Nuestras visitas familiares no estaban impresionados.

. . . . ¡ENTREN A SU PERSONAL SIEMPRE A TRABAJAR EN PRIMERO - VENGA - PRIMERO - SERVIDO, Y SIN EMBALAJES! !

Came for dinner on Bank Holiday Monday with family, it was very quiet considering it was half-term. The food is always excellent, not ordinary pub grub, but really tasty dishes with great vegetables. Service is always good. Can't understand why it was not busier, I don't think holiday makers know about it as it is not advertised much (this can be a good thing as service is quicker)

We decided to have dinner here before our show at the Pavillion. The menu was surprisingly limited but we managed to find something and it was very nice, as was the service. We felt a lot more could have been done with the restaurant to enhance the dining experience as it was a large room, unimaginatively laid out. At the end of our meal we were surprised to find that the prices quoted on the menu did not include VAT. If this was pointed out to us on the menu we both missed it as its not the sort of thing one would be looking for or expecting. This is the first time we have experienced such a thing and unfortunately it spoilt the meal for us so we wont be returning.

As a local we have used the Princess Pavilion at least once a week during the summer months. The venue cannot be faulted: the plants, the actual planting, the feeling of calm, the incredible view - it really is a lovely place. We have eaten from the menu on a number of times and it has been consistently good - but I have to say that the service lets the venue down every single time! The staff are friendly and polite - but slow! The bar area is very big but seldom seems to have enough staff - and right through the summer the staff, whilst serving, have never once said 'I'll be with you in a minute' or 'sorry to keep you waiting'. If the staff were more motivated, smiled more and showed a bit of energy and speed it would improve the place in my (and friends') opinion dramatically!

I lived in Falmouth many years ago and knew the Pavilion well. It is a long time since I last visited and what a difference! The gardens and bandstand remain the same but the bar / restaurant areas have been transformed. The food was excellent. I had the tiger prawn / cod / salmon skewers which were an absolute delight. Highly recommended. As it turned out I visited a few days later with other family members and enjoyed the scampi. Beautifully cooked. Why '4' not '5' - well there did seem to be some confusion as to whether orders were to be taken at the table or at the bar. We were told table service but had to chase the (charming) waitress to take our order. Recommended.

We had Saturday lunch here. The setting is great - the Princess Pavilion gardens. Caters for all - a children's play area, plenty of seating indoors and out. Fully accessible. Dogs also welcome on leads in the external area. The food was reasonably good. We had crab gratin which was tasty but a small portion. And a chicken tikka sandwich which was fine but wholemeal bread was a little dry. Accompanied by a good draft cider. The best thing about this place is the pleasant garden setting, close to the beaches.

We always enjoy the food at the Princess Pavilion and find it good value for money. There is a good menu for Sunday lunch but it's often busy so best to book in advance. We have eaten at this venue twice this week and we're delighted with the standard of food and the cost. Excellent quality and fresh food prepared and presented well. Although the garden room lacks a little in style, the food more than makes up for the surrounding. Outside is possibly a better experience in terms of the surrounding but the weather this week prevented eating outside. Certainly if you like quality food and exemplary waitress service then you must try this venue.

We visit this venue often but eat as rarely as possible. In my opinion expect to pay £10 for food that elsewhere would cost £7 and £15 for a meal that would normally be £10. The menu is not extensive and items are described in what I consider to be pretentious terms. So why do we visit, well the live entertainment (our favourite is a singer called Tory who performs on Tuesday evenings during the summer) is excellent and local people mix with holiday makers. There is dancing on Tuesdays and it's a very pleasant way to spend an evening. Many people avoid buying meals and if driven by pangs by hunger resort to having a small bowl of chips (£2.95). Even though the meals are expensive expect to have to fetch your cutlery from a central point and search round for cushions to make the chairs more comfortable. To me it seems incongruous for a venue that provides great family entertainment for locals and visitors to at the same time only supply meals that appeal to a minority of people.

Lovely setting and very good value for money compared to other nearby venues. Had lovely lunch with mum for Mother's Day although would question Yorkshire puds with lamb and didn't like my gravy/jus put on for me. Had to send son's lunch back as he doesn't do gravy at all and very young waitress questioned this. I said I had asked if we served ourselves to everything other than meat. Her reply she thought I meant vegetables. I personally love gravy but prefer to pour my own and put it where I want it not where someone else thinks it's appropriate! Nice choice of both starters and desserts though size of portions varied. The crumble was a large portion whereas the creme brûlée was very dainty though delicious. You can have coffee in the gardens outside afterwards and there is a sea view too. Overall very good

We're always on the lookout for somewhere for lunch around Falmouth, somewhere we can park easily. We wanted to check out future events at the Pavilion, and realised that there is a restaurant attached. You are not pounced on immediately. In some ways good, in some ways not so. There was a specials board up, but no menus on the tables, so we asked at the bar and were given the lunchtime snack menu. Lets choose a table: all the 'better' ones had a reserved tag on them so we found an unreserved. Later it transpired that reserved means reserved for those having a meal, so we could have usurped any table. My companion had a cheese sandwich, quite an impressive one, with the customary bits of foliage; I had the whitebait (again with salad) and a reasonably delicate tartare sauce. Both were entirely acceptable and satisfying. The whitebait was nicely presented too. As usual you order drinks at the same time as the food, and it comes first, so by the time the food comes it's getting cool. But this is a standard fault in many many restaurants. It wasn't busy. It is a very pleasant location: the restaurant overlooks part of the gardens, and even better, Falmouth Bay. Took a while to pay. Unhurried. Now that we know the protocols we'll probably be back and enjoy it even more. They have their own car park at the front off Melvill Road, or park on street on Cliff Road. That way you enjoy the grottos, the megalith, Darwin, the gardens, Morgawr and the bandstand. Doesn't get much better than that. Not relevant to us, but wheelchair access is very good. Lots of the doors are automatic, and although there are steps in the gardens, there is also step free access (not exactly ramps, but sloping paths).

Don't know why this is under Truro restaurants, it's in Falmouth.Walking down from Gyllyngvase Hill into town for dinner (and not looking forward to the uphill walk back) we spotted that the sign for what we'd taken to be a leisure centre or hall mentioned a bar and bistro. Went over and what a surprise! A nearly full restaurant in a very light, hall type room overlooking beautiful gardens. The friendly staff found a table for us, and offered us the alternative of sitting in the comfy bar area or at an outside table if we wished. The food was excellent (a vegetarian dish and dressed crab salad, followed by a good choice of desserts) and the waitress recommended a good local beer. The meal was also noticeably cheaper than most of the restaurants in Falmouth, which we found to be overpriced. There were quite a few families dining and it is clearly very popular with the locals. It's not an intimate, romantic venue though a drink in a quiet corner of the gardens would be lovely. This place is a bit out of the ordinary and we were very impressed.

I don't usually write reviews but as a good customer of the pavilions I am disgusted at how the staff have been on my last 2 visits. I went with my family for lunch and initially everything was fine. We were seated and our order was taken, it was a simple order of 3 sandwiches and 3 children's meals. However the waitress had to visit a couple of times to recheck that she had written down the correct order which made the food wait even longer even though the restaurant was pretty much empty although sometimes this is to be expected. When the food finally came out one of the orders was wrong even though the waitress had checked with us 3 times what we had ordered. When my dad informed them that the order was wrong they said that there was no more mashed potato to go with the chicken nuggets that was originally ordered so my brother stuck with the sausages to avoid hassle which he did not enjoy. They then tried to charge us for an adults meal for the sausages even though it was their mistake and we had never ordered them to begin with!!I visited again with my friend this week and we decided to order a sandwich while sitting in the gardens, however my friend could not find our table number. I didn't think that this would be a problem so we ordered our food. When we said we weren't sure of the number the staff behind the bar began to get sarcastic for no reason saying that there was no reason why we shouldn't know our table number. I pointed to the table where we were sat which had my friend pinks rucksack on the top which I pointed out. I thought that from their experience they would know the table numbers as I always have in the past when waitressing, However they continued to talk sarcastically amongst themselves. While my friend was ordering her food the other member of staff came over to me and asked if I was waiting. I began to order my food when the other waitress rudely interrupted and told the lady that she will take mine once she had finished my friends. While taking my order she was rude and made me feel uncomfortable. I'm assuming this was all to do with the fact that we didn't know our table number? Before we went to sit outside she said 'look for the waitress when she comes out with your food as she will probably be looking lost as she won't know where you're sitting' I couldn't believe she was making such a big thing out of this. There were 5 tables lined up outside and with us and another couple being the only people sat there I was sure there would be no problem finding us. When the food came out the waitress had no trouble finding us although she had to make a comment about my friends pink bag no longer being on the table for her to see. The food was lovely however they have definitely lost my custom due to how untrained and rude the staff are. If you do eat here whatever you do remember your table number!!

Turned up on the spur of the moment after walking up through the gardens and spotting the diners tucking into their Sunday lunches.Asked if a table was available as it was very busy and late in the service. Our waitress went and asked the chef and promptly returned to say that they could squeeze us in although they had run out of roast potatoes. However, these could be replaced with new potatoes.A complementary iced jug of water with slice of lemon was available. The meal (one beef and one lamb) came promptly and were tasty and hot. Fresh vegetables were served separately and well prepared. Both meats were very tender. For desserts we went for the fresh fruit salad (yes, it was fresh and not tinned) and the bakewell tart. So, in summary two excellent meals and equally excellent service.

As a group of friends we decided to all go for a Sunday lunch with our children for a catch up. Initially when booking we were going to be a table of 15, with 4 of these being children under the age of 2. We were told that there was not enough high chairs for all the children so may have to bring our own? Understandably there were other families using high chairs but perhaps something could be done to help us? When we arrived we walked into the restaurant and looked for where we were sitting. Our table had now gone down to 8 due to some people not being able to make it. It took nearly 5 minutes for us to be acknowledged as we just stood in the middle of the room. After eventually being shown to our table we advised the waitress that we were now only 8 so did not need the rest of the place settings. She then replied "well we have turned people away because we thought we were fully booked today". This did not make us feel welcome at all. Yes it perhaps we were a little at fault but with no deposit paid to guarantee a booking perhaps often understandable. Looking around the restaurant not every table was full and many not used so not really that much of an issue? We ordered drinks and our food. Our main meals came very quickly and we did not wait long. This was good. The roast was well presented and tasted good. However the service was not at its best. 1 member of the group was given lamb instead of beef. It was only because we worked this out that she ended up with the correctMeal. Also not enough veg for our table. We had to ask for more. After the main course this was cleared and then we ordered desserts. This again came in a good time. Majority of the group ordered creme brulee. This was not the best. Very little taste. Shortbread biscuit was very nice. We were disappointed with the service throughout. No one came to clear any glasses or ask if we would like more drinks. No one asked if everything was ok or if they could get anything else. After the meal had finished we sat chatting. No offer of coffees or to get the bill. Perhaps a chance to upswell missed?! We went to pay at the bar and as a group of individuals asked to pay separately. The gentleman behind The bar said "well we don't split bills...I will see what I can do" Then seemed to quite easily split the bill and we each paid separately for what we had. It made us feel we were being exceptionally awkward however he then did what we asked very easily. Each of us in the group said we would not return here as the service was defiantly lacking. Although the food fairly good service and atmosphere not welcoming and let the whole afternoon down for us. A serious lack management presence perhaps could be a reason for this.

The local authorities have spent a fortune on this place and i visit Falmouth regular. On visits it seems to have no life unless your a child or senior citizen. There is nothing for young - mid aged people. Hence my title

Just off the seafront is a fascinating garden /café/ theatre complex. The path leading to the gardens also lead to a shell grotto and a beach under the road. The food in the café is excellent and varied. The theatre attracts lots of different genres of entertainment at affordable prices.

Lovely venue but the food is overpriced. The coffee can be good but depends on who makes it. A pleasant place in the summer when you can eat outside and very family friendly. Get there early as the car parks quite small

By chance we managed to get a table at Princess Pavilion garden room, what a stunning venue, but the food is the real showcase. The chef is a culinary genius the way he marries flavours and textures. It was a plate of fresh seasonal delicious food. The staff were very courteous and made the whole experience a special one. Worth a detour for this 5 star venue.

Attended a wedding, the room look beautifully set out the food was good and the service was friendly and helpful. My husband said it ws the best bit of roast beef he had had in a long time. The children - there were over 30 were well looked after and the outside area even though raining provided a good escape for the kids without getting wet.

I like coming here in a nice hot day, if the beaches are a little crowded it is normally quiet here, unless there is some sort of entertainment on. you can get some thing to eat at the café, though can be a little pricey, the staff are ok depends if it is packed, then can feel like they are trying to rush you. But would recommend going here by yourself with friends or family.

Most of the gardens here were closed but the back road of the pavillion allows you to go down to the sea and there is a small fort like building. The place reminded me a lot of Turkey and was really, really beautiful. If the weather is good, definitely a great place to visit

My Gran took us to the pavilion when she had family staying. The Sunday lunch was excellent they have a really good choice of veggies with the lunches and not just the boring carrots and potatoes. The gave Yorkshire puddings with the lamb as well as the beef which was a nice touch as everyone wanted a Yorkshire regardless of the meat they were having. They are very accommodating with children - their meals were brought out with the adults starters. Cushions were provided to boast the young ones up in their chairs. There is also an outdoor area the children can play in while the food is being prepared. Great value for money too - we would definitely go back and recommend to others

An excellent eating experience. The family enjoyed a very tasty lunch here. The menu was fairly limited, but met the needs of all. The staff were friendly and very efficient. The restaurant is modern, light and airy and there is a lovely view of the gardens. An excellent lunch and we will certainly return.

Went here two weeks on the trot once on Saturday for lunch with a toddler unfortunately when we went to order at 2pm we were told that they had stopped serving food although the place was packed with families wanting something to eat, went the following Saturday for something to eat with a toddler and a teenager at 6pm we were told that we had to book even though we only wanted to sit outside and they weren't at all busy . They didn't really have a kiddies menu and what was on the menu didn't appeal at all. So for the second time in two weeks we went hungry! This used to be a place where families could go when out for a walk for something to eat and drink not any more ....it is trying to go to up market and be something it's not. Won't be going again which is a shame as there isn't many place you can go out in Falmouth with children .

Just been to the pavilion for an impromptu meal with friends and family. Imagine our delight when we're handed a menu with a choice of starters, mains and deserts that were all of a very high standard but on special for a month! Really good quality food and delightfully presented at stupidly low prices for the next month! Enjoy it while you can.........Bon appetite

Went for an evening meal as a group of 12. 10 had pre ordered, remaining 2 orders taken on the eve. Despite this when serving starters there was one additional dish then the when mains were served 2 meals were missing.turned out they had run out. So 2 of our party had to re order & wait for their meals whilst watching the others eat!! Very poor as was the service to offer any recompense.

The Garden Room is a delightful dining venue with fantastic friendly service and a very reasonable menu. On our visit he food was excellent and clearly prepared with prescision and attention to detail. The service was warm, friendly and highly proffessional. Our waitress had a very good knowledge of wine and reccommended a delicious number that suited our food perfectly. These combined were a gem to match the surroundings, which consisted of stunning sea views and beautiful gardens. The light in the room was exquisit with the sun shining through and the ambiance was calming and welcoming. I would highly reccommend this venue to anyone. Fantastic and all round, very impressive.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, but the show was late starting and it was quite cold in the cafe waiting area. Once the doors to the hall were opened all went quite well though we did feel that the advertising could have been better and we didn't see the artists sales area and had to return once we had inquired about it

The old beer garden was always a bit of a disappointment but the change has really impressed. The restaurant has upped its perfomance to a pretty good level. Good choices everyday except sunday when they have a set roast menu. All served and presented very welll. The gardens have benefited from a long overdue regeneration and it has worked well. This whole place is bit of a hidden treasure and well worth a look.

Have just visited with my family for lunch. 5 adults and 3 children. I don't think we have ever had such good service. We ordered the children's food pretty much as we sat down while everyone else decided what they wanted. The food arrived within about 5 mins and they ate every bit. Then they brought desert for the children while we had our main courses. The adults food was delicious and very well presented. The whole place was spotlessly clean and the service was top notch. Added to this we felt it was excellent value for money, £110 including a tip for all the food and a round of drinks. Will definitely go and back and will recommend to friends and family.

Absolutely wonderful visit. The cream tea was the best I think I’ve ever had. Warm scones, huge pot of cream and delicious jam, must be homemade. The tea was piping hot and came with an additional tea bag should you like it strong.
