Lovely afternoon Devon cream tea! The Cherry Bakewell scone was probably one of the best I’ve ever had, and judging by my waistline, I’ve had a few! Lovely setting, sat in the outside terrace in a warm afternoon! Will definitely make the effort to come here again on a trip to the wet country!

Eaten here a couple of times.Food and drink very good, and most staff very helpful and friendly..A nice pub..However ,one particular barman lets the place down.He is rude ,arrogant and unhelpful. He really isn't bothered weather he serves you or not..Our last occasion we walked out without ordering food.If i were the Landlord i would have a serious word with Mike to put him straight regarding his attitude. Apparently, according to the locals he is always this way..Not good.We are reluctant to return when he is on shift.Such a shame .Neil Jones Kidderminster ..

What a lovely pub! As soon as we arrived, we were given a warm welcome. The pub has a friendly atmosphere, with lovely staff. The menu options are great, with a specials board too. The food was delicious, perfect portions, served piping hot & freshly cooked. Fantastic value for money, so much nicer than mainstream chain pubs. A real gem of a pub, would thoroughly recommend.

Called in because our intended café was closed. We were the only ones in and promptly shown to our table. Our order was taken and my wife had avocado and eggs and i had the full English with coffees. The coffees were excellent and we both enjoyed our breakfast, much better then the hotel. By the time we left the place was extremely busy so don't be put off if is quite.

What a wonderful find! You could walk down the High Street and miss this special retreat as it’s accessible via a narrow alleyway from the main road pavement. Keep an eye out for, "The Vine Tea Rooms" sign above the alley entrance. Just 50 feet in and you’ll find yourself in a beautifully kept secluded garden away from the noise and busy market place. A real sun trap in summer and a great place to sit outside and enjoy a cream tea and a slice of cake. Equally you could be sipping an artisan gin or one of the local ales available from the well appointed bar. On entering the premises you’ll be welcomed by one of the friendly and very helpful staff showing you to your table in either the tea room or the restaurant / bar area where there is a classic Devon menu to peruse. The local speciality of the day board is displayed above the fireplace and includes delicious starters, mains and deserts which will keep you coming back for more! Equally on a winters or rainy day it’s the perfect place to find a cosy table by the roaring open fire and have that delectable "winter warmer"! A real gem that will make you look forward to your return!

Stopped for coffee on route. Very disappointed due to exceedingly poor customer service. A polite request to dispose of a single paper cup was refused “We don’t take other people’s rubbish because we have to pay to have it taken away” Don’t work in hospitality unless you are prepared to be slightly hospitable.
