The best restaurants in Henleaze Bristol, City of South West

Warm, inviting atmosphere with wonderful Italian coffee. It’s hard to resist the cannoli pastries too! A welcome addition to Henleaze Rd despite there being four other cafes nearby. Limited seating but somehow you always manage to find a chair/stool.

Wonderful venue lovely staff and great food. Outside snug with heaters and feels quite warm even when freezing outside.

Great little cafe. (Please don't pass the word, or I won't a seat). Last last visit, we three had :- - Arabica eggs holedaise (Winner) - Toastie (Runner-up) - Lentil Soup (Thin - follower on - wooden spoon)

The service was exceptional, and the Italian meal was the best I have ever had. I highly recommend this establishment.👍

We were met by a very abrupt waitress who made us sit on a table for two, which had other occupied tables located very close to either side of us. There were several other empty tables where we could have sat without invading the existing customers privacy. We did not feel any of the staff were particularly friendly, the food was very over priced, and we took a very dim view of the waitress opening the front door and allowing the cold air into the restaurant on what was a very cold wet day outside. This made most customers feel very uncomfortable. We felt it was like they were saying, “we have had your money, so the quicker you leave now the better”. One customer got up and closed the door, and the waitress immediately went up to the front of the shop and opened the window. For how rudely we were treated, it’s a wonder they had any customers at all. We will not be going back !

I had a chicken trio for starters and chicken biryani for mains. We also ordered beers and prosecco for the table. The starter was good but I wished there was more of it. My friends had the lamb chops, which they also said was good. The main was good, however, I wish they put a bit more chicken in it. They adjusted the spice level to my liking. It also came with raita. My mates had the Syrian beef curry, which they really liked too. The food is generally very clean and there's no oilyness. We booked for 21:00 on NYE and finished at around 22:30. The staff were really nice considering we were a bit loud, which may have been because we were the only ones there towards the end. Overall, for Bristol, I'd say it's a decent Indian.

Heard great things about this so decided to check it out. To start the kidneys were undercooked and had not been properly prepared. The scallops were underwhelming. Then we had the pork check which the mash was thin and the sauce was more like dish water. It is a very pricey restaurant and I won’t be returning.

We had the pleasure of being served by James in the evening, and his service was outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, and made our visit truly enjoyable. It was one of the best experiences we’ve had at Costa, and we look forward to returning!

Bought a takeaway meal for 2, not as good as Vein's Palace on Kellaway Avenue, not particularly tasty and contained far more vegetables than meat.

Excellent cafe, pleasent art deco styling and easily a place you could happily spend hours watching the world go by from. Good menu selection, staff and coffee.

Pero si te encuentras con una camarera llamada Gab (creo que eso es lo que me ladró cuando le pregunté su nombre) estás condenada. Es grosera e impaciente. Ella no esperará a que encuentres tu tarjeta de puntos, y ni siquiera intentes usar la aplicación para un descuento estudiantil. Dios no te permita presentar un código QR que no funciona: ella te arrancará la cabeza a mordiscos y te seguirá con un repertorio de trucos pasivos y agresivos para humillarte frente a la cola. No te atrevas a decir nada más que el nombre completo del pastel que quieres. Si encuentra otro pastel con un nombre similar, no tiene paciencia para los perdedores que no conocen el menú Café # 1 de memoria. Espera que te ordenen llevar tu bandeja a tu mesa y ten cuidado: te despedirán si no lo haces lo suficientemente rápido. No te darán leche ni azúcar, solo una mirada sucia si vuelves por ellos. En ese caso, tómalos tú mismo, en silencio y rápidamente, y ni siquiera pienses en bloquear su camino mientras lo haces. De lo contrario, es un encantador café, organizado con buen gusto por la administración. Pero si quieres pasar el rato por más tiempo, es mejor que te dirijas al cercano Café # 1 en Westbury, donde el personal es encantador, paciente y donde realmente puede relajarse y disfrutar.

Decidimos probar su almuerzo del domingo, pero como era una decisión de última hora no habíamos reservado una mesa. Desde que aparecimos bang el mediodía, pudieron encontrarnos una mesa, pero le aconsejaría reservar para que no se decepcione. La carne asada y el pollo que pedimos era excelente. Había una generosa cantidad de patatas asadas crujientes, además de chirivías asadas y zanahorias glaseadas con algo delicioso, repollo y queso coliflor. El pudín Yorkshire era masivo y un excelente acompañamiento. Si fuera a ser exigente, diría que las zanahorias estaban bastante mal cocidas, además de que el remoulade de apio y la salsa podrían haber tenido más sabor. Me encantaría comer aquí de nuevo, pero ten en cuenta que es un pub que acepta perros, así que no es una sorpresa para su visita.

Be Aware: Butter Chicken Contains Coconut If you have a coconut allergy, I’d recommend avoiding the butter chicken, as it contains coconut and looks and tastes the same as their korma. When I inquired about this, the staff explained that their butter chicken is essentially korma with butter. It was not anything like a traditional butter chicken. If you’re deciding on having it, you may want to clarify ingredients before ordering.
