This was a really great last minute find. Really clean and comfortable apartment. 2 mins from the beach, restaurants and the Seaton Tramway. It is a restored heritage building so there are creaking stairs and heavy doors, but it goes with the charm of staying in a heritage building. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Had food here and it was lovely. The decor was awesome proper old fashioned in keeping with the name but it was clean and fresh. The only down side was the price vrs portion size. Not enough food for that price if you ask me.

August bank holifday weekend. We arrived at 1.30.with no meet & greet, had to guess what table we was to use as no one showed us to our table. We was a party of 7, the waitress took our drinks & starter order fairly quickly, the drinks came in a reasonable time. This is where it started to go downhill. The wait for all 3 of our courses was long. No explanation of as to why came forward. No one came & asked how the food was, had to go downstairs to order some bread ourselves. As there seemed to be hardly any staff. We went to leave straight after our desert course. We obtained the bill at the bar downstairs as no one came upstairs to see if we needed anything, & noticed that the 5 slices of bread & butter totalled £8, bit of a rip off considering. The whole bill was just shy of £300, the food was nice, hot & decent portion size. We only had one drink each except one of our party had two. We was at our table for three hrs in total, not through choice, it took that long for the food to arrive We questioned the bread price but was met by the manager with no explanation of why it was so expensive. Questioning the delay in service at the point of paying, we were told that they were short staffed. If we had been warned there would be a delay in service at the outset, it would have been recieved better than being told when being presented with the bill. The manager's attitude was unacceptable when questioned about his management skills, very nonchalant & did not care. "Just pay the bill please" was his response. We live fairly local although got the feeling we were being treated like holiday makers that were only in the area for a short time. Safe to say, we wont be returning & will post this review on other platforms too. I hope future customers have a better experience & the manager receives further training.

Had a really nice meal and time at the old picture house, Seaton. Fabulous service, food was great, especially the lemon cheesecake. Also very friendly with our dog, who loved the treats. Highly recommended.

This venue is excellent! We went to a dinner and dance last night. Beef bourguignon and vegetable curry, both of which were exceptional. Lovely staff, hard working and friendly. Were lucky to have this venue in Seaton.

Eat downstairs at a table in the bar area. A clean and comfortable modern setting which was serving very good, unpretentious food at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and efficient and we were made to feel very welcome. I would go back without hesitation.

Friendly atmosphere and helpful staff. Coffee good. Didn't eat, but food prep area (visible from seating area) looked clean and professional. Clean toilets. Amazing collection of black and white photos of movie stars from the golden age of cinema.

Sunday lunch - generous portions, everything freshly cooked and delicious. The Old Picture House is just what is says, it’s been lovingly renovated to retain the tradition features yet offers a large, open and welcoming restaurant and bar. The staff are friendly and helpful (Donna the manager is such a star) and the food is excellent. Seaton is, like most seaside towns, a bit faded and jaded bit places like this really help boost its amenities.

Recently visited with family for coffee. The service was great and coffee good but the cafe was so cold we sat and shivered! We witnessed other people coming in, then leaving as it was so cold. It needs to be warmed up with the Winter season here otherwise custom will be lost.

Gingerbread house cafe is a lovely local coffee/breakfast/lunch spot on the high st, just up from the beach. I recently ordered a cream tea for two box to be delivered to my mother for her birthday as I live far away. She loved it, it was fresh and delicious and included sandwiches, scones, clotted cream and all the fixings, and she couldn’t have been happier to be surprised on her birthday with a friendly face and a special delivery. They are also very active in the community and offered free lunches for school kids during Covid. A great cafe!

Visited today with my elderly mother with very specific requirements on colour and style. Staff were extremely helpful and it felt like most of the ladies wear team were looking after us. Thank you so much
