The best restaurants in Falmouth Gyllyngvase Cornwall, Isles of Scilly South West

We chose this Thai restaurant to visit for a meal tonight as we ate here on a previous stay in Falmouth. Again the meal was excellent Service was really really good and was both friendly and efficient. We chose the £42 menu for 2. It had a mixed starter platter and 3 different main courses with a bowl rice each The portions were generous so we failed to eat it all although we were asked if we wanted to take home what we had left! I have no problem in highly recommending a meal in this restaurant which is tucked away down a lane off the main road through the town .

Ok for a pint outside but pizza took ages and arrived missing several of the base ingredients plus staff were defensive about the poor service.

Amazing food and good value. I had the chilli beef and pulled pork burrito with avocado, with mango sauce, sooo good. I highly recommend visiting.

Fabulous food, great service and a wonderful view. The sole was amazing as were the scallops ! Highly recommend, a hidden gem.

He estado aquí muchas veces y nunca me ha decepcionado hasta ahora. Salí el último miércoles por la tarde y reservé una mesa para las 7 p.m. esa misma tarde. La reserva fue registrada en el diario. Tuvimos una visita familiar y estábamos ansiosos por nuestra cena. Llegamos justo antes de las 7 pm solo para que nos dijeran que el restaurante estaba cerrado por la noche ya que había una función privada. Les pedimos que buscaran en el diario que mostraba nuestra reserva. Se disculparon por el error, pero esto realmente no era lo suficientemente bueno. El personal debe saber si el restaurante está cerrado antes de tomar las reservas. No culpo a los camareros, culpo a la gerencia. ¿Por qué no pudo alguien haber notado "restaurante cerrado" en el diario? Princess Pavilion no ha sido la misma desde que estuvo dirigida por "Better Leisure". El sitio web no tiene sentido. ¿Por qué el menú no está en el sitio web? ? ? ? Llevaré mi costumbre a otro lado en el futuro. Nuestras visitas familiares no estaban impresionados.

Me and my partner have ordered from here twice, the second time they didn't actually have any banana blossom left, they called to tell us after the order had been placed, the staff were so apologetic and friendly,happy to offer us alternatives even if it cost a little more. We will definitely be going back, has become our pay day treat.

Nice place for lunch or snack while visiting the castle. Very friendly staff, good service very clean and basic choices very good. Highly recommended.

Great coffee still, but now under new management and is called 45.!! Roasts own coffee, reasonable prices and excellent service

It had gone by 2019 sadly. It was wonderful when I visited I 2017 but is no longer there, shame😥. The last who ran it was superb, great cook, friendly and welcoming, lots of locals are there too, good chat plus local knowledge, very sad it was shut by a local competitor apparently.

Randomly just dropped in unplanned as it was starting to rain, greeted by nice friendly staff. Had coffee and cake, both of which were really nice and would be hard to beat in an other coffee shop in Falmouth or elsewhere for that matter! We also asked about some restaurant recommendations for an evening meal and were given a really helpful shortlist of places to try locally and were not disappointed! Wouldn't hesitate to visit again if we are even in Falmouth.

When I saw this place could make the ramen gluten free I was happy but then when the waitress took our order she asked if we wanted the fried chicken and sushi my partner had ordered gluten free too! It was such a treat to be able to have it all. Fresh, delicious grub, we will be back!

Arrived at midday to an empty restaurant and ordered the small F&Cs and a beer, at a nice table with pleasant view of the berths. Food arrived, but not as described: no peas that were 'crushed' nor lemon? Then finding more than half the chips were dregs of the fryer/chipbag, not rustic. With no question on whether my meal was ok, I left after finishing the beer and gave the person in charge the chip bits advising they should not have left the kitchen and declining an offer of free beer or coffee; its about the experience not freebies. My experience ranked as per the images and it could have easily been more pleasant.

Stayed at St michaels resort for Easter weekend.... Let's start from the beginning... Parking isn't great we drove around 3 times to try an find a space... parked out on the road whilst we checked it....got to our room which was very nice stayed in the captains house... no problems what so ever over looked the car park... think there are 3 different parts to hotel. We then again drove around twice before we found a space again. Once settled we went to the spa area to book in for the hydrotherapy pool for the sunday and the lady was so nice I wish I got her name... she was so kind and helped us with everything. Went to the bar where we waited 20 mins before we got served. They took our drinks order then carried on serving which was annoying an waited another 10 mins for drinks... Asked if there was a table for food and one lady took us over then another lady took over. Food was amazing... had the smash burger and belly pork burger and wow they was amazing... chips were very salty though. After that we left an went back to the room. Next day for breakfast was first time didn't really know what to do ordered our breakfast and didn't get told about the toast or drinks area. Beans well they arnt beans there butter beans and kidney beans together wasnt nice but rest was lovely... Members of staff were not very friendly tbh... not one smile, not one apology, not one bit of notice to any customer around. Went to the spa and was amazing would definitely do that again can't fault it, apart from price is abit much for when your staying there, thought you would get more of a discount maybe. Not £10 off.... Evening food we went back to the restaurant and again food was good but staff still not the best apart from caitlyn she was so nice... biggest smile, very friendly, welcomed us. Breakfast on Monday we was welcomed by lou, she was nice and welcomed us. Took our order an food was really enjoyable At the end of the day it's a lovely place to stay just the staff need more attention to customer service cause we was just not acknowledged at all which was very rude. My partner was even speaking to a member of staff an she just ignored him an spoke to another member of staff which was rude. And there was NO wifi in our room, could only get it in the main hotel. And our towel rain in the room wasn't working... so didn't dry anything we wanted dry.
