Visited Monday evening with family.lovely food and friendly staff. The beer garden is a sun trap and best garden in Whitchurch for an after work pint.

Oh dear ! We certainly made a mistake eating here. Lasagne was cold in the middle. Sent back and was returned a luke warm replacement ? The mixed grill was not a nice plate of food. The gammon was a thick, pork chop shaped greyish looking abomination ! Watery, slimy onion was underneath along with the single sausage that tasted of nothing. I did NOT eat the chicken breast. It tasted off. The taste when chicken has been reheated and it takes on an unpleasant flavour . We complained. We also asked the waitress to smell the glasses that our coke was served in. There was a definite "stagnant water" smell. She agreed ! Just a horrible experience ! Please avoid ! You may just ruin your day ! ☹️

We visit here weekly with an elderly parent. The staff are always very welcoming, friendly and attentive. Especially a big thank you to Sinead who is lovely and very efficient. The food is great value, tasty and ample.

We visit here often with our mum, and can't fault the food and drink prices. The food is always cooked well, it's not greasy, and it's great value if you take advantage of the offers. I have Coeliac Disease and I order from the non-gluten containing menu. I've never had a problem, and my meal is clearly marked with an allergen stick. A shout of out Sinead, she's really sweet, and remembers our drinks orders. And she always makes us feel welcome.

Popped into the Whitchurch at lunchtime was with my wife . Didn't wait ,as the young lady sinead serving was very polite we had an excellent meal the young girl was very helpful and very polite. On leaving sinead said hope you enjoyed your meal hope to see you here soon excellent service will definitely recommend it

Called in the Whitchurch tonight have to say tikka tandoori was very good. Would absolutely return. brilliant service kept checking if we needed refills or anything to accompany our meals. Bar service with a smile (Rachel ). Local pub well worth a visit.

A group of 8 ladies ate delicious and most reasonably priced food this evening. Customer service was excellent, one tiny issue resolved efficiently. BOGF offer was a big bonus. Lovely local place.

Went to the whitchurch last night with friends and the food was amazing I honestly can say it was that good we went again tonight with 4 friends had a meal and it was £21 because it was BOGOF and the drinks were the same ... the staff are so friendly and nothing is to much bother really make you feel welcome thank you THE WHITCHURCH be back next week

I can honestly say it was the worst meal we have ever had in a green king pub we asked for steak well done got that rare there was no onion rings available just one for my grandson asked if we wanted anything else I said I will have peppercorn sauce but that was lumpy my husband had about 5 chips had to ask for more my grandson ordered chicken burger with cheese and bacon there was none of that on his burger and to make it worst we had to wait an hour for the food peas were just thrown on the plate not in a little dish as shown all in all it was awful it was that bad that the girl behind the bar never charged us the proper price this pub needs to be looked at by green king as far as service and food is concerned

Even though our group was quite large, there were no delays or issues with the food being served at different times to accommodate everyone. The food itself was outstanding, with a wide variety of delicious options to suit every taste. The children’s menu was especially impressive, offering a great selection of kid-friendly dishes that they all thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, the drinks menu had a great range of options, ensuring that every one of us, from adults to children, had something enjoyable to sip on. Overall, the experience exceeded our expectations, and we left feeling truly satisfied. We will definitely be returning for future gatherings and would highly recommend this venue to others. The pub was decorated beautifully glittering with fairy lights which made it extra special for our Christmas family get together. The food was delicious ( well done to the kitchen staff as there was 21 of us). Children had a fantastic time - we will definitely be returning 😊

Xmas lunch for £17 each comprised of a steak that was very dry with warmed up chips. Two Christmas roasts came with no roast potatoes until we brought it to their attention, got them after meal finished Veg was from frozen and still hard. Will not be going there again, a rip off. Was asked by the owner to email her to discuss, after my above review. Emailed twice and had no response to date.

Our first time at the Whitchurch and we will definitely go back! Very welcoming, a table had been reserved for our party. A lovely way to see everyone without having to do any cooking! Meals were just what we wanted. My Mac n cheese was perfect, others had steaks which were cooked as requested. Looking forward to going back in the summer months!

No roast potatoes on the plate, had to ask why, then given a plate full when our meal was finished. Veg was from frozen and still hard. Steak very dry so was the chips.

Had a great day for Christmas here staff were amazing food was great they catered for 20 of us and all meals were great very good atmosphere and great for the family

Wow so bad I don’t know what to say, the place is disgustingly dirty, no one clears tables or cleans, toilets are mouldy and stink, like they have not been cleaned all year. Food is so bad and takes an hour to arrive when hardly anyone eating. Green king needs to investigate this place it’s getting worse every time we come in and this is now the last.

We had the ultimate feast it eas nice but it could of also contained chips and not a big dish of nachos there was more nachos than anything else

Used to be good. New landlord I think, no staff. Almost 2 hours for food on a Sunday when told it would be 40 mins. Excuse was kitchen is too small, so why offer food? Bizarre and upset local who won’t be back any more.

Only good thing about this pub are the Christmas lights nicely decorated. And the staff were friendly. All food was burn, main courses were very small and overcooked even the stake when asked for rare including the peas! Overcooked! Not to mention waiting 45 mins for that food to come out, not busy at all and very under staffed. Then waiting almost 40 mins for the desserts! Just a chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream! Despicable service overall. Never coming back. Very disappointed. Won't recommend.

Great food. Had mixed grill and my rump steak was cooked to my expectations...thank you Chef. Service was also very good . Being a chef for over 25 years I was shocked how good my food and service was. Please thank the all the Team from me. I will Return again for food now!!!! as I'm local to this area. We had some great food and very efficient service, definitely will return in the future. Wide range of food to choose from.

The pub has a large double car park (free), prices for food and drinks are very reasonable, there is also a small fenced play area for children, probably better suited to children aged 4+ years as well as a sheltered seating area with some grass around the back as well for younger children. It's worth a visit if you happen to be in the local area, has a poole table and fruit machine. Food deals throughout the week as well!

We popped in for a drink with the intention of having a meal. We are fans of Greene King pubs and were looking forward to a pleasant meal reasonably priced. The moment we walked in we knew we wouldn’t be eating in this pub! It is one of the shabbiest pubs I have been in. There was the strangest smell emanating from somewhere and it wasn’t pleasant. The tables were smeared with drink, the floor was sticky and there was a thick layer of filth and grime of the edges of the 1970’s carpet. It looked like a nice pub from the outside but inside? Yuk!

Beat pub in whitchurch, I used to drink here before but management ruined it but since Liam has taken charge its become the best place to drink!

Visited over the weekend with the family, I had a burger it came out nothing like the picture, roll was not the usual ones and the onion bhaji was burnt and not cooked in the middle. service was good and the staff are friendly.

Little bit shabby, food excellent and well presented, coffee was abysmal.

Last 4 weeks been coming here for food with my 2 boys first 2 weeks food was great last 2 the food have been shoking to say the least absolutely disgusting order food and items are missing this evening came for food the lasagne was missing garlic bread and salad and came with chips the waiter spilled it all over my 11 year old son and only said ill replace the chips not sorry not are you OK nothing as you can see in my all American burger was meant to have salad as you can see none of that and look at the state of it my partner had a beef burger look at rhe state of it cut in half and cheesy garlic bread where is the cheese it's clear to say the chef ain't got a clue even a sou chef could cook better than that the standards of this pub have gone right down hill will not be back for food ever disgraceful avoid like the plague all spent over £50 on food and a couple of slushies and even the slushie machine wasn't working correct I even said ill have j2os instead and pay any difference and they totally ignored me took them 10 mins exactly just to do 2 slushies also in the burger have a look on a plate red onion not at all just the skin not onion joke

my 5 year old son topher ordered a cheeseburger but sadly it came with bacon and my wonderful son is allergic to bacon and i dont know why they put bacon in it aspecialy after we said WE DONT WANT BACON the waitres came to our table with a big devious smile and said this burger has no bacon. our cheesburger came with no cheese even though its a CHEESEburger after we requested cheese the waitres came over and took the cheese with her bare hands and slapped on and then smushed it in with her greasy hands.my son now hash a terrible rash from the bacon and is verry upset i dont recommend this place and the prices are over the roof
