Pendennis Castle Restaurant in Cornwall, Isles of Scilly

Visited on VE day. Very busy in the cafe but waited to be served, the staff were working hard to please everyone. I tried the dirty chips and really enjoyed them Great friendly staff, tables cleared quickly

Nice place for lunch or snack while visiting the castle. Very friendly staff, good service very clean and basic choices very good. Highly recommended.

Nice cafe/restaurant in the grounds of Pendennis Castle .seating both inside and out.( giving views of the castle and across the sea) Dogs on leads allowed. However non English Heritage members need to pay an entrance fee to the Castle even if they only want to visit the cafe.

Lovely food and service well recommended

The possitives when looking for lunch is there is quite a choice to choose from. Very friendly staff and will give you a number to have your food brought to you. However, the negative is I had a tuna sandwich with loads of Garnish. The bread was very dry and couldn't eat it all. Wish I had gone somewhere else. The only thing good was the cappuccino. Will definitely come back to the castle in the future, but the food needs improving

Had a toasted ciabatta and cream tea. Was very nice.

Great selection as on the bigger English Heritage sites with very kind and friendly servers. On this occasion we just had coffee but witnessed many having a week prepared lunch.

Such helpful folk. Even the Grandson changing his mind about the ice-cream was taken in their stride. Great place. Good value too till 31st August with their spend £10, get a child's sandwich lunch free. 🙂 Great friendly staff, membership discount good value children's sandwich meal. All good Pasties are good, nice salad with dressing & my wife loves the jacket potatoes

After a walk around Pendennis Castle a visit to the cafe is essential. It's a great cafe for tea, coffee cake or a full meal. It's fish and chips are delicious.

Great place to have bite to eat, with the bonus of castle to look at! Good food, nice staff, interesting setting.

Brilliant day with grandson playing pirates. Loved the plays and demonstrations. Really good, full day out.

We had a 45 minute wait for food (it was a busy summers day) but the food was worth waiting for and sitting enjoying a coffee, in the sunshine, in such wonderful grounds - was really no trouble at all. Thanks to the staff for the wonderful service. The freshly baked pasty and provided salad was really very good indeed.

Very enjoyable and informative. Steve. (Sgt. Steve for the hour) gave us a guided tour of the Half Moon Battery. This guy knows his stuff about the Castle and its role during different periods. He was very informative and explained everything well. Would definitely recommend a vist. The Castle was also interesting and we topped the visit off with a cream tea.

We had a pasty with chips and got the pulled pork and nachos to share, there was plenty for 2 of us. The pulled pork was a meal for one in itself. Al very tasty, great views and very reasonably priced.

Very nice cafe to drop into for a cup of tea or cold drink with your cream tea half way around the castle. A must.

This was all a part of the Pendennis Castle experience. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed our coffee with chocolate fudge cake, and a cream tea. The fixtures and decorations, mainly photos, contribute to the story of the place, with some well taken black and white photos of The Miners Regiment that were based there. Upstairs were further photographic and military history exhibits.

Had a cream tea there we would not recommend it the scones were very hard and not enough cream

I'd possibly have scored this higher if we'd tried more than a cream tea. The menu looked fab for an English Heritage cafè.

As cafés go this is your everyday English Heritage Cafe. We ordered a cream tea at around 1.30pm. The cafe was fairly busy (half the tables occupied) Staff were chatty and friendly but very slow in their service, taking 20mins to deliver our cream tea. The scones were supposedly freshly baked that day, but were disappointing as they were very hard and crusty and the cream serving skimpy. Sadly maybe we have been a little spoilt visiting other tea rooms but I would definitely try something else on my next visit.

What visiting Pendennis Castle it's a must to enjoy the great food and refreshments and the always friendly service.

Dropped in for some coffees that were lovely. Lady behind the counter was very sweet. Cafe was clean and tidy, but need to work on that "power assisted" door that didn't work!

We had lunch here, food is reasonably priced, staff was very friendly, food was delicious. Atmosphere was very nice.

Located inside Pendennis Castle grounds. When we went, there was plenty of seating outside with 2 extra food stalls. We went inside and had sandwiches and cream teas. Originally we where told there were no scones but a very helpful lady bought some from an outside stall so we were very happy. Reasonably priced for somewhere with a captive audience.

Super Blick über die Bucht auf der Außenterrasse und der Kaffee war auch sehr lecker! Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich!

Real good taste and real kind people. Would recommend a stop for lunch here as it's ever slightly cheaper than in the centre of town
