I didn't go in for food and wasn't in there long enough to soak up the atmosphere, which is why I've not given all 5 stars. However, what I did see was a very popular pub, nice outdoor space inc heating and nice wine 😉

A light and airy pub with efficient staff and service. The menu caters for all tastes and preferences. Worthy of note is the extremely tasty fish and chips. Lightly battered fish and chunky chips served with delicious mushy peas, infused with garlic, and tasty tartare sauce. This, with a glass of French provençale rosé, and I was set for the day. This dish is award winning! I’ll be back for more …

Lovely pub! Such a nice building, rustic shabby chic styling with plenty of space to sit and lots of nice large tables. Staff very friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, I was a bit nervous after seeing reviews, but everything was delicious, home made and fresh! Polenta chips to start were fab. Then we had the fish and chips, with delicious homemade tartare sauce! They do a smaller portion at a reduced price which is very much appreciated, the whole menu was reasonably priced. We'll be back! If I had to pick one negative, the place is a little dirty, I understand the shabby chic vibe, but things like windows and lampshades are very dirty and dusty.

Used to come to the Westbury Park Pub most weeks for a meal. We came back again for the first time in over a year and were so so disappointed. The quality of the food has gone downhill significantly. We had a veggie burger where the halloumi had been so over cooked it was rock hard and a normal “Westbury Park Burger” which was very very dry. All of the additional touches they used to add to the food to make it feel special have been stripped away. It seems like they don’t have a chef anymore just a cook who chucks pre-bought items into a fryer. We will still go to the pub for a drink but will not eat there again. Such a shame. To add to my comment in response to the owner... during and after our meal no member of staff checked with us to ask how our food was, neither did the server who cleared the plates as we were leaving after our meal. We ate with you on Thursday 20 June at one of the outside booths...

The Westbury used to do a pretty good burger. Not now. Looked like two cheap thin supermarket burger patties instead of the likely homemade burger previously. And the side salad has gone too. I noted to a staff member that the burgers weren't as good as they used to be - Apparently this is a common comment. Wish I'd read the previous review about the burgers before going there and ordering. Just very very disappointing.

In a word disappointing. The venison loin was tough and overcooked, smothered in an overpowering pesto style sauce and was barely edible. Not what you would expect at £22, with potatoes an extra. To be fair my partner had perfectly acceptable fish and chips at £16. I sort of knew when I ordered venison in a pub it was a mistake but the other choices forced my hand. For pudding we had creme brûlée served with blackcurrant sorbet. For a pub hard to complain but overly sweet, made worse by the sickly sorbet. It was supposed to be served with shortbread biscuit but all we got was some crumbs of something that might or might not have been shortbread at one time. Not a pub that I would return to for food. I think they may do better cooking the sort of food that is hard to go wrong with: like pies;ham egg and chips…..

Came on a Sunday evening for family pizzas. Food was great, the venue is lovely, one of our favourite places to walk to. Most of the staff were nice and friendly, but one guy (in a ‘butter’ T-shirt) was so miserable! Felt like he was annoyed every time I went to the bar. Didn’t speak, didn’t respond, just threw drinks at us. That said love it and pizzas are soooooo good. Defo coming back

We went for a family dinner; it is one of our local pubs and we had previously enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch there. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere warm. All three of us had their burger and all agreed that they were really terrible; tough, flavourless and despite being very hungry none of us finished them (in fact we went across the road to Waitrose for a sandwich).

Unwelcoming hostile Sunday staff. Agree entirely with the sentiment of others in this regard. Seems to be a Sunday thing from what I can tell. The same 2 or 3 staff. One negative Sunday review could be put down to a one off / a bad day but there’s a pattern emerging which probably shouldn’t be ignored . I now visit other local pubs like the Port of Call with its consistently warm welcome. A better roast dinner too with unlimited veggies. The family love it. The Cambridge is likewise a far better bet.

My husband and I had dinner today. We ordered Lamb chop and Beef Burger. I had two severe disappointments - 1) The lamb chop looked pink/red and when I used knife it looked oozing reddish liquid. I had a chat with waitress and she was kind and offered me to get it checked with the cook. The food was improved and served to me again. As a compensation the server said the dessert is on them as we were unhappy at first instance. At the end of the meal, we decided to not have dessert. We went to the counter and thanked the waitress for her thoughts and we walked out. 2) Sadly, the waitress ran to us after 5 minutes we crossed the road and we're standing at bus stop, she was checking if we have paid. And insisted on seeing the payment made. I absolutely understand it's the responsibility of the person to do it. But there was no thought given to check on there system before approaching a customer. It was embarrassing for us both to be followed, approached and questioned in this manner. It's sad how we are made to feel.

I came in today, about 2 o’ clock. Fairly empty in the pub so easy to find a table. I walk up to the bar. 2-3 bar staff. One looked at me but no acknowledgment and then walked away as if she didn’t want to be there. She went around the corner with the other bar tender. Waited a few minutes, nothing happening. Zero service. Doesn’t ‘bartender’ mean to tend to the bar? Another customer comes up to the bar, waits, again, it’s not even remotely busy at this time. Then the disinterested bar tender comes back and serves him first without any acknowledgment of me! Okay, I get it. Five minutes have passed now. This is when I walk out because it’s not the first time this has happened here. Your bar staff are so poorly trained and bad at their jobs! If this review gets a response, I’m sure it will be the usual ‘copy and paste’ variety of ‘oh please contact us again so we can talk more, this doesn’t usually happen blah blah’. Forget it. Why don’t you just be honest and admit your bar staff are not up to standard and maybe could at least be interested in the customer.

It's hard to find anything specifically wrong with the lunch and with a bit more thought and care it could be really good. The beef is expensive and I really was hoping for meat that was tender and tasty. I felt, rightly or wrongly, that it had been reheated and although it had a good flavour it was chewy and dried out. The Yorkshire pudding is enormous and very dry. Good vegetables, especially the cauliflower cheese but the carrots and parsnips could have done with a bit more cooking. Overall I didn't feel it was value for money. Good service.

I recently visited Westbury Park Pub and Kitchen with a friend. While the initial ambiance seemed promising, the overall experience left much to be desired. Firstly, we were surprised and disappointed to witness the staff beginning to close down the pub while we were still dining at 9:30 PM, well before the advertised closing time of midnight. This made us feel rushed and unwelcome, and it significantly affected our enjoyment of the evening. Not only did the staff start mopping tables, turning off the lights and putting chairs on top of tables, but they also approached our table multiple times to take our plates away while we were in the middle of conversations and enjoying a break from eating. This felt intrusive and disrupted the relaxed atmosphere we had hoped for. Furthermore, cleaning the tables and bar and emptying the water jars while there were still guests present was quite off-putting. It created a sense of urgency and discomfort, as if we were an inconvenience to the staff rather than valued customers. The contrast between the advertised closing time and the premature closure was disappointing and misleading. It is essential for a business to uphold its published hours to ensure customers can fully enjoy their experience. Overall, the premature closing and the staff's actions made our visit very unwelcoming and rude. I sincerely hope that management takes these concerns seriously and considers the impact it can have on their patrons. Improving the closing procedures and providing a more welcoming atmosphere will go a long way in ensuring positive customer experiences.

Been coming to this pub for years as it’s my local. But the past year or so it’s really gone downhill on the food. Portion sizes are now tiny for what they are priced at, menu choices are minimal, food quality much poorer. Food used to be banging. Also why can they only do pizzas on one day a week (Sunday)? Literally have 5 options on a normal Friday night to choose from their main course section (excluding burgers). Used to have a mussel dish on their menu which I loved and the waiters even said it was a favourite, but now that’s gone from their menu. Also came recently to try their Sunday roast and was not impressed either: roast potatoes came cold on my plate, meat was average. Tonight I had the hake pasta dish with the TINIEST portion of fish ever, think a normal salmon fillet from the supermarket size and cut it in 1/3. Not sure whether they’re trying to save money by doing so few dishes with such small portions and lower quality with cheaper ingredients… but come on, please bring the old westbury back and get your food back to banging!

Nice decor and layout with plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. What it may lack in the 'local everyone-knows-everyone' vibe it certainly makes up for in quality.

I'm afraid that we found this Sunday lunch to be very overpriced. Over £20 per main course of roast beef which came with so much fat around it that it was quite off putting, the potatoes were tasteless and the yorkshire pudding was huge but greasy , one dish of vedg for four people was rather stingy . I'm sorry to say I've had so much better for far less .

Had the most amazing Sunday lunch here last weekend. We were a big group of 16 but the kitchen and staff coped with us all wonderfully. Service was efficient and friendly. The food was absolutely delicious. I had the roast beef which still makes my...

Nice friendly pub. The fish and chips greatly enjoyed by three hungry lads from London. The beer was in good condition my friend says. Loos in pristine condition.

Booked it late. Arrived early with no issues. Ordered and got good food and drank great Craft beers. Cannot ask for more.

Hands down - this was one of the best Sunday Roasts we’ve had in years. The food quality was great - I had beef but the chicken looked just as good. Enormous Yorkshire Puddings, great gravy and they were happy to give us extra veg.

Just the best Sunday roast for years. Great selection of drinks and efficient friendly service. We'll definitely be back. Recommended without hesitation. 2nd visit now and the standard hasn't dropped. Well done to all the staff.

Yeah, this place is quite poor. Once, I couldn’t have a cup of tea with a breakfast, because they were out of teabags! Honestly. There is a shop opposite. There is always something missing, or not qui

Great selection of beer and ciders, not been here in about 3 years as I moved away from Bristol, but I'm glad it's just as good as I remembered. Had the sharing nachos, all of the individual componen
