We were met by a very abrupt waitress who made us sit on a table for two, which had other occupied tables located very close to either side of us. There were several other empty tables where we could have sat without invading the existing customers privacy. We did not feel any of the staff were particularly friendly, the food was very over priced, and we took a very dim view of the waitress opening the front door and allowing the cold air into the restaurant on what was a very cold wet day outside. This made most customers feel very uncomfortable. We felt it was like they were saying, “we have had your money, so the quicker you leave now the better”. One customer got up and closed the door, and the waitress immediately went up to the front of the shop and opened the window. For how rudely we were treated, it’s a wonder they had any customers at all. We will not be going back !

I ordered a tuna melt with no mayo on white. Very disappointed, cheap bread, very little filling not good value for money. My wife's sandwich was better . Tired decor , could be better.

Friends and 1 went to the Kondi on 7th November 2022. After ordering soft drinks I ordered jacket potato with smoked slmon and salad. I found a piece of plastic in my potato 2 and a half cms. x half a cm. I told the lady behind the till who said she would 'let them know'. However, I didn't get an apology. The potato wasn't very nice and my friend said her salad leaves were gritty. We then had coffees. Despite the fact we were there for just over two hours, our dirty plates were not cleared away. I haven't been to the Kondi for a long time and sadly I won't being going back.

Went for lunch with friends visiting from out of town. Ordered 3 beers, but they only had one! One starter ordered, which was served together with the mains.

came for tea and cake. Took absolutely ages once we had placed the ordder, beginning to think they were making the cake. Sadly the cake when it arrived was quite dry. Tea was very good though.

Came in on a whim remembering lazy weekend mornings here before the pandemic. So glad to say nothing has changed, staff are really helpful, happy and flexible when we wanted to slightly change a breakfast. Definitely coming back again & again!!! Thank you so much for bringing some normality back to the world in henleaze!!

Just had a take away from Kondi , absolutely amazing , possibly one of the best I’ve ever had , Italian meatballs in a great rich tomato sauce with focaccia bread and a mozzarella salad , followed by a fantastic king prawn , mussel and white fish risotto , this was for two people and under £40 . Well worth the 18 mile round trip , would recommend to all .

Really dreadful sausage & mushroom sandwich & mediocre coffee. My sister had an equally dreadful bacon sandwich. I don’t mind cheap sausages but these were not just cheap & nasty, they didn’t fit the bread - if you’re going to offer sourdough the filling needs to match it. Additionally, served with possibly the worst tomato ketchup I have ever tasted. Managed one star as the waitress was super. Will vote with our feet.

Came with my husband for lunch as read all the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Good choice of English and Italian dishes, it was jam packed and not a spare seat with people being turned away. Shows they know their stuff and food. There is also a specials board which we ordered from which was pasta of course orecchiette with a lovely sauce, didn't have to wait long and had a nice latte coffee and coke. Amazing flavour, just like my mum used to make. The cakes on display looked pretty special but had to rush to work so didn't have time to order dessert. Good location on the main Henleaze Road, like to try the breakfast next time

Mi hermana hermana Hace poco encontré esta brasserie mientras nos reuníamos en Henleaze. Tuvimos brunch en ambas ocasiones, ¡encantador! Pero presento esta reverencia porque mi hermana recientemente visitó Henleaze con amigos, uno de los cuales de repente se sintió bastante mal y se sentó en una silla fuera de la brasserie. La respuesta de un miembro del personal, un caballero, fue muy inmediata y muy útil y oportuna. A really good value lunch with quality food. We had pizza with thick delicious toppings, chicken/ bacon salad with chips and the avocado salad. All well prepared and presented. Very yummy!! Super value for money 💰

My partner and I have enjoyed several good breakfasts and meals from the Specials board at the Kondi. There, we were shocked at the poor standard of the spaghetti bolognaise which I ordered from the main menu. It was simply mince with spaghetti! It was grey in colour and lacked flavour...no herbs, tomatoes, onion and any kind of sauce. Maybe the chef was on a break or they had run out of the ingredients!!

Second visit in 10 days to Kondi today, with family. We’re all a little quirky with our food habits, but the menu here ticks all the boxes. Superb vegetarian full English, and happy to switch the eggs out for me, which I don’t eat. Lovely hot chocolate too, will be back again in another 10 days for a birthday pizza lunch. Service is spot on and the food arrives piping hot, in no time, despite being cooked to order. It says a lot that we drive 40 mins for this treat!

We live very nearby in Henleaze and Kondi never fails to disappoint. The coffee is excellent - and gives all the chain coffee shops nearby a run for their money. We don't often eat there for a meal, but when we do, it is always excellent. Good value for money and delicious food. Breakfast is also very good.

Very nice lunch, there were six of us with a baby in a little carrier for a family gathering, and the owners were very attentive, reserved us a table to accommodate us all. We weren’t rushed, were able to order the food at the counter when ready, and all served nicely and within a short timescale. Were able to relax over coffee and cake after, a very nice experience and reasonable price. Made the occasion special for us. The highlight for one of the diners was that they were able to serve a cup of tea with a real lemon slice.

We popped in and were greeted by very pleasant staff in a well attended venue with customers chatting and enjoying the atmosphere. The Espresso and mocha were of a high standard as were the almond croissant and Stollen. We'll come again.

Really excellent birthday brunch with my family. They were so welcoming and our table, which we reserved, had been arranged so the pushchair would fit for my 3 month old grandson. The food was delicious and being Italian they had a superb range of coffee. Service was so friendly and altogether a great experience. Will certainly go back when visiting my family in Bristol.

Almorcé con mi esposa aquí en un día laborable. Mi lasaña vegetariana era rica y cursi, que me gustó. Mi esposa pidió un sándwich de queso de cabra, pero no podía probar ningún queso de cabra, sabía más como ricota, que es decepcionantemente soso cuando estás esperando queso de cabra. El personal confirmó que usan una mezcla de ricotta y queso de cabra, que creo que es un sustituto barato y pobre del verdadero queso de cabra. El personal se ofreció a cambiar el sándwich a otro de nuestra elección, así que nos quedamos impresionados con el servicio.

I enjoyed my trip to Kondi's for lunch on a Saturday. There were 2 of us and we had the Kondi's ultimate burger and the veggie lasagne. Both were good but we particularly enjoyed the setting and the friendliness of the staff.

Invited by a friend I was pleased to find this new local breakfast spot. Well cooked food & great coffee. Very friendly staff. Took my husband this weekend & again, good food & a warm welcome on a snowy morning. The next visit will be for lunch, their specials board was full of great choices which, given the quality of the breakfast food, will be well cooked & very tasty.

Really warm welcome, we had coffee and cake then stayed for lunch! Huge choice of dishes, all very tempting and reasonably priced. The place was full when we left at 13.15 ..and this was a Thursday! Wish we lived closer...will definitely return!

This isn't a big posh restaurant, more of an informal eaterie, but that's a good thing. It is friendly, clean, efficient, but above all, the food is very good. A steak sandwich came with caramelised onion, cheese in just the right quantity, mushrooms, chips, coleslaw and salad, and was soooo tasty! It wasn't expensive for what it was.

15 members of the Bristol French Circle spent a lovely evening here last Thursday - Danny the manager opened specially for us as a private function and we had a buffet of antipasti, pizzas and lasagne with salad, followed by a selection of cakes and tiramisu. The atmosphere was perfect and the staff made us feel very welcome and relaxed.

Soy un gran fan de Kondi. Nos visitan regularmente para comer y de vez en cuando para el desayuno o el café. El personal es a veces un poco distante pero la comida excelente, variado y fresco.

Menú especial de San valentín fue excelente. La comida estaba muy bien presentado y muy sabroso. Muy contentos nos pasó a ver la pizarra en la acera publicidad la noche.

This cafe is lovely . It is bright, well lit , warm and friendly in contrast to those more trendy places around . It is a question of taste but this cafe gets my vote !

Great food and service everytime I have been. The menu is extensive and the arancini are amazing. The coffee is always a high standard too and plenty of cakes on offer.

Arrived midday for lunch only just got a table. This was a good sign 4 of us ordered lunch, all were perfectly cooked and presented. Service was excellent from ordering to leaving. Spotless cafe and large range of food on the menu and specials on the wall.This is one place I would not hesitate to recommend and we will be going back.

We popped in for coffee and cake and were very pleasantly surprised. The coffee was delicious and there was an excellent range of unusual cakes, very tasty. The menu for lunches and evening meals looked very good, so we will definitely go back there to try their main courses and maybe a dessert too. Also very good customer service and excellent value.

I ALWAYS come to this little cafe for breakfast when I need cheering up, their sausage sandwiches on sourdough bread are better than any I've ever tasted elsewhere and the gentlemen serving are always super nice. Highly recommend!

I want it for myself but Trip Advisor says I have to tell the truth. Best cafe I've been to - ever.Relaxed. Good range. Nice food and incredibly attentive staff. We just had brunch and nothing was too much trouble but all done in a relaxed way.

Visited this busy Italian/ British café for lunch and we were very impressed! A friendly, clean, cozy atmosphere with a lovely fresh lunch menu and fresh cakes. I had the halloumi and red pepper salad (photo), my daughter had a pizza from the stone oven, my husband had a steak sandwich and our youngest had fish fingers and chips. The food was super and good value for money. We look forward to coming back soon!

My wife and I took our two grandchildren (4 and 6) for tea in this small brasserie in Henleaze. They had 4 kids hot meals on offer that were ideal. The helpings were generous and choices enjoyed by both grandchildren. We will certainly return and would like to try the many adult choices that are available. The food looked yummy.

This restaurant has been re-vamped and is very nicely done.We had a lovely cup of coffee with hot milk (£2) and watched the busy life outside the window.They do a two menu s one is a light lunch and the other more dining .We had a meal sometime ago and it was very nice.friendly staff and popular with the locals .Only a small toilet and not any good for wheelchairs .Afterwards make your way to the shops or to the little henleaze park.

Good coffee, but the staff insisted the hot cross bun would be fine without being toasted and it wasn't! Nice atmosphere. Great gift shop next door.

Restaurant with excellent food had chicken and ham salad delicious, nice cosy comfortable place for a light lunch, the staff are friendly and very welcoming and one of the best pot of Earl Grey tea anywhere in Bristol will return soon

Visited here with my son & friend. Nice little venue & gets very busy. We had veggie breakfast, not groundbreaking but very nice & a good size portion. Good prices. My friend had salmon & eggs Benedict which she thoroughly enjoyed. As a coffee addict I was pleasantly surprised with my coffee which was lovely. Good service & accommodated my sons fussiness! Would visit again.

We visited this small, attractive restaurant a while ago but I believe it has changed hands since then and for the better. It seems now to be run by two Italian guys. We went there for dinner and had a warm welcome with efficient and friendly service. Our visit was just before Christmas and we had the most delicious meal. I had the best ever minestrone soup to start which was so thick with beans and vegetables that it resembled a casserole and would have done as a main course. I had a risotto to follow which was creamy and gorgeous. My husband had sea bass which was beautifully cooked. Tiramisu finished off a memorable meal. The lunchtime menu looked fantastic too.The place was not full but it deserves to be and maybe it is not well known enough. It does dinner on Friday and Saturday only and I am planning to go there for my birthday meal. It is a little gem!

Nice place with a good, relaxing atmosphere. Food was nicely prepared and presented, although it took quite a while to come. The staff weren't overly helpful. We were served our meal and had no cutlery on the table, not quite sure if we were meant to get it ourselves since no-one told us. Will go back though.

After a few hours out with the family we needed a middle of the afternoon lunch. We use Kondi Brasserie on a regular basis, middle morning, lunchtime, middle afternoon. The Brasserie menu covers a fair range, the food is very well presented and the service is good. Prices are very reasonable for this type of Brasserie eatery. We keep going back as we know we will not be disappointed. For example today I had smoked salmon on cream cheese in brown bread with a side garnish of salad and trimmings, very good quality. And they serve a pretty decent cup of coffee.

We went there with a large group of friends shortly after they opened. It was expensive, the waiter was rude as I had the lamb which was served with a salad but I wanted roasted veg instead and was made to feel that I had committed a crime!! Service was poor and when we checked the bill we had been charged for an extra bottle of wine. A member of our party as soon as she got home had to have cheese and crackers as she still felt ravenous! Will never go back to this overpriced place again and I am not the only one in the party who felt the same way. It has taken a while to write this as I hate writing bad reviews but after speaking to others who ate there that evening we think it is well deserved!

After a management change, this cafe/brasserie has re-opened its evening service on Fridays and Saturdays. It is now distinctly Italian and has an excellent, wide range of dishes which we have found delicious, excellently presented and of a suitable portion size. Service is professional and timely and there is a lovely local buzz about the place. My only disappointment was rather-too-melted ice cream in my affogato but I'll defintiely be back. It's lovely to walk somewhere good and local. BS9 residents - there's great cooking on your doorstep!

I took my partner here for a date as she always wanted to go. The lcoation is ideal and easy to park, and decieving from the outside as it looks like a local cafe / restaurant but when you get inside is very chic.the staff were ever so patient and relaxed, friendly with everybody who came in, and gave nice atmosphere to the whole place.The food was alright, it was nice tasting but sadly took a while to come out despite not being too busy, and came out almost cold. i will admit we didn't complain but it did dampen the nice feeling we had towards the place, especially as the prices were along the top end of what i would call reasonable.we both left pleased we had tried it but think we may explore other places in future

called in very early one morning, first customers. My husband had the full English breakfast, I had pancakes with lemon. Absolutely brilliant food, well cooked not excessive portion-wise & pancakes were light and fluffy with loads of lemon. Excellent coffee. Service very very good. Obviously a favourite with locals as a steady stream of people were arriving as we left. Definitely worth revisiting.

I have now been here a few times during the day (although I gather that under new ownership they're also open in the evenings). The atmosphere is always great and very family friendly (if you can get our buggy in which is more difficult when it's busy!) and seems to be busy from brunch onwards at the weekend. Brunch and lunch items are very good; simple but home cooked food. Would recommend this place to anyone wanting an informal bite to eat in Henleaze.

I've had a few coffee's and lovely light snacks recently at Kondi. Whilst I haven't had a main meal - I must say the ones I've seen look delicious!There is a really nice, friendly atmosphere and the staff are excellent.

Stopped by for some lunch. I had a smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich, which was fantastic, and everybody else thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Staff are really friendly and accommodating, and the place has a great atmosphere.

Lovely food. Went there to take my girlfriend for lunch, we both had sandwiches and a banana milkshake with icecream. They were both delicious, really nice staff, and they served us quickly despite there being quite a few people in there eating lunch.Overall, I really enjoyed the experience I had.

I had lunch at Kondi for the first time in several months.As always the menu was very good with plenty of options (including fish & chips, sandwiches, burgers and several Italian options). The prices were very acceptable and so was the quality of the food.At lunchtime you select your food/drink and pay at the counter. The waiting staff then serve you at your table.My only negative was that the restaurant was too hot and this led to us going elsewhere to have a post meal coffee rather than remaining at Kondi. Also, in trying to get some air, we sat just inside the door and found that smoke from those dining outside blew in.

Visited early Saturday evening.Good choice from menu plus specials. Cosy atmosphere, clean and tasteful decor.Mushroom starter was tepid and a bit tough but OK. My cannelloni was tasty and my husband enjoyed his sea bass and veg, both well cooked. We were in a hurry so did not have dessert but the choices looked good. The staff were pleasant and polite. This place went through a bad patch but we will certainly go back after our latest visit.

The Kondi Brasserie provided a catering service for a wake held in a local church hall, the service and value for money was quite exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, the food was excellent and constant support was maintained throughout with the facility being left clean and tidy. Simply a brilliant service, can only thank Danny and his team, would thoroughly recommend their services.

We've had breakfast/brunch here a few times now. Each and every time the food was excellent. And the coffee strong and hot! Kondi has a nice cosy feel; and sometimes you'll have to wait for your table to come free. Good range of food options all very reasonably priced. Nice staff. Recommended.

Popped in here for a late lunch on a saturday afternoon and was really impressed. Really nice relaxed atmosphere with papers to read and lots to look at on the walls. There was a wide range of sandwiches that all looked delicious and lots of cake. The service was really good with friendly staff members who let me take a while to pick a cake out of the many options. Went for a raspberry blondie in the end and a smoked salmon sandwich which was really good. Will definitely be going back soon.

Including our 12 year old daughter we all really enjoyed the food. It was served simply yet stylishly. The Cornish mussels were delicious and they even had wheat free pasta! The service was very professional and quick. I'd recommend it to anyone. We'll definitely be going back.

This was the first chance we had to try out Kondi Brasserie for an evening meal and we were not disappointed. The service was very attentive and the food delicious. With the menu and the daily specials there is plenty to choose from. We had the chicken and the hake dishes and two very enjoyable desserts. We will certainly be back and hope that this new venture goes from strength to strength.

Locals in Henleaze will be pleased to hear that Kondis Brasserie is again opening in the evenings - just Friday and Saturday at present. We went with 2 friends to try out the new management on their first evening last Friday. We had an excellent meal with ample portions, though the menu is rather limited. Hope they change it frequently. Would thoroughly recommend.

I have breakfast here often and prefer it to costa or the avenue. Better food and much cosier. There are times, like at lunch, where you might have to wait for a table it is that popular. Mostly locals and Henleaze mums.

Visited for a private function. The staff were brilliant! They managed to be attentive and invisible all at the same time. The food which was very good came and went without fuss or confusion over who had ordered what. Wine was flowing and the glasses were topped up and bottles replaced. I have been on a number of occasions for lunch or coffee and really liked the ambience of the place but on this occasion the staff really stood out for me. They were lovely and really helped to make the evening very special. Even to the point of going out and buying something very specific that one of our party wanted and they didn't have at the time. I would definitely put them at the top of a list when considering venues for private functions as well as the casual lunch stop. Well done Kondi!

Visited this establishment which I believe is now called Cafe Kondi yesterday with my elderly mother and friends. Food was very good - everything was cooked fresh and nicely presented. Staff were very helpful and attentive and I know they take great care of my elderly mum when she goes on her own for lunch. Cost was very reasonable. Lunch served between 12 and 3 after that it's a lighter menu till 5. If you're ever in Henleaze Road in Bristol do go I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Great lunchtime menu, really comfortable chairs and decent 'come again' value. To me it demonstrates all the benefits of being and independent over that of a chain.Only coffeed/lunched here (not done evenings) , but been now half a dozen times and food well cooked, good portions and relatively quickly served. In comparison to many places the seats and décor is noticeably comfortable.Staff are efficient but perhaps could be a fraction friendlier, but maybe I'm being picky as the pluses outweigh the minuses many fold. Definitely my go-to place in this part of town for friendly and business informal meets.

Thinking of moving to Bristol we popped in here for a quick lunch. What we got was an excellent tasty lunch and lots of very useful advice about living in Bristol. The staff went out of the way to give us advice about Bristol and the food was delicious. I had goats cheese on sour dough bread and it was beautifully presented and very tasty, The bread would have been delicious on its own it was that good. The soup was delicious and it was just what we needed for a lunch time snack. This certainly was the high point of the day.

Had a flying visit and caught up with family and friends over a quick lunch. As usual the Kondi was busy but they can be relied on to provide good freshly cooked light lunches with a smile. There are great local shops in the high street too. Thanks Kondi.

Kondi is a very popular restaurant which you usually have to book for as it cannot hold too many people. The food is always excellent and they offer gluten free dishes and also dishes that they can make gluten free. Always have steak, fish and burgers on the menu along with some very nice creative dishes. The staff are always so friendly. Would highly recommend.

We were looking for a quick simple lunchtime snack in a local village; what we found was a lovely surprise - wholesome food served swiftly and with a smile.Our ploughman's one ham the other cheese were tasty and good quality.Definitely worth a visit one evening to sample their dinner offerings.

This was my third visit to the Kondi and wow what service, called in with my granddaughter without booking and although they were very busy with loads of bookings they managed to find a table for 2, every meal I have had there is superb, my congratulations to the Chef once again, thank you x

I didn't think they'd be very keen when I enquired about a table for an evening work meeting where we wouldn't be ordering food but they couldn't have been more welcoming. It was great to be able to hold our meeting in a relaxed atmosphere and feel welcomed. The service was genuinely friendly and I'll definitely be going back for a meal if their chocolate brownies are anything to go by.

Went for dinner last night and really enjoyed it. Food was fantastic, great drinks and service/atmosphere brilliant. Great to have such a gem within walking distance! 3 courses & 2 drinks each for £62 - try it, you won't regret. Chicken ballotine and game terrine stood out for us.

This is our 3rd visit to Kondi Brasserie during which we have eaten 3 completely different dishes. This is one of the best if not THE BEST place I have eaten at in Bristol. The food has been nothing short of superb every time. The food is excellently prepared and cooked and all the ingredients taste fresh. The chef's obviously have pride in what they do and it shows in the quality of the food that is sent out. The service is second to none smiles a plenty and very helpful waiters/waitresses. The price is amazing for the food that is turned out here. I would recommend it and before you visit any other Bristol restaurant/cafe think Kondi then forget everything else and go there!!!

Kondi is a great place to have a relaxing evening meal or lunch.. I have done both. The Sunday roast was the best tasting lamb I have eaten in a long time. I love fresh home cooked food with great ingredients and that is certainly what you get at Kondi. The staff were knowledgable about the menu and the service was great. More recently I went there for an evening meal and well what can I say, the menu was varied and it was a hard choice to make as it all looked so good.. I opted for the steak and this was cooked to perfection. Presentation of the food is fantastic and from the words of one of our party dining that evening " it tastes so good you don't want the experience to stop " which did make me laugh but says it all. Compliments to the chef and all the staff. Great evening had by all would certainly recommend to others and will most definitely be making the trip to Bristol to eat here again..hopefully soon!
