Fantastic experience especially with Jamal. He looked after us and made sure the service was good and the food hot. The food is very authentic.

My experience here was exceptional. I’ve ordered delivery from here before and the service was fast and the food hot. Today I ate in for the first time, the staff was so friendly. Really good customer service and the food was delicious. I recommend 100%.

Went with my 13-year-old son, wonderful restaurant clean and tidy and very friendly staff, starters were top drawer, My Son had the buttery chicken which he thoroughly enjoyed. I had the chicken jalfreze which was absolutely wonderful possibly one of the better ones I’ve had, the overall experience I would give a massive thumbs up and would highly recommend,

These people really know how to cook. The old boy will remember you even if it's been ages since your last visit, greet you like an old friend, and probably remember what you ordered last time. Take your own alcohol - the wine glasses are already laid on your table in anticipation. A superb restaurant to eat in or take-away.

As we often do we got a takeaway on Sunday 4th May it was amazing. The food is fantastic as always and the customer service is amazing. Jamal and his family and everyone who works at this amazing restaurant are wonderful people who always greet everyone as family. We regularly order takeaway, and occasionally dine in. We joined you last on Thursday last week. Dining in the service is second to none and attentive. The food is fantastic, I recommend the Sali. Once I’ve had a slower experience with the takeaway on a very busy night, but otherwise always within 45 minutes of ordering with a friendly driver. We love our local Indian restaurant 👍🏻

Online order. Ordered at 6.45pm, arrived at 8.46pm. Called twice to chase up. No apology. Just told they didn't have enough drivers. Food was stone cold on arrival and the poppadoms were bendy. Takeaways aren't cheap and a treat for many. Won't bother again.

Ordered a takeaway for 4 people to be delivered with 2 hours notice. It arrived almost an hour late and half of it was cold. We tried calling several times and there was no answer. When they eventually answered we were just told it would be 10 minutes and the driver was running late "because it was cold". Food was tasty enough but all tepid, which was a shame.

Even though this was ordered at least 4 hours before home delivery it was late and had to be chased up , but worse of all the food was awful just total mush, really disgusting. We have had this set menu before and it was amazing. Nothing like the horrible mushy disaster delivered tonight. Never again

We visited at the beginning of January and were very satisfied. We were served by the owner of the restaurant himself, who kindly offered us different dishes to try. We are grateful for the recommendations and the delicious coffee as a treat!

Having read the reviews we decided to try this restaurant on recent overnight stay on our way to Cornwall. From the moment you walked in, you were greeted with a friendly smile and very attentive staff. Fairly quite but then it was mid-week. The owner was such a lovely guy, he came over and asked us what dishes we normally opt for and then gave us suggestions of different dishes to try based on our likes, not something that happens a lot these days. Food was amazing and plentiful, couldn't fault it. Owner was very chatty but not intrusive. We didn't want a dessert so asked for the bill, but instead he bought us two complimentary coffees - some of the best coffee we've had, very silky and smooth. Don't get to Honiton too often but definitely will visit the next time we are there. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend a visit - you won't be disappointed.

This review is for the takeaway service which we use most weeks. The ordering online is so easy. The menu has so much choice & the food is top notch. The fact that they deliver to us is just great as we have not found any from Honiton that will deliver as far out as we are. The food arrives hot in a special container & they always throw in some poppadoms & the drivers are very polite.

We ended up here because the restaurant in our hotel was closed unexpectedly but were very glad we did visit - we had two excellent curries - the poppadums were lovely and crisp / fresh and the naan bread was good too. The staff were lovely Jamal in particular was very friendly and efficient - can thoroughly recommend eating here so please do take the time to step off of the main high street and visit here for a great meal

We have not been to this restaurant for about a year but believe it has changed hands recently. The owner is a very helpful and friendly chap and guided us through the menu as needed. The food we have to say was very good and I would have no hesitation in recommending it. The only negative would be the state of the toilets, hopefully they are on the 'to do' list as they need decorating and a good clean. They were doing a massive trade in take away meals so clearly a big hit with the locals., always a good sign, we will go back. Make sure you take your own booze if needed as they do not serve alcohol.

Poppadoms to start with a variety of sauces. We had chicken kormas, madras and a mixed biryani. All were cooked to perfection. Only thing I would say was missing was maybe some background music however this didn’t dampen our experience and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting or in the area.

Had many delivery takeaways fromm King Of Spice, Honiton and never a disappiontment, food is alway well spiced so gives excellent flavour and would not go anywher else for our Curries, just superb.

This amazing restaurant is our regular go to for a date night. The food is delicious and tasty with authentic flavours. I highly recommend the king prawn puri, tandoori chicken, North Indian chilli chicken and another lamb (forgot the name). Jamal (owner) is very welcoming and friendly. If you are not sure what to have, he will make great recommendations.

Ordered from here lots of times and generally has been really good, but at the weekend ordered and it was vile, ordered a vindaloo that arrived swimming in grease and had no spice to it at all, korma was cold and only had 3 bits of chicken and couldnt tell if the naan was cheese or plain, called up to tell them and they said they would refund for it, but nothing, have emailed 3 times and no response.. would have forgiven them for an "off" night, but their customer service has been so bad i'll never use them again.

Food is excellant, only let down is the delivery service, always late, pre ordered at 17.00 for at 19.50 delivery, chased at 20.15, turns up ten minutes later... not the 1st time this has happened sadly. Other than the delivery i love it, although i will only be doing collection from now on which will limit my use.

Got another Take away! Love coming here every month or so as a treat.

Great tasting meals and very willing and helpful stuff. We tend to avoid very spicy dishes and we're glad to find their passanda, korma and masala curries are mild enough but at the same time tasty!

Visited king of spice on thursday (26/9) for a takeaway. Me and my husband had the butter chicken with pilau rice and popadoms. Everything was really fresh, chicken was so juicy and tender and the flavours were amazing, so good that I wanted to order another. Best curry I have ever had. Will 110% be back for more.

We're having a short break in Honiton, and we really fancied a curry tonight. We picked this restaurant, as they open at 17:00. We chose their Wednesday Banquet Menu. As well as being very good value, the food was excellent 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. Their popadums are very good, they were served warm, and they were nice and fresh, so they had a good tensile strength, and could hold lots of toppings from the pickle tray! I had the Lamb Madras, this was superb, the meat was lovely and tender, and the thick spicy sauce had a real depth of flavour. One thing it didn't have, that you get elsewhere was a lake of excess ghee floating on the surface. I had a garlic nan as well, I won't have any vampire worries later. Very much worth a visit, it is a shame we live so far away....

Best curry I've had for a long time full of flavour

Myself and my husband wanted to find a nice Indian restaurant for eat in or takeaway. So we made the decision to book and try king of spice dine in and we were not disappointed at all!! The staff couldn't do enough, they were a tentative and so helpful. The food we were presented with was absolutely delicious!! It was served hot and the presentation was great. It was certainly authentic Indian food. The atmosphere was relaxing and also calming. We loved the added extras of the hit wipes after your meal also the little palate cleansing chocolate. Such good value for money as well and we will most definitely be back. Can't recommend enough.

Collected take-away - the food was delicious! Easy to place order on their new website, the food was ready for collection on time, the staff was friendly, very good sized portions. We had three different meals plus generously sized tasty naan bread. We particularly recommend 'Slay the Dragon'!

King Of Spice is an absolutely delicious restaurant and takeaway. It boasts terrific Indian and Bengali cuisine and offers a large variety of all tastes (and temperatures) for lovers of authenticity prepared Indian food, crafted wonderfully. There are many dishes to try, with our favorites being the Tandoori Chicken and Tikka Masala. Even the appetizers such as onion bhajis and naan bread come piping hot, crisp and always fresh. The customer service (and delivery services) are excellent, with friendly consideration given for every order. In a world of sterile and cheap offerings, King Of Spice thankfully breaks the mould by offering both excellent quality and variety of food, alongside impeccably welcoming customer service. Highly recommended!

Most revolting food I've ever tasted, food delivered over an hour late, wrong order delivered. Worst customer service, whi stated the difference between a bhuna and a veg curry is the size of the pot delivered in! No refund or offer to deliver the correct order. Stay away unless you want food poisoning.

King of Spice is our go to Indian takeaway in the area. The food is absolutely delicious and always arrives hot. We always like to try different dishes and they never disappoint. And it's a bonus that they are the only food place in Honiton to deliver to our (rural) address!
