They recently switched to a cart noodles restaurant, which is one of the HK style cuisine. I think it tastes really nice and they also have a wide range of selection of toppings too! One of my fav toppings is chinese spiced pig intestines, and also the duck blood! Love the broth as well with satay! HK style iced lemon tea is my fav drink!

I was so grumpy eating here. Yes it's a street food cafe, but service was terrible and cash only. Self order on a piece of paper then pay at the til. Food itself was fresh and really good, but try eating a soup with the chopsticks and wooden cutlery. Messy. I just need to learn how to shovel noodles from the bowl and slurp. I just left stressed and splashed! But I would go there again for their dim sum food.

This restaurant is using spaghetti instead of noodles. I’m all for Asian infusion, but this is ridiculous, particularly when the menu says vermicelli noodles. at £45 for three main courses for three people why do they need to rip people off? Also they only take cash. HMRC should take a good look at them.

I’ve lived in Hong Kong for decades. I had a dish of roast pork (siu yuk) n roast duck rice at saikung cafe for £12, n was pleasantly surprised to find it so tasty. The portions of meat were generous, the crackling was crunchy n juicy, n the duck flavourful. Often in Hk I don’t get this standard!

I wanted to ordered half of the duck and I experienced one of the worse customer service which I ever had in Bristol. You can only pay by cash or by bank transfer. A bit odd but that's alright. I had no card so I could only chosen the bank transfer. The older lady (short black hair) was very rude and passive aggressive for no reason. She looked like she was pushed to work there and she wanted to escape from the restaurant in any second. When I asked her if they have one of the option from the menu, she responded with very frustrated tone "No, we don't have". When I asked if there is a minimal value of the take-away order, she also responded in the way that she was annoyed I am there as a customer. When I've done the money transfer I shown her my phone, she took her own, took a picture of mine and started explaining she need to do this for the evidence. I was so confused. What evidence? For what? Why you are taking picture of my phone with bank details at the same just time start explaining what are you doing? Is the receipt not enough for you? Maybe if you will have a proper contactless payment by card will be easier for you and less problematic for customers? Incredible awkward moment and if not the bank transfer, I will cancel my order but at this point it was already too late. I needed to go out to buy other things and when I came back after 10 minutes I've got my duck. The duck was alright. Nothing more than this. Kind of wasted £10 and it was definitely not worth for this quality of the service. Please train your staff and give some advice on how to have a minimal level of professionalism.

Sorry, I really can't recommend this. I ordered the 3 roast meat soup. The broth was lacking in depth of flavour and no taste. The noodles low quality. The meats were good but overall disappointing. The dish arrived almost as soon as ordered. Card only or bank transfer is annoying. Half empty restaurant which might be a bit busier if you take card. Customers coming in also surprised and annoyed. Incredibly authentic and delicious and very reasonably priced. I would’ve given 5 stars but we had a vegetarian friend with us and the only veggie savoury option of about 100 dishes was egg rolls - that’s really not great for a Bristol based restaurant. Whilst walking to the Bristol Museum via Park Street, we spotted some Chinese pastries in the hot display so we stopped by for some snack / desserts after visiting the museum. My dad was more intrigued with the name of the cafe as my parents are from Sai Kung. You order at the counter and it's cash only. We ordered egg tarts (蛋撻), char siu pastry (叉燒酥), mango pudding (芒果布甸) and mango sago pudding (楊枝甘露). I've forgotten what's the individual price but it was £19.40 for the four items. Reasonable price. The best points were the flavours and the portion size. We enjoyed the pastries that seemed like they were just out fresh from the oven. Hot, crispy, not too sweet and plentiful of meat filling (for the char siu pastry). Same for the pudding; not too sweet and decent portion size. They were pre-made and stored in a tub in the fridge. Definitely would stop by again when we visit Bristol in the future.

I went today for a quick lunch, and sadly was told that EVERYTHING is cooked in peanut oil so, having a nut allergy, NOTHING at all in the entire restaurant was suitable for me to eat (including the dumplings…many of which may well be cooked from frozen, and steamed rather than fried….?). I asked that perhaps it’s not cooked *in* the oil but there could be contamination/traces, in which case the food should be fine for me to eat? but no, I was assured that EVERYTHING Is cooked directly in peanut oil so I can’t eat a single thing. I wonder if there was some misunderstanding due to the language, overzealous caution and fear from the owners’ side of a customer reaction, or are they simply just not catering or considerate of customers with allergies? Sadly I had to walk out hungry and unable to eat a single thing on the menu after what I was told. It just struck me as bizarre and not aligned with the times at all; there must be thousands of potential customers this restaurant is turning away on a weekly basis? Don’t get it. I would like to give the owners the benefit of the doubt here but to be honest it felt hugely disappointing and also exclusionary to be told that there was *NOTHING* I could eat because everything is cooked in nut oil. Why can’t you cook with vegetable oil and then also allow many more people to enjoy your food, or offer better care in the kitchen and training to customer-facing staff on what dishes don’t directly contain nuts? You could also even just change the oil for some dishes, or add labelling to the menu.

It’s good! I would happily return. I sat in and had the two roast & rice option; roast belly pork and roast duck. Both were pretty good. I would put it close to par to what you would get served in a cafe in Hong Kong. The servings size was a decent amount of each roast. Rice was good, the soy sauce was really good, slight sweetness to the soy and some of the meat juices added to the sauce to give it a nice savoury flavour. Also, came with plum sauce for the roast duck which was pretty decent too. Service was friendly and premises looked clean. I also ordered the Xiaolongbao which was ok. It wasn’t brilliant but it wasn’t bad either. The roasts would be the reason to return!

Never expected to find a small restaurant like this serving lots of Cantonese style food and bubble tea.The menu for assorted steamed buns was extensive with plenty of options for vegetarians, although the standard menu at this branch were not actually available. I ordered a Salted Egg Yolk Lava Bun, which is a personal favourite, plus a Honeydew Melon Bubble Tea. There’s nothing quite like biting into a freshly steamed bun and having the egg yolk filling soak into the bun. That was delicious. The bubble tea was okay, lots of Honeydew flavour, but not much tea taste. Would definitely try again when in Bristol. The only reason I dinged a star was the average bubble tea, so if you're not fussy about that, then this place is 5 star.

I was excited to try this place from the many raving reviews, and just my general mission to find good HK style food here. Overall: food ok, but nothing to call home about. Service was excellent - friendly and fast - and the presentation for takeaway was good. Roast duck: I got a half roast duck to see how they cut it and the condition of different cuts. Overall, I found it quite disappointing. The skin was oily and soggy, and even though I went at around 7:15pm so I can give it some slack, I've had reheated Hong Kong style roast duck with a better (hint of) crisp. It was also served with some sort of soy sauce, and not plum sauce which I was surprised about. Plum sauce would have helped offset the saltiness. Meat texture was pretty ok. Some pieces were chewier than others, but acceptable. I wouldn't describe it as tender though. I'd like to find out when they bring out the roasts so I can try it fresh. Custard bun: ok. Custard was pretty good, though could be slightly richer. Bun was good, just a bit stodgy/sticky, but still pretty good. I think I'd buy it again regardless.

We were lucky to catch the 50% off promotion at Sai Kung Cafe. It's been on my hit list for a while and we went all out! Hainanese chicken rice, three roasties rice and some sushi. Their service was good despite the queues. And they replenish food throughout the day - we timed it just right. Onto the food, I'll start off with the pros. The three roasties was good value with a decent portion size. Comes with the classic sweet sauce. Roast pork was crispy and flavoured beautifully. I'm not crazy about char siu but theirs was decent. However, the duck was mostly skin and not much meat. They could be more generous with the pak choi as well. Hainanese chicken rice was okay, I've had better in Bristol. Again the cut of chicken wasn't amazing and the sauce is a bit of a letdown. I did enjoy the rice though. Sushi is best avoided. The sushi rice is bland and barely kept together. The fish was not very fresh but what can I expect from this kind of establishment. Overall, it was a good cheap meal. I would still go back to try their breakfast items.

The past couple of times the food has been of poor quality and taste which is such a shame as was always our go to Chinese. The chips tonight were like they had been reheated over and over. All meals were cold. It kept stating reminders that they were finding a driver so updating the time. My assumption is the food was ready long before the driver...sorryyy but has put us off now 😥

Rude service. Requested sweet and sour sauce for spring rolls and aggressively responded to say they don’t give sauce with spring rolls. Anyway, I ate half a spring roll on their premises…. which tasted absolutely awful… of OLD OIL, COMPLETELY saturated in oil that’s been over-used!!! I didn’t even know if I was meant to chew or swallow … as in swallowing a DRINK!! maybe a good thing I didn’t get the sauce to disguise the FOOD POISONING I was gifted with!! No point in explaining to people who are highly defensive on such a small level about providing condiments (hey I was ok to pay for it as an “extra”.)… if you can’t even get the basics right on customer service.. there’s no point in even having a conversation on food poisoning that took me out of work for 2 days!!!
