A limited range of decent quality food which is well presented. If you like your coffee you will not be disappointed and if you like "flat white" it's the best you will find. Try the scones too; yummy.

We decided to stop here for a drink before moving on from Budleigh and were so pleased that we did. The coffee was one of the best that we had for our entire holiday in Devon and Cornwall. Lovely smooth flavour and nice and hot....

You have to go to this place to experience the best cup of tea ever - freshly brewed from real leaves (and I mean leaves, not your smashed up bits you buy in the supermarket). And the scones were fabulous (we had cherry and almond) large and crumbly and oh so soft - and the jam so fresh! Next time we will have lunch there as the Panini sounded fabulous.

We've been here many times since Sept '14 review. Service, quality & friendliness is always the best. Scones are wonderful and served with lashings of cream & jam. Atmosphere is snug & cosy and lots of lovely things to see on the walls.

I feel I almost live at the wonderful Oak Barn Budleigh. I have introduced many friends to this little gem. With the warm log fire, wooden surrounds and quaint atmosphere, it is a great place to have lunch, morning coffee or afternoon tea. The staff are so welcoming and will always do their best to please.

A cosy log burner in the winter and decking for those warm sunny days. The most wonderful cakes (try the squidgy lemon) and gorgeous coffee. This is the place for you, with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere serving lunchtime snacks or afternoon teas. You can shop for oak furniture and find some lovely home accessories and gifts. We make a weekly visit and have never been disappointed. Soon to have an even bigger restaurant, we cannot wait. Do not pass by this little gem!Charlie and Lin Kerslake

Love visiting the Oak Barn. It's my "go to" coffee shop. All the staff are extremely helpful and friendly, there is always a very warm welcome. My favourite spot is snuggling on the sofa in front of the roaring fire - perfect. I have introduced lots of friends to this wonderful place and they have all loved it. Coffee, teas and cake are delicious. A a treat the all singing and dancing hot chocolate is a must!Highly recommended.

Took a wrong turn and ended up here. A lovely up market cafe that served lunches, delicious food and drinks. Also lovely and warm as there was a wonderful log burner. Super owners who even printed off a route for us to get to our destination.

Highly recommended for light lunches and afternoon tea. Delicious home made scones and above average panninis. Lovely coffee, everything very reasonably priced and polite welcoming staff, not forgetting the opportunityj to browse in the shop afterwards - not just lovely furniture but perfect for unusual finds and gifts. Well worth a visit

This is an absolute gem on the outskirts of Budleigh Salterton, a venue with a great deal of character, a delightful tea room and lounge offering a wide range of meals and snacks and, weather permitting an attractive outside decking area. They also sell a range of furniture and other home furnishings which all adds to the atmosphere of this venue,I would recommend making an advance reservation, and looking forward to visiting again when next in the area.

Met with my niece and wanted a light bite for lunch in nice surroundings. Well this place hit the spot perfectly. A great choice of teas and were quite happy for me to chop and choose between different things on the menu. I know that I'm discerning (old fuss pot) so this place gets my vote.

Just enjoyed the most amazing prawn and avocado salad, served with the usual friendly smiles. Mike has always made us feel most welcome and treats us like an old friend. We usually just have coffee and a cake but spoilt ourselves with lunch today - and we will most certainly repeat the experience. We sat outside to enjoy the last of the sunshine, but really enjoy going there in the winter and sitting in the big armchairs with a newspaper (provided) by the fire. Bliss! We have also bought a sofa from the 'Devonshire handmade sofas' side of the business and enjoy its' comfort every evening. It has been much admired and was a great purchase. Thank you Mike and all at Oak Barn Furnishings!

Wow what a gorgeous find - wonderful relaxed atmosphere - log burners add to the ambience and cosy feel - but then you taste the scones and you know you are on to a winner - the hardest part is not staying for longer and more food.

Tbis is a lovely place, you can sit and have a meal or just a drink in beautiful surroundings. By a fire in the winter or outside in the summer. The oak furniture for sale is lovely along wit all the other items that can be purchased. A must to go to.

This place serves seriously good coffee in a unique environment and atmosphere. Great shop to look around too - quality furniture and furnishings. What's really good is that the owner has his office desk right there in the shop and is greeting and thanking virtually everyone in a very natural and genuine way. Well done Mike. Highly recommend a visit here even if you don't drink coffee. Lots of other options and such a delightful place.

We stopped here for coffee, just by chance, and what a lovely surprise! This roadside business sells lovely (some quite expensive) oak furnishings, and household gifts, and they have a small cafe area, together with a shady patio outside. The food is excellent quality, cakes, panini, cream teas etc. I had a brie, ham and black grape panini, which was really tasty, and came with a wonderful side salad that included fresh peas, tiny broad beans and sweetcorn kernels in a minty dressing - yummy! The staff were friendly and attentive, and provided two plates and forks without being asked when they heard us discuss sharing a piece of the tasty orange cake. We were even impressed by the toilet, which boasts a lovely wooden handbasin!

It's not often you can find such a quality cafe which isn't actually the main business and receive coffee, food and service to this standard. Outstandingly good. If you appreciatd really good coffee, the double espresso is highly recommended. Very good, excellent creamma, sweet and no bitterness at all. A delightful environment with superb furniture and furnishings to enjoy and look at afterwards - thesis business here. Run and staffed by delightful people, if you are anywhere near the place go and visit. If you don't enjoy the cafe, (highly unlikely) the shop is well worth a browse.

Recently visited with family for coffee. The service was great and coffee good but the cafe was so cold we sat and shivered! We witnessed other people coming in, then leaving as it was so cold. It needs to be warmed up with the Winter season here otherwise custom will be lost.

Gingerbread house cafe is a lovely local coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the high st, just up from the beach. I recently ordered a cream tea for two box to be delivered to my mother for her birthday as I live far away. She loved it, it was fresh and delicious and included sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and all the fixings, and she couldn’t have been happier to be surprised on her birthday with a friendly face and a special delivery. They are also very active in the community and offered free lunches for school kids during Covid. A great cafe!
