Food lovely,lacks atmosphere venue not very warm,need to state non alcoholic drinks have to be bought at Curry Cottage not taken in

I love this place! Food and service are both amazing - I love Indian food and I can honestly say Curry Cottage is one of the best I’ve tried - great special on a Wednesday night and BYOB both make it an affordable night out - thank you we will be back!

Had my first meal from here tonight. A take away. It was Devine and more than enough for me to eat. I’ll be going there on a regular basis from now on

Noticed the positive reviews & decided to eat here. Couldn’t fault it. Respectfully received upon entry & given a choice of table. BYO opened & glass offered. Starter of poppadoms & dips good. Mains of madras & pilau rice excellent, flavoursome & good degree of spice. Attentive throughout. Highly recommended.

Our first visit , recommended to go by our friends, and we were delighted . Spotlessly clean with beautiful white linen tablecloths and napkins Relaxing environment , great service , and absolutely delicious food . We will definitely go again and would not hesitate to recommend it

Well with service we received and food was so delicious we honestly would have given them more. The wife and I have always been treated well by odean and his staff it’s nice to get good service very good food. The portions were really big for my wife so tomorrow’s dinner it is then. We wish to thank curry cottage for giving us a great evening with great food plus greater service.

All was very amenable from arrival to settling the bill. Starters for two are substantial and delicious. I could recommend the Biriani and Pathia, both were excellent.

We visited on Saturday night as a party of 5, we have visited so many Indian restaurants over the years. We all agreed that this was one of the nicest Indian meals we have had! The food is so fresh, the chicken in the curries was so soft and so much of it! The portions were huge! The service we received was brilliant, the waiters could not do enough for us all! Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again if we come to Devon again!

The restaurant is located right in the centre of Exmouth , close to the main square. The restaurant was quiet which is surprising because the food was excellent. The Chicken Rogan and the Keema Nan was the best I have had in years. The Nan was light, the filling very tasty compared to many others. The portions were very generous and for once I failed to finish everything. Excellent food, excellent service, I couldn’t fault anything

Had the Wednesday evening offer which was excellent value. Food was delicious and service was very good. No alcohol licence so bring your own - they provide the glasses and open it for you. Will definitely return when we next visit Exmouth.

Arrived late and not very nice to eat. Won’t be using them again.

Was great for about a year, Then on 2 occasions over two weeks we both had bad diarrhoea about an hour after eating it. After the diarrhoea stop eventually that evening and returned to solid. I Ate the rest to prove it was the curry, And sure enough the diarrhoea returned. Shame it was a good curry house to start with

Chicken seemed a bit tough for the mango chicken tikka but apart from that it was good

A long way from home.... came to Devon for a holiday! Came across this Gem in Exmouth Absolutely perfect evening! Staff very friendly, attentive and welcoming The food was fantastic! The Tawa Lamb was amazing!!! Definitely coming back!!

I had the king prawn puri to start and it didn't dissapoint. Very tasty with a nice little spice kick. I didn't know it was a Bring Your Own as they don't sell alcohol. Worth knowing in advance. Nice and clean. Friendly staff. Very accommodating. Loved it. Worth a visit.

The fish in the Bhuna sauce was overcooked, dry and inedible. Not happy.

What a wonderful little find in Exmouth. We booked a table here for an early evening curry on a Friday Night. From the moment we arrived the service was impeccable even to the point that they come over to open the door when you are about to leave. The curry itself was one of the best we have had and nothing was left at the end. They don't serve alcohol so you can bring your own drinks which in all honesty makes it a cheaper night out without compromising on the quality. We are not curry connoisseurs so mainly stuck to the usual Tikka Masala but they were so tasty and such a vibrant colour of red. Cannot recommend this place enough, we will definitely be back.

Food was great but sadly a delivery time 45 mins after the original delivery time, for a mid week delivery was just not reasonable.

Felt so relaxed the staff were lovely never rushed us, made us very welcome, and very reasonably priced. Meal was delicious

Felt very welcoming on entering. Shown to our table promptly. Given plenty of time to discuss and order our food. Food delicious, and served hot. Very good portion sizes and didn’t feel rushed to finish the courses. Can bring your own bottles or cans of drinks. Do supply drinks if required. Plenty of time to relax and chat after our meal before we paid the bill, at no point felt rushed. Spoke to the owner afterwards, states all food made fresh to order on the night and if you struggle to finish your meal, any left overs can be taken with you. An overall really lovely experience. Cash or cards welcome. Take away available.

delicious! Hot & will dry order again

We have been using this place since it opened, but saddly it has gone downhill, largely due to a lazy attitude of cooking as much as possible in advance and re-heating to order. Last night we had one chicken and one lamb tika, usually cooked to order in a tandoori oven. Both dishes were clearly pre-cooked and refrigerated, then reheated in a frying pan (?) resulting in tough, over-cooked meat that was coated in oil, all on a bed of soggy limp onion slices. To cap it all, they haggled over the discount (15% when collected) and tried to charge for mint sauce, after telling me on the phone 'tika comes with.' £30 I will never get back; sorry guys, but we have to work very hard for our money these days, and cannot afford to waste it on hugely disapointing meals like this. We eat indian once a week bit will not be returning here.

Best Indian food in Exmouth - Friendly and attentive staff. Bring your own beer and tasty curries. Would definitely go again. Could do with less harsh lighting and warm coloured walls for a nicer ambience.

Had an excellent meal tonight, the food was exceptional as well as the service, could not fault. Highly recommend this restaurant. Had chicken Chaat for starters was amazing then chicken korma and chicken bhuna and the naan bread was the best we have ever had.

4 of us hada meal here on Wednesday evening. The service and food was excellent, good portions, tasty - perfect. We brought our own wine as they don't have a licence and it worked well. We will return - thank you

the food was horrendous 10 minutes after consuming the meal i had extreme burning diareah and had food poisoning it was disgusting the flavour was bland. NOT A AUTHENTIC INDIAN RESTAURANT!

I don't have any words to say about this waste restaurant ever i see in my life, Very bad service,they don't want to take care the guest,I think one manger his from Bengaldesh something,his behaviour to us like we are came to eat like free ...They made us a miserable day for me and my family, Even I don't want to give a any Star at all,they are not eligible for not even one star,I never recommend this restaurant in Exmouth.....

Really enjoyed the food but please be aware that if you choose their 3 course menu rice is counted as one of the courses - so extra to pay for a sweet. Also charged over £7 extra for 4 popadoms.

What a find , we lived in the Midlands for many years and we were very lucky to have plenty of good Indian restaurants, on moving to Devon we struggled to find a decent restaurant, Curry Cottage is the best place we have found for flavour, portion size, real value for money and now you can take your own booze!!! We are always greeted with a warm welcome. So if you're looking for a great restaurant look no further.

Food arrived freezing cold and stale. Really disappointed seeing as we were regular customers.

A good evening with delicious food served by friendly staff. Highly recommended, we will be back. Being allowed to bring your own wine not only added to the meal but was a considerable saving from having to purchase it in a restaurant with an alcohol license.

As we are new to the area we have been trying out a number of restaurants and have to say this is certainly one not to be missed. The solo member of staff who took our order was so welcoming and friendly. We ordered starters and mains which were both generous in portion and delicious, even having to take a 'doggy bag' home. They do not serve alcohol here so do take your own. We will definitely be back.
