Came in with a friend for breakfast and it was lovely. Great service, friendly staff and would definitely return. There was a very rude customer who complained about their food and then accused Ellis of not apologising, and then accusing him of having a go at the customer. Neither being remotely true and I can honestly say that my table, and other customers in the cafe can say its not true. All was handled incredibly well and I no where deserves that treatment from the member of public. Definitely won't deter me going in and, if anything, makes me want to support this business more!
I went to the coffee cupping experience and really enjoyed it. Tried 8 different coffees and given a choice of one to take home included in the price. Dan was great. Well informed and modest so didn’t make anyone feel out of place.
Coffee was high quality and lovely and the company is working hard to ensure the beans are ethically sourced and packaged. A great place to pick up a take away coffee and some pretty amazing looking cake!
And an added bonus of the Lyme bay winery opposite.
An absolutely lovely place for a genteel lunch. We were a party of 9 with our own challenges (small child and aged grandparents). The staff could not have been more accommodating. The food was very good value and a nicely varied menu plus an interesting wine list. Well done!
I arrived at the cafe with my son, and we were immediately told to move to a smaller table even though the cafe was empty. They asked if I could wait until 12pm for lunch, so I said I'd order drinks in the meantime. My son (aged 7) was finishing off a last bite of a sausage roll from the bakery and the waiter was very abrupt about no food from other places. We left and consequently they lost perhaps £20 in sale. I just felt like we were a hassle to and contrary to the sign saying 'all are welcome' we felt anything but.
Visit the bakery on Thursday i would to say the coffee and sausage rolls and cakes was amazing friendly staff and coffee place and seating was clean and well looked after ,my only concern was the toilets could do with a sweep and clean it was dirty and not up to standard but would defo visit again ..so I would only recommend the toilet area a 3 .
The last few months I have been trying to contact Winslade Manor to use a £100 gift voucher. They have been impossible to get hold of! Every line is busy and goes to voice mail. They have never responded to any of my voicemails or emails!
I got through to a lady one time, who said that the restaurant was closing to small bookings and she would get back to me, though she never did. Awful service!
What an awesome cafe !! Absolutely loved everything about it ,100% perfection, the staff were polite, friendly and attentive and the food was super lush, really good menu and not ridiculously expensive . Well done all of you, we'll definitely be back soon.
We loved everything about our stay at Dukes - the welcome we received on arrival, prompt service, excellent food, lovely rooms and the location so close to the beach. There were lots of nice little touches that we enjoyed - the blankets to wrap around ourselves in the beer garden when the evening became cool, and the sweet trolley on the 1st floor (that went down a storm with the children in our group)
