Llevó a mi hija mayor a una clínica en Henleaze y tenía una hora para matar esperándola. Café 96 estaba a 50 metros, así que entró.

What an amazing find, fabulous Full English Breakfast, up there with the best I've ever had. All perfectly cooked with great taste. Tea served in lovely teapots. Shame don't live closer as can't wait to come back again. Credit to the young men who run the place.

Qué increíble hallazgo, fabuloso desayuno inglés completo, allí con el mejor que he tenido. Todo perfectamente cocinado con mucho gusto. Té servido en teteras encantadoras. La vergüenza no vive más cerca como no puedo esperar a volver de nuevo. Crédito a los jóvenes que dirigen el lugar.

Great place ,friendly and helpful staff

Great breakfast, even better coffee, spotlessly clean, staff service amazing, but watching from afar, what struck me most was how genuine, kind and caring the young men working here were to some of their regular elderly and disabled customers. Refreshing to see.

Popped in for some lunch after going to the optician. I ordered a tea and a prawn sandwich on brown bread. The sandwich was delicious. It was on brown seeded bread with lots of fresh prawns and some lettuce. There was enough tea for 2 cups. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was very nice. I will definitely go back.

Visité este café por casualidad. Debo decir que no podía faltar a la comida. El desayuno pequeño era más grande de lo esperado y en £ 8 . 95 era muy buena relación calidad-precio! Mis huevos benedict con tocino estaban muy sabrosos y bien cocinados. El personal era eficiente y educado. Sin duda volveré!

£3.20 and £3.50 for a decaf and herbal tea, most expensive tea I've had in Bristol. Garden area nice until staff member sat down on the table next to us for a smoke.

I love this place. The young boy serves me the lunch every morning with a big smile. Definitely recommend visiting it.

Staff were both rude, didn’t understand English enough to do me the right drink. I asked for a flat white and they gave me a latte. As I am a Barista I explained the difference which neither of them understood and they tried to fill the latte they had given me more. Both staff then gave me attitude ended up walking away with no drink, as they could not understand anything I was saying. I did ask for a refund as they were both rude to me and made it clear they did not understand what I was saying. I visited at 16:40 22/5.

Great food, lovely staff and huge glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice.

The cake was tiny for its price and the coffee was not bad I suppose.

It's really very cheap ingredients at a premium price. Sausages of this quality aren't acceptable in a full English at this price! Staff are helpful

Stopped in for a toastie and a panini with chips with my boyfriend. Great food with lovely friendly personable service. I dont believe the owner was in today - but the staff running the show definately had it sorted perfectly. From the chef to the young lad serving us. The Orange/Lemon - Lemon/Orange cake was absolutely lush. Fantastic little lunch had by us. Cheers all. :)

A good local cafe serving a variety of snacks, light meals, cakes, teas and coffees. Vegetarian options but not much for vegans. Tables indoors and on the pavement, and a clean unisex toilet. Good central location to observe life in Henleaze. Prices reasonable.

Sadly,the serving assistant, didn't understand about hand hygiene and sneezed into his hands and carried on serving, and he looked shocked when I asked him if he was going to wash his hands. The owner( I think) did insist that he go and wash his hands before serving anyone else. One cafe I won't be using again.

Always love going here, definitely recommend the Chicken and Pesto jacket potato!

I wanted to write a review for this cafe in Bristol because I have had a number of visits here now, and every time we're always made welcome (nothing is too much trouble for the staff and they are always polite) the food is consistently excellent. I cannot rate the Veg. Breakfast highly enough. Eggs cooked to perfection and the mixes veg is a lovely touch. top marks for Cafe 96

We had lunch here and the staff were so friendly and accommodating. The food and drinks were great and arrived very quickly. The food they serve was just what we were looking for, paninis, all day breakfast, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and more

It's so friendly and the food is delicious. They now have excellent free WiFi as well.

Nice relaxed and friendly vibe at this place. Decent coffee and hot chocolate, nicely served - cut above Costa. my only gripe was the staff didn't know the Wi-Fi password.

Visiting the area to catch up with a friend who lives in Henleaze. A lovely lunch. I had a tuna panini and my partner had the soup. Both delicious! Really friendly , attentive staff . Highly recommend. Thank you 😀

My friend has been here lots of times and recommended it so we stopped here as we were in the area. You order at the bar and you can either pay then or have a tab if your going to order extra drinks or dessert. It was after the lunch period but still quite busy. Food arrived quickly and was lovely and hot. We both enjoyed and would both visit again.

May gives such a wonderful welcome, and recognised me from when my parents were regulars (many years back now). Great selection of breakfasts & lunches - the baked sweet potato with bacon & mozzarella is a family favourite. Always worth looking at the Specials board too on your way in. Very helpful with tricky dietary needs - they even prepped the kitchen before cutting gluten-free cake to avoid cross-contamination! Great place for family get-togethers or a quiet catch-up with a friend.

Don’t be put off by the outside of this cafe because inside it’s quite something else in Art Deco style , Great menu choice and specials for Xmas, a cheeky glass of vino with lunch is a great addition.

Second visit for us, didn't disappoint, breakfasts are cooked to high standard and good value, friendly efficient service would highly recommend

I ordered a vegetarian panini, and was brought a bacon one which I only discovered after biting into it. The panini was also meant to come with chips but they had run out. There was no apology for either of these things, they wouldn't give me a refund. The staff were rude and dismissive. Overpriced food. Avoid this place - go to condi brasserie down the road - the food is much better and a better price.

First visit and a harsh score I admit, though you will see why. The coffee and food (a cheese and bacon croissant) were good but service was lacking. Though smiley and friendly the staff seemed poorly informed as to how to attend customers. This must be as a result of poor training by the owner/manager and therefore no blame should be laid on the staff. Shame as it is a great location and worthy of more.

This is the only cafe in Henleaze with an outside area - and it is quite pleasant with a large tree next to you. The coffee was fine, and I have only taken off 1 star because the cakes and pastries were uncovered and exactly where people stand to order and pay. Not wanting food that had been breathed and coughed over, I had to give that a miss.

5 stars to this local of mine. Always a kind hospitable way I have found. Bar the very rare normal human imperfections. Today arrived late on and thought as many a cafe, they would likely be ready to shift off and being a bit grumpy that I was near closing time. Not at all...served me at the table outside no fuss to save Covid risks inside. Promptly a lovely lemonade and tops kind service. I have come here over the last 5+ years and I find it very good and would recommend others to try out. The coffee might not be quite so fine as other more specialists coffee cafes of 2020. At times I have found the coffee a little on the poor side. But lovely food and all sorts generally and a nice sunny aspect for most of the day. After first thing. Recommend you might at least try this cafe if you think to try it out...here in Henleaze main road. By the number 2 bus stop opposite Boots.

It’s always good to find and independent amongst the chains. There is a good choice of good and drinks on the menu. The food is freshly prepared and arrived after a short wait

This cafe was once a favourite of mine, but it has changed hands a couple of times. I found it unwelcoming. We had to send back our sausages because they weren’t cooked properly. The tea went cold quickly, so I took it back. When I went to pay, they didn’t have a printed bill, so I asked what I had been charged for. They tried to charge me for two extra pots of tea, but I challenged them, saying that the first pot went cold too quickly! I won’t be rushing back.

Used this on a Tuesday morning for an all day breakfast and it was excellent - great filling breakfast that keeps you going all day and nicely presented Small tables - order at the counter and pay before you leave. Some tables are outside, as long as the weather is nice No 2 bus stops straight outside A table for 4 or 5 is tucked away if you want something a bit more private - a working breakfast Staff are polite an prices are very reasonable

Went in with friends today for lunch, most excellent, we had great food from the specials board (changes daily), there is also an extensive full time menu of jackets, panini’s, sandwich’s with large range of fillings. Really friendly staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.

This cafe continues to offer a very keenly priced lunch menu. For £11.99 you can opt for a drink (beer, wine or non alcoholic), a 'special', a piece of cake and tea or coffee. I opted for a special of a salad with hot chicken and bacon; it was delicious. The cafe opens at 8.30am and the full English breakfast remains on offer throughout the day. This is an opportunity to support a local independent business.

Wide choice of sandwiches and fillings.Amounts of fillings generous. Good choice of drinks, coffee better than some other places including cafes in big stores.

Great Cafe. Just for a coffee or Breakfast, Lunch or a snack.. Its in Henleaze High Street close to the local shops and on the bus route from the City Centre.

Had such a lovely vegetarian breakfast here! Should have taken a photo when it arrived but it looked so good I just tucked in straight away before I even thought about it! The breakfast was a very generous size, not oily at all, and bursting with delicious veg! You could tell even the veggie sausage was freshly made, amazing value at a reasonable price of £6.50, would highly recommend :)

Absolute rubbish. Long waits, mediocre food and terrible coffee

Really shoddy service. Told food would be ready in 15 mins when it actually took 45 mins. When asked where food was waiter kept saying just two more minutes. Jacket potatoe was not even hot when it came out.

Avoid like the plague,useless 50 minutes to cook a panini and a jacket potato the waiter kept telling us the food will be ready in 2 minutes everyone was complaining.didnt even get an apology.

Good food with a wide selection, many specials that change frequently. Prices are very reasonable and good friendly service. Lunchtimes can be very busy as there are a limited number of tables but if you don't mind a wait you can usually get stable within 20 minutes. Tables generally sit two to four people wheelchairs, buggies and highchairs can also be accommodated.
