Wonderful pizza restaurant. There was a time when one could only get good pizza in Italy itself. Those times have thankfully changed. The Emilia Romana pizza is quite possibly the best pizza I've had here or in Italy. Amazing

One if my favourite restaurants of all. They've just got everything right, the food, the service, the ambiance... The staff are exceptional and the place is always buzzing. The staff are always busy and they seem to love working there. You can watch them prepping and cooking because the kitchen is mostly open. It's great for casual dining or you can dress it up and be a bit more fun formal with it. It's just cool and I love it.

This was our first time visiting this restaurant, though we have previously dined at their other location in Clifton near Prince Victoria Street. The setting is lovely, but let’s talk about the food. Some dishes were visually stunning and packed with flavor, while others were just okay. We tried the Carbonara, which I personally loved, though some of my family members weren’t as keen on it. For starters, we had the arancini, which were absolutely delicious. As for dessert—oh my God—the tiramisu was hands down the best I’ve had. It’s a bit fluffier than usual, but I loved it. Definitely a must-try! We also had the Italian donuts, which were very enjoyable. Service was decent but could use some improvement. One issue was the delay in receiving our dessert—it took quite a while after we ordered, which isn’t ideal. Ideally, desserts should arrive within 7-10 minutes to keep the dining experience smooth. Overall, I’d definitely recommend visiting, and whatever you do, don’t skip the tiramisu!

Good food, the aracini and polpette starters were a particular highlight. Yummy. Pizza was good. Side order potatoes were pretty average. Service was average, they felt under-staffed sp we waited over an hour between courses. When we asked about the wine the waiter just said he didn't drink red wine and shrugged, so not super helpful, but we enjoyed the pinot nero we went for. Very uncomfortable seating, hard metal chairs which was not ideal. Overall though a pleasant evening and the food was good. I would recommend it but would potentially suggest not going on Saturday evening when it is very busy.

Discretionary service charge and now automatically adding charity donations on to the bill. When does this madness end? The service was average at best. No visit during my meal to ask for additional drinks, I had to go to the bar and request to pay my bill and also request a take away box to take home my remaining pizza. I’d ordinarily have sympathy but the place was about 10% full on a Friday afternoon with the staff having a good old chat behind the bar. I won’t be returning.

Great place. Pizza was excellent. So fresh tasting and delicious. The staff were also amazing. When it came to lay the bill by credit card, I asked for them to increase the amount I would pay. This was to allow for a tip. The person taking the payment then pointed out that there was already a service charge on the bill. Usually, I would not be happy about the service charge but as the person pointed it out, it made all the difference. They didn’t have to say anything and could have taken the larger amount from me but didn’t.

Originally we had made our reservation for 13:15, but the timing did not work due to unforeseen commitments later in the afternoon. I telephoned the restaurant a day-or-so before our visit, and changed our reservation to 12:15. This was to allow enough time to return home after lunch here, and prepare for the visit of my Son for a weekend stay. Enough time that is, to drive over to Chippenham, collect my Son and fit in a detour to visit a client near Devizes. With well-over two hours driving, by the time we arrived home, we would have otherwise struggled to fit everything-in within an acceptable timescale. So, this morning, we each took separate metrobuses to Bristol City Centre. My Partner had a mid-morning appointment in the centre of Bristol, whereas I travelled on a metrobus a couple of hours later. We met-up as arranged and then walked from the City Centre, up to Clifton via Park Street, and then along Whiteladies Road towards this lovely restaurant. We were a little early for our reservation, so we called in for provisions at a café-takeaway and a bakery. We arrived here, bang on 12:15, at our most favourite ‘local’ Italian restaurant. When I say ‘local’, I mean ‘in Bristol’; because the Italian restaurants in our home area are sadly not anywhere near the standard that we look for in ‘Cucina Italiana’. Our table was ready for us. Once again we were fortunate to have a window-side location; looking out on what was a pleasant sunny day. There were plenty of pedestrians to watch as they walked, ran and (occasionally) tottered past on the pavement. There were no surprises in our choice of fare; as our order was for the lunch-time deal, and again today our chosen wine was the ‘Grillo’. Today we had a glass each at the start of our meal; but with my late afternoon driving in mind, I wisely refrained from a refill; shame! Starters comprised of the ‘Arancini’ and the ‘Bruschetta Pomodoro’. We shared these between-us: which is easy because there are two Arancini per serving, and also two Bruschetta per serving. The Bruschetta was simple, but wonderful: beautifully finely-chopped sweet cherry tomatoes, olive oil and fresh basil. The Bruschetta is served on crusty toasted bread: so perfectly minimal. The Arancini is the perfect foil for the Bruschetta: a crispy outer shell combined with the soft risotto rice, and the molten taleggio cheese. This makes for supreme ‘comfort food’ when eaten on it's own; so sharing the two plates is even more joy. Mains of ’House Pizza’; a simple margherita style plat. Being perfectly cooked, in a traditional wood-fired pizza oven, the pizza was so soft and pliable. The crust was very slightly charred, and covered in lovely tomato paste, mozzarella, and fresh basil. Our food here was again wonderfully uncomplicated, and the better for it. One slightly adverse comment we did make was regarding the plates were stone cold. This means that as soon as the lovely hot pizza is plated-up it begins to rapidly cool (well more rapidly). This is alright if you eat quickly, but if you take the time to savour this fine food, the pizza becomes increasing cool and then quite cold. We did mention this to the staff and hope that our comments are taken seriously.

Best pizza I've had in ages - lovely tasty ingredients and a nice crispy base. The crust is sublime dipped in their garlic mayo. The staff were really lovely as well, accommodating to a fussy child not wanting basil on their pizza, and pepper on their garlic mayo! It was a busy Friday lunch service during half term and the team was clearly run off their feet, but they were unfailingly polite and charming to every customer (we were by the door so I saw them interact with every single person who walked in). Overall, really impressed and am definitely planning on returning. Warning - it gets busy and they have tall tables, which are great for adults but don't accommodate families with small kids.

Second visit to Bosco’s, lovely staff and good food. I like a buzzy atmosphere and this is no criticism of Bosco’s in any way but I have one word of advice to potential clients. Avoid Sunday afternoon / early evening : Reason is there seems to be masses of children with their parents, and at several tables there seemed to be a screaming contest in operation. This made conversation rather difficult for the two couples who had met up for a pre theatre meal. Ah ! You will say a miserable old guy speaks. I’m a Dad and Grandad and love kids but the decibel level was pretty grim. Now the positives, really good pizzas, my calamari starter was great followed by Tuscan stew with added meatballs, the other 3 members of the group also enjoyed I noticed belatedly that at the rear of the restaurant there were tables in booths, on our next visit we will request one.

Today this woeful summer, produced a rare sunny and warm day, with a slight cooling breeze; ideal conditions for walking. With our home being in a northeastern suburb of Bristol, with an excellent metrobus service to Bristol’s city centre available, we regularly visit what is my home-town. We find the pull of Bristol’s delights almost irresistible on such days. The 30-minute metrobus journey operates every 20 minutes from a nearby bus-stop, and with a round-trip costing £3.80, we often say “Why not?” My Son was with us; on his last day of a week’s leave and staying with us for a couple of nights. The plan was to have a walk-around the lovely Bristol Harbourside, and then travel uphill to Clifton (my place of birth), to take lunch here at this wonderful Italian restaurant. Due to heavy traffic congestion, causing a 45-minute delay to the metrobus service, we all-but abandoned our planned harbourside walk; heading straight up to Clifton. We had made a reservation here, but we were a little early; that however was not a problem. We were able to immediately take to our table (with views out of the fully glazed front) in the main dining room. The restaurant was moderately busy during our 90-minute stay, with about 20 covers in total. My Son was easily persuaded to try the lovely Sicilian Grillo white wine, so we ordered three glasses. This is a really superbly dry, fruity and complex wine. We had all decided that the (weekday) lunch-time meal-deal was a great option. On visits here we invariably have a starter of (two) arancini plus a starter of (two) bruschetta, which my Partner and I then share. My Son likes bruschetta, but had never tried arancini. So, I asked our very helpful waitress if we could have three bruschetta plus three arancini: and that was not a problem. This allowed us all to have a mixed bruschetta and arancini starter. These fabulous starters were as great as they always are. My Son really enjoyed his first taste of arancini; well what’s there not to like! Mains were an easy choice; being the wonderful and simple 12-inch wood-fired tomato, cheese and basil ‘house’ pizza. Glorious textures and tastes: and every morsel was cleared from all of our plates. The origins of this Italian pizza lie in what was once a simple meal eaten as ‘poor-man’s food’. This ‘Margharita’ pizza has (green) basil leaves, (white) mozzarella cheese and (red) tomatoes echoing the Italian tricolour flag. A truly poetical-plate. IMHO ‘loaded’ pizzas sold in many chain restaurants has strayed too far from pizza’s origins and has become far-less appealing. Desserts: for my Son “Chocolate Gelato” (credited to ‘Swoon’), and for myself a “Cannoli”. Both thoroughly enjoyed, and bringing our visit here to a close; apart from finishing-off our wine (the second glass for my Partner and myself). The total bill for this wonderful meal and the equally wonderful service and ambience, was a tad over £30 a head; worth every penny.

Bosco has always been great, and our recent visit exceeded expectations. Really busy restaurant, efficient service and food were amazing. Especially the burrata.

Had an absolutely delicious meal for my brothers birthday! The food and atmosphere was incredible along with the music but the service from Ed was the cherry on top, kind and caring service and clearly knows the restaurant, menu and drinks menu off by heart, such a lovely afternoon and highly recommended, thank you Ed!

Just had a very disappointing meal. My partner had the mushroom pizza, it was cold and tasteless. I had sea bass but they only had salad which was bland and I left hungry. Wine was excellent however it was not a good experience and we won't be returning.

The experience in the other bosco Restaurant was better. My Pizza was slightly burned on the bottom. The carbonara was Tasty but Small.

Last night we had a round table for 7 people and ordered a mix of arancini, pizza, pasta and salad, washed down with a couple of bottles of house red. The food was excellent, the service also could not be faulted. Our only criticism was that we needed our phone torches to read the menu! More 4.5/5 I would say. Thank you for a lovely evening.

All ingredients at Bosco Pizzeria are shipped from Italy, including wine. So it has one of our favorite sweet white wines, Dindarello Maculan. They don't have many pizza choices, but the ventricina is good enough. In addition, their chill oil is very fragrant, dark green, with the aroma of roasted chili sauce, and spicy taste. ventricina has a spicy salami grilled until slightly crispy, a slightly sweet tomato sauce, and mellow cheese, which has an endless aftertaste; Bosco Carne is a red base pizza with Parma ham and cheese, which is salty and delicious; Amatriciana is a slightly spicy red base pizza Pizza, perfect for those who like spicy food; Among spaghetti, I have only tried Carbonara, which is a perfect combination of Guanciale (a kind of bacon), egg yolk (mayonnaise) and Parmesan cheese. It is an authentic Italian ingredient and method. Desserts are very traditional, Affogato, espresso and vanilla ice cream balls, the combination of sweetness and bitterness, refreshing after the meal.

Really friendly atmosphere. Slightly limited menu offering especially for the lunch deal and under seasoned food but overall a good lunch.

Great service and food, this was our first visit but won't be our last! Our group all had pizza, a different one each, and they were all good. Great starters and sides too - can recommend the bruschetta, roasted potatoes and rocket salad! Really popular when we visited on a Thursday evening so worth booking a table.

Real quality pizza which stands out in a very competitive market in Bristol, but what really made it was just how accommodating and friendly the staff were to the two young children we had with us! Not many places can achieve being family friendly but also feel high end.

We stopped here spontaneously just to get off the motorway for a bit. I have an irritating allergy and the staff were fantastic, they made a lot of effort to create a pizza that I could eat and were happy to do so. The staff were fabulous, highly recommended !!

Imaginative but not great cocktails. There were some interesting takes on classic cocktails, but they tend to the popular classics and try more to mask the taste of the spirits than to play to their strengths. If you don't like the taste of alcohol but you want something colourful and with a overpowering flavour, this one is for you. If you want something that plays to the strength of their drinks, there are better choices. Good staff, good atmosphere. Make a reservation, it's well lit and in the city centre - don't be an idiot and turn up expecting they will seat you then leave a review when your lack of preparation is not their problem to solve.

Beautiful place with a slightly limited selection of Belgian beers given the range that is actually produced and easily available in the UK. However there is something for everyone on their menu. It is very heavily priced however. Probably would not go back on that basis, you can get many of these beers elsewhere at a fraction of the cost, often with William Morris on the walls too.
