Lovely waiter ,Marcus, came with the drinks every 5 mins, service was absolutely amazonng and hospitality was 100/10!!!!! 10/10 recommend this place 👍🏼

Been to this place numerous times always had a good experience however staff who were working last night were unprofessional towards a customer through a mix up of who was next to be severed the gentlemen in question raised his voice as was needed due to music and people talking to state he was next to be served another member of staff decided to respond arrogantly and antagonistic whether or not the individual will admit that they definitely did the gentlemen stated what else am I supposed to say to gain someone’s attention, basically passed after decided this was funny and laughed about it and the gentleman left A minor incident, but I noticed this from the background very unprofessionally handled Hey thanks for the response unfortunately what you’ve stated is completely false Your member of staff did not apologise nor did they ask the crowd who was next to be served The actual response to the individual was “I’ve only just got down here “ And you claimed joival response was not what you’ve stated What you actually said was “calm down mate “ in a mildly antagonistic way by laughing / smirking and shaking your. Appreciate the response it’s quite worrying that you’re a manager and you’ve actually seemingly fabricated things here just for context i was actually one of the group of lads next to the two individuals. My job is review writing. Amongst other things

This is one of my favourite spots for watching rugby matches, especially for Six Nations. The ancient is great, fun and respectful. Just book a time with time, it is very popular! The spot is so convenient and connected in Gloucester Rd.

Friday the 13 December bloody freezing no heating you need to look after your punters. The bar staff had a heater on the bar to keep tham warm wot about us punters

The Cider Press has a lively atmosphere, especially on weekends. The large screens show live sports, making it a great place to catch a game with friends. The outdoor seating area is perfect for enjoying a sunny day.

Over £6 for a pint is a bit steep. Toilets were out of order so just 1 disabled toilet in use downstairs. Large place with long bar. A bit of a spit and saw dust vibe with Benchs and no carpet

Idk if it was because of Halloween but it was not very clean, the floor was very sticky and they served my pint in a plastic cup

The man in double denim (I know right in 2024 out of fashion) shouted at our group to get out of the way. Double denim or not you should have respect for the people paying your wages. Do better.

I think this a fantastic pub, I want on Monday and found out there was a deal for Moretti Mondays so the drinks were really good value. Also there were plenty of pool tables, darts board and a nice outdoor seating area. One of the best value places on Gloucester road I think.

Absolute joke of an establishment. Never written a negative review before, but this one is necessary. Went in with 2 friends just now and ordered on the app (the qr code is on the back of the drinks menu). After about half an hour we hadn't received even our drinks so a friend went up to ask for them. Apparently the app is not linked to the pub (despite being on the back of their menu???) and the ordered food and drinks do not exist. After speaking to the manager, they wouldn't refund as it's an "external issue". Literally a scam and genuinely shocking. You owe us £23 :D Also no toilet paper in ANY of the cubicles in the bathroom and I have endometriosis so that kinda sucked guys.

It was good; the landlord was very helpful and engaging enough to express how a deal of a draught beer didn’t leave much profit. Music was a little grainy.

It's always Nice to go in there for a Drink 🍸 or two with A few Friends of Mine who likes in there as well.

Visited on a Saturday evening to meet some friends around 7pm not many bar staff around so waited a little while to get served. My first choice of drink thatchers gold a medium cider thy didn't have so i had a Inches cider which was a adequate replacement at £5.40 a pint which is about average price on Gloucester Rd was quite nice and I had another service was friendly and helpful. My friends that arrived after me couldn't get their first choice of drinks one of Blackthorn cider ended up with a Lily's cider at a whopping price of £6.90 a pint which is quite steep but he enjoyed. Early and not many people at the cider press so maybe busier later but we moved on to another local pub.

What a find a special lunch menu for £6,at the Cider Press,Gloucester Road, Bristol,running between Monday and Friday 12 noon till 4,I had a great burger with skin on frien which were out of this world,a a large glass of iced Coke/Cola,Harvey the barman looked after me,excellent service and so polite a credit to the business,highly recommended you can't get better than this

Lovely and affordable. Wing Wednesday served me and my friend very well. Satisfaction is a word used all too frequently, but this place owns the right to serve, define and bask in the dimension of human service.

Visited here recently for bottomless brunch and its the best brunch ive ever been too! The guy behind the bar was really friendly and nice. The food is amazing and the drink options are so varied and the cocktails are really tasty! Its nice to see that an actual meal is included rather than other places skimping on tiny snacks where you end up starving after it. I will be visiting here again!! Great value for money. Great place.

My friends and I were celebrating a birthday party, and we were in jolly spirits in the early evening in Bristol. It was my transgender friend’s birthday and they approached the bouncer with a friendly smile, hoping to enjoy the atmosphere that seemed decent from the outside. He remarked that “he” wasn’t allowed in as there was too many men in the group. My transgender friend felt very offended by this statement as it not only misgendered by also discriminated against us as a group. Unless you have female genitalia, I would not suggest visiting this establishment as you may be denied for having XY chromosomes.

Lovely place with a wife range of quality ciders. Especially flavours of lilly cider. Food was tasty and came out fast. A little dark inside for lunch, and some of the chairs had seen better days.

Quality place with lovely staff and great pints

We booked at table for the rugby final and half way through a play they switched it to football! They wouldn't turn it back because they needed 2 screens with football, even though there were other screens in the pub with people no one watching them. Can't hear or read the commentary. Kitchen was closed. All beers we tried tasted metallic. This is no pub to go to enjoy sport, only stayed because of my mates.

Lovley staff, very attentive and kind but we came down for the DJ and he wasn’t here !! So Disappointing it’s the main reason students come to this pub so bring him back.
