Great Chinese food was excellent best we have had in a long time

Tasty and fresh. The only Chinese in the area that have stir-fried squid.

Always on time and the food is always hot when delivered and fresh,we have tryed lots on the menu and always lovely food best Chinese yet .

The banana fritter and the prawn crackers were good. The sweet and sour pork Hong Kong style was terrible - a strong vermillion colour and stale taste - just not fresh seemed to have been prepared hours/days in advance, colour and taste were off putting. 1/4 of aromatic duck so-so with chunky slices of cucumber. Waited 20+ minutes, no interaction or update. VERY DISAPPOINTING food. I am surprised at other good reviews, perhaps other people are reviewing the other Chan i.e. Chan's Chow on Kellaway Avenue and choosing the wrong address for their review! I will have to try Chan's Chow to see if they are the good takeaway!

The staff are so lovely and friendly. We just had the nicest Chinese takeaway, all the ingredients were clearly fresh. Absolutely delicious

The special fried rice here is superb. It's the only dish we get so can't comment on anything else.

Have ordered many take aways for myself and all of my family for many years and have never once had to complain. The service is great and the staff always cheerful and the place looks really clean. Would not go anywhere else uncles they are closed.

Nice rice and chips but the main dishes were really bad. Crispy chilli chicken had like a spicy cheap ketchup and the duck dish had a really nasty taste and barely any sauce. Got a pot of satay sauce too which was bland with no peanut taste. Really disappointed so we'll go back to our usual, Golden Gate on the high street.

Such a nice Chinese Have been here a few times now and will definitely be back for more. Travelled from yate to come to here. Food was so nice, is worth the travel. This is probably the worse Chinese we have had in 20 + years living in Bristol. Having just moved to the area we thought we would try to support local businesses - in this case an experience best forgotten. The food was lukewarm some clearly microwaved but not for long enough and within 8 hours the results were clearly evident. Avoid.

Unlike other Chinese where everything tends to be greasy you don't come away feeling bloated. Really good prices and great food. Lovely waiting area too, few magazines to read. Would recommend ordering ahead as they get very busy!

Brilliant food and great delivery service. But can’t believe that they’re closed on 1st February (Chinese New Year). Maybe they’re in Hong Kong or wherever to celebrate the Year of the Tiger!

Was looking forward to this Chinese even though there were mixed reviews, I was charged for delivery even though I was on the next street, couldn’t leave the house otherwise would have collected, was really put off with the chicken balls greasy and some were burnt , the sweet and sour sauce was by far the worst I’ve tasted and being quite a traveler have tasted a few. The chips were bland and tasteless as was the egg fried rice, I was great full it was bin day because that’s where the majority went. I’m afraid I for one won’t be going back.

We asked for what the owners recommend and it was fantastic. The portions were brilliant, very flavoursome with great balance. The meat was beautifully tender and the crispy kale was stunning. We had beef black bean, dry ribs, king prawn, noodle soup, crispy kale among other bits and bobs. Honestly the best chinese I've had in a long time! Thank you Chan's!

Chan’s delivered our food promptly as ever. The driver was considerate and stepped well away from the house at a safe distance in compliance with current government advice. We started with our duck which was crispy and delicious. Our main of beef in black been with fried rice was deliciously tasty and spicy. The vegetable chow mien was also packed with flavour-portions were generous and we couldn’t finish our meal. Thank you Chans for making our first Saturday in lockdown a little bit more of a treat. Will most certainly order again!

Fatty battered pork balls, chicken satay and chicken cashew tasted the same, smelled weird and contained way too many bamboo shoots. Meat in salt & pepper chicken very dry. Gelatinous, acidic sweet and sour sauce. Chicken balls and mini spring rolls were nice and rice and noodles were fine. Lots of food went in the bin. We love oriental food but won’t be ordering from here again - waste of money.

Split decision in our house: two of us were fairly disappointed, one thought it was OK (king prawn satay in particular) - so could come down to what we chose from the menu. Hence lukewarm review!

Loathed to write a bad review as I’m usually more inclined to not make a big deal of things. I work in a customer facing capacity and hate ppl who make complaints or bad reviews over nothing just because they can. Tonight I simply cannot do it, I ordered six month ago from Chan’s, meal was so bad I threw it away. Thought I’d give them another try tonight as a change to the other Chineses local to me via JE, threw 75% of it away. Staff are lovely, food not so much. I’m really surprised because the reviews rank this takeaway highly and they’re on the expensive end of my postcode’s catchment on JE. As with last time, omelette was burnt and really greasy, my Chicken Satay’s sauce was very much on the watery side and my Chicken Cantonese was literally six thin slices of chicken, a tiny garnish of Cantonese sauce an 85% bean sprouts. As I said above, I’m loathed to write bad reviews as I’m more inclined to say “well it’s not really a big issue it’s just one bad order” however, In the last three years I’ve only had to throw away a bad takeaway on 3 occasions, two of those three came from Chan’s. Sorry guys, couldn’t let it slide tonight. Just angry that I paid over the odds of my regulars, to be left hungry a second time after paying £18 to order for myself. Big fat thumbs down I’m afraid, definitely my last order with Chan’s.

The best Chinese take away ever

On the basis of reviews given, we thought we'd give this a try. Whilst the food was hot and good sized portions, it tasted terrible. The szechwan chicken was a combination of sweet and sour, pepper, pineapple and cashew nuts. The squid with ginger and spring onion was rubbery and stank of a public toilet. The chow mein tasted as if the same oil had been used over and over and over again. The beef in black bean sauce was poor quality meat which was impossible to chew. The chilli beef was the same. We won't be ordering from here again!

Ordered at 8pm. Told it would be here by 9pm, changed to 9.15pm. My food didnt turn up until 9.45pm and had items missing. They did re deliver my missing items but not the point. Food was ok i suppose however i wouldnt recommend. Egg fried rice was more like plain rice with bits of egg chucked in. Really disappointed

Awful everything tasted of soy sauce it's as if the chef dropped the whole bottle into everything fried rice chow main and beef in black bean just pure soy sauce no other taste was awful

Delivered on time but apart from the chips ordered for children - the entire Chinese meal ( spring rolls,mini spring rolls,chicken balls,special chow mein,chicken and mushroom,egg fried rice and a plain chow mein) - was absolutely disgusting and thrown away! Tasted absolutely vile, didn't look great and a strange chemical smell on the chow mein! Ordered as a celebratory treat...really wish I hadn't bothered as it spoilt the night instead!

Vegetable spring rolls were sparse if filling, oily, and just fairly unpleasant. The chips were warm and dry, not hot and fresh. The sweet and sower was spot on though. Doubtful I'll order from again.

The special chow main was tasteless, prawn crackers were over cooked! The salt & chilli ribs weren't too bad the chips was the best bit of the meal. On a positive note the food arrived 5mins before the estimated time. I don't think I will order from here again-not worth the money!

The food was very oily and the restaurant did not read my notes for a spicy szechuan chilli chicken as I ended up with nothing more than sweet and sour chicken and vegetables. Very disappointed.

Crispy pork/chicken has a really gross sauce, wouldn't eat it again and mostly ended up in the bin. Noodles were fine, ribs were ok.

As good as we remember it being. Moved out of their delivery area a year ago and have missed having such an efficient gluten free takeaway option.

These guys don't seem to do vegan very well. Won't be returning. Peking Plum (just the other end of Henleaze) make their own tofu, for heaven's sake!
