains by this time it was about 7.50. Starters arrived about 15 minutes later about 8.15. then we sat and sat and sat. I asked twice when were our main courses coming - they eventually arrived at 9.30. Asked for another round of drinks, had to go to bar and remind them. eventually we had desserts finally finished our meals at 10.45. when I went to pay the bill they had already taken the cost of the desserts off as they knew i was unhappy. It is good not to be rushed but to wait 1 1/4 hours between starters and mains is not good. I have to say the food was good - pizzas and lasagne . unless you want a long night out I suggest you think about this place!!

Visited yesterday as an extended family group of five . Superb , warm welcome , nothing hurried , unless we wanted so . Lovely friendly staff . Good choice of well prepared & tasty food .Limited parking is free at the restaurant but a main public car park is free after 6.00 pm. only 2 minutes walk away .

We’ve been coming to Prezzo for years and the food and staff have always been outstanding. The only thing that put me off a bit during our previous visit was the music. I wouldn’t consider it appropriate to be playing loud pop music in a restaurant like this. This caused everyone in the room to talk louder so they could be heard over the music so my family and I could hardly hear what we were saying to each other. That was the only downside though. Other than that, the food and staff were lovely like always and Prezzo remains my favourite restaurant in Wimborne :)

We were warmly welcomed and despite the confusion over the change in the booking ( I rang up but the message hadn’t got through) we were given a lovely table and the service we had was delightful. However as the restaurant filled up the service became very slow - not the fault of the staff they were working very hard - and the noise level rose considerably. We actually hurried through the meal because we couldn’t chat!! Obviously no one was too blame- it’s because of the room design but it’s a shame as we won’t hurry back.

We recently booked a table of 8 for my mums birthday and were extremely happy with the quality of service we received. Our servers Radu and Lucy were both efficient and friendly, and made us feel like nothing was too much trouble! Despite being seated outside, drinks were prompt followed by a short wait for starters and mains. All was delicious and hot when served. Those who could squeeze in a pudding said that they were also excellent, and a great compliment to a lovely meal.

I'm visiting from Cyprus and had lunch with my mum and her husband. The food was home made and delicious. The spaghetti and meatballs are to die for. Super friendly and attentive service and well priced! Highly recommend. And for the Portuguese manager .. you're fabulous!!

My husband had booked a table for our anniversary. It was a lovely evening and we had seen there were tables outside. We arrived ten minutes early and met who I presume was the head of house ( he was in charge)

Really super evening. Our food was truly excellent, delicious and well presented, and we loved the coffees and mini desserts, a lovely way to round off our meal. The ambiance was really nice and the service faultless, friendly and efficient.
