What a wonderful experience!! While on a day out in the area of Seaton & Beer on our way home we were gasping for a good cup of tea and a cake - we trawled around Seaton and most other places had either closed or were closing, so on our way back to the car we found Pebbles. What a result!! A wonderful little cafe, just on the corner from the seafront! We received a lovely warm welcome from what we assume was the owners, we were invited to sit in a surprisingly spacious dining area and our goodies were brought to us. I can't speak for the rest of the menu, which was certainly an admirable choice of fodder, but the tea and cake was delicious - just the right thing at just the right time. And no doubt we will be coming back here - to a point we've avoided Seaton partly due to its seeming absence of such places but now we know where Pebbles is, we will be back!!

Dreadful service, we were waiting to be served and the man behind the counter said he would be with you in a minute and then served a lady on her own instead of us. When asked about it I decided to leave and not have breakfast there and the man told me to SOD OFF, not very kind to a pregnant woman with a small child!

We had a good experience here once before, even though it was ram-packed with summer visitors, so we popped in again for an impromptu lunch today. One of us chose the all-day breakfast, the other had ham, egg and chips from the specials board. You order at the counter and receive straightforward, tasty bistro food served in substantial portions in the clean and tidy dining room. We enjoyed the view from the seats at the window. The locally-sourced meat was a bonus, and the coffee was notably good. The toilet was clean and everything worked - including traffic lights to let you know if it's occupied. Best of all, the staff seem to be a very happy team and were friendly and engaged with the customers.

The first time we had been to Seaton for food. It was a miserable, wet day and the Pebbles cafe looked warm and inviting. Inside has features of its Victorian(?) heritage, two beautiful archways cross the ceiling. The decor needs a bit of a freshen up but that’s about it. Some of the furniture looks a little worn but no big deal. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We found a table to sit at, the dining area is quite large so easy to find a spot. They have the option of ‘chatty tables’, I think the idea is if someone is feeling lonely, they can sit here and chat with anyone else who feels lonely, I think. A nice idea I thought. The menu seems varied and the prices are about average. We ordered 2 all day breakfasts, a tea and a coffee. The drinks were lovely, quite small even though we ordered large ones so that surprised me but I was thankful for a sit down and a cup of tea. The food arrived so I will break down the issues item by item: The toast- brown ( no choice offered) hardly toasted and on the same plate as the meal, the plates are very small so quite fiddly buttering your toast. Egg ( fried)- very overcooked on the bottom and raw on the top..a snotty egg Beans- tasted cheap and very sugary, not many on the plate..for over £10 I expect more than a spoons worth Sausage - looked great. I could tell they were butchers sausage and was expecting good things, alas, no. Fatty, gristly and tasted of pepper..like the cheap supermarket sausages do, which put me off. I managed to force down 1 of them and left the other one..I could not force myself to eat more. Bacon- extremely salty, my mouth is still sore from the saltiness. I do enjoy a lot of salt on my food and this was too much for me. Tomatoes- on the menu they say they are ‘roasted’, these were raw. Mushrooms- soggy, no taste I’m sorry to say that this has to be the worst breakfast I’ve had, and I’ve enjoyed many a round the country. I couldn’t eat all my meal . The all day breakfast should be the gem on a cafes menu, it’s not hard to get right. Maybe other meals are ok here, I haven’t tried them but I had to leave this review due to the quality of the meal we had.

We were desperate for a dog friendly cafe with high chairs for toddlers after walking from Beer to Seaton. We received a very friendly welcome and found an amply spaced table for 6 adults, twin toddlers and a cover spaniel. The lunch selection was ideal with a choice of soup, toasted sandwiches, cream teas or the week day main meal special. Good value for money, hot and freshly cooked food and well tasting tea/earl grey/ filter coffee. Just what we needed.

As I had 10 minutes to wait for my bus to Sidmouth, I decided I didn't have time to go to Costa, so would try "Pebbles". My favourite coffee is a double macchiato, which normally costs around £2.50 to £2.65 (£2.60 in Costa, who always make a perfect one). At "Pebbles", I was charged £3.20 (the most I've ever paid anywhere in the world!). If it had been a perfect coffee, it would have been bad enough, but it was very poor - they obviously had no idea how to make one. It was overmilked and weak. The service was slow as well, so I had to dash off to get my bus, so didn't have time to complain. Appalling!

The first visit was for a bacon and egg bap. Huge bap, filled with 3 rashers of middle bacon, and I opted to add an egg. My best choice here to date. Second visit, we thought we'd all try a full english. The biggest downfall, in my opinion, was not having Heinz beans! Instead, they use Branston, which unfortunately I've discovered are not for me at all. They do advertise this fact very clearly. Allowing dogs is something I'm personally not keen on, which for others will be seen as a huge plus, again, this is also advertised and a matter of preference Staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful if asked anything. A few small things could really change this place, but I'll be sure to visit again despite any negative comments.

Was looking for somewhere to have a quick bite to eat and found this family-friendly little café close to the seafront. Although it was very busy, the owner found me a nice place near the counter. The café is in a quaint Victorian building, but the interior decor is clean and modern, with some lovely artwork on the walls. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere in general was relaxed and casual. They do a simple menu that includes breakfasts, jacket potatoes, sandwiches and light meals as well as cream teas and some tempting cakes. Good choice of hot drinks. I ordered a fruit scone with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Service was quick, the scone was homemade and really fresh, and the pot of tea was good and hot. A satisfying refreshment break in a very welcoming environment, and at £5.50 good value for money.

Lovely cafe and perfectly cooked food. Staff friendly. Can’t fault anything about my experiences here. Today a vegetarian breakfast cooked to perfection, pipping hot and delicious. It is good that customers are given the opportunity to agree to share a table that has 4 or 6 chairs if they are only a couple , very sensible.
