Fantastic service by David for our beautiful and very tasty wedding cheese cake a couple of weeks ago. All negotiations were by phone or email, so sadly I didn't get to meet David, but he was so helpful with regard to choosing the cheeses and the amount required for the number of guests . David delivered the cheese to the wedding venue personally and absolutely when he said he would. A friend decorated it beautifully with figs, ivy, grapes etc and the guests had a fantastic time eating it! It looked wonderful despite someone - who thought they were helping - cutting the beautiful red rind off the cheddar - which was definitely not supposed to happen! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend David and his wonderful cheese cakes for your wedding - or any other type of celebration. Thank you for an efficient, friendly service.

Have been here about 3 times now for a sandwich lunch. They have about 7 sandwich choices including meat & vegi options. I love the Chilli Billy (goats cheese, sweet chilli, peppers & salad). I live in Australia and needed to be able to send a food hamper to dear family friends in Bristol who had just lost their father. None of the traditional hampers on line were appropriate so I called Arch house direct and spoke to Josh. he was so amenable and we collaboratively worked out a perfect option over the phone . he then even arranged for one of his staff to deliver the hamper personally. Trying to resolve these things remotely from Australia is daunting , but Josh and David were brilliant and made the whole process so easy. the hamper looked sensational and was well received by my friends . They truly delivered a great flexible service, with quality products and at a reasonable price as well. I would recommend them to anyone !!! Thanks heaps !

As a french person living in Bristol, i was desperately looking for good cheese in town. So naturally I went to the apparently number one shop for cheese in town, Arch House Deli. The place is really pretty, quite, the people working here are realy nice and careful. First thing that hurts me a little bit, all the cheese are mixed together, some are really smelly ones and there are just next to other ones way more soft, not good at all for the life of the cheese and every cheese doesnt need the same treatment to stay fresh.. the cheese I get: a Comté that was quite fine even if it was pretty obvious that it has to be eaten really quick, but the chebris was a disaster, you can feel a really weird taste at the surface and was dehydrated. And the price was so high, so disappointing..

David Greenman is professional, passionate and knowledgeable. He certainly knows his cheese. We found the Arch House Deli website by searching for "cheese cakes" for weddings, as we wanted one for our daughter's wedding. We were really impressed that David sources lots of local artisan cheeses, as we were keen on Montgomery cheddar but ironically our finished cheese cake did not include this because we found some other cheese which we likes, following advice from David on size, texture, colour etc. We were also able to taste at the counter before deciding on what we wanted. The best part was that this process was worry free. Once we had placed our order David did the work of putting the cheeses together, providing labels and putting the cheese on ice for transportation. We did check prices against Amazon and David's cheese either competed favourably or undercut - that is no mean feat against the giant Amazon! We would recommend the Arch House to everyone. It is brilliant for specialist cheese cakes but also for wine and cheese events, chutney's and pickles, cheese biscuits, boards and slates, plus lots, lots more.

But recently, C. Village has seen an upsurge of new cafes with lovely food and now arch house has some serious competition. I was there today and ordered the milano sandwich. It looked nice but the bread around the edged was stale, and being a new yorker I have to say that brie and red onion onion marmalade does not go with salami! It just didnt work and tasted wrong. We were looking for somewhere to eat late afternoon and found that many places in the area had stopped serving. We stumbled across this place which looked wonderful as a deli and found that they had a seperate dining area out the back. As there was only one other couple there and none of the staff had said anything to us, we took off our coats, spent a few minutes looking at the menu and then went to the counter to order. At this point we were told that the dining area was closed but we could sit outside (it was raining and cold!). As we were hungry we took this option as there was a small amount of shelter under the archway. We ordered a meat platter which was quite large and good value for money.I would have given this a higher rating but I don't think that it was ideal to let us sit in the dining area, take our coats off, look at the menu and not tell us that the dining area was closed!

We ordered our wedding cake (cheese) from Arch House Deli and we are so glad we did! Everyone was so helpful and knowledgeable from start to finish. The cheese was amazing as were all the unusual crackers and chutneys. It turned out exactly as we wanted and we will happily recommend Arch House Deli to everyone. We'll be back in for our cheese at Christmas!

Thank you for preparing a 'Proposal Italian Picnic Hamper'.My son was nervously preparing to propose to his girlfriend . Both of them enjoy the Italian food and life style. So he asked me to contact Arch House and ask if they would prepare an Italian inspired Picnic Hamper. The staff were informative and offered advice with regard to choices available . Delivery was on time and the presentation was fine. The couple enjoyed the contents . We would certainly return to the Arch House again, both for business and pleasure.Did ' she say Yes ? ' most certainly she Did'

Been here a few times now and never disappoints. Met family for lunch and we sat outside in glorious sunshine. Sandwiches here are very good. We followed with some very nice cake. Everything in the shop is wonderful... usually end up with piles of stuff to take home.

We recently visited Arch House Deli to help out with a wedding Cheese cake we wanted. From the minute we made our enquiry, until we received the cheese, the service we superb. The staff at Arch House Deli are very knowledgeable and passionate about their food, which certainly comes across to the customer. There are a huge range of deli products in store to enjoy, but the cheeses certainly steal the show.We have been back numerous time since the wedding, as there are very few places you can get food of this quality. A must visit for any foodie visiting or living in Bristol.

What a wonderful evening we had!The team at Arch House had clearly put in a lot of time and effort to make our French-themed cheese and wine tasting evening a success. They were wonderful hosts, and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. The evening was incredibly informative (and very tasty), and I have come away with a genuine appreciation for the combination of certain cheeses and wines. Most importantly, the bride-to-be loved it!I cannot recommend Arch House Deli enough.

Due to time constraints between graduation ceremonies a picnic seemed the only choice. The Arch House Deli was a excellent choice, the contents were of a very high standard something for everyone. My daughters face certainly lit up and the sight of raspberry lemonade and the size of the strawberries. The picnic certainly added to the enjoyment of a wonderful day.

All the cheeses were tasty (according to our guests, at least) and the staff were very helpful and accommodating with coming up with a cake for us, particularly as it was very last-minute.

Went here to get a wedding cheese cake / tower. They were really useful and informative. Not pushy at all. The cheese tasting at the begining was very useful and, friendly and fun. And all of my guests loved the cheese. My advice would be to leave the Cornish Yarg, it is ok, but certainly the least favourite by my guests.

My wife and I ordered a cheese wedding cake from Arch House Deli recently. As a long time fan of this superb deli they delivered exceptional service and a cheese cake that all of the guests descended on like vultures as soon as it was brought out. The member of staff who served us went as far as finding the ripest brie round in the shop to complete the cake. It was ready on time and the size was perfect for the 140 guests that attended. Faultless.

This is the sort of deli that any discerning food lover would like to have close to them. They pick and choose their produce carefully and stock many great products that have won gongs in the Great Taste Awards. There are opportunities to sample products or simply discuss them with the knowledgable staff. A great cheese counter; brilliant coffee and sandwiches as well.

I ordered a picnic hamper from the deli for a birthday treat. The staff were very responsive and helpful, and flexible about swapping foods we couldn't eat for favourites and the result was a selection of really delicious salads, cakes and cheeses. My partner particularly likes chorizo and there were some nice touches around this theme. As a special treat I would say the quality of the food was really great, the selection delicious. I would recommend this if you're looking for something special. The amount of food was generous for the two of us.

We were in Bristol again this week, so decided to call in to our favourite deli. This time we had a selection of Tapas, which were delicious. The portions were as ever, a bit large, so we asked for a doggy bag which came back with beautifully wrapped items inside which we enjoyed later. Again, it was a lovely experience in cosy surroundings. The food to buy is fantastic and I bought a big bottle of Fig and Date balsamic dip which is STUNNING! If you visit here, you must sample some of this nectar, you won't be disappointed. Staff were superb. Highly recommended.

We visited here to get lunch on a day out to Clifton. The stock of produce is fantastic and I could easily spend a lot of money here. However the primary reason to visit was lunch and it was not that great. I had a 'New Yorker' that was served on bread that was very 'Chorleywood' for my taste and my flat white was well below par. My wife said the same about her food and they forgot to charge us for two things and then magically remembered. Rather than leaving it be they made us go up to pay again. If I lived nearby I would visit to buy things but probably not eat here again.

Recently I bought a couple of hampers from Arch House's website for a gift. When I called them a few hours later to check on delivery times, I asked David if the hamper contents could be customised, which he was very happy to help with. Not only was David very helpful with customising the hampers, he even arranged a special delivery on his way home from work at no extra cost. Now that's what I call outstanding service. I will be buying from Arch House again and I look forward to swinging by for coffee next time I'm in town. If you like your deli food with a side of happy, friendly and helpful service, this is the place for you.

this place is great because it has all the deli finds you hear about and need to cook with, but can never manage to locate in a big supermarket (or if you do, its of poor quality). Great location, great place.

I have always enjoyed visiting this deli. It has a good range of items which change with the seasons, including fantastic fresh bread, oils and jams (recommended!). I have also enjoyed some 'proper' sandwiches here for a lunchtime with family or friends. Do not be put off by the slightly steep price, these sandwiches are a good meal in themselves. Everyone I know very much enjoys this deli, it's easy to see why they have been voted deli of the year in the past.

We enjoyed our visit here for a coffee late morning on a Sunday. All the other restaurants and cafes close by were busy but we were the only people there when we arrived. Pleasant service and a nice feeling about the place with free wifi. Only reason to mark it down a notch at 4 rather than 5 is it wasn't the cleanest of places, lots of crumbs, dust and dirty cushions just took a little bit of the shine off what was otherwise a very happy experience.

The deli is the kind of place that you walk into just so that you can look at all the lovely things on offer! I've never sat in, but I'm looking forward to sitting outside in good weather. The sandwiches are delicious, packed full, and they are great variety of fillings on offer. The loaves of bread are also great.

We visited this little gem for a treat while out on a walk through the village. I had a lovely pot of tea while the the ladies had some hot chocolate which they loved. The cake was great and although it was 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon there was still a good selection left. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. My only problem with this venue is all the delightful things they sell in their deli and I just had to take some of it home. One of my dear friends buys all his cheese here and we have often got into trouble whe have got home and our wives have seen the mountain of cheese we have bought! My favourite is the "stinky bisop"

Went to Friska for lunch with a friend. The dining area was getting full as it was clearly prime time, but there wasn’t a queue and service was efficient and smiley. Atmosphere in this Friska is nice,
